Greetings Survivors,

Welcome to our first ever Zeek Feed where we, the Devs, update you on all things happening in and around the world of HumanitZ. We feel this is a great way for us to share our progress with you!

For our first feed we’ll dive straight in and tell you all what we’ve been up to these past couple of weeks.

We’re pretty sure we’ve isolated the random game crash bug and think this is now solved and looking to push a fix this coming week. We’ve also been working on the reported issues logged by our community from the introduction of the latest patch, so we thank you for all the time and effort people take into logging tickets with us via our Discord and Steam Discussions page.

Additionally, the team has been tweaking the quest system which was teased last week on all social platforms and we are very excited with how this is developing. We will release more info on this when we’re comfortable it is ready to showcase, but we’re extremely excited to get it to you all!



There has been a lot of feedback in regards to the tutorial system. We have completely overhauled the tutorial to better help new Survivors into the game. It is much shorter and easier to follow, giving the very basic survival mechanics, camera and movement options and getting the Survivors out into the world.

SteamDeck support. We are currently working on map optimization as well as level streaming before we can release on SteamDeck. This part of the game must be finished in order to alleviate system requirement barriers with HumanitZ. With that comes improving the controller support as currently there are areas of the game that don't function well with controller but this is something we are actively working on in time for the next major update.



We’ll be adding a basic swimming mechanic to the game so players' immersion isn't broken when walking under water so that will be coming very soon.



Some future changes coming to game:

Loot changes will be tweaked and tested throughout Early Access as we find that perfect apocalypse balance. There will always be settings to increase or lower portions of the game so you can really customise your playstyle but we are looking at making the default settings more in line with what our original vision of the game was, so those that enjoy either being a loot goblin or fighting the elements you’ll still have the settings to modify.

After the quest system is added, we will be moving onto food spoilage, changing how the game currently works making surviving more challenging and adding our vision of realism to the game. We will be adding other food/building resource mechanics to help counter spoilage as well as some inventory management and stack retooling.

We are changing how vehicles spawn so at least one of every type will spawn per server or save including rare vehicles so you’ll just have to explore everywhere to find them.

In true zombie lore, we are thinking of adding the player turning into a zombie on death. If you get infected from a bite, you eventually turn, giving you a chance to seek out your former self or friends and end their suffering. More news on this soon.

Also we are going to experiment with night time chaos changing the way the infected behave taking some inspiration from movies such as I am Legend but just ideas for making the game more challenging and testing the players to the max.

We will also be releasing a brand new Roadmap this month so lookout for that.

And to wrap things up we would like to thank everyone that has supported so far as we head into our 9th month of Early Access the community we are growing here is fantastic and the passion that you show towards HumanitZ really inspires us everyday to improve and better the game.

910.A Update/Patch

Patch Notes 910.A

This small update brings fixes and improvements from the lastest major update and some QOL changes, enjoy!

Server owners: Only a restart is required to pull the latest server update.


  • Fixed players losing skills, levels, XP and stats when leaving game/server via a crash or disonnect inside a vehicle.
  • Fix for random client disconnect from servers.
  • Fixed new base building torch not saving.
  • Changes to Human AI (Bandits) spawn a box on death like the player for looting this is a big performance saving and Fps boost for clients and server.
  • Improvements to basebuilding snapping, colliding, placing of walls and items and further improvements to hiding built roofs.
  • Fixed chainsaw breaking at 0% now it just needs charging with a power tool battery to work again.
  • Chainsaw sound contuning has been fixed.
  • Fixed Chainsaw animation sliding while cutting trees.
  • Fixed ctrl+click not working in log container.
  • QOL improvements to the settings menu so players can change movement and camera options much easier.
  • Improvements to roads and texture blending.
  • Fixed issue with settings resettings to low quality on clicking apply.
  • New Loading screen tips to also help show that the map is loading and not crashed.
  • Changes made to backpack names the adventure backpack and hiking backpack have switched names.
  • Fixes to some house roofs missing the weather material to show snow etc.
  • Fatty toxic zeek HP increased.
  • Fixed car siphon/empty bug.
  • Backpack spawners are now affected by loot rarity settings.
  • Removed 1x broken mining rock from the map.
  • Fixed some houses not allowing zeeks to enter through door ways.
  • Fixed broken collision on stop sign.


Things To Note:

We are currently working on the quest system as our next major update with a new tutorial coming for new players plus a full localization overhaul for all languages this will be included in Update 911, thank you for your support.

Stronghold Update

Hey Survivors!



It's been 6 weeks since our last update and 910 comes with some big changes to base building adding a brand new upgrade system and a new item in the way of a legendary zombie weapon - the good old Chainsaw. You can collect apples from certain trees, extract honey from beehives, and more. Please read the full patch notes to find out what the team has been working on.

