Today I uploaded small update for Hero's Story.

General



  • Now players will see if there is not enough Energy to cast specific spell


Balance



  • Reduced damage from arrows dealed to Necromancer boss
  • Reduced damage from arrows dealed to Spider Queen boss
  • Cleric: slightly decreased Stamina regeneration speed
  • Cleric: reduced cooldown of 'Lesser Heal' spell from 10 to 7.5 sec


Bugfixes



  • Fixed bug, when bosses got too much damage from projectiles
  • Fixed bug, when Cleric couldn't use Fireball spell
  • Fixed bug, when Cleric passive skill didn't work properly
  • Fixed bug, when 'Lesser Heal' spell used less Energy than it should
  • Fixed bug, when bow and arrows allowed to push enemies away too much
  • Fixed bug, when bow and arrows interfered with the movement of character
  • Fixed bug, when some doors kept closing after player

Anniversary Update

Hello everyone!
Today exactly three years ago Hero's Story Early Access was released on Steam. During this time 37 updates were released, in which many game mechanics, levels, enemies and various items were added.
The game settings have been completely redesigned, inventory and a save system have been added, a lot of bugs have been fixed, weather effects have been added. New Steam achievements, bosses and destructible objects have been added.
I would like to thank all the players who have supported me all these years, left their feedback, share screenshots and just explored the vast world of Teandria!
Of course, I don't plan to stop there, and today I present to you anniversary update of Hero's Story Early Access.
In it I fixed some critical bugs, added fall damage and hints at the beginning of the game, and also introduced a new character class - Cleric!

Let's take a closer look at some points.

NEW CLASS



Clerics of the Order of Light have long been famous for their wisdom and mercy. These formidable warriors do not have obvious advantages, but also do not have strong disadvantages, which makes them universal warriors. Clerics also use healing spells more effectively.

FALL DAMAGE



Fall damage is another mechanic from earlier versions of the game, as well as one of the main mechanics in any modern game. Depending on how fast your character was moving, he will receive different amount of damage. At the moment, you can't die from falling in the game.

PUMPKIN COLLECTOR RETURNS



The annual event returns on the eve of the Halloween holiday. This time there will be no Pumpkin Skeletons waiting for you around the corner, but there will be a few more Pumpkins in the game world. Let me remind you that collecting pumpkins is not only pleasant, but also useful - after all, 10 of them are needed to get the achievement of the same name. And what kind of soup is obtained from them!

31st of August Hotfix

Greetings, Heroes!

Today I uploaded a small fix that added the display of selected weapons to the game, fixed some bugs that occurred after a recent update, and also added realism to the flight of arrows and balanced the damage from the dagger and the bow.

General



  • Now physics will apply on the released arrows
  • Slightly increased arrow flight speed


Additions



  • Added effect of hitting the enemy when shooting with an arrow
  • Added display of the selected weapon* to the bottom of the screen
  • Added additional graphics settings to the pause menu
  • Added ability to put your weapons away (0)


Balance



  • Changed the damage from arrows fired by the player at various types of enemies

  • Fixed a bug, when the game didn't remember last selected weapon
  • Fixed a bug, when dagger dealt more damage to enemies than it should

Beta Update #13

Hello, heroes!

Today I uploaded a new update for Hero's Story Early Access.
Creating this update was fraught with various difficulties - both physical and technical, but I coped!
I managed to add switching of the current weapon for the player character, update the settings menu during the pause (similar to the main menu) and add new graphics settings to the settings menu. I also slightly changed the balance of the enemies and fixed some bugs in the program code to make the combat system feel more interesting.

General




  • Now it will be easier for players to pick up different items
  • Now player's character can't attack without weapon
  • Now it will be easier for many enemies to spot player's character
  • Settings window in pause menu was updated

Additions




  • Added ability to switch current weapon (1-3 keys)
  • Added additional graphics settings in Settings menu

Balance




  • Increased minimum damage, inflicted to skeleton archers
  • Increased minimum damage, inflicted to skeleton sorcerers
  • Bosses will never lose player's character sight again

Updated Settings





The settings menu in the main menu of the game was updated a long time ago, and now, finally, the update has reached the pause menu during the game! Let me remind you that the new menu not only looks beautiful, but also more convenient in terms of the arrangement of elements.

Weapon Switching





At the moment, there are three types of weapons available to the character in the Hero's Story game - main, additional and ranged. The sword remains the main one in the current version, a faster dagger acts as an additional one, while the bow allows you to attack enemies from a distance!

New Settings





Also, at the request of the players, I decided to add some necessary settings to the game - such as limiting the drawing area of some objects (which especially affects performance in open spaces) and vertical synchronization, which is disabled by default.

As you know, I was planning to release the next update for Hero's Story in July. It was supposed to include combat system changes, updated ingame settings and some bugfixes. However, for various reasons, it was not possible to release the update on time. Now it will be released in August. This will not affect the release date of the game - full version of Hero's Story will be released when the game is really ready.

26th of May Hotfix

Greetings, Heroes!

Yesterday another hotfix was uploaded, fixing some bugs after recent update, as well as adding display of the current buffs and the readiness of the character's abilities. A Fireball cooldown has also been added and the 'Endless Desert' and 'Flame Keep' levels have been fixed.

Additions



  • Fire protection now will be displayed at the top of the screen
  • Hero's abilities* now will be displayed above the healthbar


Balance



  • Increased time interval for which the Spider Queen can lose sight of the player's character
  • Increased time interval for which the Necromancer can lose sight of the player's character
  • Cooldown of the spell 'Lesser Heal' changed to 15/10/5 seconds for the Warrior/Rogue/Mage class respectively (was 15 seconds for all)
  • Cooldown of the 'Fireball' spell has been changed to 30/20/10 seconds for a Warrior/Rogue/Mage class respectively (was 0 seconds for all)


Bugfixes



  • Fixed bug when enemies on the level went too far from their initial positions (towards the player)
  • Fixed bug when Fire Protection Potion didn't work against Rakshasa Warrior fire
  • 'Flame Keep' level fixes
  • Minor game levels fixes

Beta Update #12

Hello, heroes!

Today I uploaded a new update for Hero's Story Early Access.
It includes a new location - Flame Keep, mechanics of traps and destructible objects, important fixes. Special attention in this update was paid to the optimization of the game - unnecessary objects were removed from the game levels, as well as the settings of physics, lighting and draw distance were changed to increase the overall stability of the game and the number of frames per second. I remind you that if you have performance issues, you can lower the graphics settings in the settings menu!

Now let's take a closer look at some points.

Flame Keep





This mighty fortress was carved right into the stone by ancient fierce warriors. Someone turned on the defense system of the Flame Keep, and now only the most dexterous adventurers can get to its treasures! The entrance to the Flame Keep is located in the Endless Desert in the mountains.

Deadly traps





Traps are one of Hero's Story's longstanding mechanics that has finally been brought to the new engine. In the current version, there are three types of traps - moving, fire and static. As a rule, the traps are causing bleeding on the player's character. Be careful not to get caught!

Destructible objects





The cosmetic game mechanic, however, can be useful for clearing narrow passages, finding hidden treasures, and just for fun. Now you can destroy a strictly limited number of objects, but it is possible that in the future their number may increase!

17th of April Hotfix

In this hotfix, a critical bug that does not allow you to get the 'Herbalist' achievement has been fixed. Also I have added ability to see current zone name at the start of some levels.

  • Fixed a bug when Isel could leave her arena
