Everyday Life Edengrall

V0.40.1.0 on Nightly

Features:
Added 21 new stone pieces
Press T to lock the grid and enable bird eye view for easier building placement
Added LOD Bias to the graphics configuration window. Lower values means the low fidelity mesh appears earlier. This also affects trees

Changes:
First round of LOD for 3 the city buildings as a test

Known Issues:
The bird eye view can get stuck on walls very rarely, press T twice to toggle it on and off again to reset it.

Friday Progress Report 256

Bird eye mode can be activated with T (rebindable), it allows building tall buildings without having to climb or move Adam at all.

We also added 21 new pieces, mostly large tower, these are some of the last stone parts, there are a few still missing, they will probably be ready by next week.

Large tower has 4 meter radius, enough for a decent room, it is the last tower size, at least for a long while. We are also working on buildable crop tiles, they should be done soon (only waiting for the implementation, model is done)

These will be up today in the nightly build.

The selection mode is also almost done, but it won't be on today's build, maybe next week. After the selection is done then copy and paste will be implemented.

We are also finally setting up the LOD models for the town's buildings, this will greatly increase FPS when outside the city.

Friday Progress Report 255

We are reworking the building hammer tool to allow selecting pieces for copy/paste/upload functions, the new system will allow to upload the whole building or just pre-built parts, but this will take at least two weeks to finish, as well as the new building pieces.

Large tower pieces form a 4 meter radius circle, big enough to be a room, we also modeled buildable crop tiles, so now you will be able to build farms anywhere, the functionality will be very similar to the small crop tiles from vases, so it is already half-implemented.

We want to release this update midway through June, it will have full Workshop support for uploading/download buildings, as well as the fix to the database that stalled the creation of sample mods.

V0.40.0.5 on Nightly

V0.40.0.4 on Nightly

V0.40.0.3 on nightly

New 45 building pieces including:
-Clay roof tiles with dark wood frames

Changes:
Rewrote how the XML are read, this will ensure future save modding compatibility, but it is also incompatible with previous saves.
Made so new crop tiles will have their starting water level equal to their target water level (river tiles will start at 30 instead of starting at 20 and moving towards 30)

Fixed offset pieces ignoring ground collision
Fixed an issue with the connection preview when there were too many connection points
Fixed a zfight issue caused by placing the building grid on a perfectly flat ground
Nerfed the bounce when NPCs face to talk to you
Fixed small UI errors in the building screen

Known Issues:
Save Is not compatible with previous versions

Friday Progress Report 254

The rewrite is finally done, some things are still wonky, but should be playable. Keep in mind that a new game is required to play since the database structure has been changed.

To play the alpha use the password “alphabranch1”

Keep in mind this version is not stable and further updates might break your save.

This version has the new building pieces, but the other building system upgrades are not done yet since we have been busy with the database rewrite.

We are also working on a new feature, Gathering will be a placeholder until proper exploration and extraction is implemented (which may take more than a year), this will allow players to spend energy and time to gain resources instead of having to use the shop for everything.

There will be a wooden cart outside the town that gives the forage prompt for foraging seeds, ingredients and wood and the mine door will give the prompt for clay, metal and stone.

Friday Progress Report 253

The new pieces are mostly stone parts, including medium tower and castellations, but also 11 clay roof tile parts with 2 more being worked on. These parts will be on the next alpha which will come out this week as soon as my brother finishes the rewriting of the xml importing system to fix the serious problems we found with it.

The game is probably less stable right now since we had to change fundamental parts of how several elements are saved so we will need some help testing once we release the next nightly build.

The building update is about 30% done, the xml rewrite was a big setback, we need now to finish:

-Improve building UI to expand and make it easier to find the pieces you want (since we have more than doubled the amount of pieces)
-Add snap-point furniture like doors and windows that snap into frames and can be interacted with
-Add Large tower parts (4 meter radius stone tower parts)
-Export buildings to the workshop

We will also add the mod samples that are 99% done and we haven’t released yet because of the rewrite as soon as we are sure everything is working.

V0.31.0.3 on Nightly

Features:
Added porridge recipe (Pot recipe).

Bugfixes:
Fixed major bugs on the quest system
Fixed major bugs on the relations system
Fixed bugs on the npc system
Fixed save issues with adding new ingredient tags
Fixed save issues with adding new ingredient effects

Friday Progress Report 252

While making sample recipe mods we found critical save-breaking bugs in the ingredient system, so we had to stop progress on that before the bugs are taken care of.

The bug is triggered when modding ingredients or recipes in an existing save, the ingredient tags and effects get scrambled, so avoid modding these until the next update!

We are also working on the next big feature of the building system, uploading buildings.

And we have implemented multi-tile pieces, this feature was required for the medium tower, since they occupy 1 tile and half, this is the main reason we haven’t released them yet despite being fully modeled and textured, but we do need to test these pieces more before releasing them, so it may take a few more days before we add the medium tower parts.

The recipe mod sample and the medium tower pieces should be ready and released during this week.
