Redesigned the Emergency System (This should hopefully fix the problem some people have been having forcing calls) Volumetric Clouds are off by default now (To save lower specs performance & prevent DX12 users from running into the black glitch) Redesigned the cool down option for the Emergencies to work as intended (Cool down will only last until the emergency is fully loaded to prevent anything from breaking the loop) All fire victims and roofs will be deleted when their respective emergency is cleared (This should fix the issue when you try to carry a character and they float in the air in place) First Person Camera when driving will now face forward by default (No need to adjust it every time) Fixed some sirens would be muted when pressing H Fixed the Key binding menu being behind other UI causing trouble accessing it

Hotfix 0.8.3B is Live!
*A note to all DX12 Players who have the black graphics issue, it has been reported that if you turn off Volumetric clouds in the weather UI (press f5 then first dropdown box under quality to none), the issue can be fixed. * 0.8.3B is live on all branches. Our second hotfix in 12 hours. This update fixes the game breaking issue where Emergencies would no longer come in as well as a dozen + other bugs reported to me by the community.

Welcome to Brooklyn, the Borough of Fire. Brownstones, Tenements, Taxpayers, Projects, Private Dwellings, Warehouses. Brooklyn is the opposite of Manhattan’s bustling streets, avenues, and highrises. The Bedford Stuyvesant/Crown Heights areas of Brooklyn are notorious for their volume of working fires each year.
What's New and What's Fixed?
Our main goal this update was to address the two main issues. Bad Performance, and Multiplayer. This update does just that. I was able to find the main components attributing to the lag and redesigned them to work more efficiently. The performance is day and night now for MUCH smoother gameplay. This is the optimization update everyone has been waiting for.
Second, we all know firefighting is not a one man job. It’s a team effort. The ways that we can simulate that in our game is via AI firefighters, or having your friends (or strangers) join you in a Multiplayer lobby to team up and work together. Multiplayer is a completely new and finally enjoyable experience. The lag, unsynchronized mechanics, and game breaking bugs are no more. The game runs as smooth as a single player game and 95% of all mechanics are synced and work as they should. Below you can find a full changelog of Update 0.8.3

Firstly I want to thank everyone who plays or has played this game. You guys have given me the opportunity to do what I am passionate about and what I am good at and I live a happy life to be able to wake up excited everyday to bring this vision to life. This is my life’s work and I am extremely proud of it. From the start, the game has received mixed reputations of being a laggy buggy mess, and that's fair. It was. This project has been a learning process for me and I can say confidently that I am much better at my job than I was in the past. Over the last 2 months I have learned so much when it comes to game development. Something in me just took over and my brain turned into a sponge. I learned how to code, I dug into the core of the game to find the main issues that would break the player’s experience. We all know what that is; game breaking bugs, unbearable lag, and a horrible multiplayer experience. But through these years of learning as I go, throwing a hail mary, and hoping for the best, literally dedicating my life to this. So many of you have seen the same vision that I have. Thank you, and I hope that this is the update that can really get the game to where it should be. At this point, I can confidently say that EmergeNYC is, without a doubt, the best Emergency/firefighting game/sim out. There have been many respectable attempts like Notruf 112, “Firefighting Simulator” which hasn’t posted a word since 2017, Into the flames, which is promising but still is years behind. I feel proud and honored to be the individual leading this genre right now.

I'm excited to officially announce that Brooklyn is coming to EmergeNYC. Our 3rd Free Map addition to the game is the result of a group of community members and I working together to bring this idea to life. Loosely based off the area we made for the Borough of Fire Modification for EM4, this map is a near 1 to 1 scale of the Bed Stuy area of Brooklyn, NY. This update will also be our biggest optimization and bug fix update yet. We reworked multiplayer from the ground up and eliminated all the performance issues associated with it. We were able to improve all aspects of multiplayer and the overall game is much better than last month's update.
We still have a few things to fix and get right before we release the update to everyone. We optimized many other parts of the game which means everyone all across the board should have better performance.
While better performance is a plus, the game looks much better. We added new post processing effects such as depth of field, and improved our already existing ones. On top of that, all emergency lights now reflect on the ground and on walls and other surroundings.
Traffic has been substantially improved with vehicles now moving out of the way of emergency vehicles and even if the car is coming at you head on. The overall multiplayer experience is much much better on all maps and we are really excited to give you all these fixes and improvements.
We have fixed nearly every bug reported to us and the overall experience is much more enjoyable overall.
Early April Development Update (PC Parts Raffle/Giveaway)
Good afternoon everyone just an update from our side. I bought a new PC yesterday after having issues getting my old one to boot and work properly over the weekend, so the next few days will be getting the project set back up on this new PC. If I were to sell some of the old parts (i.e RAM, GPU, Motherboard etc) Would anyone be interested? Maybe do a raffle or giveaway. Leave your ideas or feedback on the idea in the comments! Our next steps are to fix some remaining pestering bugs like the stuck in lobby issue and then focus on upgrading to Unity 2019 to fix the DX12 issues some of our AMD Users are having.

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all staying safe and enjoying the social distancing during these times of crisis. We just want to assure you all that the ongoing situation in the world is not hindering our development in any ways (as of yet). Update 0.8.1D just went live on all branches and fixed issues with not being able to spawn some FD, EMS, and PD Units, fixed not being able to use lights on a lot of the PD and EMS vehicles, as well as a bug where you could not close the garage doors on the firehouses. We addressed some multiplayer issues as well but those still need to be tested. Hope you are all enjoying the game and we are hard at work fixing bugs and implementing new content.
