Home Wars update to version 1.010

Hello Generals!
Don't you love the smell of burnt Bugs? We love it!


We have a new update for you. Here are the changes:

- Before this update, whenever an aircraft ran out of missiles, it had to return to the base.
We've listened to you, and now, all aircraft that have an autocannon, except for the Bomber, will continue to fight even without missiles.

- We have added a new nice feature to the aircraft.
Now, when a plane has to return to the base, it won't disappear but it will return to the spawn point.
However, the plane is vulnerable while it's returning, so pay attention to the flying enemies.

- We have fixed the bug that caused the loss of unused missiles of every plane that returned to the base.

- From now on, you'll be able to repair the Sapper's buildings only if there aren't enemies near them.

- We have fixed the bug related to the Barbed Wire Shelter. Now the shelter can be damaged by flying enemies, so you must pay attention!

- We have increased the health points of the precious Barbed Wire.

- Now, all the audio bars in Settings/Audio can be set at 0% (before the minimum value was 1%).


This will be a long war and it has only just begun ...

Hello Generals!
We are continuing to update the game because we want to win this damn war!
Here are the news that this update brings:

- As many of you have asked, we have implemented the possibility to deploy groups of units!
In order to do that, you have to press “Left Ctrl” when you are deploying a unit, and this way you’ll be able to deploy up to 10 troops.
We care about your fingers, we don’t want them to get hurt! :D

- Another good feature you have asked for is the possibility to create group of units during the battle.
We have listened to you and we have added this feature.
If you want to create a group of units, you need to press “Left Ctrl” + 0-9 key. If you want to select one of these groups, you have to press a 0-9 key or the relative button on the screen.

- Many people complained that some small insects as the Formica fusca were invincible.
We have tried to increase the vertical arch of every infantry soldier in order to solve that.
We have never had this problem on our machines, so we need your help in order to test it.
Please tell us if this upgrade has fixed the bug.

- We have decreased the damages caused by both Recon Vehicle guns, because some of you have said that it was over powered.

- The Sapper is a very special unit, but it’s often overpowered.
We have tried to balance it by increasing the cost of its buildings and modifying some variables.
We also need your feedback on this fix, so let us know how it goes.

- We have increased by a little the hitbox of the following enemies:
Formica fusca
Solenopsis invicta

Hi Generals!
Bugs die hard, but we die harder!

This is the new update, so here are the news:

- We have tried to fix the "jumping enemies bug", in other words some jumping enemies used to get trapped under the floor.
Considering that we haven't experienced this bug on our computers, tell us if this update fixes it or not.
Thanks for helping us.

- In the last update, we've forgotten to disable the visibility of the enemy armies in Home Mode; now it's back to normal.

- The "Ready" button will be disabled until the player starts the match. This way it won't be possible to press "Ready" by accident.

- We've added the new option "Bugs per swarm" for Special Swarms too.
Remember, the Special Swarms are: the Ant Swarm, the Grasshopper Swarm and the Wasp Swarm.
It's normal for them to move freely in the home as they don’t have the "one room per turn" limit.

- We've added some "jump point" to the all the couches.

- We've improved the vertical navigation of the infantry. Now your soldiers should get stuck less frequently when they get up or down on the furniture.

- The cost of "Infantry Missiles" was lowered: it was 1 per missile and now it is 0.3 per missile of Refined Plastic.

Hello Generals!
As you can see, we are upgrading the game continuously, fixing bugs and improving the performance, but there are still so many things to do!

These are the new changes:

- As many of you have asked, we've made the difficulty of the campaign customizable, so now you can change it at any time!
These are the parameters that you can modify:
Fresh food abundance
Rotten food abundance
High protein abundance
Bugs per spawn.
The first 3 parameters set the amount of food that bugs can earn, while the fourth parameter adjusts the amount of bug units per spawn.
As it's an experimental phase, help us balance this new feature.
Old Campaign's saves may be incompatible with this update.

- We've increased the initial exp from 150 to 200.
Many players have complained they gain too little exp, but we want to push the player to make strategic choices and not just unlock all possible units from the first campaign.

- We've lowered the Health Points of the enemy Outpost, but we've also reduced the damage caused by the Sapper's dynamite.
This change should increase the effectiveness of the destruction caused by artillery and bombers.

- Some colliders of the Home 1 have been improved.

- Some small generic bugs have been fixed.

Generals, we have the troops and the technology required to wipe out these disgusting invaders from the face of the earth!

Home Wars update to version 1.006

Hi Generals!
War overwhelms all of us.
This is the new update, so here are the news:

- As we've promised yesterday, now you can chose if the aircraft has to attack the target automatically or wait your order.
You can modify this option in Setting/Game at every moment.

- In the "Hall" room of Home 2 there was a bug - it was impossible deploy any unit.
This bug was solved.

- Sometimes in the mission "Defend the supply create until the extraction" the helicopter over the crate started to spin on itself.
This bug was solved, but in case of very low frame rates it could come out. Tell us if it happens.

- Sometimes there have been assigned missions that were incompatible with the room itselves.
Those missions were:
"Defend the Satellite"
"Escort the allied Convoy"
"Destroy the enemy Convoy"
This bug was solved, but if there are any problems, let us know.

- Many of you have said the first Ant Swarm was too big (300 Formica fusca).
For this reason, now it has only 100 groups (if it spawns before turn 15).

