Multiplayer Event (Sunday Dec 18th 1-3pm Central Time)

Come join the multiplayer session on the North American server and help test out the latest spectator drone update. I will be gathering some shots for the new Swiss Alps map trailer :)

Update 1.8.5_EarlyAccess: Hot fix to floating terrain

-Fix floating terrain issue.
-Remove baked shadows on the terrain. They are causing too many issues and it's just cleaner to go with full real time lighting. Plus uses less memory.
-Improve tree splat map texture some.
-Make speedwing harness a tad bigger.
-Make the splash effect a little better.
-Add underwater sound if your head goes underwater.
-Fix issue where under blue water effect was still playing after hitting restart.
-Set shadows to hard shadows and increase shadow distance a bit on high settings.

Update 1.8.4_EarlyAccess: New Speedwing Harness

-Add new speedwing harness.
-Adjust multiplayer speedwing with new harness.
-Fix collision bug in multiplayer when a new player is spawned.
-Switch shadow mode back to subtractive for improved performance.
-Turn off distant trees and rocks for improved performance.
-Improve splash particle effects when landing on water.
-Add landing pontoon and buoys at launch point 8 for an added landing challenge.
-Slight adjustment to speedwing physics.

Update 1.8.3_EarlyAccess: Small Hotfix

-Adjust speedwing and miniwing physics a little, with a tad more drag on the body.
-Lower brightness just a tad in postprocessing effect.
-Lower the loading priority of distant terrain to make sure it loads on a separate thread instead of the main thread while flying to reduce stutters.
-Add water buffer script to VR camera in hopes it might fix the issue of some people not being able to render the water.

Update 1.8.3_EarlyAccess: Small Hotfix

Update 1.8.2_EarlyAccess: More Improvements

-Add lake on the backside of ridge Swiss Alps.
-Increase height map resolution on distant terrain.
(Note: Because of the updated height map resolution more RAM is being used. Please let me know if you have any crashes on the Swiss Alps map and what computer specs you have. Turning down the settings might help, As long as you have 16GB Ram or more you should be fine. I will probably work on a solution for lower spec PC’s in future updates.)
-Remove invisible box colliders on distant terrain.
-Bake shadows for some more of the distant terrain.
-Add landing in water effects.
-If you go under water in first person mode, the screen will turn blue.
-Disable distant shadow masking in Med to Low settings. If you want increased performance go to Medium settings because shadow masking on height settings is somewhat expensive.
-Stop speed wing from shaking so much while on ground.
-Reprogram the way the wing stays level while on ground.
-Improve the tree textures some.
-Add shadow renders to the lines on the gliders.
-Add improved stalling and recovery simulation.
-Add code to cause the wingtips to stall / deflate while near a stall.
-Make the ability to do the helico maneuver again.

Update 1.8.1_EarlyAccess: More Improvements

-Increase resolution of terrain data for the center of the Swiss Alps map.
-Bake lighting / shadows in the center of the Swiss Alps map.
-Improve close range shadow quality.
-Enable terrain instancing for better performance.
-Add more uplift power in the ridgelift.
-Reduce wind bubbles from rotating too fast causing particles to rotate wonky.
-Label the host in the list of names.
-Make the ability for the host to change weather conditions and have all others sync the changes.
-Add checkbox in the multiplayer menu to turn off in-game user names.
-Try to smooth out multiplayer movement more.
-Smooth out the spectator camera movement so you can capture cooler shots. (Press F while flying to activate the spectator cam).
-Fix issue where pressing R would reset the spector cam.
-Remove ability to rotate camera using VR controller while in first person mode.
-Add null zone for left joystick VR controllers.

Update 1.8.0_EarlyAccess: Ridge Lift Fix

-Improve the way ridge lift works
-Make particle tails render in world space to get more bend to the tails.
-Fix issue where particle tails would stretch during origin update.
-Make water a bit darker.
-Make the island in lake a bit smoother.
-Hopefully this fixes the issue where some people would get tossed way up in the sky on rare occasions.

Update 1.7.9_EarlyAccess: Hot Fix

-Remove the pink sphere in the sky in Swiss Alps map.
-Add new sky box for Swiss Alps.
-Adjust the sun flare effect.
-Add in windsocks for Swiss Alps launch points.
-Smooth out banks near water.
-Make speedwing a bit more sensitive.
