V1.01.0 Update and launch announcement

Greetings executives, hope you are all enjoying the game?

Thanks to everyone who have been really helpful in the forums and pointed out a few launch day issues. The following has been corrected:

  • Music in the main menu now responds global music volume slider.
  • You can now remap the keyboard controls to better match your needs. This may also fix an error some people are having where they are constantly running left.
  • Trion Cannons should no longer be targeted by members of your own team.
  • You can now build iron extractors on iron patches the computer is going for too.
  • Mineral scan now lasts 20 seconds.


Urgent issues to be fixed:

  • A NAT facilitator error that crops up while connecting in multiplayer. The current work around is to restart the game (that may include the people joining you too).
  • Doors can sometimes be bypassed by units.
  • Overhaul the wiki page and help so that the game is easier to understand.

Features to add:

  • Some sort of formation system.
  • Stealing of crystals

There are a few more bugs here and there which I am currently scouring the forums looking for. If you do find any, please please please post to the bug sub forum else I might miss it in the general discussions.

I am also looking into an automated way of submitting bug reports so that you don't have to email me your log files, this will help with the occasional crashes that a few of you seem to be experiencing.

Also thank you to all of you who are making suggestions too, I may not answer all your posts but I do read as many as I can since you have taken the time to write them.

Releasing Executive Assault this Friday.

Hi Everyone,

Executive Assault will be fully released this Friday and it is thanks to the feedback that you have provided that I feel this is now possible. I will be maintaining my current level of support, so please continue to post your suggestions and bugs. Development will continue and I will be looking for people to beta test new ideas in the future, watch this space for updates.....

Thanks for your help in making Executive Assault what it is today; if all goes well you should be seeing the ExecuTrons in near future.

Minor BugFix V.09.2

Just a few minor fixes today:

  • Forcefields now have the right team allocated to them
  • Forcefields now use the correct power category.
  • Targeted deflection no longer slows down the game.
  • The research facility drop off point has now been moved to outside.
  • You can no longer build on top of units, you need to move them out of the way first.

Version 0.91

Hi everyone,

Version 0.91 bug fixes:

  • Energy barrier has had a lot of bugs fixed so should be easier to use.
  • Energy barrier now has an on and off switch.
  • Energy barrier now uses 50 energy and not 100.
  • Power station doors now have open and close options
  • Heavy bombers now work.
  • Heavy Invigilators no longer fly.
  • Lift is more stable in terms of pathfinding.
  • Troop transport has had a lot of bugs fixed too in terms of loading/unloading.
  • Unit Design menu now vanishes when another menu is opened.
  • I have removed the CEO password mechanic from the game for now.

Performance Upgrade

I have finally upgraded to Unity 5 which has sorted out the following:

  • Improved pathfinding: You should no longer see units/tanks driving through walls/buildings or units taking the long way around.
  • Optimisations: The game should now run a lot faster on slower systems.

You may notice a few things have changed too:

  • I have had to strip out the old terrain shader system as it was slowing down the game by almost 50%, however this means that some of the terrains might not look as nice as they did. This can always be fixed later as I felt that a frame rate increase was more important.
  • The trees may look a little odd as they have a few bugs that are currently being sorted by the good people at Unity.
  • Lighting has been changed so you may notice a few places too bright or too dark.
  • There is a new sound system so let me know if something is too loud or sounds odd.


Please let me know if anything broke during the transition.

Graphical options


One thing that was slowing down the Direct control mode was the ambient occlusion, some computers can handle it while others could not, now there is an option to switch it off in the graphical options menu.

I have also tweaked the presets so if you have been having slow down issues in the past, I highly recommend starting on the ‘Good’ preset and working your way up. ‘Good’ works on a GeForce GT 440 perfectly well against 3 other CEO’s.

New Features


I found during games that it was hard to tell if a CEO had been assassinated, well now in the glow of a thousand suns you will see their HQ explode after the self destruct is automatically initiated upon the CEO dying, giving you 1 minute to get your troops out of the building.

Pressing P will pause single player games.

In the works



  • Multiplayer will stay same for now as after upgrading I found out their new multiplayer system is buggy (woopy), so will be waiting for them to fix that before switching over.
  • ExecuTrons - Multiple humans on the same company with one person as the CEO.
  • Formations - So that all the units move together at the same speed
  • Scatter - Units to spread out a little
  • Infinite build - So you can just churn out your robotic army of doom.
  • Fixing the dodgy lifts - So units don’t fall out.