- We have changed the default stance of some infantry units.
For example the Light Rifleman now will shoot to the closest enemy (3rd stance), while the Sniper will not (4th stance).

- The production of the Plastic Factory has increased to 600 Refined Plastic.


Many players have asked us to lower the difficulty of the game. The next update will make it possible: you'll be able to change some variables of the enemy Nest in order to make the game easier.

Home Wars update to version 1.005

Hello Generals!
This is the new update of the game, here are the changes:

- As many of you have asked, we have improved the navigation of all units (it wasn't a bug, but a bad optimization). Now your troops will respond to your orders better and faster.

- Many players reported us they couldn't hit some insects. Actually they got hit but didn't give you the feedback if the bullet hit their heads. However now this bug is solved.

- As many people have asked, now, the middle mouse button rotates the camera.
In the Settings/Game you can find a bar that changes its sensitivity too.

- Minor bugs have been fixed.

- As some of you have asked, we have increased the range of "Ammunition Depot" in the battle.
Now it will supply faster the Supply Truck and the Helicopter Truck.

- The sound of the 81mm Cannons of the Spitlead has been changed.

- Some players have asked us to increase the lenght of the battle; for this reason we have tried to do so for 2 missions:
"Defend the allied Outpost"
"Destroy the enemy Outpost".

- We have increased the Health Points of:
Long Range Bomber
Strategic Bomber
Gunship
Spitlead.

- Some of you complained that the Ant Swarm hit them too early in the Campaign. For this reason we have decreased slightly the external Rotten Food and the Rotten Food gained from battles.

- Another "bug" that you have reported us is that soldiers can't shoot on very close enemies.
They could do it! You have to select the 4th behavior of the unit in order to set it to shoot to the closest enemy (IF they don't already have a target).
Now we'll set this behaviour as a default one for some infantry.
Vehicles and some heavy infantry can't attack very close enemies, but it's normal (a tank can't shoot a target that's one metre away from it), so their default behavior remains the 3rd one.

- Now some aircraft units will look for a target automatically, by default:
Strike Aircraft
Ground-Attack Aircraft
Interceptor Aircraft
Fighter Aircraft.
In the next update we'll implement the possibility to enable or disable this feature in Settings/Game.
However now you can disable it manually from the unity box, in the battle.

Generals, we haven't started this War, but we are going to end it!

Home Wars update to version 1.004

Hi Generals!

With this update we hope to solve the launch-crash problem that some of you had.
It's probably a resolution error and this update should solve it.

If you continue to have this problem, please try to:
- set a lower video quality than the current video quality, in the screen before the game launch.
- run the game as admin (right-click on the Home Wars icon on Desktop and then press "run as admin").
- add the game (the whole folder of the game and the process Home Wars.exe) to you antivirus' exclusions list.
- if it's not the first time you run the game, uninstall it and then reinstall it to make sure you don't have corrupted files.

Some computers make take longer to launch the game (even 2 minutes) due to the graphics card, especially on the first launch, so please just wait. If you get the Windows "Program is not responding..." screen, press "Wait for the program to respond".

We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope this update will solve the problem.

DEVELOPERS' TIPS #1 - "First steps to Hell"

Hello Generals!
How are you?
Are you doing your part in this bloody War?

We know you are veteran commanders, but today we want to give you some advices on how to face the first days of the Campaign.

1) Recruit 2-3 armies made of only one Light Rifleman and make them conquer as many empty rooms (white flags) as possible.

2) The industries are the backbone of your Army, so build as soon as possible a Plastic Factory, a Metal Factory and a Power Station. After that you should increase the number of Plastic Factories and start to build 1-2 Academies.

3) Your first unlock should be the Supply Truck, because without it your soldiers will remain out of ammo on the battlefield and they won't be healed.

4) Rush quickly to the enemy rooms. The Enemy needs 3 turns to conquer your room, so you can use this time to produce resources for the armies.

5) Don't enter the mission "Destroy the enemy Outpost" if you don't have any Sappers, artillery or bombers.
The Sapper is always a great soldier! Use it to place dynamite in the enemy outpost (it has to be very close to the outpost to place explosives).

6) Dont't enter the mission "Conquer the flags" if you don't have a good army, because it will be a carnage.

7) Every troop on the battlefield has a behaviour that you can change in the "unit's box" (bottom-left of the screen).
All units, except planes, start with the 3th behavior.
The planes use very expensive weapons, so they will attack ONLY if you order them so; however you can modify their behaviour too.

8) Use the Supply Truck to supply and heal your troops! A battle without supply units is a lost battle.

9) Press "Q" to use a unit (Soldier Mode) and press "E" (when you are in Soldier Mode) to use the special view of that unit (if it has one).

10) Every weapon has a range of fire; if the enemy is out of this range, your unit can't hit it!
If you are using your unit in Soldier Mode, you can hit enemies only if they are in your range of fire. You can check this in the "weapon box" (bottom-left of the screen).

11) READ THE MANUAL!!!

Hi Generals!
Here are the news:

- IMPORTANT: we have removed temporarily the "Insane Dreamers intro" in order to try to fix the initial crash that some of you had.

- the "roster bug" was fixed: when playing a campaign battle after a Custom Battle, the roster of the Custom Battle won't remain active anymore.

- we have improved the Health Points of:

- we have improved the standby of:
Long Range Bomber
