This week, we made significant progress in Faithful Devil, optimized card art assets and a couple of UI optimization, and added dialogs for allies in the player’s team to help the combat be more immersive.
We optimized the art assets for neutral, curse, special, and companion cards, improving performance and consistency. While these changes are currently only visible for the Swine King, we plan to continue optimizing our UI and assets step by step to ensure art style consistency.
We added dialogs for allies to make the game more lively.
We added map nodes color for better differentiation between node types on map.
Finally, we added a shortcut to credits on the main theme title for quicker access to the credits music video.

Dev Log #049: 2023-02-24
This week, we made significant progress on the new character, Faithful Devil: implemented most card logic, combat features, effects, and storylines. In addition to the character development, we also implemented several UI optimizations, including the Map Marker feature, which allows players to mark their desired paths on the map, making it easier to navigate the Journey to the West.
How to use Map maker: right click or long press (on mobile) on any nodes to mark on it.
Sneak peek of Faithful Devil! Faithful Devil is a unique character whose fate is entangled deeply with Holy Monk, Wukong, and Swine King.
Faithful Devil is a master of manipulating the card flow with exhausting cards. He can absorb five elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth) and stored in his Skeleton Rosary. We will reveal how to use these elements later!

Dev Log #047: 2023-02-09
This week, we added the first version of Mod support, made adjustments and enhancements to existing content, and made bug fixes. We are also in the progress of implementing card logic for the new hero: Faithful Devil.
Mod is now available! We only support changing card assets for now, but we will gradually open up more functionality! Please visit our Github for more details. Meanwhile, we provided a Mod example in our workshop community: If you subscribe to it, you would see two cards assets changed as shown below.

Happy Chinese New Year!
This week, we added 5 brand-new side stories, adjusted and balanced 14 neutral cards, some relics, event choices, and bug fixes.
Prison Break - this was when the Monkey King was captured and sealed in the Furnace of Heaven. The Monkey King must defeat the High Taoist God and beak the Furnace within seven turns to survive.
Book of Death - In his early days as Monkey King, Wukong went to Hell and stole the Book of Death to protect his kin from death.
We adjusted the initial deck, relic, and consumables for “Kill the Skeleton Queen within three turns” and “Desert Kings,” aiming for a better user experience.
We added a new side story, “The Final Trial ”, for Holy Monk.
In the novel Journey to the West, the team finally arrives in Soul Mountains after finishing 80 challenges. However, to complete the journey, they now have one final trial left, making “81” challenges - the ideal number in Buddhist Mantra.
We adjusted the initial deck, relic, and consumables for “The New Story of Lady White” and “Travel with Death.

Two new side stories for Swine King:
At the Spring of Nine Suns - in the Journey to the West, Swine King wants to join the spider sister at the Spring of Nine Suns but ends up in a fight.
The Bull King Family is a story inspired by Swine King’s inspiration to seek true love. He helps Jade Princess to seek an answer from the Bull King Family.
Balance and Enhancement
We adjusted 14 neutral cards to improve the balance of the game.
We added an option (randomly appearing as one of four options) in the initial event - Stop 5 Cards from Appearing. Once selected, you can choose up to 5 cards from the Hero’s deck (75 possible cards that belong to this Hero) and ban them from this game.

This week, we officially released the Swine King to the public branch! The Swine King has unique storylines with his love of life, Goddess of the Moon. Come to check out their love story and give them a happy ending (or a bad ending)!
Formally known as the General of Galaxy in his previous life, Swine King starts with 2 initial relics. The Bottomless Stomach also grants him special ability to devouring consumables to accumulate hunger points.
Devouring consumables during combat:

Pick up to 5 consumables to devour
Click “confirm”!
Similar to other characters, Swine King has to meet certain conditions to enter the final chapter:
