Murkor Invasion Log #10: Giant Anomaly

Gather Round Agents!

We have a new frightening report incoming from our newest agent fighting out on the field. Not only do we have scary boss Murkors to contend with in some areas, but we also now have various sightings of giant Murkor minions too! Rido has been out investigating on the scene.

Rido’s latest communication:

What’s crackalackin everyone?! Looks like things are heatin' up out here! I think someone’s been feeding these Murkors a bit too much lately because they are super-size! I have been catchin' up with the locals and they told me these giant Murkors have been appearin' out of nowhere and grouping together to intimidate anyone who comes close!

Wanderin' around the latest area they were reported, I quickly came across the big guy in question. I threw everythin' I had at this Murkor and things seemed to be goin' real good, until the guy split into two! They lost some of their size though, so this giant Murkor must be made up of lots of the pesky things!

I made up my mind to shoot the heck out of these Murkors and as I did they continued to split and get smaller and smaller every time. Eventually they were easy peasy to defeat and the area was cleared by yours truly!

My advice if you come across these giant Murkors yourself, fire everythin' you got until they split into manageable sizes and you are golden!

Smell you later peeps!

Who's da boss: Murkraknarök Incoming!

Greetings Agents!

HQ tuning in now to communicate some new intel received from one of our recruits in the Icy village of Yggdrasil. The Murkors appear to be under the command of a new boss in the area, this has been dubbed the Murkraknarök and they should be approached with extreme caution!

Our latest report has valuable information for you all to ensure the advantage is on our side in this battle. Report reads:

You will find this newest enemy hideout in a concealed cave at the very top of the icy village. It has been hidden well so keep your wits about you as you approach the village huts, there may be guard minions posted to keep anyone from venturing further inside.

Once inside, do not be fooled by the lack of murkors…their aim is to lure you into a false sense of safety. Upon venturing further inside you will find yourself easily surrounded if you are not careful. The Murkraknarök seems to keep themselves buried in the ceiling of the cave so be sure to look up!

Not only above, but the Murkraknarök has the ability to summon deadly tentacle plants that will trap you if you drop your guard. These plants are the key to the bosses downfall though! Inflict enough damage to these plants and the Murkraknarök will have no choice but to investigate and lower part of their body. That is your window to attack and hopefully defeat them once and for all!

Be vigilant out there agents!

Murkor Invasion Log #9: Solve the Cursed Altar

Listen up Folks!

We have a new recruit in our ranks to report the latest from out in the field. He has a rather…unique appearance and an even stranger personality, but he is communicating the ins and outs for your benefit so let’s do our best to make him feel welcome!

Rido’s incoming communique reads:

‘Yo, Yo, Yo! What’s up peeps? Just been cruisin’ round and spotted a group of Murkors actin real suspicious. They were all guarding some weird lookin’ crates and patrolling round this ol’ statue thing, I think it’s called an Altar?

Anyways things kicked off when I got closer, so I flew into action! There was a weird vibe round this altar thing, it felt cold and cursed. As I was holdin’ off those destructive murkors, I noticed that the altar had something missing on the front!

I figured I might as well see what these pesky murkor minions were guardin’ in these boxes and they all had old pieces of tablet, they looked like they were puzzle pieces and they looked a lot like what was missing from the altar.

After blowing up the crates and trying a few different pieces I eventually found the ones that fit perfectly and the murkors seemed frustrated but high tailed it out of there before I could do any more damage. My thoughts are they wanted to cause more destructive mayhem by upsettin’ the mighty energy inside that altar, so be sure to stay on your toes out here folks!

See you in a while, crocodiles!

Murkor Madness: Let's Compare Murkors #2

Salutations Everyone!

The science team checking in with some updated information on the new types of enemies we face. All our recruits have been working tirelessly to gather relevant information so that all you new recruits can stay updated and safe out there!

Let's Compare Murkors!

Follow along with this helpful table of information below:

Murkor Shield

These new Murkors are found in the cold snow covered Yggdrasil and it seems they are imitating the Vikings appearances. They don horn helmets and carry a shield and axe as their main weaponry, but the special ability for this enemy is it's energy shield. A top the long tuft on it's head is where the shield emanates from encircling the Murkor.

Don't be fooled by the cute goofy appearances, these Murkors are not the type you want to meet in the dark:

Murkor Mangual

They may look charming from a distance, but these Murkors are most definitely not the friendly type! Beware the spiky ball tail, it can swing at you with quite the force! This is also where their eyes are located so it may be a potential weak spot as well as it's main weapon.

Continue to stay sharp out there and gather as much intelligence on the enemy as possible to help everyone out in the field!

Character Introduction: Rido

Hi All!

We have new playable characters for Die After Sunset to help aid your fight against the Murkor army! Let’s learn a little more about our wild natured new character Rido!

The invasion gave Rido an opportunity to join the army's human testing division for a hefty cash sum, and he became something new —the perfect nemesis for the Murkors— but how much of his humanity was sacrificed in the process?

After fleeing the testing facility, he remains on the run. Now he seeks to destroy the Murkors, then exact revenge on those who toyed with his humanity: The army.

Rido’s abilities lie in his powerful legs giving him the speed and strength to deal a lot of damage. His swift running and unique kicking style of attack are both useful assets in your fight! He also has the ability to wield a destructive machine gun weapon, putting him a cut above the rest. Spray your enemies with such force that they won’t be coming back for more…

Murkor Invasion Log #8: The Distillery is Going to Explode

Gather Round People!

