Patch 10: Difficulty modes and new region.

Hey!!

We have a new patch.
The biggest changes: New available region. The desert. Also now you can choose difficulty at the beginning of the game.

Content



  • Added new type of region with new enemies. Desert. You can find that at the beginning of the 3rd chapter. All enemies in this region have heavy armour, so bring lightning and 2H swords.
  • New weapon for the thief. Backstab dagger. Bonus damage when striking from behind.
  • Archer ability upgrade added: Fire arrow
  • Mage ability upgrades added: Storm, lightning and Effret
  • Cleric passive abilities added.
  • Archer passive abilities added.
  • Thief passive abilities added.


Functionality



  • Added an option to choose difficulty. Medium will be slightly easier than the regular game before, hard will be slightly harder. We will keep tuning both modes to adjust difficulty.
  • Now you can click on the name on the region to travel. Not only on the names at the bottom.


Balance



  • Ydur's sigil now cost 1 blessing to cast.
  • Various armours that were only usable by one character now can be used by multiple heroes.
  • Multiple magic items have been moved to a different tier.
  • After someone recovers from an stun, he will be stun immune for a short time, avoiding perma-stunning easily.


Bugs



  • Corrected empty menu when you have 3 or 4 heroes and run out of food.
  • Wrong Karma charms were displayed. -1 and +4 were swapped.
  • Activating some abilities could cause random movement by the heroes.
  • You could start the tutorial with both the mage and warrior.
  • The troll was not attacking.


Minor Details



  • After a combat now you get info about how much XP you are getting.
  • Tooltips are not displayed when a fullscreen menu is open.
  • Added correct name to Ydur's sigil ability, and tooltip explaining the ability.
  • Armour I ability didn't have a tooltip.
  • Corrected one option that could open the old portal travel menu, much less forgiving than the new one.


Visual improvements



  • New background for the abilities menu.
  • Added level up notifications.
  • Some regions on the world map have been reworked.
  • Hands in the graveyard now appear faster.
  • Load menus now have a single message.
  • Added new image at the beginning of chapter one, and removed two images.

Patch 9: Fairness improvement

Hi everyone!!
We have a new patch. This time we have focused in changing some unfairness in the game. We will keep thinking about making the game fair. This is just a first step.

Content



  • We have added passive abilities to the warrior and mage. You can have more HP, damage, movement speed, armour, mana... You can find this new abilities in the stone circles.
  • New item. Potion of life. An improved potion of health.
  • New Item. Health belt. Increases you max HP.
  • Berserker ability has been reworked. Damage boost for a while and defensive penalties, and after that, bigger defensive penalties. Use it to finish off your enemies!!
  • We added an introduction to the first level.


Functionality



  • When a menuitem takes you to a Karma roll, now you have a tooltip that shows the amount of charms of each type that you have.
  • Now you have separate savefiles for each profile.
  • Buying in shops has been improved. Now you buy with one click.


Balance



  • Food penalty can't reduce your party size to 1. Heroes will only leave the group if you have 3 or more.
  • Portal penalty can't reduce your party size to 1. Heroes will only disappear if you have 3 or more.
  • Portal penalty damage can't kill heroes. If they should die, their HP are reduced to 1 instead.
  • Now inns have a little more food.
  • Potion of health now heals a percentage of your max HP.
  • Now spectre is not totally immune to physical attacks an he removes dodge when he attacks.
  • Sleeping in the wilderness now takes the same time as sleeping at the Inn.
  • Some abilities don't affect large enemies or bosses (Net, iron trap, charm). In some cases the upgrade will affect large enemies and/or bosses
  • Red cleric now has an starting "free" ability (summon water elemental)


Bugs



  • After restoring a game all buildings could appear on the top left of the map. This is fixed.
  • Some options in the goblin outpost should only be available if you have good standing with the goblins.


Minor Details



  • If you activate a shield while you move, now you keep moving.
  • The Avatar that you can summon now has a hud indicating life and armour, and the ability has a tooltip.


Visual improvements



  • Item charges are displayed on the tooltip.
  • Accept button on the unlock menu has been changed.
  • Added a frame to show the broken cage if you break it.
  • Added an image for the necromancer library. It was missing.
  • Added visual effect to battle cry.
  • Armour type name changed for image in the character sheet.
  • We have new load screens.

Patch 8: Tiny patch

Hi everyone!!

We said that we were making patches every 2 weeks, but this week we will make a very small one. Just 2 changes. Next week we will have the good one :)


  • Corrected a bug with the savegames that could cause going to a previously visited region after continuing game
  • We added a new feature. Now you can report a crash or an issue from within the game

Video hotfix

Hi,

We've noticed that the video that we added on the last patch is not loading properly in some computers, so we are removing it for now.

Patch 7: Big patch is here!!



