NEWS ABOUT THE NEXT UPDATE!!

Hi DeckHunters!
It has been a long time since the last post about the game and I think is necessary to explain to you some stuff.

The game is not abandoned. As I explain in my last post, I'm redoing the enemy AI to offer a better experience in Deck Hunter. This kind of development requests more time (basically, you must think that I am redoing one of the most important parts of the game that is like the heart of the game) and I'm working hard on it. (just remember that I'm a one-man-army developer). I'm pretty sure that this invested time will be worth it.

The good news is that I'm finishing this task, adding new enemies mechanics, new art and more cool stuff and it will be ready ASAP. As always I'll be open to your feedback once you play this next update. So, I ask your patience until the next update arrives.

COMMUNITY UPDATE v5.5 - HOW TO BE A GOOD ALCHEMIST!

Hi Deck Hunters!

While I'm working hard on the next update, I'm reading your posts and comments on the Steam Community Hub, especially those related to Alchemy and Armors Durability. For this reason, I'm releasing today the Community Update v5.5.


As you know, the Alchemy is an important mechanic in the game. It's under development and I'm trying to get the best experience possible through Alchemy mechanic. I've developed new functions for it, so I hope they fit better in the game and you can enjoy it.
And now, it's time for an alchemy lesson. Let me introduce you, The Alchemy Master (it's me with a mage voice).


  • The Alchemy card is on your deck from the beginning.

  • You can use the Alchemy card at any time during your turn. This activates the Alchemy (the Alchemy icon is on).

  • If you try to use the Alchemy card and you don't have alchemical cards, a message appears explaining it. The Alchemy button will continue activated.

  • If you haven't used the Alchemy card at the end of the fight, it returns to your deck.

Thanks, the Alchemy Master... I'm the blacksmith and I'm here to talk about the armors durability. It has been modified and now the durability will be lost in two very specific cases:

  • When you DIE.
  • When you are a coward and surrender.

The multiple suggestions of the villagers have made this little dwarf strive to reinforce his most valuable pieces.

On the other hand, I inform you that L_Draven is working hard to redo the entire enemies system. So, enjoy this new version and share your feedback on the forums. Remember, as good Hunters, we have to fight together to make a better game.

COMMUNITY UPDATE 5.0 - The summer sale is over and Deck Hunter “mola”

Hi Hunters!!

I have not bought any game in the summer sale on Steam because I’ve been working on this new Community Update 5.0. There is no time to lose now!
If you have new games, good for you, but this new update has important features that require your immediate attention!!

Features:


  • New combat HUD: New design with new functions.
  • New map HUD: New design. Forge added. It means you can change your outfit at any time from the map screen. As a consequence, Forge is not on the main menu screen.
  • New armor pieces added.
  • Armor pieces have durability now.
  • New weapons with special actions added. Discover them all!
  • Alchemy book: Every new alchemy fusing action unlocked is registered in the Alchemy Book. You can check it during the run.
  • New cards added.
  • General balancing and bug fixing.


I hope you enjoy this new update. As usual, I’ll appreciate any feedback from you.
After this new update, it’s time to redone de enemies system. Thanks to your feedback I realized that the current enemies system needs some changes. I was thinking about it, and after some testing, I decided creating a new one is necessary. So, I’ll be focused on this feature (and bug fixing when is required) and there will be no updates for a while.

At last but not least, I wanna share with you the following data of Deck Hunter. The average time played is 5 hours 9 minutes and 20% of the players have played more than 10 hours. Hunters, this is amazing, it means you are enjoying the game despite it’s an early access game developed by one guy. I’m pretty sure that we can build a great game together!! You can continue supporting the game with posting reviews (positive is always better) or spreading the word. Do your friends have Deck Hunter? Talk to them about the game! Do you know some streamer that plays card games? Request to him/her for a Deck Hunter streaming! Are you at a party? Just shout loudly “Deck Hunter” and have fun :P

COMMUNITY UPDATE 4.0

Hi friends!!

I have been working hard to bring to you the new Community Update 4.0 with several improvements and features that lot of you guys asked for.

I hope you enjoy this new update.

UPDATE CONTENT:

Features:
The entry point of the game is more friendly thanks to the new difficulty curve.
Combos Book: Every combo unlocked is registered in the Combos Book. You can check it during the run. Obviously, this book needs more combos, so NEW combos added :)
New visual improvements: FX Combo execution and FX Upgrade card have a new distribution in the gameplay screen in order to improve the game flow.
New “Fire” mechanic is now available. Please, ask to the plants for more info ;).

In addition:

  • REVIEWED: some 0 cards cost to avoid the overuse of that.
  • BALANCED: damage of some cards.
  • BALANCED: damage and magic of some enemies.
  • BALANCED: Avery can block the fire damage with defense now.

NEW COMMUNITY UPDATE 3.1 !!

Hi friends, I continue working hard on updating and fixing the game based on your comments and feedback, and for that reason here you have a new update of the Community Update 3.0 with new balancing and new stuff. Enjoy it!

CONTENT OF THIS UPDATE:

FIXED: Some Cards Effects didn´t work correctly.

ADDED: Now you navigate around the map moving the cursor to the edges of the screen. I removed the WASD controls.

