Update 17

Hello everyone,

Discover the new additions and modifications in this update 17.

Mechanics:
-Addition of an Age system (3 ages).

-Reorganization of units and buildings.
Military units have been reorganized. The barracks offers 4 types of soldiers (Rifleman, Machine Gunner, Grenade Launcher, Sniper).
The Com-Center offers 2 types of soldiers (Tank Crew, Sapper).
Age 1 is equivalent to "patrol" clashes, Age 2 offers you the possibility to drive tanks, fortify your positions and update a part of your units, it's equivalent to a "moderate engagement". Age 3 allows the arrival of special forces and drones, which is equivalent to "full engagement".

Age 1:
-Barrack (Rifle, Machine Gunner, Grenade Launcher)
-Laboratory (UAV)
-Generator
-Tent
-Container
-Cantina

Age 2:
-Barrack (Sniper unlocking)
-Com-Center (Tank crew, Sapper)

-Review of unit costs. Unit costs are now defined by their statistics to have consistent costs.
Food cost: 20 + number of life points.
Ammo cost: 20 + Damage per second to buildings + Damage per second to units.
Material cost: Speed*10 + Skill.
Skill :
+ 0 Short Range.
+ 5 Medium Range.
+ 10 Long Range.
+ 5 Ability to capture a strategic point.

-Review of unit recruiting times.
-Updated the Nav Mesh which now takes into account debris in heavy cover.
-Add explosion sounds to the "Effect" module in the settings menu.

Unit:
-Special Force Operator unit becomes the Rifleman upgrade.

-The Rocket Launcher unit becomes the upgrade of the Grenade Launcher.

-Fixed a bug on the zombie attack.
-German Rocket Launcher: Fixed a bug when capturing a strategic point where Polish vehicles appeared.
-FS Operator: Reduced the population cost from 2 to 1.
-Grenade Launcher: Reduce projectile dispersion from 5 to 3.
-Rocket Launcher: Add projectile dispersion from 1.
-Rocket Launcher: Reduce projectile damage area from 2 to 1.5.
-Vehicles: Fixed Rigidbody of some soldier models.
-Russian Sapper: Increase damage to units from 2 to 3.
-Combat Drone: Corrected range of sight from 15 to 18.

Interface:
-Modification of the Tooltip bar.

Demo:
-Correction of a mission launch problem.

Community idea:
-(Keromas) Airport: Added heavy cover in the middle of the runway.

-Thanks to Bytuku for translating the game into Turkish. This language will be available in an upcoming update.

Patch 16.1

Hello!

A little patch today to fix the following:

-Correcting the bug where the technicians were running around endlessly without building.
-Corrected a bug displaying the amount of resource.
-Adjusting the minimaps so that they take the whole square.
-Changed the food generator in the Cantina from 1 unit / 2 seconds to 1 unit / 3 seconds.
-Add a limit for the unit Rocket Launcher of 5 units at the same time.

Hello everyone!

Below are the additions and modifications of this update 16.

Multiplayer:
Unable to solve the problem, I chose to work with the Seenapsis development studio to finish the multiplayer. You can discover their products here : Seenapsis

Audio:
-Fixed a bug that didn't activate the sound when the attack order was given.
-Addition of music in game.
-Add selection sounds for Polish infantry.
-Corrected the minimum volume in the -80dB to -40dB options.

Interface:
-Optimization of menus to limit their number. There are now :
The Main Menu.
A Campaign Menu (Tutorial, History Campaign, NATO Campaign, UK Campaign, Event).
A Menu for the preparation of a skirmish.
-Rethinking the IU at stake I was inspired by the tablets used by the military.
Old UI :

-Redesign of the wiki, options and menus.

-Rework of units and buildings logos.

-Add missing logos: Russian rifles, German rifles, Russian tents, zombies, etc...

-Add Slow play speed in the skirmish menu.

Mechanical:

-Resolved a bug related to the kill/death counter when a unit was killed by contractors.
-Corrected a bug where technicians continued to build after the building was destroyed.
-Corrected a bug that occurred when deselecting a group of units from the selected units.
-Modified the AI to incorporate new buildings and new resources.
-New available orders: Hold position and resume movement for the following units : Rifleman, Rocket Launcher, Machine Gunner, Sniper, Sapper, Grenade Launcher, Special Force, Medic, battle drone.

-Delete the Movement and Attack orders from the taskbar.

Resources:
-Reduced number of elements for ammo and material models.
-Review of resource colliders to allow 360° collection (technicians no longer go around the resource to collect it).
-Add a new resource, electricity. Available via the Generator building.
-Modification of the model and size of the food resource.

-Modification of the food collection system. The Cantina building must now be built near to the resource to generate food.