Localization Update: There will be missing translation with this update 910 as we are in the middle of finishing our quest system update so all translation and localization for all languages will be included in the 911 update.

Server Info: Official servers will be receiving a fresh clean wipe to allow for the new building upgrade system.

Additionally, the game will be 25% off from April 15th through the 22nd!




  • Building System Update, new upgrade system allowing the player to select different upgrade options for the walls, new building pieces, new stairs, standing torch, log store, and new barriers. When upgrading walls the HP increases with each upgrade added.
  • Chainsaw added. (Kills zeeks, chops down trees and cuts up logs)
  • Interactable Apple Tree added to map.
  • New interactable beehive (players can use empty jars to collect honey from.
  • New biker bar POI added.
  • New Pharmacy Building added.
  • Heatpack item added. (Use and get a 5 minute heat buff).
  • Hardcore HUD mode. (New clean HUD mode for more immersive gameplay or for RP)


  • Player built roofs now hide more than one.
  • Vitals are updated when consuming at the end of the animation
  • M1 garand ping sound added on last shot.
  • Letter destroys self on drop.
  • Extended time that the generator lasts.
  • Roof now hides when driving into a building and also works for passengers.


  • Small UI polish and alignment changes.
  • Build Menu text location and alignment changes for better viewing while in build mode.


  • Added some missing Japanese Localization.
  • Fix for boxer profession finisher bug.
  • Fix for locked vehicles not being able to be lock picked or crowbar.
  • Power line structure collision issue fixed.
  • Fixed collision issues with walls at storage yard.

Experimental Branch 0.910

Hey Survivors, we are back with 910 experimental!

There will be missing translation with this update as we are in the middle of finishing our quest system update so all translation and localization will be included in that patch together with the quest system which will be update 911.

How do I get access to the Experimental branch?
We have added a guide over in our Steam Discussions on how to access the branch. Remember. we strongly recommend creating a new save for this branch to prevent losing your progress.

Outlast and Outrun Update

Hey Survivors!



Are you ready to challenge your own ability to survive?

The Outlast and Outrun Update brings new threats, new challenges, a new game mode, and so much more. Find yourself a brand new muscle car and scavenge through multi-story buildings to get the supplies you need to stay alive or put yourself to the test by outlasting endless waves of zeeks.




  • Scenario game mode unlocked
    This is the first scenario map called Swamp Survival where you have to defend waves of zeeks each day.
  • Multistory Buildings
    Multistory buildings added to parts of the map, and new POIs created
  • Brand new Vehicles (muscle car, rally car, luxury car, new suv)
  • Brand new Zeek threat
  • New Zeek models (Runners, Medical, Police, walkers and more)
  • New base building stairs.
  • New in game challenges to complete.



  • Base defence health increased
  • Improvised Axe will now lose durability faster.
  • Changes to the map and new locations.

909X Experimental Update

909X Update

Here is the hotfix/update for the experimental branch for you all to enjoy!


  • When you have a stamina boost and you drop weight your stamina will now regen as normal.
  • Updated multi story house props for dismantling.
  • Barricading multi story houses now fixed.
  • Fixed connect to IP (Use steam query port).
  • Fixed rain collector not working in scenario map.
  • Fixed issue with cooking stove in the campervan.
  • Character backpack and items now hide correctly in multi story houses.
  • Stats page UI updated.
  • Improvements to all dogs spawns so they don't get stuck and cannot be claimed.
  • Logs that spawn from cutting down a tree now spawn in random locations not in one pile.
  • Time increased for items dropped and white blueprint buildings despawning is now set to 50 hours (2 days roughly on dedicated servers)

Apologies for the back to back patches but we spotted a last minute issue with the servers and the client with the crafting bench. This has now been resolved. Apologies from the team.

All server owners will need to restart their servers and pull the update!

HumanitZ 908.C Mini Patch

HumanitZ 908.C Mini Patch

We recently found an issue with pad locks, advanced locks and ownership, which was able to be overriden and wanted to fix this issue as soon as possbile plus some extra fixes.

Official servers will be restarted along with this update.
Anyone running there own server will need to update the server files.



Patch Notes:

- Fixed pad lock owner advanced lock override issues.
- Fixed bear not spawning fat (for real this time!).
- Removed WIP building item from the building list (Spolier).
- Zombie optimization to help with server performance.
- Added fix for player disconnecting while in a vehicle where player model stays in the world.
- Fixed flashlight battery level not saving/loading properly.
- Change to cooking actors (example: you can now open the cooking stove when its not lit/kindled to remove items from it, but it has to be lit for it to cook the item).
- Enaled Steam cloud saves.
