Ironbound launches on January 4th!

Hi guys,

We finally have a release date for Ironbound: January 4th, 2018. The beta test will end on this date and we will launch the game simultaneously on Steam, iOS, Android and Amazon.

When the game goes live, we will reset everyone's match history, multiplayer rating and rank. Players with rating 1000 or above will be reset to 1000 (and rank "Hunter"), those below will have rating 100. Perks will also be reduced to at most level 2. We are working on a system of seasons, so this will be the start of the first multiplayer season.

Your inventory, gold, character levels, practice mission progress and purchases will not be affected.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the beta for your help and support, and we're excited about taking this step and growing Ironbound further.

Game changes and fixes:



  • Fixed: Foe Hammer didn't work when the player started the game in the class special state.
  • Fixed: the effect description for Dragon Soul always said "Enraged", instead of the state name appropriate for the player class.
  • Fixed: if an Android purchase failed, the "Waiting for AppStore" box never closed.
  • Fixed: if the turn time warning sound started playing for the opponent in a multiplayer game, it didn't stop when the turn ended automatically.


Balance changes:



  • Increased reward for defeating the Expert practice challenges to 1000 gold (from 600).
  • Diamond Armor: limit damage to 1-5 (from 1-6).
  • Thor's Hammer: cost reduced to 6 AP.
  • Corrosive Poison: 5-7 damage, up from 3-7.
  • Ambush: +6 damage when not stealth, down from +10.
  • Backstab: 3-7 bonus damage, down from 5-10.
  • Berserker Cleaver and Sorcerer Staff: chance to trigger increased to 50% (from 30%).

Balance changes:



  • Parry activates if the weapon is ready at the end of the turn, even if it was used. It also applies multiple times per turn again.
  • Backstab: 5-10 damage up from 3-7.
  • Ambush: +10 damage when not Stealth, up from +4.
  • Reinforce: cost 3 AP up from 2 AP.
  • Thor's Hammer: 5-10 damage, down from 5-15.
  • Seal of Reckoning: 5% crit per AP, down from 10%
  • Arena Shiv of Mastery: gain 1 damage when Mastery triggers, down from 2.
  • Steel Hilt: +2 start AP.
  • Kurgan Blade: +4 damage, up from +3.
  • Magic Barrier: cost 2 AP down from 3 AP and +1 start AP.
  • Morgana's Veil: effect no longer stacks with itself.
  • Muzrub: 35% critical chance, up from 30%.
  • Scepter of Toth: lowered condition from 25 damage to 20 damage.
  • Golden Kopesh: lowered condition from 30 damage to 25 damage.
  • Vampiric Shard and Lesser Vampiric Shard: effect applies to next attack, instead of for the entire turn.
  • Blood Moon: 20% critical chance, down from 25%.
  • Wall of Montu: 2 damage over 2 turns, down from 3 damage over 3 turns.


New items:



  • Kurgan Decapitator (2H axe, Berserker only): This weapon has +4 damage if you have less HP than your enemy, and -5 damage when you have more.
  • Stalker Great Axe (2H axe, Berserker only): For each turn you don't use this weapon, it gains 3 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker War Baton (2H staff, Witch only): For each turn you don't use this weapon, it gains 3 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker Longsword (1H sword): For each turn you don't use this weapon, it gains 2 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker Hacker (off-hand axe, Berserker only): For each turn you don't use this item, your main weapon gains 2 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker Shiv (off-hand dagger, Assassin only): For each turn you don't use this item, your main weapon gains 2 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker Orb (orb, Witch only): For each turn you don't use this item, your main weapon gains 2 damage for the next attack.
  • Stalker Shield (shield): For each turn you don't use this item, your main weapon gains 2 damage for the next attack.
  • Berserker Cleaver (2H Axe, Berserker only): Each time you critical hit, you have a 30% chance to gain Enrage until your next turn.
  • Sorcerer Staff (staff): Each time you critical hit, you have a 30% chance to gain Focused Mind until your next turn.
  • Crusader Smasher (1H hammer, Crusader only): Each time you critical hit, you have a 30% chance to gain Last Stand until your next turn.
  • Sorcerer Dagger (dagger, Witch only): Each time you critical hit, you have a 30% chance to gain Focused Mind until your next turn.
  • Foe Hammer (1H sword, Crusader, Assassin, Witch): While you are in your class special state, you have +5 magic damage.
  • Stinger (1H sword): While you are in your class special state, your attacks cannot be blocked, evaded or parried.
  • Last Stand Fortress (tower shield): Each time you block the entire damage, you have a 50% chance to reflect damage equal to your defense.
  • Sorcerer Orb (orb): Each time you critical hit with this weapon, you have a 30% chance to gain Focused Mind until your next turn.

Patch 1.2.5



Game changes and fixes:



  • The info boxes in the main menu stay on screen until the close button is pressed, instead of disappearing when the info button is released.
  • The matchmaker no longer allows matches between accounts which have recently played together, to prevent win trading.
  • Fixed: if connecting to the matchmaker took longer than a second, the matchmaking compass animation was too fast.
  • Fixed: Arena Amulet of Cruelty applied an empty buff when playing actions which cost 0 AP.
  • Fixed: wrong description for Ishtar's Embrace.
  • Fixed: Remorseful Hacker didn't work.


