Early Access Build 20170908

I posted Early Access Build 20170908 of Disputed Space. This build includes two improvements:
1) Fixed an audio problem where sometimes the music would cutout during heavy battles on certain computer hardware. Now music should continue to play normally on all audio hardware during heavy battles.
2) Added damage visualizations to the friendly capital ships. This includes smoke, sparks, and fires similar to the visualizations on the enemy capital ships as they take damage.

Early Access Build 20170831

I posted Early Access Build 20170831 of Disputed Space. This build includes a minor improvement for mouse users. Previously scrolling the mouse wheel forward would select the next weapon, but scrolling backwards had no function. Now scrolling the mouse wheel forward selects the next weapon and scrolling the mouse wheel backwards selects the previous weapon.

Early Access Build 20170828

I posted Early Access Build 20170828 of Disputed Space. This build includes the procedural Mission Objectives System. It will show players details about the current priority mission objective in the upper right corner of the screen. It ties into the targeting system, so the priority capital ship (friendly ship getting hurt or enemy ship vulnerable) will be automatically highlighted for the player. It does not interfere with the player's primary targeting system.

This build also includes an improved video resolution selector. The previous resolution slider has been replaced with plus and minus buttons.

Early Access Build 20170818

I posted Early Access Build 20170818 of Disputed Space. This build includes two new enemy ships for the red faction. The new enemy ship are both mid sized (between small fighters and large capital ships). The two new ship names are "Frigate" and "Hullsmasher". You can find these new ships on any levels where you fight against the red faction. Try level 3 to start.

I posted Early Access Build 20170817 of Disputed Space. This build includes some improvements to the small fighter AI with regards to route planning near large capital ships and bases.

Early Access Build 20170811

I posted Early Access Build 20170811 of Disputed Space. This build includes a controls tutorial in the first level to help new users figure out how to play. The controls tutorial appears in the upper left corner of the screen after the first couple seconds on the first level. The controls tutorial information is specific to the type of control being used (keyboard/mouse or game controller). The controls tutorial does not currently display information for HOTAS joystick users.

Early Access Build 20170801

I posted Early Access Build 20170801 of Disputed Space. This build includes the a new Target Leading feature in the Targeting System. This can be very helpful, especially when taking long shots at fast moving ships.

Early Access Build 20170731

I posted Early Access Build 20170731 of Disputed Space. This build includes the Scoring System. So far, the Scoring System is just local, but eventually the scoring system in Arcade Mode will get tied into the Steam Leaderboards. Now in co-op split screen mode, you can compete with friends locally for high scores, and it will automatically show which player is the current MVP during each level based on high score.

In addition to the Scoring System, I also made these improvements:
1) Fixed bug in pause system during death, ejection, respawn sequence.
2) Fixed a transition hang bug in the menu if the player double clicked on a menu option.
3) Added Back/Cancel in menus using the B button on game controllers.

Early Access Build 20170730

I posted Early Access Build 20170730 of Disputed Space. This build includes the following improvements to the Afterburner System:
1) Reduced minimum energy required for engaging Afterburner from 75% to 25%.
2) Changed Afterburner Energy bar graph to indicate if there is enough energy to engage the Afterburner. Orange means the Afterburner is ready. Red means it does not have enough energy to engage.
3) Improved the Afterburner sound. The sound is louder and the ramp up for the sound is much quicker. It gives better feedback for Afterburner system than previous sound.

Early Access Build 20170729

I posted Early Access Build 20170729 of Disputed Space. This build includes the following improvements:
1) Reduced the enemy fighter rotation speed, so the player can get behind enemy ships - especially when using the afterburner.
2) Eliminated Firing Mode option. There was previously an option where the user could set the primary weapon to either linked fire or alternating fire. This option has been removed and replaced with an automatic firing mode. All of the players primary weapons are now set to linked, expect for the Quad Laser. The Quad Laser is automatically set to a rapidly firing alternating fire mode.
3) Updated the default control screens in the menu for Game Controller, Joystick, and Keyboard/Mouse to reflect all of the recent key binding changes.
