Han sneaks his way into Hyper Universe!
Hey Hypers,
Get ready to hunt down your opponents as the Nine-Tailed Fox! Han is an extremely mobile Striker that will make your enemies dizzy as they try to pin him down. Han’s bag of tricks goes deep and this hyper will require a lot of skill and patience to master. Han will be added to the game as part of Official Launch on Wednesday the 17th.
Skill Overview:
Passive - Spirit Energy
Han’s attacks are infused with spirit energy and can ignore enemy Defense. The effect increases per enemy hyper defeated. Han also deals additional damage based on his Defense Penetration, in proportion to the enemy’s current health.
Nimble Fox (A) Han’s perfect reflexes allow him to shoot an arrow and skillfully leap forward or backward, depending on the direction pressed.
Soul Mark (Q) [Soul Mark] Han calls upon vengeful nature spirits to increase his Attack and Life Steal, and decrease enemy Movement Speed for every regular attack or Nimble Fox hit. Hits mark the enemy’s soul, and for the Duration Han can use Soul Drain if there at least one Soul Marked enemy nearby. [Soul Drain] The spirits of nature claw at the enemy’s soul, decreasing their Movement Speed. When the enemy has 2 or more marks, the damage and Movement Speed reduction increases for each mark. Han gains Health for every mark absorbed with Soul Drain.
Foxfire (W) Han teleports forward, leaving a foxfire to mark his territory. Pressing the skill key again before the foxfire ends teleports Han back to it.
Spirit Shadow (E) Han calls in the perfect support, a perfect clone of himself. The clone cannot move but has the same strength as Han himself. The clone uses regular attacks on the enemies within 900 units. Clone disappears when duration ends of Health reaches 0.
Nine-tailed Wrath (R) Han releases the power of Nine-tailed Fox within him to increase his Max Health, Life Steal, and Movement Speed. Every Spirit Energy stack obtained increases the Duration.
Using Han’s Skills Effectively:
Han is an extremely mobile and hard to catch Hyper. His ability to move not only around the map, but around enemy Hypers in a battle is unmatched. You can start a fight against an enemy Hyper with Nimble Fox, or Foxfire if you need to close distance to them. Once you are fighting, you’ll want to lay down his Spirit Shadow for extra damage. Be cautious though, as the clone does have a health bar and can be killed, so be mindful of placement around towers. Once you’re in a fight with someone, use your Soul Mark to stack debuffs on the enemy until you reach max and then detonate them by using Soul Mark again. This is a high damage combo and will likely leave the enemy at low to no health. If you are getting overwhelmed be sure and use Foxfire to move around erratically, or to escape from enemies who are pursuing you. If you are in a good spot and can lay down unobstructed fire on the enemy, then make sure and use Nine-tailed Wrath to get the stat bonuses. If you use it along with Soul Mark you can do a fierce amount of damage in a short amount of time to an enemy. A word of caution for you; Remember where you are placing your Foxfire. You don’t want to teleport back to your original fire only to find out it was under a Tower!
Recommended Build:
Cloud Moccasin, Cursed Arrow, Breath of Fire, Headhunter, Dragon’s Bane, Fury of the Wild
The first thing that you will probably notice about this recommended build is that there are no boots. The custom item Cloud Moccasin is an extremely cheap item that will up your movement speed and use of his Nimble Fox skill. This is going to be your bread and butter skill to get out of trouble or engage on the enemy. We recommend Cursed Arrow as it gives a significant damage boost as well as a ranged attack distance boost. As for the rest of the items, it’s a fairly straight forward striker damage build. Breath of Fire will be almost always active due to the shortened cooldown on Nimble Fox and the increased damage from Dragon’s Bane and Fury of the Wild should make short work of anyone who isn’t a tank. Make sure you are getting kills as your Defense Penetration goes up the more kills you have!
Not sure what to build? As always, you can hop into our Discord to discuss itemization with other players.
