We're still working on the content of the main storyline but guest packs & UX improvements are making a nice boost next week!
We'll be publishing the SCORING update, which features:
- Scoring local, worldwide, among Steam friends
- Nice clean UI & UX at the end of every game + in arcade menu + in escape menu during the game to show leaderboard
- Improved stats with perfects, frags, hits, etc. at the end of the level
- 3 new guests! Not making too much noise right now but we'll be showing music gameplay video next week!

The HELLGATE UPDATE is live!
It's full of awesome stuff, here they are:
Features
Hellgate with 3 starting tracks: Kammthaar (Ultra Vomit), The Scarecrow Paradox (Fundamental Wisdom Of Chaos), Cold (Hell In Town)
The Furnace (opt-in beta on gameplay options to play it), a roguelite mode!
Better zombies warning. You now have red spikes on up or down when they're approaching the car.
Better boss warning. You now have big arrows with directions popping
Huge optimization. The game should be 3x more stable for everyone. Please keep reporting if you have issues.

We still have big work to do around The Furnace mode, scoring systems & stuff and we should have 3 more awesome songs coming in the June Update. Also, your support has been incredible so far, be sure that we're listening to your feeback! It's far from over and the Story mode is also making good progress among the team.

HELLGATE UPDATE Incoming > Ultra Vomit + Hell In Town +Fundamental Wisdom Of Chaos
We have to tell the truth, we hid something from you. When we announced the Hellgate Update last week, we wanted to keep the surprise. One of the biggest French Metal band called Ultra Vomit will be playable in the Hellgate with their song Kammthaar. Remember we’ll also get the excellent The Scarecrow Paradox & Cold as well! (they’re super awesome songs!)
We will be live-streaming with Manard (Drummer of Ultra Vomit) on Thursday 30 May, 8.30pm GMT+1 on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/djboucherie). The update will be live in the afternoon.

Announcing HELLGATE UPDATE + Early Access Roadmap
Hello Headbangers! We’re revealing our next update the HELLGATE UPDATE. It may come at the end of May along with the slick prototype of the Infinite Mode. We’re also revealing our Roadmap in today’s post!
Early Access Roadmap
We’re super careful about announcing dates so please, please DON’T TAKE THIS FOR GRANTED. Game development is a rocky craft that always takes more time than planned. We truly believe in being open but it also means potential delays.
Here is the order of our NON GRANTED BUT WANTED updates:
Hellgate Pack 1 + Alpha Infinite Mode
Hellgate Pack 2 + Beta Infinite Mode
Infinite mode v1.0 + Chapter 4
Hellgate Pack 3
Chapter 5
Hellgate Pack 4
Chapter 6 (and thus, 1.0 Release = out of early access)

We’re also continuously improving the UI & UX because we still have feedback around that.
THE HELLGATE OPENS SOON
Our first big update will be the opening of the HELLGATE! The first two bands to get introduced in the Hellgate are Hell In Town with Cold and The Fundamental Wisdom Of Chaos and their song The Scarecrow Paradox. It’s only the beginning because we are talking with even bigger bands to get them in the game!
The Hellgate is a much more complete and “safe” experience, a bit like you could enjoy in Guitar Hero! It’s a bit more expensive for us but it ensure that good bands with good levels are in the game.

TO THE INFINITE AND BEYOND
Blackmagic & Gyhyom are working on a new game mode that some of you may heard about. We're calling it "Infinite mode" right now, but is it metal enough?
We still have a lot of undecided options on this mode such as if we should make short version of music tracks to make this mode "faster". But the prototype is already being started so hopefully, we can show something within the next weeks or so.
To finish, I’d say this is a big push from the team who wants to diversify the game and make it even more appealing for different kind of. This is only the sprout of what could be a great tree (a gloomy death tree, obviously).

Update #28: New fixes and difficulty tweaks
- removing steam overlay for users so we can track down memory leaks properly
- rebuilt gfx quality system so it doesn't get messy
- fixes some trex crashes when a shot hit the mob after disposal
- fixes when trex get killed before phase 2 ( on rock difficulty for example )
- fixes for duplicate partition allocations
- detected some leaks quite obvious on 1-5 but impossible to understand where it does come from, we are investigating.
- 2-3 will behave properly when plance gets shot after all notes are terminated.
- added some credit elements
- 2-1 metal slightly easier
- boss 1-5 launch his final attack later
Also we'll be announcing our roadmap for the next months pretty soon.
News after the storm
Thank you to everyone who helped us fix the crashes & bugs in the last few days! The team is still working pretty hard to improve the game.
Elmobo (composer) is putting the music on different platforms and has started making new songs for the game.
Gyhyom (art director) is improving the store page because we realized some countries are converting sales poorly compared to others.
Blackmagic (coder) is pushing at least one update every day to avoid crashes and optimize the game. He works kinda late recently to help with those last first weeks of Early Access.
I (marketing) am at EGX Rezzed in London to show the game to British! Blackmagic and I will also be at Play by Pax (Paris) to show the game. Next convention after that will be Stunfest (May, in Rennes, France).
Sales wise, the game has been doing OK but we expected a lot more obviously. We have some difficulties to reach countries other than France and China so we'll keep working on making Double Kick a world wide game!
We have a few features & stuff in the pipeline that are really awesome, I promise you that. We have to discuss internally what we can say about our roadmap (next features intended).
The team is also discussing about what should be put first among the feedback you've requested. Future content is also heavily discussed.

Our story mode is roughly 4 hours long and made of 3 chapters. 3 more will come during the Early Access. It's a good way to uncover the stories of the main headbangers. You'll travel all around the world with some freaking good heavy metal, what's better than that, HUH?!
