It's been seven months since the release of an initial version of Elven Assassin.
There was quite a lot of work done since then which is nicely reflected by the increasing rate of positive reviews and by the number of players playing the game.
We thought it is a nice time to share with you the Road Map of the development. We will be updating this after the next updates will be published.
We also plan to increase the price after Easter holiday.
The Elven Assassin will cost 10$ then, which is 2$ more.

Today Elven Assassin reached TOP 4 on VRLFG (multiplayer).

Update 1.0.12 - Equipment Shop
Equipment Shop Stand
We are happy to announce we have finished the “Equipment Shop”. This task escalated quickly from a simple shop with bows to the nice stand with bows, helmets and rate sets. To make it in its current state it required a lot of polish so that is why it took so long. Nevertheless, we hope you like it.
To take a look at it, just teleport to the stand on the right. After you buy something in the shop you are automatically equipped with purchased items and you can see how you look in this equipment using the medieval mirror.
Earning Gold
Before we get to know what legendary items are currently available, you need to know how to earn the gold coins. The best way to do it is to collect the gold dropped by the orc warriors upon their death. Mind that not every orc possess gold. Also, the elite orc warriors like axe man are more likely to carry some gold then the ordinary orcs and a number of coins is bigger.
The other way is to get your reward for the loyalty. Each different day you are launching the game to fill your elven assassin’s duties you are getting your pay. To get you reward just take the bag with coins laying on the middle table.
Equipment Catalog
For the convenience of elven assassins, the catalogue was created. It much simplifies the price comparison and learning about legendary items legacy. It is available below.

Update 1.0.11-New bosses + Human Castle Improvements
Some of the things that we were working lately are ready & published.
The update covers two main things requested by the community
1. Too little variety of enemies on the later waves
2. Improve the gameplay on the castle map.
There is lot more to come very soon :)
Green dragons
The green dragons are usually used to protect the orcish gold. Nevertheless, if the orcs footmen are ineffective for too long the orc chieftain may decide to use one of them against the defenders. The green dragons are equipped with golden armor that makes them extra hard to kill.
Black war troll
The black war troll was kept by orcs until the day of the final battle. His thick skin and heavy steel helmet make him very hard to take down without using advanced magic.
Difficulty system adjustments
We have adjusted the difficulty both on the Village and Castle. Now the waves with bosses are harder and the wave following the boss wave is easier. That’s why you should focus as much as possible on the boss waves and have some rest during the wave following the boss wave.
Now all the bosses (including the red dragon) appear in the Single-Player mode.
Castle Map Improvements
Starting tower: 1. Improved visibility of the left entrance and orcs on the bridge.
2. Improved visibility through the left middle gate. (possibility of shooting orc on the stairs)
3. Improved visibility through the right middle gate. (possibility of predicting when the orc appears in the gate)
Catapult Platform 4. Improved visibility through the left middle gate.
5. Improved visibility through the right middle gate - move the catapult and scale the monument. (possibility of predicting when the orc appears in the gate)
The Right Tower 6.Added the possibility of shooting the orcs in the center entrance (change the tree position and scale)
Cannon platform 7. Added the possibility of shooting orcs through the left middle gate.
8. Added the possibility of shooting orcs through the right entrance.
The Front Tower 9.Added the possibility of shooting the left the entrance.
10.Make the tower higher. (possibility of shooting the orcs on the front part of the map)

Update 1.0.10 - Green Wyverns join the orc forces again.
Although the green wyverns have been included in the orcs forces for a short time before, we needed to take them down as their animation of death wasn't improving the immersion.
Since then (a few months ago) we've been continuously testing and improving them.
In the current state, they are using adjusted ragdoll physics that make each of their death unique. We tried to achieve the most realistic and immersive movements.
That is why the wyvern falls down using the initial velocity of its fly, the force of an arrow and gravity combined to achieve that effect. While this creature is falling down you can notice their panic wings movements that do not prevent from the unavoidable fall.

Update 1.0.9 - No lags + better gameplay & graphics
When you find any issues please report this in the discussions, and we will try our best to fix it right away. The development of the game is active and we are continuously improving it following the advice of the community for which we are very grateful.
General Changes:
The previous system of moving orcs was recreated from scratch, to achieve much better performance. This took us quite a lot of time and introduced many new bugs which (hopefully all) have already been found and fixed. What's the most important, there won't be any lagging orcs anymore!
The arrow's trail renderers now match the color of the player.
Orc footsteps sound now finishes just after the orc is dead.
Add dust particles after the orc is dead.
Fixed bug when the master was pausing the orcs for others while being in the Vive menu.
Fixed bug when the player could cheat a time penalty after he/she was killed by the axe (by opening the menu).
Improved Oculus Touch support.
Main Menu:
Improved lights and shadows quality
Items on the table were reorganized for better accessibility
Spells teleport platform position was adjusted for better accessibility of items
The mass of the items on the table was adjusted so the interaction is more realistic.
Impact sounds were added to the items on the table
Fixed a bug with spells buttons working even if they were not visible
Added tutorial when you haven’t learned a spell yet and have a spare Spell Points
The image of the map type is displayed in the lobby
Fix the "stuck in the main menu" bug
Elven Town
Improved texture's quality of the platform floors
Terrain changed to a custom mesh. This significantly reduces the number of draw calls sent to GPU and thus improves the overall performance.
Changed the terrain texture so that the map looks much better.
The path of the dragon was adjusted for a better gameplay. Now you can shoot it comfortably.
The speed of the dragon was decreased when it is near the players. Now it's more likely you will be able to kill it before it burns you.
The environment near the far elven house was improved.
Anisotropic filtering was used on textures - this improves the quality of the textures.
Human Castle
First part of changes on castle map making the gameplay better. There was too little visibility of the orcs on this location and the gameplay was very chaotic. We have changed the archery platforms positions. This also gives a possibility of performing long distance shoots. We are now looking for the suitable place for the ballista. :)

Update 1.0.9 switched to beta branch
The today's update (1.0.9) was switched from the main branch to beta because someone reported that the performance got worse after the update. I will try to figure it out tomorrow.
If anyone would like to test the new version on the beta branch I would be very interested if there were any performance issues.
PS. To switch to beta you need:
1. Right click on the Elven Assassin game in steam
2. Click "Properties"
3. Select the "BETA"
4. Select "beta" from the dropdown
1.0.8 - Major Bow Mechanics Improvement
We've been working on the improvement of bow mechanics for quite a long time.
Finally, we can show it to you.
Here is the list of changes we made to accomplish that:
1.0.7 - The new difficulty system
This is the first attempt to create the new difficulty system (which was requested by the community)
The two requirements of the new system are:
1. The difficulty is not too steep even for the only one player. Until now the difficulty wasn't scaled accordingly to the player number.
It was too hard to progress through waves if there was only one player in the game.
The new formula significantly decreases the difficulty for 1 or 2 or 3 players playing.
The difficulty for 4 players stays as it was before.
2. The realism of the game is still preserved: When the player joins, your chances against the horde increase.
When the player leaves you will have more trouble in the next wave than before.
If you want to reach the highest wave it's wise to gather 3 skilled archers at your side than to try defense on your own. :)
Update 1.0.6 - Character Progression & Area Spells
From now on the Elven Assassin becomes more like RPG. Each round you are gaining more experience based on your contribution in killing orcs and the spectacularity of your shoots. Once the acquired experience increase your character level you are gaining a spell point that can be used to learn one of the fire element spells.
