Now let's get to the development process and one other, very important thing, which we’ll inform you about at the end of this diary, so be sure to read it to the end!
Time to make a camp
We work hard on events every day. Our beloved artists are laboring away to please you with new art. At the moment, several events are in the process of being made. The bandits’ camp is finally ready to be shown. These bandits seem extremely serious. It's best not to joke with them. Do you think they’ll let you relax by the campfire, or will you have to clash with them in a life-and-death battle for a place to rest?

Unexpected meeting
And these two, what are they up to here? This dwarf seems to look worried. Has the elf been threatening him? Or maybe we're in for the craziest team-up since The Lord of the Rings? ⠀⠀⠀
Zombies all around, even in the swamps!
Yeah, it's not the best time to chill in the bog – one of the training zombies is going through the gifted hands of our artists. He’s preening himself and ready to meet everyone who passes by his quagmire.But you can always fight him and get something nice for beating him.
This guy is swinging his mace way too skillfully. Apparently, these are his residual reflexes after zombification. So if you don't want to burn, be careful. As soon as he blooms in the skillful hands of our artists, there will be no escape from him!
Mosquitoes and other animations
Since we’re stuck in the bog again, it's time to get acquainted with the local fauna again. We showed you our beautiful Mite Queen recently, and now, finally, her animations are finished! Our animators have made her incredibly lively and strangely attractive. Be careful, don’t join the cultists! ⠀⠀⠀
But even without her, the bog is full of parasites – these phenomenally huge mosquitoes have just flown out of the magical animation room and are ready to drink some players' blood! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the past we showed you how we develop new characters. One of them is the elf in the picture below. He has finally gotten an axe, some stylish movements and some green goo dripping from his mouth… It seems to be time for us to run or fight for our lives! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New cards and icons
Every little thing is important in game development: each icon and each status gets its visual display in the game. And the making of them goes on non-stop.
Vanadis keeps getting new cards. Here is some of the art that we’ve made this week: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yeah, this lady is deginitely not to be trifled with – there are too many animals ready to protect her.

AN UPDATE AWAITS YOU NEXT WEEK!
That's right – we’re finally ready to add all the updates from the open beta version to the main version of the game. Although our work isn’t finished yet you’ll still have something to be surprised by in the new version! So be patient, very soon you’ll have the opportunity to play the updated KOTCL and try out the mechanics, as well as admire new events and the card generation system!

KOTCL Developer diaries: summoned demons, allies, and a few other things!
Knock, knock, travelers!
We’re happy to welcome you to this, the latest edition of our developer diaries. Today we’ll treat you to animations of a formidable, but lovable demon and also show you how work on events is going.
Charming orcs
We continue traveling the steppes as well as perfecting current events. This time, we’ve called on these sweet guys.
They look very amiable, but try not to hurt their feelings. One of the goblins has already run into these smiling guys, and you’ll have to do something about it. The event is still in the works, but here are some frames to look at:

Demon summoning
Our animators have started adding embellishments to one of the enemies – this demon is fully willing to bite off your hand if you try to pet him! The attack animations worked out gloriously.
It just so happens that one of his strongest weapon might just be tickling you so beware of his allies!

New allies will lend you a helping hand!
Our artists have started preparing allies for the animation process. These girls are drawn well, and they fight even better. Here’s to hoping that they’re on our side.
As usual, the hardest thing to do is to come to an agreement with men, so this man here definitely won’t participate in your adventures. You’ll have to convince him to let you pass.

Peace pipe and cursed sword
The event with the shaman has been updated. Smoking the peace pipe will be much more pleasant from now on. Don’t turn down his invitation!
The event with the cursed sword is being updated too. It's no longer so scary to go up to this guy and accept his intriguing gift, is it?
Finally, we can't help but show you where we’re at with the final animations. The frames are already being drawn and passed on to the animators. This is a small piece of Vanadis’ ending that our artists are working on. What do you think awaits her here?

Work on the events continues
Not so long ago we showed you where we were at working on this sorcerer. He’s almost finished now; the artists are putting in the final touches. Do you think it's worth turning to this gentleman for help? What, you think giving a limb for breaking a curse is too much?
Very soon you’ll be able to have a look at the goblins’ town in the game. Those guys have worked hard and arranged their area with simple elegance. We’re not so sure that all the neighbors are friendly, but it's still worth stopping here for a while – you might restore some health or learn some secret goblin knowledge. Who knows?
Goblins and their pets
Our artists are working hard on new game events. The list of the characters that can be met in the steppes is growing by leaps and bounds – just look at these guys! Do you think they are friendly to travelers? Or will they set their sweet pet worms to bite your feet?

Working on characters
We had to convene a real council to decide who would meet the hero at the gate.
After carefully discussing everything, we decided that we simply couldn’t live without a plump, smiling guard who was ready to let you pass and go anywhere you want. That's what we've got so far:

We continue to animate
This week, our animators have been busy with the Mite Queen – she’s doubly dangerous now with her new attack animation. As befits royalty, even the way she stands is extremely elegant, but make no mistake – her piercing blow can be fatal to any traveler! Bow down to the Mite Queen!

Cards and icons are all we need
It's been a while since we showed you the latest Vanadis card art! It seems that she and her allies are truly formidable enemies for many monsters. You should be especially wary of the honey badger – it’s not fully clear what the liquid dripping from its mouth is.

We continue to update the icons so that all the effects can be seen clearly. After all, you don’t want to miss an important effect and muck up your run, do you?

New landscapes
Our artists have started to create a new location – it’s very mysterious, but undoubtedly beautiful. It's a strange place – some magic mushrooms light up the road here. Is walking along these local trails worth it, or is it better to stay away from whatever lurks in this mysterious flickering light?

Continuing to do what we do best – making animations
The alchemist is already hard at work polishing his vials – he can't wait to try them on every passing traveler. He might be a real cowboy at heart, so beware of the fastest hand in Midian!
The Ritualist has also learned some stylish and intimidating moves. You should be especially careful with him. Who knows where he can drag you off to with these tentacles of his?
Don't talk to strangers
You can meet anyone or anything on the road – from orcs and elves to evil swamp creatures, so sometimes it feels good to see a human face. But is it worth trusting this guy? There’s something bizarre in his eyes, and he asks you to swear an oath of allegiance… Who is this man? We'll find out in a new event!

KOTCL Developer Diaries: demons, orcs and cultists
Knock, knock, adventurers! So, are you ready for a new diary log where we’ll tell you about the game development process and show you gorgeous visuals? Then you’ve come to the right place!
We've been writing our diaries for quite some time. If you’ve started reading our reports recently, you might have missed a lot! Before we start talking about something new, we’d like to recall the events that we’ve already shown you in past diaries.
Redraws
So let’s go! Our artists continue improving already finished art in their free time. For example, here you can see what the process of redrawing one of the orcs from the Steppes looks like.
And how do you like this special enemy named Grum?
Progress
In the last diaries, we showed you the “Goblin Town” event, in which you’ll visit an unusual location. Building a town is not an easy task, so work on this event continues, but we can show you a drawing of a goblin at least!
New cards
For the third time in a row, we’re showing you new cards that will later be added to KOTCL. Lots of red here!
Animations
Animators continue to teach our Ritualist new spells and movements. Here we present you several new animations.
We’ve also created many new movements for the orc shaman.
And the final enemy for today is a dangerous demon, the Keeper of Illusions, whom you can meet in the Northern Gate.
But we’re not only working on enemy animations, we’re also hard at work at making Vanadis’s cut-scenes. We’ve already shown screenshots of those scenes, but today we want to show them animated. Are you ready to play?
