Hey Everyone!

Just a quick update to let you know that hotfix 24 is live! Amongst other changes, you will now find that that Thursars will correctly fall beneath your mighty weapons :-)

- Fixed unkillable Thursars in the Survival mode
- Lumberjack axe material fix (lobby scene)
- Fixed trolls stopping on spawners
- Fixed StoneSkin tech now only available for miner class to research
- Fixed building on top of other buildings
- Fixed for Miner units not having access to all of its Machinery after miner tutorial.
- Fixed for playing basic tutorial after miner tutorial
- Fixed mine block at edge of grid selection (miner tutorial)
- Fixed Alban level 2 price from 450 to 150
- Updated passive effect descriptions

Patch 5 is now live!

Hey everyone!

The latest patch is now live and brings a number of changes, read on to find out more!

Something we really want to highlight is that we have removed the friend pass limit! This mean you can now play UNLIMITED games of survival with your friends! You said it was important to you and we took that on board.

Tutorials:
- New Miner Tutorial: Follow Nubbs on a excavation in the Northern parts of Agartha pre-campaign.
- Temporary disabled warrior/builder tutorial (outdated)

AI Improvements:
- Improved AI's Map Objectives control (Overworld only for now)
- Some priority balancing, in particular to make miner more reliable as well as warrior troll farming

Improved Pathfinding:
- Less frequent skipping and twitching when moving
- Units will be more responsive when given orders during combat
- Less movement in combat if a suitable target is within striking range
- Removed weird slow area on the corners of Two Mountains
- Fixed RVO for spawned units

Improved Thane Leveling system:
- Each Thane now has strategic choices for each level, changing their ability and skills.
- Two choices per level.
- Description of all Thane's choices, including info on the abilities they got
- Balancing to Thanes
- Balancing to Quar cost per level

Buildings:
- Construction sites: Queuing a building will now place a construction site and send all selected builders to build it.
- Iron defences: Iron Walls, Gates and Towers can be unlocked with Lockstone and helps you defend against serious attacks.

Tech Rework:
- New technology resource: Gilver, obtained from a new recipe on the transmuter that mixes gold and silver

Updated tech:
- 'Cone Attack': Changed to give skirmishers 5% more attack power
- 'Explosive Shots': Changed to give Canoneers 10% more attack power
- 'Dwarven Settlement': Now increases max unit capacity to 120 (standard decreased to 90)
- 'Pre-Fabricated machinery': Build machinery 50% faster (down from instantly being built)
- 'Unlock Willowshade': Now unlocked automatically when building a granary
- Removed Trollsblot

New tech:
- 'Dwarven Kingdom': Increases max unit capacity to 150
- 'Dried Mushroombar': Increase movement speed of all miner units by 15%
- 'Stone Skin': Increases all miner units HP by 25%
- 'Runic Drillhead': Geologist mine blocks 25% faster
- 'Scrap Plating': Increase all miner units armor by +10
- 'Ability: Sprint': Unlock Sprint ability for Shieldbearers, Increasing their movement speed by 50% for 6s
- 'Unlock: Iron Hand': Iron Hands must be researched before they can be trained in the Pit
- 'Unlock: Iron Gunner': Iron Gunners must be researched before they can be trained in the Pit
- 'A Pick me up': Increase movement speed of builder units by 15%
- 'Steel Rebar': Gives all Towers 5 Armor
- 'Dwarven Building Plans': The Builder builds buildings 40% faster
- 'Infused Ales': Increase the Brewmasters healing to 3% per second
- 'Unlock: Iron Defences': Unlocks Iron Defences

Map Improvements:
- All maps removed Trollsblot
- Balanced the resource amounts, in particular ensuring starting areas are more similar
- Some layout changes for viability. All maps except Two Mountains

Survival Improvements:
- Troll waves and timings
- Layout changes with better defensive options in underworld starting areas (Southern Gate and Black Scar)

Balancing:
- Stat changes on towers
- Cost change on The Pit and Explosive Hut
- Balanced Farming resources: Khorozan Wheat now grows quicker, but yields less resources than Malabar grain.
- Balanced Brewing resources: Brewing resources now has additional uses in class based Technology: Willowshade for Builder, Angelcap for Warrior and Phlegg for Miner.

Other improvements:
- Toned down healing aura VFX and Albans VFXs
- New lockstone recipe
- Updated machinery textures

Tips to take your game to the next level!

Greetings fellow dwarves!

We have been posting some small bite sized tips on our Discord ( btw you should join ) and our social media sites, We wanted to flesh the tips out a bit and share them with you!

We have categorized them for you by class, let's get to it!



Builder tip

Some buildings take longer to build,or you know the enemy is approaching and need to put up a tower super quick for defense! What do you do? Use multiple builders to build super quick! The more builders the faster it goes!

And with our next patch you can select multiple units and place a building and all of them will go and start building it!



Miner tip

A great way for the Miner player to help in ways other than gathering resources is putting up Torches for vision! They can be placed in the underworld and in the overworld so you can see your enemy coming before it's too late!!