Update v0.88 - Minor update

Hi just a small update today, added some recommended additions to the game such as:

You can now group units using SHIFT + 1-9 and then recall the group using the corresponding number.

There is now a guard button so that you can tell a group of units to guard another.

Turret hardpoints have now been added to the heavy walls.

You can now zoom in and out using the Q and Z on the keyboard, handy if you are building a structure.

Safety doors shouldn't cause units to explode when they walk over it.

Version 0.87 - Hackerbot and updates

Hello Executives,

This update will add the Hackerbot. Researched under SpecOps and constructed at the robot factory directly from the command interface, this cloaked unit can sneak past enemy units undetected and will eventually be able to cause havoc.

Armed with its Hackpad, it can currently hack open doors, forcefields and the base door. This can only be done from direct control mode.

If the Hackerbot gets too close to an enemy unit, there’s a chance it may be detected. Also if the Hackerbot is shot, it will loose its cloak permanently. You can only have 1 Hackerbot at a time.

I have also added to the Powerstation and the robot factory controls that you wouldn't want the enemy to touch.

In the Powerstation if the cooling is switched off, it will cause the reactor to go into meltdown. You will then have 2 minutes to run down to the controls and switch the cooling back on before the reactor explodes in a small thermonuclear explosion. This explosion will destroy the Powerstation and kill any units within its 500meter radius. Only the CEO can switch the cooling back on. (This feature is only available on human built Power stations)

The robot factory has a few controls too as mentioned in the last patch allowing you to manufacture troops for your team.

Both are slightly experimental in terms of gameplay so I would love your feedback.

I have also added weapon animations, so you actually look like you're firing a gun now.

As always there are optimizations to help improve gameplay and performance.

Version 0.86 : Minor tweaks

Just a small patch tonight addressing a few niggling issues.

  • Drones no longer fight over the same resource
  • Can now control aircraft again
  • Units no longer attack units in the same alliance.
  • Improved graphics in CEO office.
  • Particle Pulse is now a tiny bit more powerful
  • Extractor upgrade now deals +1 per extractor rather than +5
  • Robot animations now work again over multiplayer.
  • Chairman CEO is now harder to defeat.

Version 0.85 - Allies and Cooperation.

Now you can not only join forces with rival corporations but also have cooperative multiplayer games against the AI!

In the game creation screen simply click on an open slot to choose the AI you want to play against just like in single player, also choose which team you would like to be on by toggling the number on the side. Let me know how this all goes as it's all a little experimental.

Added extra research for the Iron extractor. Now you can upgrade its armour, output and even throw a shield over it.

Selling now returns 50% Iron.

Basic lasers now have a new animation, let me know what you think.

I have also optimized a few more scripts to help speed things up, although you may still experience slow down when you are playing against 3 other AI’s. Will endeavour to continue to speed things up.

A little bug may have crept in where the interface might not appear, if this happens please let me know which one. To get around this you just need to wobble the mouse over where it should be. Also some input boxes may not display correctly. Both these issues are due to updates in the Unity software and have been reported.

Version 0.82

Hi everyone,

Graphical upgrades!

This patch will update the robot factory, corridors, vehicle factory, drone fabricator, air factory, security control room and power station with new graphics, do let me know what you think.

This patch should also help speed things up as I have gone through various scripts and graphics to help make them more efficient.

One final note and a little surprise for you all, I have begun the basics for the hacking system.

If you go into your company information you should see a company password box. This will allow you to setup the password for all your terminals. You will need to remember this if you want to access any of your facilities from the FPS mode.

Now if you press 'SHIFT' in FPS mode you will enter interaction mode which will bring up the mouse cursor allowing you to interact with command consoles. The only structure that has the system implemented at the moment is the Robot Factory with the following options:

  • Reset Exit Point - The exit point will be reset to its original position in front of the factory.
  • Activate Alarm - Sets off the facility alarm and calls all nearby friendly units to your location.
  • Construct Basic Unit - Constructs a basic unit under your command, resources will be deducted from the owner of the factory.

This is all very experimental so please let me know what you think.
