We are live-streaming gameplay from our demo! Watch our campaign mode, as Peppermint attempts to rescue her chicks, who have been kidnapped by foxes, and learn about the story as we go along. We also play the classic mode with Vanilla, who uses her cat ninja skills to defeat various foes and bosses.
Campaign / story-mode added to demo
Since our playtest, we have implemented the campaign / story-mode for Feisty Fauna. Now, you can experience Peppermint's story, as she rescues her chicks who have been kidnapped by foxes.
The campaign begins in the coop where Peppermint, her wife Cocoa, and other characters reside. You can chat with a diverse cast, before heading into Groovy Grassland to rescue the chicks. During the campaign, more of the story will unfold, and you can play a part in deciding which path to take (and which quests you'll complete).
We hope you will enjoy the story as much as we have enjoyed writing it! Please let us know what you think by posting on our discussion board!

Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug in the Twitch integration where connecting to the Twitch server could cause a freeze of up to 30 seconds
Changes:
New loot type: shield - gives a temporary invulnerability buff
New perk: damage reduction - similar to the permanent player buff, but as a level-up perk that lasts for that game
The dragon mini-boss and dragon boss now cast meteors more often
The Twitch integration now connects via SSL

Bug fixes:
Raccoons no longer cluck when they are damaged
Changes:
The main menu button after victory/defeat now appears 2 seconds after the victory/defeat screen, to help prevent players from immediately returning to the main menu by mistake by hitting the gamepad button
Beta playtest ending on June 1st
Thanks everyone for participating in the Beta playtest, and providing valuable feedback.
We have made many improvements to Feisty Fauna through the course of our Beta playtest, and on June 1st, we will be (temporarily) closing the playtest. The current Beta playtest version will be moved into our regular demo, and your progress (coins earned) will be kept, so you can continue playing through our demo!
We have many exciting features planned, and when they are ready for launch, we will re-open our playtest again, and look forward to your participation and feedback then!
Update notes for May 23rd 2023
Bug fixes:
Cultists now firmly plant their feet on the ground, and should not get pushed around by other fauna
The damage area of Chili Pfft has been adjusted to more accurately target enemies behind the player
Alt-tabbing during the victory/defeat screen no longer causes the menu to pop up
Changes:
Damage done by the dragon miniboss and dragon boss have been reduced, since there was a big damage spike during those levels
The highlighting of the currently-selected perk during a level-up should now be clearer
Players can now walk through ritual circles
Mini-bosses and bosses no longer teleport in single-player mode, and only teleport in multi-player mode

Bug fixes:
Quest markers (the exclamation marks) should only appear for the active quests
Changes:
Quest text now updates when mini-bosses and bosses spawn to reflect the boss-fighting stage
In multi-player mode, the requirements for quests are increased, e.g., more foxes have to be killed if there are more players
Quests have been added!
Quests have been added! Every level has its own objectives to complete, instead of a timer for every level.
Changes:
In order to exact revenge on the foxes, Peppermint and her friends now hunt foxes in the first stage
In the second stage, rescue chicks that have been captured in cages
In the third stage, stop dragon cultists from completing their mysterious rituals!
In the final stage, the fauna are fighting back, so Peppermint and her friends must survive the onslaught before facing the boss

Bug fixes:
Fixed an issue where summoned minions (e.g., cats) would follow a different player in multi-player mode.
Status sounds (e.g., being on fire) should no longer play when the victory/defeat screen pops up
Optimized fire trails so they should not cause significant frame drops
Changes:
Temporary speed-up loot now drops, which increases the player's movement speed by 50% for 10 seconds
Added a speed-up perk that increases the movement speed of the player
Adjusted level-up perk rarity and drop rates
Mouseover tooltips now appear in the difficulty selection menu, and the tooltips no longer disappear after a timeout
Small rocks no longer spawn, and large rocks spawn farther apart, so players should no longer get stuck behind rocks that are hidden by trees
Replaced "accept player(s)" with "confirm" in the player selection menu
Updated description of the possum perk
Players' skills should no longer activate once the victory screen pops up

Fixed an issue where too many fire trails would cause a significant frame drop
Fixed a bug where status sounds (e.g., being on fire) would continue playing while the menu is open
Changes:
Updated sound effect of airstrikes
Added sounds for UI buttons when they are pressed
Dodging no longer drops large eggs (for Peppermint and Kernel Popcorn) or logs (for Vanilla and Creme Brulee)
Added a Twitch chat print when Twitch viewers spawning a health/experience orb
Added shorter Twitch commands and aliases for viewers:
!heal, !hp, !health to spawn a health orb
!exp, !xp, !experience to spawn an experience orb
!boom, !bomb, !sacrifice to sacrifice a spawned minion and do AOE damage
