There have been multiple requests that completing the levels were to hard therefore frustrating to unlock the next levels. So the latest update just unlocks all levels to begin with. This also is great for any VR Arcades who are using the game :) You can still achieve gold, silver and bronze if you complete a level.
And anyone who wishes to deactivate the in game music. You can just press "m" for mute and the music will be deactivated now.
Early Access to Full Release
Milestone reached!
We transitioned from Early Access to Full Release this week! So we welcome all new comers and a want to give a special thanks to the early adopters. Our mission at 5D Realities is to create the most realistic flight experiences for VR and will be feeding off your support!
We feel Glider Island is in a good state to do the transition and want to open it up for everyone. We have done a lot of work in April to get it to the quality we want and it looks like this is a good time to do the transition. We still have some things we want to add, such as Oculus Hand Controller support and Leader Boards. We will also most likely be working on tweaking the hand controller flying as we add support for the Oculus Motion Controllers coming up so stay tuned.
If you find any bugs are wish to have anything improved in the next update, post your thoughts here and we will try and work them in! Thanks.

Introducing Mouse Flight!
Those without Virtual Reality or an Xbox Controller can now fly with just the mouse and keyboard! We made flying with the mouse the easiest control method, so if you have difficulty in completing the levels I would suggest using the mouse/ keyboard in None VR mode.
Although the game is built for Virtual Reality we wish to get some none VR users to try it out as well. So if you don’t own a VR headset and want to get a taste of Glider Island, check it out and be sure to let me know what you think!
We also did some updates to the lighting, added some new scenery to Forest Island, added a more complex animation to the eruption on Volcano Island and fixed a couple bugs and built in some piracy protection by checking for internet connection before the game starts. This way, we can disable old versions of the game if they get pirated and they users will have to get the latest version. Unfortunately this means you have to have an internet connection to play. In the near future, we will be working on adding top leader board scores!

All New Huge Update!
Special Note: This is our last week in early access! The game is 50% off this week and looking to get back lots of feedback before launch. Get it while its cheep ;)
We have spent the last month redesigning aspects of the game to make it more fun, challenging and polished. Below are a list of the changes. This is quite a dramatic update so feedback is greatly appreciated!
All new redesigned gameplay: You now have to collect all hoops within 10 minutes to pass each island. Forest Island has 150 hoops, Volcano Island has 175 hoops, and all new Desert Island has 200 hoops. You now must complete each level to unlock the next one. Depending on how fast you complete each level you will receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze. We also updated how the rocket boosters work. Collect the blue spirals now to gain more rocket booster. Be thoughtful in when you choose to collect the blue spirals as you can easily run out of booster…
New Map and Scenery Upgrade: We have added a 3rd Island! Desert Island. Using Terrain Composer 2 for Unity we have create a beautiful awesome desert/ canyon environment! Every 2 minutes a sand storm will occur making visibility hard and tricky, so watch out ;) We have also done some tweaking to the lighting and scenery on the other two islands as well as upgraded the water shaders. There are also some performance improvements as we upgraded to a newer version of Unity. Also note, Forest Island has a cool new lighthouse with light effects! Here is a screenshot of the new island:
New Sound and Music: Each island now has it's own soundtrack. Composed and created by the developer himself haha. So let me know what you think. There are also a couple new sound effects to replace the old ones.
Updated User Interface: We have done some updates to the UI, so expect a cleaner and more user friendly look. Here us a look at the main menu.
We are nearing launch day soon! So these two weeks will be the final weeks in early access. If you find any bugs are have any suggestions now is the time to report them, so we can work them into the final build!
We will be adding new screenshots and videos/trailers to the store in the coming weeks.

Get special access to our new Glider Simulator Prototype!
As some of you know we have been working on a revised version of how to simulated gliding. The plan was to make it more realistic and simulator like. The good news is we have created something awesome, but it is that it is so radically different than Glider Island that we decided to make it a separate project called Glider Sim.
To those who would like to try it out, good news! We decided to make the Prototype Demo available to those who own Glider Island. To download and try it out follow these instructions:
-Right click on Glider Island in Steam.
-Go to Properties
-Go to the Betas Tab and select glidersim
There you go! You now can test out Glider Sim (Alpha) for free. It is more a simulator than a game and will be interesting to hear what you think. Check out all the features by watching the video below.
As for Glider Island, we will be doing a major revamp of the game to improve gameplay and add one more Island before full release out of early access. Enjoy!

Beta 1.2 Update Released!
Changes:
Fly with Vive Hand Controllers, Head Movement, or Xbox Controller.
Launch app in Steam VR Mode, Oculus Mode, or No VR mode (Virtual reality no longer required to play).
Improved graphics and performance. Huge increase of performance for Volcano Island.
Improved user interface.
Fixed issue with head tracking mode to be more sensitive so as not to hurt your neck ;)

Beta 2 Major Update in the Works.
Our original plan was to release Beta 2 on December 24th. But after having a couple people try it out, it was clear we need much more time to get it to the quality we would like. We need more time to tweak the flight physics and create new challenges and game play. If you would like to help test out Beta 2 before we post it here on steam please send an email to joeysipos@yahoo.com giving the reason why you would like to help test out Beta 2, and if you sound like a good fit we will send you the download.
In the mean time we have done a update to Beta 1 fixing many bugs and overall making it higher quality. Hopefully this little update will help bring a couple more people into the community before we get to releasing Beta 2.
