New Steel Tools

-Steel shovels x2
-Steel Pole-Sickle
-Steel Pickaxe
-Steel Machete
-Steel Carpenter Axe

Flour Flower

Create new plants! Experiment with combining seeds from two species and adding some evo flakes. Why wait for evolution, when you can speed it up?

Oven and Flatbread

You can build an oven out of stone and clay, then bake some tasty flatbread in it, using dough from the new plant!

Some bug fixes and smaller improvements

-Fixed exploit that could duplicate stackable containers.
-Moringa pods can be put in container.
-Fixed crashes that accrue by creating new tool while having tool durability blessing.
-Fixed some translation errors, and overlap in Czech language
-Fixed Today's quest not refreshing when one switches regions

The Age of Iron

Iron Age 1

-Iron Age 1 will follow after Bronze Age 4 has been completed

- There is a new biome where one can find rocks that contain magnetite (iron ore)

- Magnetite can be extracted using fire setting and pickaxe

- You can build a furnace for smelting magnetite into iron bars

- You can cast knife blade, spear head and axe head shapes using molten iron

- A rock that performs the function of an anvil can be found. The cast iron shapes can be hammered into steel items on this natural anvil.

New skill: Blacksmithing.

Daily Quests

- The system for earning spirit fragments will change. There will be daily quests that award you SFs when you complete them. Your quest progress will be visible in new GUI components.

Blessings

- There will be a system of Blessings that can be invoked for a tribe. A blessing does two things: 1) it prolongs the tribe's life; 2) it bestows a bonus on the players in the tribe, for a limited time. (examples of bonuses: increased max stamina, increased experience gain, increased skill levels, ...)

Play Cost Reduction

- Reduced cost for resurrecting or joining a live public tribe. Actually, we will unify the two cases, so you can play for 4SF even if the tribe is dormant (died out) before you start. Remember that you need to activate a blessing quickly if the tribe has no lite time left though!

New Language : Czech

New fan translation available in this update: Czech.
Thanks to player Klauny for doing the translation work!

Other Misc.

- Mushrooms will be more plentiful. They appear in patches now

- The fig tree will not appear in desert anymore, but in the new, rocky biome. This tree will appear in the desert instead of fig tree

- Also plenty of smaller improvements and some bug fixes.

Quality of Life update

We are working on a couple of big features, but since those take time to get finished, we decided to give you a smaller update while you are waiting for the big stuff:

Containers are Stackable

Many players requested this, so we have now added it in game!
New items you can stack in this update:
-Leaf Bowls
-Clay Bowls
-Clay Soup Plates
-Clay Pots
-Baskets
-Soapstones

Natural objects stay removed

Natural objects that you remove from the map after this update, will stay removed even after resurrecting the tribe. (This is not true for objects you removed before the update. Those may have to be removed once again.)

German language

We have included a fan-created translation to German.
Shout-out to @Maengish, who single-handedly translated everything. We have the best fans, and you are most likely the best-est ːsteamhappyː ːsteamhappyː ːsteamhappyː

Cairn Improvement

Players will now spawn only around the tallest existing cairns on an island. Smaller cairns will be ignored for this purpose.

Santa has returned home for now

Santa says thank you and goodbye for this season. Don't worry, he will be back some day.

Spirit Fragments and more!

Tribe Ownership and Invitations

1. We removed the system with resurrection points on tribes. There will no longer be a point where the tribe "dies". It can be resurrected as many times as you like, using personal points that you earn by playing on other tribes. More about this a little further down.
2. The founder of a tribe will now be considered the leader/owner of that tribe. The owner gets to invite other players either as members of the tribe, or as temporary guests. Only owners and members will have the power to resurrect a tribe.
We don't want an unlimited number of tribes, so there will be a cost of personal points to create a new tribe too.
3. When the change is rolled out we will look at the three adopted tribe slots you have. Those that are tribes you founded, you will be made the leader/owner of, and the others you will be made a tribe member of. Tribes that are not saved by anyone will disappear.
4. The owner can decide that the tribe should be publicly shown, which means that it is shown in the list of public tribes and anyone can join as a temporary guest. Conversely, the tribe can be hidden, so only players will an invitation code can join them.
Member invitations will be time-limited and have one single use. These are suitable for giving to friends in personal messages.
Guest invitations are multiple use and not time-limited. You can terminate them when you want though. These are suitable for posting in groups, on streams, etc...