Buildings:
-Addition of construction stages.
-Radar: Modification in Generator. Increases the constructible space and generates electricity.

-Cantina: New building, generates food.


Units:
-Vehicles: Improved movement (end of turning in place to watch the attacked units). Only the turrets rotate).

-Vehicles: Added moving attack.

-Drones: They can't get into the vehicles anymore.
-Sapper: Reduction of the rate of fire from 0.6 to 0.8.
-Sapper: Removed the possibility to build the tent and the container. The sapper can only build the defenses.
-Machinegunner: Increased damage to align with the rifleman.
-Machinegunner: Added a projectile dispersion of 1.
-German Machinegunner: Increased the rate of fire from 0.4 to 0.3.
-Rocket Launcher: Increased production costs; +10 Ammo and +10 Material.
-Rocket Launcher: Fixed a bug that caused smoke to appear when the unit was visible.
-Special Force: Increased the rate of fire from 0.6 to 0.5.
Russian Sniper: Changed the 3D model of the sniper rifle.
UAV: Fixed rotation bug when moving.

Maps:
-Update the tutorial with new buildings and resources.
-Modification of the placement of resources on all the maps.
-Mission 5: Fixed a bug that allowed the player to attack allied units.
-Mission 5: Fixed a bug that allowed to finish the mission in less than 5 min without having the final conversation.
-Mission 5: Wave balancing that made the mission too difficult (chance to win was very very low).
-Modification of the size of the terrain textures. Increase from 2 to 4. Allows to see details better and gives a less "empty" effect.
-Add NormalMap to the terrain textures to give volume.

Settings:
-Addition of an information panel on available controls (no modification possible for the moment).

This update changes a lot of things, it's possible that I missed things, if you find bugs report them to me so that I can fix them for the next update. :)
I know that the medic doesn't work as well as before, when building a building, sometimes you need to give a movement order to the technicians and then give them the order to build. All will be corrected in the next update.

Think about giving your opinion on this new resource system, on the interface which will surely be the final interface and/or on other changes. :3

Update 15

Hello,

See below for the additions and changes in Update 15. A lot of work on the audio.

Interface:
-Add a color when you no longer have the resources to build (Buildings and Units).

-Changing the camera angle from 45° to 50°.

Mechanical:
-Fixed a bug that allowed units to increase their maximum health when exiting a cover.
-Improved AI, military building and unit construction. There is still room for improvement.
-2 new colors for the classic skirmish mode.


-Fixed a bug when units were looking to attack the recon drone. This patch is temporary because it takes a little too much on the performances.

Unit / Building:
-GER & RU rocket launcher: Adding smoke when firing (only the Polish rocket launcher had it).
-Spec Ops RU : Correction of the description.
-Fixed a bug that played back the movement audio when the unit was stopped.
-Fixed a bug on the GER/PL/RU barracks and the RU communication center: the soldiers weapon fell to the ground.
-Add a plane for hero.


Map:
Land of Dead: Fixed an issue with vehicles spawning on the strategic point.
Crossroad PL Skirmish: Fixed a problem with the spawn of the HQ that made it impossible to complete the mission.
Mission 5: Fixed building initialization bug.

Audio:
-Add and modify the following sounds :
Attack sound.
Movement sounds.
Movement order sounds.
Impossible action sounds.
Unit selection sounds.
Building selection sounds.
Construction sounds.
Task cancellation sounds.
Task start sounds.
Sounds for not starting a task.

As you may have seen, France has been in containment since the beginning of this week.

Update 14

Hello,

Below are the additions and corrections from Friday's update:

Unit:
-Add wheel and track marks.
-Redimensioning of dust effects.

-Modification of the rotation speed at idle position from 20 to 2.
-Add a damage effect on vehicles informing the player when vehicles are damaged.
-Modification of the distance of care of the medics from +1.

Campaign:.
Mission 2: Fixed a bug that allowed Allied units to attack the player.
Mission 3: Revised the NavMesh to allow vehicles to pass through any holes in the airport fences and reset the HQs.

Mechanics:
-Corrected the sound problem when a group of soldiers were moving.
-Adding a Death/Kill counter available via the Pause menu, Defeat menu and Victory menu.

Buildings:
-Modification of construction models in anticipation of animation.

Story Mode !!! Update 13

Hello !

Can you hear it ? It's there ! It's coming ! The Story mode of Hell of Men Blood Brothers !!!
The great news is that the actor was very fast and the voices are also available.

