1. All 12 characters (including Yoongeon) available

Yoongeon, who has been introduced on several occasions, is a stylish character who can be both melee/long range dealer equipped with 2 swords and an ancient weapon.

He is not quite ready to be released during the Stress Test, but we are shaping him up to be ready for the Early Access. Please stay tuned for the grand reveal of ‘Yoongeon’.

2. New game mode added; Free for All

New game mode: Free for all, took the best from the exciting Battle Royale fights and Tag match modes.
Unlike other modes, if a character dies, you can be revived after a certain period of time and quickly return into battle, as well as change the character, considering the situation. In order to win in FFA mode, you must not only focus on killing the players, but also utilize various tactics by destroying the terrain and using the surrounding objects.

We created a variety of emotes for Hunter’s Arena: Legends using motion capture technology. We will include 5 dance emotes in the Early Access package.

※ Please understand that you may experience the lower quality of the images due to size restrictions.

Jun & Dara Visual Improvements

Greetings Hunters!

After several Beta tests, many reviews were sent to us.
From those, we received fresh ideas that undoubtedly helped us improve various aspects of Hunter's Arena: Legends.
The topic of particularly active discussions was improving the quality of characters.

Even though each character has a unique storyline in the lore of Hunter's Arena: Legends, Jun and Dara were told to be separated and disconnected from the other characters in the visual sense.

Jun, born into a family of the strongest martial arts masters, strove to achieve great strength, self-development, and gain combat experience. Jun's face has become more mature according to his legend.

Dara, who is loved by many players of Hunter's Arena: Legends, is the character created by the Ancient Weapon Master. Therefore, the quality has been improved in a way that suits her concept better.

All the changes described above will be available during the Stress Test, which will be held on June 26. Also, we are always open and ready to listen to your valuable feedback.

Thank you.

Dev-Diary #1

To all the players that have shown love and support to Hunter’s Arena: Legends,
Hello, from all of us at Mantisco.

Hunter’s Arena: Legends has experienced countless adversities and setbacks during the Alpha and two Closed Beta Tests. But through the constant feedback and support from our beloved players, we were able to improve each time and come to where we are today.
We are very glad that we were not alone, and thanks to the support of many players, we are sure that the game will continue to move in a positive direction.
We would like to take a moment and shed some light on the development status announced earlier through Steam news.

1. Game Optimization

As we mentioned on several occasions, Mantisco has put the most effort into solving the optimization issues. We are directing majority of our focus on the frame drops and prolonged loading times when entering the game.

Frame drops during a certain time

We have had issues with inadequate use of resources while rendering that occurs as time passes in the game.
We are currently working to fix them.

Frame drops near the barrier

The barrier’s framework caused an abnormally high resource consumption. We are working on optimization, while maintaining the visual component of the barrier.

Loading time on game launch

In earlier versions, all of the resources for Battle Royale, Team mode, etc. were “preloaded” on launch.
The advantage of such a system was that the loading times of any of the game modes were much shorter. However, entering the initial lobby took too long.

With the help of some feedback you gave us, we started working on accelerating the loading time by; breaking the process into short stages and reducing them to optimize the resource consumption.

Frame drops in certain dungeons

We have discovered that players experienced frame drops in certain dungeons. We are currently working on resolving this issue.

2. Character Balance

We aim to provide a balance that many players can agree on while maintaining the unique individuality of each character.

Looking back on the 1st CBT, the character that was mentioned and talked about more than any other one through our Steam community and Discord was ‘Jun’.

It was so well-balanced that even beginners could easily played the character. But after reviewing various feedback and CBT data, we realized that we needed to make some changes. As a result, we conducted a thorough internal review to bring a better-balanced version of Jun.

Mimi and Samjang were the focus of feedback for 2nd CBT.
Mimi was considered too strong while Samjang appeared too weak.
Ironically, "Mimi" was not changed much from the 1st CBT, but opinions on her surged after "Jun" was adjusted.

As such, not limited to those characters only, balancing adjustment will be continuously done constantly changes according to game tactics, strategies, minor balance updates, meta, etc.
We will keep improving character balance during the development process, and are ready to hear your additional feedback.
We will do our best to provide fair game balance to make the game much more enjoyable.

3. Battle Royale Tutorial

We realized that many players needed time in learning the new style of gameplay and combat system of Hunter's Arena: Legends.

For that, we apologize for not providing useful tips and effective tutorials to help you shorten the learning curve.
To make up for that mistake, our team has been improving the game guide, in-game tutorial, and other useful tips to help everyone enjoy our game. We promise to develop other ways to provide better user experience.
We look forward to getting more of your feedback to make our game better.

4. Killcam/Highlights/Replays

Many players requested features that would help to look back on some moments in past fights and analyze their own performance.