Warrior tip

Want to help gather food, gold and iron for the team? Go kill the Thursar trolls in the different camps! For some extra income, use the Mercenary’s Opportunist ability, or the new Troll Hunter units that are extra effective against the Thursars.

Community Challenge



**We have updated the rules slightly on 17/02/2021 to include a requirement to show the amount of resources gathered**

Who is up for a challenge!?

From now until 23:59 CET on Sunday 21.02.21 we are challenging you to build as many town halls as you can on The Black Scar map!

The rules!

  • Start a sandbox single player game on The Black Scar map
  • Build as many town halls as you can in 60 minutes
  • Take a screenshot of the amount of resources you have collected and the end screen showing how many town halls you have built, and the total game time (game time can be off by a margin of 15 seconds max). We will check the number of town halls built tallies with the resources gathered.
  • Submit your (hopefully winning) screenshot to the Discord channel here


The Prize? The winner will get a code for the golden skins exclusively available with the supporter pass.

Pineleaf Studio devs will be queuing in conquest mode ready to take on any and all challengers. It's up to YOU our dear community, to put their smug selves in their place! This is a rare and most coveted achievement (less than 0.1% of DwarfHeim players have this achievement) so be sure you're on your A game!

DwarfHeim Patch No. 4

Rejoice, Inhabitants of Agartha!



We are finishing out the last week of January with DwarfHeim's 4th Early Access Content Update, containing more improvements and additional content.

Patch No. 4 completes the content we planned to add in January 2021 for DwarfHeim's Early Access Road Map and v0.10.5.5 is now live!



In previous weeks we made a lot of changes and improvements;

  • Large scale balancing
  • Improved Profanity filter
  • Improved "Invite friend" function
  • Improved the new build menu
  • Settings Changes Improvements


As well as Bugfixes:

  • - Fixed an issue on the profile screen which made it so you only would get stats based on your 15 last matches.
  • - Fixed an issue with how ranged attacks are calculated, removing issues with tower targeting "unreachable" targets.
  • - Fixed Global Chat Message Error, which caused unwanted pop-ups.
  • - Fixed an issue with "Dwarf" showing in the VGS system instead of relevant key.
  • - Improved pathfinding in certain corner-cases by removing tree's on Cliffside and Black Scar.
  • - Possible fix for Friend-pass users getting disconnected during loading.

Improved leveling system:



  • - Players now get rewards through playing online matches

  • - 5 Additional Warrior units that can be specialized in the Barracks and the Pit.
  • - Troll Hunter: A Armored eco unit, The Troll hunter deals additional damage to Trolls as well as gaining more resources from slaying them.
  • - Hired Spear: A Fast unit, stronger than the Mercenary equipped with a deadly spear.
  • - Rifleman: A Ranged unit, stronger than the Arbalist equipped with a rifle.
  • - Cannoneer: A Ranged Siege unit, Wielding a Dwarven Hand-cannon that deals additional damage
  • - Iron Gunner: A Ranged Siege unit, A Dwarven champion with a Dwarven Siege cannon, must spend time setting it up before it can fire. Can deal melee while moving.


Improved invites:



  • - You can now join, and invite friends to matches through steam, as well as on the play menu.


Improved Friend-pass:



  • - Improved stability

We have another game update and hotfix ahead of the weekend along with a massive balance!

Hotfix 21 v0.10.4.23 Is now out!

Important! For this hotfix, we've done a large scale balancing in preparation of next weeks patch. For this reason please help us test and give us feedback on Discord so that we can address any issues before the upcoming patch.

- Improved the Profanity filter by cleaning the "bad word" list as well as fixed a bug that allowed some players to get around the profanity filter

- Improved "Invite friend" function: You can now invite friends and join players through the steam panel.

Hi everyone!

The first Hotfix after the new patch is now live! Which makes this Hotfix no. 13!



We have done the following:

Balancing:

Rally villagers Technology
- Decreased damage increase from 300 to 250
Mercenary
- Decresed opportunist reward from 2x to 1.7x
- Increased cooldown of opportunist from 1s to 5s
Lumberjack
- Decreased damage from 18 to 15
Farmer
- Increase damage from 20 to 25
Reina
- increased building, farming, woodcutting and repairing speed from 1.3 to 1.5
- Increased attack range from 0.5 to 2
Alban:
- Increased cooldown of Master brewer from 1s to 5s
Raven:
- Increased cooldown of Bulk up from 1s to 5s


Bug fixes

- Unit Freezes: Units no longer have a chance to get completely stuck during attack move or construction
Technology Targeting: Stat-increasing technologies now only applies to the deliverate unit types again
- Ore Chunk Yields: Raw ore chunks now only yield stone, instead of it's contained resources as intended. (Fixed in multiplayer modes only atm.)
- Building Groups: Control group adding (shift+#) for buildings re-added. ("Feature, not a bug", they said)
- No Chunked Quar: Quoar no longer obtained from stone and ore chunks
- Quar 'o plenty: Quar no longer obtained in too large quantities by the Warehouse.
