We've released 6 scary and fun Halloween skins for Fluffo, Theodor, Alya, Jane, Sir Pecks-a-Lot and Prince Edward. All avatars who received new skins will have the "New" sign on their icon in the Gallery.

New avatar and guide on how to create YOUR own avatar
Hello awesome folks,
We have amazing, marvelous, incredible news!
Following your requests, we’ve made a guide showcasing the complete creation and import process of a 3D FaceRig avatar. This is not an in depth tutorial for general 3D modelling techniques, instead it focuses on aspects specific to FaceRig avatars.
The avatar in this guide is a simple character, we did not to make it overly complex, as this is meant to help beginners.
NOTE: This video is a GUIDE that walks you through the steps of creating and importing a custom model into FaceRig. This is not a 3D art tutorial per se. You can find loads of tutorials online for every single 3D art step shown here. During the course of the guide we will point out certain FaceRig specific settings that must not be omitted .
Please read our documentation for creating a FaceRig avatar for detailed instructions and explanations. You can find it here:
IMPORTANT: For those of you who created their own avatars, and have an issue with the shadows, here’s how to solve it:
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FaceRig\Mod\VP\PC_CustomData\Objects
2. Select your avatar’s folder
3. (After going through the import process) copy “cfg” file and rename it as
cc_avatarexemplu.cfg
4. Open the file and delete everything in it
5. Write the command “set_avatar_scale 30” . You can chose whatever value you wish based on the hight you want for your avatar
All the best,
The FaceRig team

FaceRig Update - with Jaw Movement
Awesome folks,
We've just published a new update with great features on the default branch.
Check them out in the change log below:
<*> You can now crop your videos for the specific and we've also added two presets, one for Facebook cover video and one for Instagram (square aspect ratio).
Just go to Export movie -> Crop and select the platform you want.
Note that for the Instagram preset, you'll still need to convert the video file to something compliant with the platform.
select
<*>Added jaw left and right movement to the animation atomics based avatars. For best results, don't forget to calibrate.
<*> Moved the bubbles from the frog to the tobacco pipe and the straw, so now any character can blow out some bubbles (as requested from the community)
Have a great day,
The FaceRig team
New Avatar Prince Edward and updated FaceRig build 1362 - August the 24th 2017
Prince Edward of House Pond has honored us by joining the FaceRig's avatar roster. Some say a curse from his dark past has turned him into a frog, while others claim he's just using that myth to steal kisses from beautiful maidens. Whatever the truth may be, Edward is here with his top hat and bubble blowing pipe to complete your storytelling arsenal.
Watch his reveal vid here: youtu.be/02Nk0F3X86E?a
Edward likes sharing his new props, so you can start using his Patched Hat, Tobacco Pipe and a Straw on any of your favorite Avatars.
For all the talented 2D artists, we've added support for idle animation on Live2D avatars. To add a new idle animation you need to modify cc_avatarname.cfg by adding set_idle_anim avatarName "animation.mtn", very similar to the set_special_action_anim command. Note that the .mtn file needs to reside in the Motions/ folder of the avatar.
There have been reports of some glitchy behavior on the web background, mainly some error pop-ups and the default website not loading at all. All issues are fixed now, if you want to try the web background, just search the Environmnent Gallery for the "Custom Background Web" and change the website that gets loaded by activating the Advanced UI > go to Environment Customization tab > Backdrop sub-tab and change the Custom Web Page option.
For all the entertaining streamers out there, we've made some optimizations that should cut some CPU usage. If you are wondering why the usage on the FaceRig process hasn't changed, it's because the UI process is the one that has been tweaked.
Have fun!
The FaceRig team
FaceRig new avatar Laser Chaser Machi
Good news folks,
Another feline wants to join FaceRig!
Laser Chaser Machi is our cute new friend who loves (bet you saw this coming) chasing lasers!
He also has a really cool special action, just press "X" on the keyboard and he'll open his laser detector (:
You will also be able to customize his features, so if you want to make him fatter or make his whiskers freakishly long, just head on to the Customization tab.
