- Test major CPU & networking optimizations and general game smoothness (rubberband testing)
- Environment art updates to all maps; we've begun some art polish.

- Character quality updates: All characters have new textures and shaders.
- Default weapon quality updates: All base weapons have new textures and shaders.
- Bug fix for AI sometimes not getting a team assigned.
- Audio improvements for ritual UI cues.
- *NEW MECHANIC* - Balanced Ground stabs. Since KD's are a big part of our game we are trying an early prototype of a ground stab mechanic. You can press back + click quickly to execute one. We plan to have ground stab auto-detected on your stab key (usually middle-mouse) in the future.
- Art improvements to Hanako Castle map.

Epic MegaGrant Winner, Pop-up Events All Week + Hot Fix!

Epic MegaGrant


We're pleased to announce we were selected on October 9th (the 13 year anniversary of the date the one our game is dedicated to, passed away), that Epic Games awarded us with an Epic MegaGrant. This will help us finish the game and give Hanako the release it deserves after seven years of development, effort, sweat, tears, etc.

We wanted to extend our greatest level of gratitude for Epic Games for their support and belief in us, as well as the Hanako dev team and community.

Hot Fix (Live 11/23/2020)


- Ground attack is a new mechanic (defaults to C key or left shoulder) to allow knocked down opponents to be attacked. This attack also serves as an aerial strike for the melee classes.
- Fixes to various UI bugs.
- Fixes to various in-game bugs.
- Improvements for players getting launched when interacting with ragdolls.
- Other small fixes.

Testing Initiatives/Test Patch Notes


- Bug fixes to fix the friendly/enemy colors not always getting applied properly especially on scroll capture zones.
- MAJOR Bug Fix: Kenshi Super defense ability no longer causes "input lock" issues where players cannot attack/do abilities after using this ability.
- MAJOR Bug Fix: Co-op vs. AI no longer is progress blocked by mouse cursor getting stuck/skill tree not being able to opened on first spawn.
- Updates to Hanako Castle Raid map to get it closer to being done.
- Friendly/Enemy relativity added to ritual sites and chat.
- CTS game mode HUD UI has been updated to be cleaner/easier to read.

Weekly Event: Playtest + Defeat the Devs November 4th Details

First time players will get a free key from us to give to a friend to join future events. You must have a key and play to be eligible for another key.

Testing Initiatives/Test Patch Notes


- MAJOR UI Update - Hanako/Yamai colors (previous red/green or gold/green respectively) have been replaced by "Functional Colors". Friendly objectives, outlines, UI elements, etc. will ALWAYS be Blue; and enemy elements will always be red. This includes class select zones, scroll capture zones, control zones, destructibles and other gameplay-relevant things like score, objective health, etc. This should eliminate most friendly/enemy confusion. NOTE: Art elements in the world like armor colors, banners, flags are not team-relative and will remain narratively colored.
- Fallen trees received a balance pass after the post-fall trees were too easy to clear. Base health 500>1000; post-fall trees 1000>3000.
- Layout changes to Yamai Castle blockout map.
- Stability/bug improvements potentially for a server crash and "input lock".
- World building pass in Hanako Castle outside the Yamai base where the map was largely incomplete outside the castle complex.