This means that you can also have "private" tribes either for solo play or to play on only with some selected friends. However, it will not be free to play on these. It will cost points to resurrect an offline tribe, and also to keep a tribe online. The fewer you are, the more each player has to contribute. This is done so that we can accommodate the request for private tribes without ruining ourselves paying rent for unlimited numbers of servers.
More on how these points will be earned in the next part.

Spirit Fragments

5. When contributing to another player's tribe, you will earn spirit fragments. These will be issued when you die and depend on how much experience you achieved in the different skills. Why experience? Because it's a measurement of how much you have achieved for the tribe. It's not a linear relationship though. The more experience in the same skill, the harder it will be to gain more points with that skill. This is reset per calendar day though, so it's fine to concentrate on a smaller number of skills in each life, but if you just do the same actions over and over during several lives, you will earn fewer and fewer points that day.
6. A tribe needs "energy" to stay alive and to be resurrected. Your spirit fragments provide this energy. The player who resurrects the tribe has to pay enough points for the tribe to stay online for a full lifespan. When a player joins a live tribe, that player has to contribute enough for the tribe to stay alive until they die of old age. This can be more or less, depending on how much energy the tribe already has when this player joins. There is also a minimum amount that each player has to pay, even if the tribe has enough energy, because this makes it more fair between players over time.

This means that if you wish to play alone in one of your tribes, you always have to earn enough spirit fragments to resurrect that tribe yourself, since no-one else is sharing the cost with you. These fragments are earned by helping others.

Potted Plants

You can now have potted plants to decorate your house!

Santa!

For a limited amount of time you can find Santa every time your tribe levels up after stone age 3, if you give him a cooked hopper he will give you a little gift.

Small fixes

Bouncing issues of player when moving joystick

Rubber banding when Death-claw attacks player

Skip rolling our cleaned skins in the leather manufacturing process

Gave howlers delay between attacks

The half Evo nuts are made by splitting regular Evo nut , but it should be the dry evo nut that should be used (with the water poured out )

Incorrect calculation of how many objects should go into each row of container

In the tutorial island, time will pass one year per 60 seconds again. Otherwise it's still 1 year per 42 seconds
Howlers are easier to kill on mobile now. They stand in the same place for a little longer, so you can target them before they move again.
It's still challenging, but not impossible any more 🙂

UI Improvements

New tab for tribes by invite:

We changed the look to organizers (work mat and table) in the instructions . example:

If there are alternative choices for tools or ingredients, then they should appear as options on the same line, rather than on separate lines.
In the example, you can use either flint shard or flint knife to cut the forked branch into a short shaft, and you can use either grass rope or leather string to tie the flint blade to the shaft.

The sections for showing the crafting use of an object have been slimmed down to only show the objects you can create (instead of showing the crafting actions with full details). This should give a better overview of what a tool or ingredient can be used for.

Something Sweet

Pale-Zelles and milk

The white skin of this Zezelling will scare other Zezelles away, because it can put them in danger. You can adopt it, it can produce milk and meat for your tribe.

Evo Nut

Evo Nut is a mysterious fruit that when consumed it can change the genetic structure in offspring. And when you use the water in it to water plants it may cause genetic changes to the plant.

Choko

Choko is a fruit that is very delicious, can be used to make treats for humans and some animals.

Predator prevention

if there is a growing river grass that has at least 3 leaves, a player can hide in it from predators. Unless the predator stands in the same tile as the player, it will stop stalking/attacking the player and the player becomes invisible to predators.
Other good use:
1. if you hide in grass and have a spear in hand, you can kill howlers without worrying too much of being attacked by them, provided they are in the shooting range.
2. if a bird nest is next to the grass, you can hide in the grass and steal eggs without being found by the chicken.

You can also use torches to prevent predators from attacking you.

Sprite update

Larger awl
Flint chip
Tomago
Naipon
Eggplant
Eggs and boiled eggs
Bell pepper
Fig
Flint nodule

Other changes

Door frame can be disassembled
vertical walls now have previews that are easier to understand

A Good Haul

Added "drag sled"

You can transport multiple baskets or single animal body.