To meet these requests, we are developing new features such as Killcam, Highlights, and Replays to provide more information about your opponent's item level, character level, etc.

We will continue to make various updates to make Hunters Arena an even more enjoyable experience.

5. Early Access Package

The Hunter's Arena base package will include all 12 characters, including the recently added Yoongeon character, as well as 4 different game modes: Battle Royale (Solo, Trio), Tag Match and Free For All.

Yoongeon is a new character who must balance between melee and ranged attacks depending on the situation. he uses two swords as a weapon attack, along with his ancient weapon the “Black Tiger Sword” (A floating sword).

We will share more detailed information of ‘Yoongeon’ through our Steam News.

Our latest mode, Free for All, is a way for four players to battle each other in one space. Unlike other modes if a character dies, you can respawn after a certain time and quickly rejoin the battle. You can change your character strategically based on the situation.

Victory does not just depend on the player skill, but also on utilizing various gimmicks available only in the Free for All mode.
In addition, at the beginning of Early Access, the game will have a ranking system for each game mode, which we hope will motivate you to spend more time thinking about strategy and ways to demolish your enemy.
We also have plans for some new game modes with various concepts. We will make sure to publish updates on the future development status.

6. Future Plans

It is still early, but Mantisco would like to share new issues we come across from Early Access to Official Release.
We would like to always inform you of the current situation and solve problems together as one community.
We have no doubt that together, we will create a version of Hunter's Arena that will impress our players.

All of us at Mantisco will do our best to create a better game for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you so much for your patience and support for Hunter’s Arena: Legends!

Introducing the new game mode: Free For All

Hello Hunters!

After publishing the Early Access news, Mantisco team has been working hard to make Hunter's Arena: Legends gameplay even more enjoyable.

Today, we will be taking a peek into one of our development plans - FFA (Free For All). You might have seen the preview image of the FFA mode if you have participated in either Alpha or Beta test.

FFA (Free For All) Is a mode where everyone is an enemy, and the battle continues for a prolonged amount of time.

1. Number of players: 4 players

2. Max. play time: 10 min.
- In the FFA mode, your character will be auto-revived after each death and you will be given an option to switch characters at each revival.
- Choose your character wisely based on your opponents’ actions and find your own strategy at a given time.

3. Win conditions:
- A faster victory is also possible when one of the players reaches a certain score.

4. Scoring system:
- Enemy kills
- Acquiring certain buffs
- etc.

※ The content of these rules may be changed in the process of development.

It might be difficult to accumulate points just by focusing on the player kills. The key is to utilize the different objects that are created during the game.
In addition, there are objects that can destroy some landscapes, which will allow you to further diversify your tactics.

FFA mode will be a different kind of experience compared to Battle Royale/Tag match mode. We hope you look forward to it as much as we do.

Thank you for your support.

Hunter’s Arena: Legends Development Status

Greetings, Hunters!

We are working hard to improve and add content to the game based on the feedback that was provided by Hunter’s arena CBT players.

Today, we would like to share some updates about our game for all of you that have been waiting.

As we mentioned on several occasions, our main focus lately has been FPS optimization. We might not solve all problems at once, but we will do our best to make our efforts lead to meaningful results in game.

: Game client optimization
: Server response time improved

During the testing phase, game optimization was not in the best condition. We would like to once again, thank our test participants. We will keep working hard on optimization to provide players with more fluid gameplay.

Yoongeon, who couldn’t be played in the last CBT is at its final step of development. Yoongeon is a melee character that uses dual swords and is notable for the fact that he can summon an ancient weapon, which can be used to carry out long-range attacks.

Other than Yoongeon we are also working on Dalgi, who is one of the core characters in Hunter’s Arena story. Hang tight to see who will be the next character that will blow you away

Many Hunters have requested ‘custom game mode’ to be added to the game during CBT. So we are planning to add features where you can create your own ‘Battle Royale’, ‘Tag Match’, and ‘Free For All’.

: Custom game mode added
: Tag mode playable when paired up with a friend as a party.
: Custom mode will gradually become available as development proceeds.

The new custom game mode will be utilized to create various event/tournaments in the future.

We are always thinking of ways for beginners to easily learn and play Hunter’s Arena: Legends.

The guides will help new players to enjoy the game with existing players, which will help to increase the quality of the overall gameplay environment in the long run.

We learned during CBT that our controls guide and a few game tips were not enough to fully enjoy our game. We are currently updating the combat/BR tutorial to help the newcomers adapt to the game.

: New FFA (Free For All) Mode added
: Character balance fixes
: Ranking System Added
: World map visibility fixes
: Control improvements when stopping after running

All the information above will be posted separately in the Steam news section. We will focus on creating a better game, while utilizing the information learned through the user feedback.

We will be back soon with more updates on Hunter's Arena: Legends.

Thank You.
