Hi all!

The weekly challenge update has been released and is available to download!

Today's challenge is another creation from Vigamus Academy students, a big round of applause for a great job to Matteo Franco, Alessia Giammarino and Gioele Casazza creators of the "Up & Down" challenge.

We are focusing all our efforts on Downward’s full release, scheduled for next week July 13th.
Just a few more days before you will be able to discover new awesome contents!

Multiple Endings anyone?

Hi guys,

How’s everyone’s summer going? Did you find some good deals in the Summer Sales? :)
Here we are working frantically towards the full release, now less than two weeks from us (July 13)!
We thought this was a good moment for a big announcement: the Full Release will introduce the game Three Endings!
Will you save the world? Or leave it to its own demise? Or… well, that’s a secret!

Hints:
1. Look around [this was easy]
2. Don’t be shy, socialize with NPCs [easier said than done]
3. Drink milk: calcium is good for your BONES [what?]
4. Go around touching stuff you don’t know how it works, that will surely help you, right? [right…]

Nvidia Driver Issue HotFix!


Hi, all!

After intensive investigations, and thanks to the advice of Epic Games, we have been able to address the driver-related issue that some Nvidia users were experiencing.

A new build with this hotfix has been just released and is available to download!

We tested the new build with latest Nvidia drivers 384.76 and no issue has been found.

Now we look forward to the Full Release which is approaching!

Today's challenge is another creation from Vigamus Academy students, a big round of applause for a great job to Enrico Consiglio and Alessio Di Pietro creators of the "Illusion" challenge.

About the Nvidia drivers issue: drivers 384.76 released yesterday, unfortunately, are still broken.
We reached out to Epic Games which is currently helping us working on a workaround for this problem.

  • Added an in-game Tip explaining the feature of activable crystals once one is activated.
  • Added Skypieces rewards for deactivating Laser Turrets.
  • Improvements to the in-game Tips system:

    • Fixed a bug that caused Tips to overlap each other.
    • Fixed a bug that caused a wrong Tip duration on-screen.
    • "Game Saved" Tip will not be displayed if another Tip is already on-screen.

  • Improvements to both Main Menu and Pause Menu navigation:

    • Added backward navigation by pressing the "Escape" button.

Downward Full Release Date!

Hi guys,
Caracal team is glad to announce that Downward will officially enter Full Release on the 13th of July!!

It’s been a long road together, and thanks to everyone’s feedback we had the chance to improve the quality of the game many times over. [By all means, continue to send us feedback if you have any!]
With the full release, we will deliver the final part of the story, together with unlocking the last planet and the new areas to explore.
Even after the full release, we will continue to support Downward with hotfix and improvements!

As that will mean the end of the Early Access, the current price of the game will be increased to match the level of contents present in the game at that point. As we are currently in the midst of the Summer sale, we advise all people curious to take advantage of the sales!

For all Linux users: the Linux full version of the game will be delivered shortly after the 13th of July, thanks for your patience.

CRASH SOLUTION!

Hi guys,

if someone is experiencing crashes at the beginning of the game: don't panic!
Your PC is ok and the game too;)
After hard working we found that the problem is drivers-related, you can fix this easily installing this drivers version:

Downward is not the only game victim of this, fortunately this is a relative fast workaround to enjoy Downward at best.

One last thing!
For all our long-time players, we strongly recommend to erase this folder:
Steam\steamapps\common\Downward\Engine\Saved

By doing this you will erase some engine-related save files that occasionally conflict with the newer versions of the game!

Check out this Downward Speedrun: this is the actual main quest's world record for this version, Psp4804 is a long time MEC speedrunner and an experienced player of Downward, he also kindly collaborated with us during these crazy months, giving us a lot of feedback from a professional speedrunner's point of view.

Extended Exploration Update v0.80



Hi, all!
The new update has been released and is available to download!

This week we have been totally focused on the recent feedback we received from the community.

Among the other features, we added a new system which displays the current zone name, collectibles are easier to spot in the distance and we worked on the navigation compass and now the exploration and free roaming should be more satisfying and engaging than ever.

With this update, we also moved to v0.80!
