Airstrip DLC development update #3 – Say hi to Towy 🚙🧲

First of all, we’re glad to see many positive comments regarding the Airstrip DLC, whether it is on Steam forums or on our discord server. This really pushes us forward in the development journey, and all of this wouldn’t be possible without you, folks! As we promised in our previous devlog, today we’d like to put emphasis on our next friend who will make his way into the Gas Station Simulator – Airstrip DLC. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’d like to introduce you to Towy.
Towy’s role in the game
As we’ve already mentioned a couple of times before, the DLC will be focusing on story-driven aspects. This includes new campaign, and challenges that you’ll have to overcome. One of them will be taking care of Joe’s airplane, so he can travel safely.
However, due to his age, Joe is no longer as great a pilot as he once was, which is why he can sometimes damage his aircraft. This is where you and Towy come in. The future of Joe’s next flight lies in your hands. You’ll need to make sure that all of the damages are fixed, but before you can even start repairing the plane, you’ll need to first drag it to the fixing spot. Only after that you’ll be able to restore it to its full glory, and Joe will be happy to take another voyage.
Keep in mind that it is still work-in-progress. We’re still working on polishing stuff right now, so the final version of this mechanic might differ a little bit from what you see there
Right now you’re probably thinking whether Towy will have the ability to catch & drag cars as well. Rather than keep you guessing if that’s true, we’d already like to inform you that it is a possibility. You can even throw them in the air, although with not the same power as with a broom.
However, we’re curious to see your most crazy suggestions and ideas regarding Towy's mechanics. Feel free to share them in the comment section below. Then, we’ll slowly analyze all of them and see if it’s possible to add some of them in the game.

We're back with another devlog that will familiarize you with the Gas Station Simulator – Airstrip DLC. Recently, we've shared some brief information about the game, but as we've read through the comments, we've realized that some of you don't know what the DLC is going to be about. Thus, in this development update, we'll share some more information about the main character in the game, his background story, and his role in the game.
Before we move further, we'd like to invite you to our next devlog that will be live on Saturday (we're going to show some new mechanics, so you don't want to miss that one 🔥). Without further ado, let's jump into the main topic of today's devlog! 🤩
Joe's background story 📝
As we announced in the last devlog, Airstrip DLC will have its own, unique campaign that you'll be able to complete. Along with that, we felt that there is a need to add a brand-new character that is strictly related to the DLC but also is familiar with the area where Gas Station Simulator takes place. As a result, we've created Joe – a US Air Force pilot, and war veteran, who suffers from PTSD due to his traumatic experiences in the past.
At first, he might be unpleasant, but as you progress through the game, you'll realize that he is a warm, honest, and most importantly trustworthy man, who you can rely on. However, the question is – how did Joe end up here?
Fortunately for him, one of his old friends has offered him a share in a business he has been running for a while. Both of them decided to take the path of smugglers – they were responsible for transferring goods to the US from Central and South America. Somehow, Joe became fascinated by Latin American culture and decided to focus his efforts on finding the legendary Aztec and Montezuma gold.
Joe's role in the game✈️
As we said at the beginning, Joe is the main character of the DLC. Apart from that, he will also introduce you to a new area of the game. In addition, you'll be able to interact with Joe, and by doing so, you'll get the chance to upgrade the Airstrip area and unlock new tools that will be useful throughout the rest of the game.
The new set of animations 💥
As we're getting closer and closer to the release date, we'd like to present to you a new set of animations that we've been recently working on. These are still work-in-progress stuff, but you can already get a glimpse of how Joe looks in the game. Oh, and feel free to share your thoughts regarding the animations and Joe himself.
Towy's Sneak Peek👀
Surprise, surprise! From today, you might notice a new truck that has been added (but you can't control it just yet) to the base game. This is Towy – a new vehicle that will be helpful in the Airstrip DLC. We'll dive into details on Saturday, so stay tuned for that. We're curious if you can guess in which cases you'll need to use our new friend, so feel free to leave your answers in the comments.
Party Bus Optimization 🚌
As we've read your comments, we also realized that many of you've had some performance issues during the Party Bus event. Fortunately, we can finally say that this has been fixed, and you shouldn't have any problems with that from now on. Additionally, we're still working on fixes and making the game better in general, so your feedback is much appreciated. 🙏

