Communications Update Preview & One World Revamp
The end of the year is coming soon and we have two important announcements to share!
Communications Update - Coming December 14
A HUGE update is coming next Thursday. It will contain a new vehicle for both factions (Light Utility Vehicle aka "Jeep"), Radio Backpacks, Map Intelligence, and even more features not yet revealed!

One World Revamp - Coming Early 2018
We are working on a large revamp of Foxhole that will bring the game closer to it's original vision of large scale persistent world warfare. This revamp will allow hundreds of players to fight simultaneously in the same singular war and will add a sense of progression and meaning to the conflict.

DEC 5: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT
We will be making a major announcement about Foxhole on a special Devstream happening on Tuesday, Dec 5th at 2PM EST. If you care about the future of Foxhole you should definitely tune in!
There is now a special map called the Lobby World that serves as a base camp for each faction. It can be used for learning how to play, training, or just hanging out. In addition, when wars end (Campaign or Skirmish) players now transfer to the Lobby World instead of rolling directly into the next map. There is a waiting period before the next war starts so the teams have a chance to balance out.
Drawbridges
Drawbridges are a new type of world structure that allow ships to pass through rivers crossings. While this will be useful in some ways now, it will play a much larger role once World Conquest mode returns. This will allow for convoys of ships to pass through entire regions like the Deadlands!

Update 0.6 Released! Gunboats, New Map, and More!
Gunboat
Ever since we introduced the Amphibious Update, players have been asking for ways to make shore landings more viable. One of the top suggestions has been to add a way to bombard a shore before a landing takes place. The Gunboat is our answer to this problem!
The Gunboat has a forward medium range artillery that is effective at taking out stationary targets. At the stern, there is a dual barrel machine gun that is used to fend off raiding parties.
Westgate

Westgate is a brand new map that features a large vertical coast, a long wall dividing the north and south areas, and a small neutral island to the west. Our goal with this map was to provide multiple strategic options for each side at the start of each game. It's definitely one of the more symmetrical maps we've designed, but after Farranac Coast we were ready for some change.

Westgate will be the first map to have a unique structure that players can interact with. Near the center of the map there will be a large keep that players can claim like any other world structure. Once claimed, it will provide the same functionality as an Outpost (spawning and stockpiling), but will much more heavily armored and difficult to take down making it a perfect contention point in the region.
New Game Modifiers
We added a couple of new game modifiers to War Games mode. Remember that the next war games event is this Saturday! Event Details
Supply Line - Defensive structures can be built anywhere, but require Garrison Supplies
Refinery - Sulfur respawns quickly, but must be processed at a player build Refinery
Beachhead - Barges can lower ramp at any location

Dynamic resource yield to alleviate team imbalance

New Half-Tracks

We've completely revamped Half-Tracks in this update. Each faction now has a custom model redesigned from the ground up. In addition, they have a physical cargo bed at the back that players can vault onto and walk on. This allows an additional passenger (besides the gunner) to ride at the rear of the vehicle and provide cover.
New Game Mode: Weekly War Games

The Weekly War Game mode will offer players a fresh take on wars every week. One or more gameplay modifiers will be applied to these wars, which will change one or more rules in the game. Modifiers will change on a weekly basis. Here are a few examples of modifiers:
No Man's Land - Outposts and Barracks are unavailable
PvP - No AI inside structures
High Tech - Technology Part yield rate is accelerated
Engineers - CVs can be used to build any structure
Quality of Life
We've spent a lot of time and effort on quality of life improvements in this update. Here's some highlights:
Structure Visual Damage States

Structures will now change their appearance when they take enough damage. This will help players attackers identify weak points in a base and allow defenders to easily identify what needs to be repaired.
Treading Water

Players will now be able to tread water for a few moments instead of instantly dying. Players will be able to survive being in water for quick periods of time which should reduce the strain in certain situations, such as jumping off a Landing APC prematurely or accidentally walking off the edge of a shore.
Character Context Menu

The character context menu will help players access functionality like squads, whispering, muting, and more by simply clicking on a character with the ALT key held down. Players can avoid having to scroll through the F1 screen to find players, which should make working with others nearby easier.