A new patch is here and this time there are quite a few improvements:


Content



  • A video showing an introduction to the story of Tascaria will be shown when you start a game.
  • We have changed the scroll that gave you a short introduction in the tutorial for a set of images that tell you why you are there.
  • The first combat in the tutorial has been reworked. We think it's more interesting now.
  • We have a new map of the world. Procedurally generated, the regions are named and it looks much better now.
  • A first version of abilities upgrades and level up is in place. For now only a few abilties can be upgraded.
  • We have added a video in the fountain in the tutorial. It shows the future of Tascaria.


Abilities



  • Pyroblast now can be upgraded to delayed pyroblast. It will add a burning effect and create a secondary explosion 6 seconds after the first one.
  • Magic missile can be upgraded to breaking missile with more damage and shield removal effect. Enemies with shield will be stunned.
  • Taunt can be upgraded to battle cry. It will lower the leadership of nearby enemies.
  • Defend can be upgraded to battle stance. It will add dodge and a lot of dodge regeneration.
  • New ability for the archer. Iron trap. Created a trap that will stop small enemies.
  • Iron trap can be upgraded to Steel trap. Affects big enemies, lasts longer and removes 2 dodge points.
  • New warrior ability. Stomp. Damages and stuns enemies in an area based in your armour (the more armour you have the more damage).
  • Stomp can be upgraded to Great stomp. Longer stun, more damage an bigger area.
  • We have removed some abilities that we were not happy with. We will probably rework them or keep them removed.




Functionality



  • We added a confirmation when you report an error.


Balance



  • Now all heroes have some starting dodge regeneration (1 point for the clerics and mages and 2 points for archer, thief and warrior).
  • The red cleric now starts with the Summon Water elemental skill.
  • We have lowered the kobold mage dodge


Bugs



  • Game could get stuck loading the fight in the graveyard in the swamp.
  • Ice plates in the frozen mountain were generated on the top left instead of on random spots.
  • The extra point you get with Battle stance was not being removed when the combat ended.
  • Leadership was checked only when someone died. Now it's checked also if an attack changes the enemy morale.


Minor Details



  • Now you get tired earlier in the tutorial, so it's easier to notice that you are tired and you will be healed before the last combat, making the tutorial easier.
  • Now the early access message in the beginning will be closed when you press a key instead of after X seconds (probably not enough time by the way).
  • Added some missing menus tittles.
  • The version number is visible now on the first screen. (Early access 1.2.0.0).
  • Now you start the tutorial with a 2H word and a long sword.
  • We added a dialog between the mage and warrior when you reach the first portal.


Visual improvements



  • The world map has been reworked.
  • We have removed the people outside the castle that we say "Looks deserted". Before it "Looked deserted" but you could see people on the image...

Big Patch coming tomorrow

Hey everyone!

Tomorrow we will deploy a big patch.

A lot of relevant changes will be coming in this patch. New world map, first version of ability upgrades, an introduction to the story, improvements to the tutorial...

Tomorrow we will post all the details.

No patch this week and patch dates update

This week we are not doing a patch. Just a hotfix. We are focusing on the next patch, that will add quite a lot of things.

From now on, updates will be done once every two weeks instead of every week.
We think it's the right approach as it will make each patch more relevant and interesting, and we'll use less time in the patch creation/test/deployment.

Hotfix for integrated graphics cards

We have done a hotfix to solve a problem that some graphics card were having after playing for a while.

This should solve a crash happening sometimes in a seemingly random way.

Patch 6: Klaatu barada nikto



We have a new patch. This week one day early than other weeks. Next week it will be friday again.
We have a new relic and the Book of the Dead has a new use.

Content



  • We have added a new encounter in the graveyard
  • The Book of the Dead has a new use. Go to a graveyard while you have it!!
  • We have added a new Relic. The Axe of Doom.
  • The old Church has been reworked. Now it's a shop where you can buy maps.


Bugs



  • The projectiles bounced back to you from an enemy with improved shield couldn't harm you. Now they properly damage you.


Minor Details



  • We have added the stacktrace in case the game crashes and you report it to us.


Visual improvements



  • We have added a library to the necromancer encounter.

Patch 5: Error reporting



We have a new patch ready!! And soon we will have a patch with big changes (in 2-3 weeks)

Functionality



  • Now if the game crashes you will get a window to report the error and add a comment. Of course you are welcome to leave a message in the forums.


Content



  • We have a new encounter in the forest. A sacred deer is hurt and can use your help.


Bugs



  • Wind horn was not equippable.
  • Saving during the tutorial could cause skipping the Karma information
  • XP was not properly saved (not a problem for the moment as it is not used yet but will be used soon)
  • Getting the focus ability can't kill you anymore (not exactly a bug, more something annoying)


Balance



  • Amount of food in taverns has been reduced. Previously was too easy to have more than enough food.
  • Getting the focus ability now reduces 500 instead of 700 HP
  • Removed two clerics from the Golem plus clerics combat. It was unfair.


Minor Details



  • Starting quest renamed and improved description.
  • Added area attacks to Golem


Visual improvements



  • Improved image of good and bad charms. Now is clearer what you are getting in each case.
  • Added the name of your destination in the world map.
