Hey Everyone,

Tonight we've got a pretty big patch lined up, with a new weapon, big improvements to AI, graphics, performance - and of course, plenty of bugfixes!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added the UZI Personal Defence Weapon
-Firing 9mm box rounds, the UZI is an effective close-quarters primary weapon. With a very controllable 600RPM rate of fire, and a higher effective range than the Vityaz, the UZI is a solid choice for short range combat.
-The UZI has a high spawn rate in guard towers & at the Old Airfield
  • Added the UZI mag
  • Decreased snake health damage amount by 50%
  • Improved grassy terrain textures
  • The playable area now can only move a maximum of 100 units per tick (previously it was moving >200 on a bad decrease)
  • Reduced adrenaline spawnrate in medical spawners
  • Weapons can now spawn in worse condition
  • Moved AI over to new character model & animations
  • Influence events (eg. "Russian weapons have arrived in x") are now a LOT more potent

  • Painkillers now restore health over time, as opposed to instantly

  • Nerfed MK16 hipfire accuracy by 50%
-Previously, the MK16 was almost always a better choice than the M4, due to lower recoil, and higher general accuracy.
  • Improved Depth of Field effect so that it actually applies depth of field
-It's almost worth paying 3ms/frame for now!

Bug fixes

  • Various explosion shader optimizations (performance, visuals)
  • Fixed AK holding animation
  • Fixed GIF-spam in chat when recording a GIF
  • Fixed Animation blending artifacts on lowest graphics settings
  • Tons of AI fixes and improvements (pathfinding, looting, behaviour, combat)

Update 0.6.9 - Introducing the G18

Hey Everyone,

For our second update in "Gun Week", the G18 is making its appearance in Down To One. With the most recoil of any gun in the game when firing in fully-automatic, it's sure to test your reflexes!
On top of that, we've got a big nerf to snakes, that should move them into more of a "pest" role, as opposed to their current "more dangerous than a player with a melee weapon" role :) Oh, and now you can record GIFs with the click of a button!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added the G18 Pistol
-Firing 9mm rounds, the G18 is the first selectable fire-mode pistol in Down To One. When set to full auto, it will fire its 17-bullet clip at a blazing fast 1100 RPM, although with a steep damage dropoff and uncontrollable recoil, you will need to be up close to your enemy.
  • Added the G18 Mag
  • Decreased snake health damage amount by 50%
  • Increased size of snake hitboxes
  • Decreased snake health by 25%
  • Increased snake thirst damage amount by 2
  • Decreased snake movement speed
  • Added GIF recording - simply hit F9 (default) to start and stop recording a GIF!
  • Added !ping command
  • Buffed the heli crash spawner (spawns more items quicker)

Bug fixes

  • Fixed issue with large black pixel artefacts appearing on bright surfaces
  • Added in a potential fix for the positions of items being incorrect on clients that have joined the game late
  • Reduced snakes tendency to glitch-jump at you
  • "Use Voip" setting now actually works properly, and will give you a performance increase in servers where there are a lot of people talking (if you have it off, of course)
  • Improved start-up time
  • Re-enabled static batching (optimization)
  • Fixed instances of server not always restarting

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added the AUTOMAG 44
-Firing .44 AMP rounds, the AUTOMAG is an extremely accurate pistol at range, and can deliver a 3-shot takedown to the chest at ranges up to 110m. Be careful though, it's also got some pretty insane recoil, and only 7 shots in a mag, so you'll have to place your shots well!

  • Decreased horizontal spread on the MK16
  • Decreased bleed severity of all sniper rifles

Bug fixes

  • Fixed "You placed 11 out of 10" messages
  • Decreased helicopter stutter
  • Fixed bug where bloodbags could 'supercharge' your hp
  • Made drawers easier to loot from
  • Added more error handling & logs server-side
  • Wallclip-prevention no longer happens whilst dead

Update 0.6.6 - Spring Cleaning

Hey Everyone,

Tonight's update adds in a ton of new improvements & fixes, and introduces an "exploration" variation gamemode for practice servers!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added "Explore" mode for practice servers
-Ever wanted just to explore the map, and get to learn the best loot spots without worrying about the playable area or hunger & thirst? Explore mode stops the playable area from decreasing, and your hunger and thirst levels decrease significantly slower.
  • Various small tonemapping & bloom visual improvements and optimizations
  • Increased light range on mines
  • The "Play Dead" perk now looks a little bit more convincing
  • Increased max item spawn amount in some residential spawners
  • Decreased delay between spawns in some residential spawners
  • More ladder improvements (they are actually a lot easier to get onto now)
  • The weapons crate chopper now drops at a much more reliable time in the round - from 3-6 minutes in (down from 3-10)
  • Clamped playable area maximum movement speed, to prevent some of the super fast decreases
  • Added more snakes to practice mode
  • Added warning pole to minefield near old airfield
  • Server admins can now live-ban players

Bug fixes

  • Fixed laser/smoke signal on the playable area from not reaching the ground sometimes
  • Fixed "Grid of dots" when running on low with an AMD GPU
  • Anti-wallclip mechanic now works more reliably
  • Fixed "You can rejoin the server...." message from getting spammed incorrectly
  • Fixed inventory keybinds still accepting input whilst chatting
  • Fixed thrown grenades disappearing after 3 metres
  • Changed the way batching works in Down To One, to use dynamic instead of static batching
-Previously, static batching was causing large portions of the map to be redrawn when they didn't really need to be. In theory this change should improve performance, but let us know what your FPS is now, and whether you've seen an improvement after this patch!
  • Snakes are now less likely to glitch up to you
  • Fixed in-game menu scaling issues at different aspect ratios
  • Morrrrrrre AI pathfinding changes

Tonigh's update sees some changes to the playable area, improvements to audio, and more!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added red smoke signal to show where the playable area is moving towards
-Previously, it was a bit hard for new players to know where the playable area was heading every round. This change should help make its direction a lot clearer, so players can plan our their round.
  • Added reminder message for when you are bleeding for over 30 seconds
  • Reduced bush sound volume
  • Improved distant bullet sounds & audibility
  • Added "-continuous" as a server option, to let players join/rejoin anytime throughout the round
