This week, we focus on improving user experiences and game playability by polishing and balancing cards, NPCs, consumables and relics, fixing bugs, and working on English localization for the final chapter.
We also polished final end scenes with different endings. Currently there are 37 different story endings, try to see if you can unlock them all!

This week, we focus on polishing and balancing final chapters (especially the latest Omen storyline), and fixing a lot of bugs.
Development Plan
For the next 3-4 months, we are going to mainly focus on couple of top priorities:
Improving playability: We plan to release multiple batches of improving and balancing for existing content (all cards, NPCs, consumables and relics, story mode and endless ode) to improve overall game playability
New Character: we will focus on the design and implementation of the new character - The Swine King.
Mod: We plan to support full Mod capability by the end of year, and continue improving and enriching it.
Card redesign: as we announced earlier, we are redesigning all existing cards (375+ cards) to improve user experiences.
Mod Update
We were able to solve the communication issue between the game and the Steam Mod server, so now users are able to upload Mod to Steam workshop. As of the next step, we are working on enabling downloading features.

This week we added chapter 4 achievement localization; and we are currently working on English localization for chapter 4.

Introduction to the Plane of Eternity
The Plane of Eternity is the final chapter that you can enter after defeating Hell Emperor at the end of Chapter 3. The Plane of Eternity is the home and prison of Omen - the immortal being formed by all the sins, pain, hate, and other negative emotions produced by souls around the world. The seal of five elements was broken and the Omen was partially released and started its negative influence on the world, creating war, chaos and killings.
In order to save the world from emerging evil, you will partner with the Goddess of Mercy to rebuild the seal of five elements to seal the Omen - however, this is not an easy task - you need to face your own desires and sins, and make the right decision.

Divinity Chronicles: Journey to the West is self-funded by our own savings and we invest all of our time and passion in it. However, due to the low sales volume after its first early-access in March, we are currently struggling to get our ends meet. In order to sustain the game development, the team has to take multiple part time work to get funding for the significant amount of investment in art and music in the final chapter and future characters. With the limited and uncertain funding we have now, we have to push the development timeline for 2 new characters to early next year.
As we are sorting out our financial plans, we are also aiming to release the final chapter - Omen storyline for all 3 characters at the end of August to pre-release branch. Please help us by referring our game and OST to friends who like indie games, and let’s finish the journey together!

We finished the code supporting Mod uploader, but we are still blocked by the unknown communication issue with Steam Workshop. More specifically, the upload process does not receive callback messages from Steam.
We’ve contacted the Steam Workshop support team many times but they went unresponsive last week. So we need to spend more time on our side investigating the root cause of the blocker. Once we identify the root cause, we will be able to establish the mod property.

Introduction to Soul Mountains
Soul Mountains is the final chapter that you can enter after defeating the Fallen Phoenix in the end of Chapter 3.
Based on your encounters and choices before, you will be able to collaborate with Golden Eyebrows and Fallen Phoenix, encounter the Goddess of Cruelty (Goddess of Mercy’s sister) in elite combat, confront the High Buddha, defeat the ultimate evil, and choose the true love for Holy Monk!
Conditions to enter Soul Mountains:
Wukong: Collaborate with Golden Eyebrows, or Evil, or Good and not directly confront the Demons during your journey;
White Dragon: Collaborate with Golden Eyebrows, or Evil, or Good;

After we released Final Chapter: Heaven for beta testing last week, we received a lot of suggestions from the community, and we are polishing it accordingly. This week, we are implementing the 2nd storyline: Soul Mountains, working on building mod tools, as well as balancing and bug fixes.
As we are struggling with funding, we are planning to launch crowdfunding campaigns (e.g. Kickstarter, Patreon) to find new funding sources to support our development of new characters (Swine King and Faithful Devil) and card redesign project. We will share more details soon!