This devlog is gonna be a little different from the previous one, as we recently sat down and thought that we haven’t introduced our upcoming, brand-new DLC properly. Having said that, it will focus on introduction to the Gas Station Simulator - Airstrip DLC rather than on showcasing you some fresh stuff that we’ve been recently working on (although, we’ll have some new screens available for you at the end).
To kick things off, we’ve recently announced the release date for our new DLC along with the new, short teaser, so if you haven’t seen it yet, now it’s the perfect time to catch up with it. Check it out below ⬇️
Gas Station Simulator is all about enjoyable experiences that can be best achieved through some fresh, brand-new mechanics and features. We want the game to be as unique as possible. Thus, Airstrip DLC not only will have some new features for you to uncover, but also a separate campaign to complete.
As we said at the beginning of this devlog, we’d like to showcase you some new screenshots that we’ve recently prepared. Check them out and let us know what you think of them in the comment section below.
Oh, and one more thing before we finish – as there are many of you out there, who cannot wait for more stuff to come, we’d like to announce that from this devlog till the Airstrip DLC launch day, you can expect at least one devlog per week. For the past year, we here at DRAGO entertainment have been expanding our marketing, producing and QA capabilities. Considering our portfolio of games for the upcoming years this was necessary and already shows great benefits for our games already.
However, being a rather small development team, our folks in marketing, producing and QA have “bursts” of activity that put a lot of work on them for a limited amount of time and then they have some less stressed time on their hands. We have thus decided to use that time well and become a publisher for another company in a very specified field: premium simulator games.
We have been working together with a group of people in the past years that now established their own game development company: Codebusters Studio and we will publish their upcoming premium simulators. As DRAGO entertainment we will also be involved in design and producing of these games to ensure they fit nicely to our target audience.
This is going to be a very close cooperation on these games, basically everything except our own developers participating in their production since let’s face it, they have more than enough work with our own games ;-)
For you as gamers nothing changes when it comes to our own games. What does change is you getting a game or two a year more from us that are of a similar type to the games we create. We've been eagerly waiting to share this fantastic news with you – Airstrip DLC will fly into your hands on 28th of April, 2023! 🔥 To celebrate this, we’ve prepared a short teaser trailer for you to watch. We hope that it’ll fly you to the moon ✈️
That’s not the end of the surprises for today. According to your survey answers, we’ve been recently working on a new items set that you’ll be able to buy, and later on sell it on your station. These are the specific, country-related items that will be delivered to you via planes that will visit you on Route66.
Please, keep in mind that it’s still work-in-progress, so it might look a little bit different when the DLC releases. Having said that, feel free to let us know what you think of it.
Before we finish, we’d like to let you know that we’ve read your comments and we’d like to announce that before the release of Airstrip DLC you can expect some updates that should deal with the most requested problems.

Last week, we shared with you a little sneak peek from the upcoming Valentine's Update. Fortunately, the update is already live just before the weekend, so you can create the station of your dreams.
We've also managed to fix some of the issues that players have encountered. Last but not least, we heard your voices and with the Valentine's Update it is now possible to exit the painting mini-game. Check the full patch notes below for more details:⬇️
Valentine’s Content❤️
Adds a Valentine’s themed Landmark.
Adds 3 Valentine’s themed wallpapers.
Adds 10 Valentine’s themed decals.
For the Can Touch This DLC this update also adds Valentine’s themed wall, doors, 2 types of windows and roof.
Improvements⚒️
It’s now possible to exit the painting mini-game.
Rotating standing decorations/shelves should now be smoother and we reduced the speed while at it. You can now hold the SHIFT-key while rotating to speed it up.
You can now hold the Left Mouse Button on the plus button while ordering to quickly add multiple products/car parts/ice creams.
You can now save up to three order lists per shop type. They will be available after loading a game. In addition, there is an option to use the previous order that is remembered until loading a game.
Bug Fixes🐛
Ice Cream mini-game: customers will no longer unnecessary react to the bell after being served.
Ice Cream mini-game: fixes a bug that made replacing empty containers impossible.
Fixes the issue that caused trash to fall under the floor.
Fixes an issue that allowed hanging decorations and shelves on occupied spots after loading a saved game.
Fixes a bug that caused decorations and shelves to disappear while aiming at some walls.
The Ferris Wheel should now work correctly.
Information about items stolen by the Biker (after not paying a loan) will now be correctly displayed.
The Party Bus (Party Time DLC) should no longer get stuck on a fence.
Wheels in the Workshop should no longer fall out of your hands.
AZERTY keyboard now works correctly with keybindings.

Gas Station Simulator – Some fresh news from the developers 🔥

We hope that you’re all doing well and your gas station business is thriving. As of recently, we haven’t shared much info with you, so we thought it’s high time to shed some light on some of the things that we’re currently working on. So, without further ado, let’s get the news rollin’ 🔥
First of all, we’d like to inform you that you can buy a Gas Station Simulator with a 27% discount. So, if you ever dreamed of running a profitable gas station business while keeping Dennis away from your station, there is a perfect time to do so now. Go and check it for yourself ⬇️
Second of all, we’d like to inform you that we’re hard at work when it comes to Airstrip DLC ✈️ We’re amazed at how many of you responded to our survey, and soon we should be able to reveal the final results. Additionally, we plan to show you some fresh screenshots soon, so stay tuned for more information. Also, there is still a chance to add that DLC to your wishlist if you haven’t done it yet 🙇

The day has finally arrived where Gas Station Simulator and its DLCs are also available for macOS. Both Intel and Apple Silicon (M1/M2) Macs are supported. With the recent optimizations we did for the game we were able to lower the system requirements for Macs quite a bit, so even some Macs without a dedicated GPU can get some decent performance out of the game :)
Gas Station Simulator for macOS is a universal app with Apple Silicon being natively supported rather than going the Rosetta 2 route.
The game and DLCs are the same as on PC with one small exception: the Christmas Content Update from last week is not on macOS yet. We’ll do that one next and update accordingly.
The system requirements for M1 Macs are quite simple: any M1 Mac will do. Obviously the more GPU cores you have the more you can crank up the visuals, but even the smallest MacBook Air M1 with 7 GPU cores will run the game at lower settings.
The system requirements for Intel based Macs are less simple. Mac mini 2018, MacBook Air 2017 or MacBook Pro 13” 2016 or above will do. Basically the minimum requirement is a HD Graphics 6000 or UHD 630 to run the game at 720p on low settings. Higher resolutions and/or better visual quality on Intel-Macs require a Mac with dedicated GPU, so you are basically looking at MacBook Pro 15/16” with dedicated Radeon GPUs or iMacs.
No more Boot Camp if you don’t want to :)