You can blast into the battlefield with Han for a mere 15,000 GP or use a Hyper Coupon, which you can earn by leveling up and playing games.

Tae'guk balances his harmony in Hyper Universe!
Hey Hypers,
Get ready to unleash your inner fire with Tae’guk! Tae’guk is a cold blooded Assassin that will end anyone who stands in his way. He can be extremely punishing to anyone caught out in the open and is difficult to take down even with a group. Tae’guk will be added to the game as part of Official Launch on Wednesday, the 17th.
Skill Overview:
Passive - Harmony
When Tae’guk channels the void, he can extend his skills with linked attacks. The linked attack ignores all interference effects except Grappled.
Channel Energy (A) When Tae’guk’s balance begins to suffer, he can meditate to recover harmony orbs, Health, and Mana.
Blade of Wind (Q) Tae’guk slips through the air to strike his foes with a swift kick, launching them into the air. [Harmony Activation] Using a void orb lets him follow with a second flip.
Surge of Earth (W) Tae’guk surges forward with a kick as solid as a mountain, pushing enemies and dealing damage. [Harmony Activation] Using a void orb lets him add a second kick that launches enemies.
Shield of Water (E) Tae’guk meditates on the ebb and flow of water, allowing its energy to cover and protect him. Ignores all restricting and interference effects except Grappled. [Harmony Activation] Using a void orb lets him lift into the air and strike to either side, reducing Movement Speed.
Wave of Fire (R) Tae’guk focuses his inner fire on his legs, crashing down with a fiery strike that damages, stuns, and pulls enemies to him. [Harmony Activation] Using void orbs lets Tae’guk cut loose with a three-hit finishing combination.
Using Tae’guk’s Skills Effectively:
Tae’guk is an extremely powerful Assassin in the right hands. His skills can quickly link together to make combos that will kill or incapacitate squishy targets very quickly. The important caveat to Tae’guk is that he quickly runs out of both Mana and Harmony Orbs. You’ll need to keep Channel Energy off of cooldown to be able to use it in the middle of a battle. You will not have enough orbs or Mana to string together all of your abilities at once. Remember that the full combo for his ultimate, Wave of Fire, requires TWO Harmony Orbs to be able to execute properly. This means you’ll need to prioritize which attacks you’ll burn the extra Harmony Orb on or choose to use Channel Energy in the middle of an engagement. If you find that you have run out of Harmony Orbs in the middle of a fight and it’s going South quickly, don’t forget to use your enhanced Shield of Water. Not only does it reduce damage taken, but it will ignore impairment effects from enemies. Blade of Wind and Surge of Earth will be your gap closers and engagement abilities. Just remember to plan out your attacks so you have the proper amount of Mana and Harmony Orbs. Tae’guk is not your standard run-and-gun button mashing Assassin. You’ll need to plan your attacks accordingly so be careful!
Tae’guk has extremely high offense, but suffers from a low defense. This is combined with the fact that he really has no way of getting out of trouble if you are caught off guard by your enemy. For this Assassin, you’ll want to mix a healthy amount of defensive items with your offensive ones. Shock Knuckles provide a great boost to both offense and defense and were almost tailor made for Tae’guk. Twisted Energy gives Tae’guk more harmony orbs to spend in combat which equals more damage and longer life. Black Uniform upgrades his Shield of Water skill to also remove all interruption effects so he has a greater chance of disengaging when necessary.
Not sure what to build? As always, you can hop into our Discord to discuss itemization with other players.
You can blast into the battlefield with Tae’guk for a mere 15,000 GP or use a Hyper Coupon, which you can earn by leveling up and playing games.

Perseus writes his legend in Hyper Universe!
Hey Hypers,
Get ready to hop into a legend with Perseus! Perseus is a legendary hero from mythical times here to save the universe. He is a very mobile, aggressive, frontline Specialist with a kit to get work done wherever he goes. Perseus will be added to the game as part of Official Launch on Wednesday the 17th.