Improvements to some aspects of the ICB

* We will stop using composited images to show the ingredients on a table or work mat.
The ingredients are too small to recognize, and the image doesn't show the table/work mat, so people have been confused.Instead we will show a generic image of "Table with Ingredients" or "Workmat with Ingredients"

* The required amounts of each ingredient now show larger and more readable (The brown circles with numbers in them)

* We are also separating the "Creation Steps" into two sections instead of one:
1. Ways to Create (shows alternatives for creation, without going into steps)
2. Detailed Creation Steps (this shows the steps, but will only show if there is a single alternative in Ways to Create, so there is no mixing and confusion)

More resources

Per popular request, the amount of resources you get from a tree has been increased, and the amount of resources you need to build houses has been decreased.

Together with the transport possibilities with the new sled, the result should be that you can build significantly faster going forward.

Bugfix

Bugfix for the issue of action buttons not always showing.
Also some smaller fixes and improvements.

Live Fast, Die Old

Faster passage of time

Reaching full age will happen quicker than before. Instead of ageing one year per minute, the characters now age one year every 42 seconds.

Heavy Metal!

The processes for turning ore into metals, and melting metals for casting have improved, and several new objects added, like metal bars, ingots, scrap metal...

Have a nice Break

When a bronze tool breaks, it will now turn a broken version of the same object. You can then hack it into pieces of scrap bronze, and melt them into a new bar of bronze.

Multiple GUI improvements

1. The settings have been merged into the same window as the encyklopedia and missions.
2. Information about the game controls has been ordered into an index and improved with images.
3. Several smaller improvements sprinkled about.

Beta' Friends

We are also launching an open Beta of In Next Life for iOS. It's free to try out during the beta period, but the number of downloads are limited. Tell your friends!

Game Update: Breaking the Mold

What's new:

User experience improvements:
- Use mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out smoothly (the near/medium/far setting is removed)
- New visual effect for highlighting the selected object. A white outline instead of stripes across the object.

- You will be notified every time you increase any skill level
- You will now see the "fail frustration" speech bubbles of other players too, making it easier to see if they are working on something or just standing there.
- Picking up more objects when your hands are already full works differently now: instead of dropping the item in your front hand, you now drop the item in your back hand, and the item that was in the front hand is moved to the back hand.
- Eating soup and stew now also shows the eating animation and plays the eating sound.

Content changes:
- New and improved process for creating and using the clay molds for bronze casting. Some steps were removed, and some steps and new objects were added, to improve the experience and make mold making more interesting.

- Removed a step in the creation of flint shards and flint blades. Now they are produced directly from flint nodules without the intermediate step of half nodules.
- Changed so leaf bowls are made from a single leaf instead of two, and also so you cut one leaf at a time from the ferns. New players had too many difficulties before they got it right, so we hope this change will make it easier for them to get further into the game.
- added option to remove a dirt floor.

Fixed bugs:
- Fixed visual bug for a full clay pot with fruit salad or other food.
- Fixed bug that a shovel could dig infinite numbers of stone paths

Update: tutorial

Now we have a tutorial instead of beginner islands
(plus some other small improvements)

Tribe System Update

In this update we made some big game changing changes. Instead of the play being island based it is now tribe based. You start a new tribe and try to not die out while reaching the technology goals together. If your tribe dies out you can still resurrect it as long as there are any resurrection points left.

Beginner tribes work similarly like islands did before: they are not connected to any individual players and once one is started it stays online until it has been finished (meaning end of stone age in this case), no matter how long it takes. New beginner tribes will start automatically, so there will always be one to play on.

Standard tribes will be started and named by you players. They will go online when players are active on them, and will go offline when no-one is playing on them. When a player activates a tribe it will become visible for other players to join also. The tribes can be resurrected from offline (dead) status several times, but not infinitely. Each player can only resurrect a limited number of tribes.

You will have three slots for your favorite tribes. It can be both tribes you have started yourself and tribes that you have joined after someone else started them. Creating or adopting a tribe as yours, grants you the power to resurrect it from offline (dead) state.

Skills will be mapped differently on different difficulty levels, and experience gain will be slower on lower difficulty and faster on higher difficulty.

Hunger rate, animal behaviors, and wound seriousness will also change with the difficulty levels. On higher difficulty you won't be able to stand around inactively for as long before you start starving, animals get stronger and less afraid of fire, etc...

In this update we also added wooden chests and tables :

And you can mine copper and tin lodes:
