Hey Survivors!

Christmas is over and we are hitting the new year with a new update for you all.

This update contains a massive change to how the inventory works with the highly requested drag and drop system. That being said, we also made another big change based on your feedback - we adjusted the tilt of the camera which improves visibility and overall visuals of the game.

There will be a new update fixing some of the localization issues incoming soon which we will keep you updated on the moment it is ready.

  • Drag and drop inventory system!!! (One of the most asked for features)
  • New improved camera angle (Another huge requested change, players can now see further and the overall world travelling is greatly improved)
  • You can now lock player containers, vehicles and house doors using the new locks (The advanced lock does not work on vehicles)



  • You have to press L to unlock house doors from inside. (The notification tells you to try L).
  • The dog will not consume energy when stationary.
  • Added options to disable dismantling building and house props. (Avoid raiding in PVE).
  • Dismantling is now owner based and can only be dismantled by owner or members in their group.
  • Screwdriver now acts as a tool and can be added to slot 4.
  • Dismantling the base gate will have a 50% chance of getting your lock back.
  • Lowered HP of all simple traps so they can be destroyed easier.
  • In world item spawners now have a respawn option and timer.
  • Server performance optimization.
  • Improved vehicle network replication.
  • Added god mode command for server owners.
  • Changes to Bandits shooting targeting.



  • Lots of QOL changes to the inventory included with the drag and drop system.

Violent Night Dev Update 0.906X.4

Here at HumanitZ we give out presents early. We've been working on getting you a small patch out before we all enjoy Christmas.

This patch focuses on fixing some issues to give a better overall experience. With the launch of the Violent Night Update, there were some things done to help the game to account for higher player counts, some of which have had a slight impact on the performance of lower numbers for player-hosted games so we have fixed issues to give those affected a better overall experience. We have also addressed some other issues that came up late in testing and were found by you the player. We could not fix everything that's been logged over the last few days, but we have a nice list ready for the New Years patch so thanks for everyone reaching out about the game.

Again we thank you all for the support and passion you are showing for HumanitZ. It helps drive us every day so thank you. We have sooo much awesome stuff coming in 2024 we can't wait to get it out there!

Dedicated server info: All official servers will be receiving the latest patch at the time of the update so please allow for 30 minutes before joining any online servers while the update finishes. All private owners of a server will also need to restart their servers to receive the latest patch.

What this patch includes:



  • Smoother looking player movement for local hosted clients.
  • Fixes for teleporting Zombies.
  • Zeeks now react to vehicle sound on dedicated servers.
  • Fixes for the dog companion (Health regens when fed, fixes for on player death and the dog finding the player).

Violent Night Update

Hey Survivors! Here is our biggest-ever update for HumanitZ - a huge milestone from our Roadmap to 1.0! This update brings two of the biggest requests since launch in September.... dedicated servers and localization. As mentioned in previous updates, more languages will be coming to the game ASAP.

Get in the festive spirit with some Christmas-related items and exciting new content. With new threats and a loyal canine companion joining the survival party, gather your friends and expand your arsenal to navigate the apocalypse.

  • Dedicated Servers* We have partnered with Shockbyte for our dedicated servers! You now have the option to join a couple of official HumanitZ servers. Players are now able to host on their machines and have an option for monthly server provider support. Find out more about monthly server support here. *Current max of 24 players. We will be looking into increasing the player cap in 2024 as we improve performance.

Hey Survivors!
As you know, we have been hard at work with updates to the game using your feedback and our roadmap, which we announced earlier, to guide the direction we take with each update.

The much-anticipated localization feature has been a massive undertaking, and we share your excitement about it. Despite our initial hopes to include it in this update, we've decided to prioritize a seamless experience for players. Our first round of localization is currently undergoing thorough QA testing, and is now slated to be included in our big end-of-year update.

We didn't want to keep you waiting for new features, though. That's why, in the meantime, we're releasing this update.



  • New ‘big’ zeek type added.

  • We’ve upgraded to UE 4.27 in preparation for world optimization and dedicated servers.

Dev Update 0.904A Update/HotFix

Hey Survivors! Here is a small update/hotfix to improve on our last update.


  • New Gas Mask Filter added to allow players to improve durability of equipped Gas Masks.
  • Added Sleep All Multiplayer option to server settings.
  • New lootable events added to the map.
  • New Zambo colour variations added.



  • Adjusted loot rarity and spawn chances to balance the recent loot changes.
  • Zeek bags will now only spawn if there is an item inside it.
  • Destroying placeholder buildings will refund all resources put in.
  • It will take less time to remove hypothermia if the current temperature is hot/very hot.
  • Changed Improvised backpack to use 2x rags instead of 4x.
  • Box of matches now only spawns max of up to 25 in a box.
  • Failed CB radio calls can potentially be intercepted by other hostiles.
  • Lootable cars now have more random colours.
  • Hazmat canister explosions now alert nearby zeeks.



  • Chat box now starts at the last message.
  • Chat text now stays on screen for one second longer.
  • Distance of the driving camera has been slightly increased for better viewing (only for the driver).
  • Sewing kit is no longer able to fix gas masks or night vision goggles.



  • Fixed heli crash multiplayer issues.
  • Fixed Bandits not spawning at the new large camp.
  • Added sound attenuation to player hurt sound.
  • Added Mining sound to Sound Effects volume, lowered the overall sound.

  • Community-Led WIP: After this weeks hotfix, we will be digging into updating the map and giving it some TLC. As we work on rolling this out in future updates, we wanted to make players aware that because we will be upgrading the world, which includes houses, players saves and base location MAY be impacted. As the game is in Early Access, making large improvements like this is necessary. The risk here is worth the reward, as we will be doing some major world building with player feedback through EA.