Skill Overview:
Passive - Immortal Hero When Perseus' Health gets low enough, he momentarily becomes invisible and reduces damage taken to 1 from all sources. During this time, Perseus cannot use any skills or regular attacks.
Valor (A) Swings the weapon to do damage. Can be used up to 2 times. Consumes valor to cast the skill.
Controlled (Q) Pulls the enemies in front, damaging and controlling them. Then Perseus pierces the controlled target with his sword, turning and striking it down to do damage and launch them. Other enemies within the range of the strike also take damage.
Heroic Leap / Heroic Strike (W) Uses the power of Hermes in the magic sandals to leap into the air. You can freely turn while leaping, and using a regular attack before landing connects to Heroic Strike. Heroic Leap can be used while jumping. Ignores all restricting effects and lets you move faster and farther when used while jumping, but cannot be connected to Heroic Strike. It also increases the cooldown and causes landing paralysis upon landing.
Dauntless Resolve (E) Hardens resolve to decrease the duration of some effects applied to Perseus and steal the attacker's Attack and Defense.
Gorgon's Gaze (R) Releases the power of the Gorgon in the shield, inflicting Petrified on all enemies facing Perseus and increasing their Defense. If the enemies weren't facing Perseus they are afflicted with Stunned instead of Petrified.
Using Perseus’ Skills Effectively:
Perseus is an amazing engager and in-your-face brawler. He has a great mix of agility and brutality mixed in his kit that will keep the opponents on their toes. You can close the gap between you and your opponent with your Controlled ability. It will lunge Perseus forward and grab them and smash them into the ground opening them up for attack. If they are a bit further away, you can use Heroic Leap / Heroic Strike together to launch the enemy after leaping through the sky towards them. This skill can also be used after a jump to quickly fly in one direction. Although this will trigger a longer cooldown it allows you to quickly cover a lot of ground to either get away from or close distance on your foes. His Dauntless Resolve will ensure that he can get in and out of situations easier than most. If you are feeling extremely aggressive you can close the gap with Heroic Leap / Heroic Strike and immediately combo that into Controlled for another second of CC and as they are falling back down after Controlled you can combo in his ultimate Gorgon’s Gaze which will hit before the enemy lands. This is a very aggressive, high damage combo that will surely leave your enemy afraid. Good luck out there Hypers.
Recommended Build:
Breath of Fire, Immortal Kynee, Swift Talaria, Dragon’s Bane, Shrieking Blade, Sanguine Scythe
Perseus IS a front line attacker but he is also EXTREMELY fast and agile. You will want to use equipment that leverages this. You are going to want to focus on attack damage and speed whenever possible. The idea is to get in quickly, hit the enemy as hard and as fast as possible and then run away. Stragglers that got away from you earlier? Not when Perseus has entered the battlefield. His swift movement speed and leaps will make short work of any and all attackers. Team losing in a fight? Need to run away? His Heroic Leap coupled with Swift Talaria will ensure that no one catches you unaware.
Not sure what to build? As always, you can hop into our Discord to discuss itemization with other players.
You can blast into the battlefield with Perseus for a mere 15,000 GP or use a Hyper Coupon, which you can earn by leveling up and playing games.

Camilla Whips the Competition!
Hey Hypers,
Get ready to whip the competition soon with Camilla! She is a saucy succubus determined to feast on the dreams of her opponents. Her support kit allows her to pacify large groups of enemies at her will and will prove a devastating enemy if left unchecked. Camilla will be added to the game as part of patch 4.0 on Wednesday the 17th.
Skill Overview:
Passive - Night Terror
Spread dream's essence nearby and steal enemy hyper's Mana continuously.
Lash of Discipline (A)
Lashes whip, dealing damage. When an allied hyper is hit, increases Attack Speed and Movement Speed instead of damaging the enemy hyper.
Lash of Pleasure (Q)
Lashes whip, dealing damage. When an allied hyper is hit, increases Attack and Defense instead of damaging the enemy hyper.