BALANCING:


  • ALL upgraded cards have been reviewed in order to offer a progressive curve.
  • Cost cards are more clear now.
  • Upgrading cards is rewarding and more fun.
  • Cards texts have been reviewed to be more clear.
  • The enemies are a little bit stronger now, but you can defeat them :P
  • Adding 38 new more combos. It's cool, but some of them are painful. Take it easy ;)

COMMUNITY UPDATE 3.0 - THE SPECIAL ONE

Hi Deck Hunters!!
The E3 is over and now is time to sharpen your sword and begin a new adventure with Avery!
I've read all your feedback and ideas to improve the game, and some of them are implemented in this new update. I'm so happy about the game reception and obviously is thank to you! Deck Hunters, you rock!!
I'm so proud of this new update, and I'm pretty sure that now the game experience is better than before. I hope you can enjoy the game with this new update and we can walk together in this early access, improving the game.
Of course, any feedback is welcome (in the feedback topic, please). Finally, if you want to support (more) this project, please post a review (if you don't do it yet).

UPDATE CONTENT:

Balancing cards searching a new grateful combat experience
For example:

  • Strike = Deal 5
  • Defender = Def 5


New starting set cards:

  • 6 Strike
  • 6 Defender
  • 1 Minor Healing instead Downgrade card


I reviewed all upgraded cards to don't penalize the upgrading experience. Now evolved cards are better than the basic version. In order to that, the upgraded cost are now reviewed.

Rebalancing all enemy combat system to get the experience little less unfair.
Reconceptualized all the enemy map system to have a better progression feeling during the game.

New final boss skills to offer a deeper combat experience.

New elements in the map.

  • If you are in a started game: You must complete your current area to enjoy these new features.
  • If you start a new game: You’ll enjoy the new map from the beginning.


Discard well = You can remove 1 to 3 cards of your deck
Chest = Resources
Spin = Now outside of the Rest Area
Rest Area = Recovery life / Remove 1 card of your deck

Balancing the cost of the armors (resources) and the effects.

New system outfit generator for enemies only.
I’ve developed a new algorithm to create different combinations randomly for the enemies outfit. In this update, you can see this new feature in the Skeletons. The rest of the enemies will be available in future updates.


FIXED: Avery LVL-0 Issue. (this fix is not a retroactive action. If you have Avery Lvl-0 in your current game, you must reset your profile)
FIXED: Magic effects didn’t work correctly.
FIXED: Improved the effects stack execution flow for a better experience.
FIXED: Ent Boss infobox works correctly now.
FIXED: Removed close button in Alchemy after forging the new card.
FIXED: Loot crashes.

ADDED: Now you can show/hide the legend in the map.

REVIEWED: Infobox & Cards effects. (English version only)
REVIEWED: Player level values.

Explanatory note: Some of you have commented about the name of the Bosses as a typo. Is not a mistake. As you can imagine, I don’t have the rights of this known names, so "these mistakes" is my special tribute.

While the entire world are following the #E32019 , I am working in the new big update for Deck Hunter to try to release it during this week as I said.

I am working hard, reading all the discussion posts from you guys, and trying to include new features based on your feedback and fixing several bugs based on your reports.

I am working to create the most polished version possible in order to give you the best game experience, and for that reason I want to release it when everything is optimized.

Hi friends!

As you can see I didn’t´t upload new updates yesterday or today. The reason is because I want compile the max information possible from the forums and try to make a bigger update for the end of this week or beginning of next one that contains important game balance changes, several important bug fixes and some visual improvements for give to you a better game experience.

I think that is better going this way because you will notice better how the game is improving.

Of course I will keep releasing small updates fixes for important things.

I hope you understand that I am doing this game alone and I am trying to give you the best experience possible as faster I can, always based on your feedback and reports, and that is something that I appreciate so much from you, friends, THANKS A LOT!!.

COMMUNITY UPDATE 2.0

Hi friends!!

Again, thanks a lot for your feedback and support.

I have been working really hard to bring you ASAP a new update with several changes & improvements:


- FIXED: Blocked turn fighting versus Ungolaint (Spider Boss)

- FIXED: Block turn fighting versus Lobrab (Ent Boss)

- FIXED: RockyStead effect “Send 6 Cards from Deck To Void” now works correctly

- FIXED: Map duplicates cells on area 1 after win the entire forest map.

- FIXED: After complete the entire map, your deck is reset to the default one.

- FIXED: Cards texts (ONLY ENGLISH) and info box texts reviewed

- FIXED: Better explanation on info boxes about which movements are ATTACKS and which ones are MAGICS, in order to have a better understanding about the movements during the combat.

- FIXED: New cards available in levels 1-2-3

- FIXED: New balancing on cards , enemies, combos & Alchemies based on the community feedback.

- ADDED: Close button to SPIN OF FORTUNE (if you want to go back before start)

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER UPDATE !!!

Hi friends!!

I´m continue working hard to update the game fixing bugs and balancing based on your feedback.

This new update contains:

FIXED: Game crashed and lose all your progress when you forged a piece, equipped it, and then play the game, or after forge and equip you exit and open the game again, and the game not loading.

FIXED: Soul Sacrifice card Upgrade.

BALANCING: Changed some cards costs and effects, added new combo and Alchemy in order to improve the game experience, based on community feedback.

EXTRA: Windows 7 now added as minimum OS.