Hey Survivors! The Halloween Event has now ended which means the following items are gone....for now:

  • Halloween Hoodies
  • Scary mask, skull mask and scythe

We wanted to make sure we had an update ready for you all straight after it.

This update focuses on bug fixes, QOL improvements, minor changes and some new items.






  • Brand new special suppressed scoped MK18 rifle that can only be looted from supply drops.
  • New Night Vision Goggles added to supply drops only.
  • New Sewing Kit item has been added, these can be found in kitchen cupboards or in metal lockers in residential garages. (You click on the sewing kit and then click on the clothing you want to repair to restore some durability back into your clothing).
  • New clothing has been added, including new baseball caps, beanie colour variations and some new jacket variations.
  • New Military Helmet added to supply drop only.
  • New large hidden bandit stronghold has been added to the map (Good luck trying to take their base from them).
  • New distraction mechanic added you can now throw rocks or empty cans (from the quick slot).
  • New Heli crash random events added to the map that can be found spawning high tier loot.
  • New Huddson City spawn location option.



  • Backpacks found in the world now have a random chance of having loot inside of them.
  • Changed Mushrooms to only show in spring and autumn.
  • Removed the L85A2 from loot tables to make way for the new MK18 as we have too many guns using 556 ammo.
  • Changes made to scarce loot (It will now feel like the apocalypse).
  • Hatchet weapon has been moved to a tool item to be equipped to slot 4.
  • Stone Knife attack animations changed to match other knife weapons.
  • Selecting a save will display the character and stats from that save (Only with new saves).
  • Fixed gun fire attenuation noise heard by AI (All ranged weapons now have different sound range in which attracts all types of AI).
  • Texture optimizations made all around the map.
  • 20% chance for arrows breaking upon impact.
  • Adjusted stamina consumption for bow and crossbow (now stamina is taken when reloading).
  • Changes made to zombie spawners to spread them around a lot more.
  • Changes made to spawn chance of loot containers (Balancing of finding rare items).



  • Picking up a quick slot item while inventory is full will put the item in the quick slot.
  • Added search option to friend list when inviting through steam.
  • Added save confirmation when exiting the game.
  • Distance of the driving camera has been slightly increased for better viewing (only for the driver).



  • Fixed client not being able to dismantle props into the houses with fireplaces.
  • Fixed saving issues with dismantling and removing all props from all houses.
  • Fixed some furniture that was not able to be dismantled.
  • Fixed fuel/siphon animation not playing for clients when a backpack is equipped.
  • Smoothed out current weather reading to avoid sudden temperature change while weather is still transitioning.
  • Fixed white box pickup glitch when equipping a clothing item from a quick slot and there's no room for it.
  • Fixed shooting collision issues inside large city houses.
  • Fixed gun store window barricade spawning infinite destructible items.
  • Fixed barbed bat visual bug.
  • Fixed football helmet socket location.

Halloween Event Exclusives:



  • 7 new Halloween items added; including weapons, masks, and clothing. One mask can only be found in graves so get digging. (Some items will not be available after the event finishes, so get them while you can!)

  • Halloween fun sound effects have been added during nighttime.

We've seized the opportunity to fix some bugs and enhance your experience with quality-of-life changes in this update as well.

Quality of Life Improvements:



  • Added new “unstuckgeo” command that now checks for being stuck in geometry (i.e., windows or light posts. Normal unstuck will only try if it detects you're actually stuck in animation).
  • Added a collision check for getting out of the car.
  • Building doors will now ignore pawns momentarily while being opened and closed.
  • Campfires will now respect roofs (in some cases they would go out when it's snowing or raining if under a roof).
  • Foliage will also spawn items stacked.
  • Improved animal harvest location of all animals.
  • Keybind added for text chat.
  • Server settings allow you to lock into one season.
  • Table saw now spawns items stacked.
  • Chat notification when someone joins/leaves the server.
  • Gamma setting added (for players who are scared of the dark).

Bug Fixes:



  • Adjusted zeek scream investigation location.
  • Fixed arrow headshots against armored zeeks.
  • Fixed backpack tooltip issue.
  • Fixed client unable to use a flashlight upon death while it's on.
  • Fixed not getting kicked out of lockpicking when you have no lock picks left.
  • Fixed insufficient stamina message on screen when using middle mouse for rotation.
  • Fixed temperature issues.
  • Fixed the ability to consume/equip items from trader inventory.
  • Fixed the car salesman exploit with trader.
  • Fixed trader not attacking client-side.
  • Fixed zombies showing through storage doors.
  • Table saw will not allow another log until done.
  • Fixes to the spawn point.

Community Driven Updates:



  • House static props can now be dismantled for resources; this is WIP (only houses with fireplaces can be cleared/dismantled currently).
  • A new sports shop has been added to the map and all country hockey masks, as well as additional new items, have been moved to these locations. (We have removed all of these mentioned masks from wardrobe loot to new sports store loot).

  • Added a check for weapons while driving to prevent strange collisions.
  • Added a dirty water source to fishing lakes at the end of the small wooden docks.
  • Added Thief, Wrestler, and Light Foot skills.
  • Added a wooden bench to craft that you can sit on.

  • Drivable cars sometimes have random loot in the trunk.

Thank you to everyone who helped flag these issues over the weekend, we worked as fast as we could on getting a hotfix out, which you can see below.


  • Fixed zombies spawning in trees.
  • Fixed zombies spawning on top of each other.
  • Improved zombie navigation.
  • Fixed L85A2 rifle disappearing.
  • Fix for missing skills on older saves.
  • Fixed weapon crates slot issue for crates found in the world.