I'm very happy to be able to add the Story mode. It's a lot of work that I hope you will enjoy. :)

This story allows you to follow Iwan and Stefan, two Polish brothers embarked in a conflict in Belarus. You play Lieutenant Banner in a campaign of 5 missions.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that in the next 2 - 3 weeks the price of Hell of Men will increase to the price of : 8.99$ - 7.39€

With this new game mode a large list of additions and modifications:

Maps:
The strategic points of all the maps have been reviewed in preparation for multiplayers.
-Airport / Crossroads / Fields / Village: Reduction of the number of strategic points from 10 to 6.
-Wall / Montain : Reduction of the number of strategic points from 4 to 2.
-Bridge / Hamlet / Train Station : Reduction of the number of strategic points from 6 to 4.
-Land of Dead : Reduction of the number of strategic points from 7 to 5.
-The available vehicles have been changed at certain strategic points.
-Addition of mercenaries on strategic points that you will have to neutralize before you can capture the positions.
-Corrected a bug on the respawn of vehicles that didn't respect the waiting time.
-Added a LOD system on some scenery for better performance.
-Addition a LOD system on fire and smoke effects for better performance.

Buildings:
-Increase of the health points: multiplication by 2 for all buildings.
-Repositioning of fires and smoke when the building is almost destroyed.

Mechanical:
I've reworked the projectiles again and it's good! They won't go through without damage. The whole thing becomes more lethal.
-Reworked all the projectiles.
-Rework the damage detection colliders on all infantry units.

Updated covers bonuses:
-Light from 5 to 10.
-Medium from 10 to 15.
-Heavy from 15 to 20.

Update 12

Hello,

Update 12 is coming for tomorrow!
I suggest you to start this news with the bad news and finish with the good ones.

Multiplayers:
As you can see, multiplayer is still not available. We are working on it but the problem is more complicated than we thought. I'm not going to give you a date to tell you for the 4th time that the deadline is not met. I will keep you informed of the progress and I hope to propose it to you soon. Once this connection problem is solved everything will be fine. Indeed, the maps and factions are finished and ready.

Cooperation:
In addition to the same problem as multiplayers, there is an additional difficulty. The game didn't take into account the cooperation mode from the beginning of development. As a result, it is necessary to recode a part of the game. Unfortunately I don't have the resources to do it at the moment. So version 1.0 will not include a cooperation mode. I would still like to add a cooperation mode but I can't tell you whether or not a cooperation mode will be released for Hell of Men Blood Brothers.

Let's go to the good news!

Story:
Story mode is 95% complete. Now I need to test all missions and fix the few bugs that are still present. I plan to do it early next week to propose you the story mode in next Friday's update. This is my Goal!
Voices! In a previous news I informed you that there will be no voice-over. I'm going back on that because I had a proposal this week that allows me to do it. So yes there will be voices for the narration sequences at the beginning of each mission. However, you have to give the artist time to record the sounds. They won't be available when the story mode is released but should arrive soon.

The Save & Load system:
I've started looking into how to integrate a system for saving and loading your games. I wanted to release it for February but the story mode took me longer than expected.

Mechanical:
-Add faction color item to all infantry units.

-Add faction color to infantry unit outline.

-Rework of animations and animation transitions.
-Add Ragdoll effect for all infantry units.

-Rewriting the script of vehicles spawner on the strategic points. Indeed, too often vehicles didn't reappear after destruction.
-Rewriting the script of cover of the infantry for better performance.
-Update the AI manager : Easy and Medium.
-UAV unit can no longer be attacked by all units. The following units can attack and destroy the UAV:
Sapper / Sniper / Special Force / Jeep.
-Rework of projectiles.
-Add Autumn and Winter skins for the Germans.



Phase 2 of the movement system:
-Vehicles prioritization in the movement of entities.
-Addition of Nav Mesh Obstacle on the scenery. Vehicles no longer pass through. If one of your vehicles passes through a set, report it to me. :)
-Improved collisions between objects.

Update 11 come tomorrow ! :)
See the list of modifications and corrections below :

Faction:
-Add the German faction.
Specificity:
- Technician : health of 10.
- Machinegunner : + 1 damage to units, + 2 damage to buildings.
- Sniper : firing rate of 2.
- Tank crew : health of 10.
- UGV: resource storage drone (not available for the moment, temporary availability of the storage container for this faction).
- Buggy: armed (grenade launcher) with 3 seats.
- Armoured transport: health + 20, +1 damage to units and buildings.
- Barracks : - 25% construction time for units.
- Laboratory: manufacturing of the resource storage drone.





-Add new logos.


Skirmish:
-Hamlet: new position for strategic points.
-Addition of a character for the skirmish "Montain" for the Russian faction (Sergeant KORAZ).
-Rework of all skirmishes to add new units.
-Reorganization of the skirmishes to stick to the chronology. It's quite possible that your progress will be suppressed. The order of the missions having been changed.
-Changed all mission descriptions to have a chronology of the conflict.
-Reviewing factions present in the skirmishes to include the Germans.