As always we have new updates for you all with the latest on the Murkors current destruction. The Murkors have been causing mayhem once again at a local distillery. We must work together to make sure they don’t cause irreversible damage!

April reporting in from the scene!

It appears the Murkors have clogged the distillery in an attempt to build pressure within the still. If the pressure reaches a critical point then we will have a very large boom on our hands, so the best thing to do is to focus on reaching the top and releasing the valve to discharge the built up pressure.

The Murkors are not going to make things easy for you though so be ready to fight your way to the top. I would recommend carrying a reliable weapon and also any tech to help your jumping ability would be hugely useful to see this mission end well.

Make sure any additional tools you pick up give you the advantage in close combat with the Murkors. Tools such as grenades or detachable turrets will not be helpful for scaling the still and may even hinder or harm your progression to the top.

Keep your head, this is a time sensitive mission so be sure to move swiftly and precisely and hopefully all we will be cleaning up is Murkor Mukus at the end of the day!

Insider Interview: Murkor Origins!

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to share some insider info from the wonderful developers of Die After Sunset. We will be sharing some thoughts and origins behind the game in regular steam features for you all to enjoy. First up is some early concepts for April and the pesky Murkor enemies!

What came first, the Murkors or April?

'

TRANSLATE: April came first, we wanted to put together an adventure for our protagonist that lived up to her abilities, since she is an adventurer who is not afraid of anything. We wanted her to fight against one of the most primal fears that exists, the fear of the dark, we saw her as the savior who would bring light to a world that was increasingly plunged into darkness.

The Murkors appeared based on the premise that we wanted some enemies that in the sunlight would look nice and not very dangerous but that when they were enveloped in darkness they would become a threat to our protagonist.

And from these two premises came the fight between the Murkors and April.

Gameplay Tips & Tricks #2

Howdy Gamers!

We all love to get insider information or helpful tips from fellow gamers to improve our gameplay right?! Well we want to share some of our tips to help different types of gaming styles out there, so that you can have the most enjoyment out of playing Die After Sunset.

Protect your Health & Shield

Now this might seem like an obvious thing to do, however there are ways you can maximise protecting your defence. There are new items within the new update coming, some are already present within the game, but you can collect various books that give you elemental resistance and health benefits such as Book of Fire, Book of Shock and Book of Life. Not only would you lower the type of attacks that can deal lasting damage, you would also keep that shield and health bar nice and steady as you play.

Another type of item collection you could use to secure you don’t expend your health, would be the Sombrerocopter. This item makes it possible for you to hover after jumping and means you can limit any potential fall damage in the game. A bonus of this item is increased mobility as you can drop from height instead of having to move around the map.

Focus on the missions

Within in each run there are various missions to complete which you can get greater rewards for completing. You do not have to complete all of the missions before the boss shows up, however it would work in your favour if you completed as many as you can due to the increased rewards received in the crates within missions. You also receive quite substantial stat upgrades like +10 Health or +10 Attack which will ultimately help you defeating Murkors as you play.

This sort of play style can also help for those who get overwhelmed with the Murkor enemies. You can choose your battles by avoiding fights outside of missions and engage them after a few successful missions and upgrades. You will still receive useful tool and items during missions as well so you won’t miss out on gearing up your build.

Get some distance

Take on the enemies on your terms and this might not always mean getting up close and personal! Sometimes a more defensive attack style can work in your favour by luring the enemies to you and also helps to keep from large groups of Murkors forming, which can get very overwhelming. Using the middle of your screen to help with your aiming means that you can still shoot accurately at a distance while not taking as much damage yourself. The risk to taking hits from the enemy will be significantly lower this way and see you through the run without having to restart.

We will continue to share our tips and tricks in the future too, but we would also love to hear what sort of things worked well for you while playing Die After Sunset!

Until next time Gamers!

Murkor Invasion Log #7: They are Looting the Pirate Base

Attention Everyone!

Those pesky Murkors are still causing mayhem worldwide and we have many reports coming in of their mischief, but in the last few moments our agent April has been in contact with a new mission report! The Pirate Base has become the newest target and it seems the Murkors are interested in looting the gold!

April’s report reads:

The latest area to be invaded seems to have an old shipwrecked Pirate ship and after some snooping, I found the reason the Murkors were suddenly very interested in it…there is a huge collection of gold hidden inside!

My guess is they want to loot the gold to fund their invasion, so of course we need to make sure they don’t get their hands on a penny of that gold! I have been able to keep them at bay for now after a surprise attack, but this report will hopefully help those who help defend this base in the future.

The shipwreck has many floors to it, so there is a lot of jumping involved for this mission. Best to get any tech or items that will help you with this to see the success of the mission. There are a few key areas containing the gold and that is where you will find the one in charge of sucking up every dime.

I needed to be swift and on the ball to be able to keep up with the Murkors, but I made sure to thwart every attempt to steal the gold and eventually they gave up and retreated. I am sure they will be back though now they know of this Pirate Bases location and the treasure it holds.

The key is to hit the one looting the gold while avoiding all the Murkor minions trying to stop you. The quicker you catch the leader, the quicker the weaker ones will falter and run for the hills! Mark this location as somewhere to defend fellow agents, we don’t want the Murkors looting this gold for their war!