Balance changes:



  • Two-handed weapons can parry at most once per turn.
  • Lowered HP and perk levels for some bots under rating 2000.
  • Arena Great Axe of Mastery: +20% crit chance when Enraged, instead of costing 1 AP.
  • Arena Dirk of Mastery: gain 1 damage when remaining Stealth, down from 2.
  • Arena Vial of Mastery: +5% passive evade bonus, down from +10%.

  • Account creation is allowed before finishing the tutorial.
  • Fixed: when the second player was using Ghastly Axe, a bogus parry icon appeared for that player and never went away.

  • Fixed: Android: some buttons and other UI elements didn't respond to touches on some devices.


Balance changes:



  • Last Stand: reflect damage equal to defense, instead of the entire incoming damage.
  • Crusader Mastery: add defense to heal value, instead of doubling.
  • Increased trigger chances for Mastery and Resilience from 20% at level 1 - 40% at level 5 to 30%-50%.
  • Changed daily quest from win 2 games with over 100 HP remaining to at least 100 HP.
  • Banshee Rod: +1 start AP.
  • Fenrir Fang: the gained token also costs -1 AP.
  • Arena Dirk of Resilience: +3 damage when not used, up from +2.
  • Arena Shiv of Cruelty: also gain 3 damage for the next attack on critical hits.
  • Arena Tower of Mastery: new effect: each time your Mastery perk triggers, gain 5 defense until your next turn.
  • Arena Seal of Mastery: heal for the entire damage dealt, instead of 50%.
  • Arena Amulet of Mastery: 50% chance to trigger, up from 20%.
  • Arena Dagger of Cruelty: +5 magic damage up from +3 and restore 3 AP on crit, up from 1.

Game fixes and changes:



  • Faster loading times and lower RAM usage.
  • Fixed: bot Cerise was using Steel Sword.
  • Fixed: Holy Shell healed instantly when a critical hit was received, instead of waiting for the owner's turn.


Balance changes:



  • If the turn limit is exceeded, the player with most HP wins (instead of the game always being a draw).
  • The matchmaker prevents Arena match-ups between two Crusaders, and between identical class/set combinations.
  • Lionheart: added passive +1 weapon damage bonus.
  • Lightbringer: +2 damage, +1 critical value, +5% critical chance.
  • Morgana's Veil: lower action cost by 2, up from 1.
  • Colossus Grip: 5 charges down from 10.
  • Cursed Stiletto: 50% chance to trigger, up from 30%.

Game changes and fixes:



  • Tokens revert to their zoomed state when dragged near the bottom of the screen.
  • Fixed: missing passive effect description for Banshee Shiv.


Balance changes:



  • Reduced the requirements for Cruelty levels 4 and 5 to 150 and 200 wins, respectively (from 200 and 300). If you're already above the new threshold(s), you need to win once to update your perk level.
  • The second player starts in parry if a two-handed weapon is equipped.
  • Actions which draw tokens (such as Preparation or Hand of Fate) no longer destroy tokens if the hand is full.
  • Blood Pact: new effect: next 3 tokens cost HP instead of AP (instead of costing double, and applying to all actions this turn).
  • Immolate: changed damage type to magic (so it benefits from magic damage buffs, but can be mitigated).
  • The Witch can no longer use 2H swords, except for Bright Saber and Scythe of Anubis.
  • Star Shard" +3 magic damage down from +5.
  • Potent Lucky Stone +2 magic damage down from +3.
  • Lucky Stone: +1 magic damage down from +2.
  • Friar Staff: +30% critical hit chance up from +20% and 9 damage up from 8.
  • Monk Cane: 10 damage up from 9.
  • Added passive +1 to damage over time to the following items: Heartstone, Pazuzu's Eye
  • Added passive +1 to magic damage to the following items: Ring of Binding, Signet of Binding, Pazuzu’s Eye, Focused Mind Crystal, Archmage Signet, Arcane Storm Crystal, Heartstone, Red Witch Charm and most orbs.
  • Focused Mind Crystal and Red Witch Charm: +1 AP cap, down from +2.
  • Ishtar's Embrace: 30% chance to trigger, up from 20%.
  • Colossus Grip: changed from passive to active trinket with 10 charges and no longer uses 2 trinket slots. Removed passive bonuses.
  • Korgoth the Swift: 9 damage down from 10.


New items:



  • Animist Spell Blade (main hand dagger, Witch only): Each time you play a token, gain 2 magic damage for the current turn.
  • Blade of Norns (main hand dagger, Witch only): Each time you critical hit, gain 2 magic damage for the current turn.
  • Dancing Flame (main-hand dagger, Witch only): Each time you play a Fire Chant token, add the value to magic damage this turn.
  • Heart of the Storm (orb): Each time you deal damage with this weapon, you have a 20% chance to get a Magic Missiles token.
  • Eye of the Storm (orb): Each time you deal damage with this weapon, you have a 20% chance to get a Freezing Blast token.
  • Crystal Skull (trinket, Witch only): Gain weapon damage equal to your current magic damage bonus until your next attack.