Lucid Dream (W)
Closes her eyes to summon a damage absorption bubble that shields a hyper of her choice within 1,600 units. The hyper ignores all interference and restricting effects while the shield is active.
Sweet Kiss (E)
Pull in all enemies in front and absorb their spirit, dealing damage and decreasing Mana.
Charmed (R)
Camilla creates a field of desire that seduces enemy Hypers around her. Seduced Hypers become charmed by Camilla and follow her, ignoring all interference effects except Grappled during the Duration. Seduced Hypers cannot be charmed again for a certain amount of time.
Using Camilla’s Skills Effectively:
Camilla is a support through and through. She excels at keeping the enemy team CC’d and unable to do anything. However, she isn’t ONLY an enemy team menace, she can also whip her team into buffed states by using Lash of Pleasure and Lash of Pain. Using these skills against your OWN team will give them powerful buffs for short durations of time, specifically meant to be used right before team fights. If you need to single out an enemy or a group of enemies you can use her Sweet Kiss which will pull in enemy Hypers and drain their mana, leaving them temporarily vulnerable to a team attack. Once the team fight starts you’ll want give your Lucid Dream shield to a friendly teammate to shield them and then use Charmed to seduce the enemy team. Once they are charmed they will run towards Camilla, losing control of their character for a short duration and opening them up to your team for huge amounts of damage.
Camilla is an extremely powerful support unit. She won’t ever be on the frontline doing damage though, so keep that in mind. You want to build her with cooldown reduction and defense so she stays alive. You will be the one who can start an engagement and the one who can end one. Make sure to be ready to hop into the frontline and the center of combat having your Charmed ultimate ready to go, but also make sure you are building enough defense to stay alive once you do. Cooldown reduction will help make sure that you can fire your skills off over and over. Victory comes at the cost of whipping your teammates, don't forget!
Not sure what to build? As always, you can hop into our Discord to discuss itemization with other players.
You can blast into the battlefield with Camilla for a mere 15,000 GP or use a Hyper Coupon, which you can earn by leveling up and playing games.

Letter from Producer - 1/3/18
Hello Hypers,
Happy New Year!
A new year has begun and so has our countdown to January 17, our official launch date!
And yes, the highly anticipated Camilla is one of the six. Camilla joins Perseus, Sonya, Gulunba, Han, and Tae’guk in the lineup for combined total of 41 available hypers for you to choose from at launch.
Apart from the exciting news of the launch date, I’m going to cover a little more dry/technical topic of service regions today. There was some confusion about where Hyper Universe is available during Early Access. Although we are a global service, there were some countries we were not able to reach right off the bat due to a mix of territorial, technical, and contractual issues.
But we have expanded steadily throughout the Early Access period and you will be able to play almost everywhere on January 17. A comprehensive country list can be found at the end of this page, but we will basically service all regions except Russian Federation, Cuba, and of course Korea (since there’s already a Korean service). We are working on opening China--we attempted to open this region with our last Free Weekend in December, but we ran into some unforeseen technical issues. So we have closed it for now and will try again once we’ve sorted out the issues.
We will keep our regional server structure broken down as North America, Europe, South America, and South East Asia. As we did during Early Access, we will be monitoring ping as well as server population to see if servers need to be relocated or added for better service.
Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese were added in-game as of the last patch, but they are still both a work-in-progress with untranslated text showing. On January 17, we will remove the Beta tags on those languages and our official game languages will be English, French, German, Portuguese, and both simplified and traditional Chinese.
In our march towards official launch, we are doing everything we can to get the word out on Hyper Universe. As one of our Early Access founders, you can help by participating in the
Share event or sharing any and all updates on our Facebook and Twitter .
We will be unveiling new videos, developer AMA, Refer a Friend system, new art, and important dates and times daily so keep checking our pages.
Here’s to Hyper Happy New Year.
Until next week,
Hyun K, Producer

Letter from Producer - 12/28/17
Hello Hypers,
Are you enjoying the holidays and looking forward to 2018? I know I am! I’m especially looking forward to mid-January because that’s when Hyper Universe is going Free-to-Play. As with any online game heading into launch, the burning question for Hyper Universe right now is our monetization model. So today, I hope to discuss our plans with you and make it clear that we are very much Free-to-Play.
It’s important to us that Hyper Universe be a true Free-to-Play game. This model exists to remove barriers to entry for players. But for a PVP game like ours, it’s not enough that you simply come in for free since you’re matching your wits and skills against other players--money should never give you an edge over your wits or skills. If you can just buy your wins, why even bother playing?
So Hyper Universe’s monetization model is pretty simple: pay for bling. You pay to outfit your favorite Hypers and your account. As a result, the bulk of our Cash Shop consists of Hyper skins. Prices of these skins vary based on how much development was put in (if a skin has new voiceover it will cost more, for instance), but all skin prices range between $6 and $13, with most landing at $10.
There will be packages that bundle Hypers, skins, slots, and emotes to give you some savings for wanting it all. And that’s really it for paying with cash--no random loot box exclusive items, no cash equips, no advantages, period. Everything else, you can buy with either NX cash or with Game Points (GP) earned by playing the game.
Some of you have wondered if you will need to pay for Hypers. Hypers can be unlocked with 15k GP, earned through our crafting system, or purchased for $5, but we want our non-paying players to be on equal footing with paying players when they start. We have therefore made it so that you are equipped with a good set of Hypers from the beginning. From level 1 to 5, you receive 4 free Hypers (Allen, Athena, Celine, and Sun Wukong). At level 6, you receive 30k GP, which means you can choose to buy 2 more Hypers. At level 8 and then again at 10, you get a Hyper Coupon that allows you to unlock a Hyper of your choice. By this time, you should have amassed enough GP to buy another Hyper or so, not to mention all the in-game and community events we run to give away free Hypers.
All equipment is sold only for GP in our service, Hyper cubes are not purchasable, and everything we sell in the Shop--including the skins--will be in the cubes.
Players who have previously played other Nexon games and have felt the sting of separated NX Credit and Prepaid will be happy to know that NX is consolidated for Hyper Universe. So no matter how you charge NX, it will all sum up to one balance.
Hyper Universe is a small but passionate team. We all play our game and share many of the concerns you have. Keeping the game Free-to-Play is one of our top priorities. This is only the first iteration of the Shop so of course we are working on expanding our inventory of goods (I personally would love to have voiceover packs), but I can guarantee you that we will never sell anything that gives a player an edge over another.
I hope I’ve been able to address your biggest questions about our monetization model today.
Happy Holidays and New Year!
Until next week,
Hyun K, Producer
Letter from Producer - 12/21/17
Hello Hypers,
I hope you were pleasantly surprised by our announcement of Hyper Universe graduating Early Access going Free to Play in January, 2018.
On behalf of everyone at Nexon and Cwavesoft, I’d like to thank each and every one of you Founders for being with us throughout our Early Access rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs. As you know, we did not have as many players join us as we would have liked, but there nevertheless were a lot of learnings we now take to our official service.
We entered Early Access with hopes of polishing and shaping the game with you.
Some of you contributed actively by directly telling us what you like and don’t like.
But all of you contributed by simply doing what you do best: playing the game. I can tell you some of our days were made (sometimes ruined) by the game telemetry data.
Through various social channels you told us that you don’t want to be restricted to AI when you first start; that you don’t appreciate NA version “censoring” original version; that monetization of the game should not take away from a true free to play experience. You told us where the servers should be located, which hypers need balancing, and how maps should be reconfigured.
None of this data has been lost to us. You already saw some changes, but we promise that you will see even more as we launch into our official service, and we are excited to keep shaping the game with even more feedback from you.
We are now on the last leg of Hyper Universe Early Access. Keep an eye on us as we reveal more news leading up to the launch day.
Until next week,
Hyun K, Producer
