Developer Notes
Quick update to fix the Druin Hills area. Added a few other bug fixes in this update as well.
Also, sped up the casting routines for both, melee and spell abilities. Hope this feels a little better for everyone.
Bumped up the endurance amount when resting in combat.

  • Fixed - Herbalism has had its levels reduced from 50 to 20. Didn't realize that one was missed
  • Fixed - Chests in Elderwood Forest should no longer be empty after looting just one chest
  • Fixed - Druinhills is working properly again.
  • Fixed - Footstep sounds are functioning again. Not sure how they broke in the first place.
  • Fixed - Alligator battle AI has been corrected. They should be all bitey again.



  • Informational - Sped up the casting animations and the melee attack animations. Let me know if this feels better
  • Informational - Bumped up the amount of endurance REST generates from 10% to 20% of max
  • Informational - Lowered the chances of rain in Nerah's Landing.

Developer Notes
I have added entries for expert and master trainer location. Not all lower level trainers will have the information, however.
Between these entries and the regional maps, you should be able to find trainers fairly easily.
Resting during combat vs. resting via waiting for an hour has been tweaked. Waiting for an hour outside of combat restores endurance to
max. Combat resting will restore 10% of your endurance max score. Trainers now properly check to see if you can learn the skill in question,
whether or not you have already learned the skill in question, and if your skill level is high enough for the next rank (when training expert
and master levels). An appropriate message is displayed if you fail to meet these requirements.

Next update, I will make sure potions and spells that restore endurance
are on par with these changes. Also, I will be working on the melee ability damage formulas

Developer Notes
This update is the start of skill tweaking.

I have begun to tweak formulas to bring things in line for a better play experience instead of the blazing fast (which is great for testing) speeds.
The amount of skill points earned, overall, has been adjusted down - you need to plan how you spend those skill points.

I've added a new item to the game - skill rune - which grants the user 2 skill points - much like the Horeshoe from Might and Magic. Look for purple gems in the world.

XP gains have been adjusted. You shouldn't notice too much in the early levels; higher levels, you should notice a slower leveling pace.

I've decreased the human learning bonus from 20% xp bonus to 10% xp bonus. This will affect saved game parties.

All skills for each rank has at least one trainer in game. Most have 2 or 3. For the few that have one, I will be adding another trainer in the world; updating the regional maps will come after I'm done.
Added a few new trainers this patch. I will be sure each skill rank has at least 2 trainers in game.

Also, I've gone through all of the melee trainers and made sure they were training appropriate skill, checking for class, skill level,
and whether or not the character already knows the skill. A message will be displayed if one of these checks fails. I'll be doing the same for each skill.
Next update, should have armor and magic skills completed.

Developer Notes
Staff, Polearms, Bows, Unarmed and Axes ability manuals now use the spell tome dialog system. With this update, Steam Cloud saves have been activated!
Now, you can continue your game from your desktop, laptop or Steam Deck. Increased the max Hit Points, Mana Points, and Endurance allowed.
In the next update, I'm looking to have a COMPLETE journal entry for all quests. This will remove completed quests from active ones. There are a few already setup like this.
I just need to go through and do it for the quests that were created early on. Also, I'll be re-working the amount of XP it takes to level. The current setup, once you start taking down higher mob groups, you level
to fast. It's great for testing; but, time to bring it down to where it should be. Finally, I will be adding the missing weapon damage to melee abilities that is supposed to include weapon damage. I missed that
when I created the formulas. Once that is done, I'll be able to tweak spell and melee abilities to have some parity - personally, I was never one for "it must be balanced!"; but, I want an all warrior party to be
a viable build. So, that requires tweaking where needed.

Another quick update. Added some tweaks to the player controller settings in hopes of eliminating the jittery movement that comes up sometimes. I mostly experience it after loading certain saved games that I have.
Mace and dagger ability manuals now use the spell tome dialog system.

Developer Notes
Sword ability manuals now use the spell tome dialog system when using them. Now for the best part of this update:
I've added a "free mouselook" button - the Period key. Pressing this key will put you in free mouselook mode which means you no longer need to press and hold the right mouse button to look around.
You can press the key again to bring back the mouse cursor. However, this new feature allows for partial controller (gamepad) support as well. This was something I always wanted to add. With my Steam Deck arrival,
I moved it up the list to provide better gameplay support on the Steam Deck. So far, my time on the Steam Deck with Legendary has been a pleasant one.
I use an Xbox 360 controller - it's all I have. So, my mapping is based on that. You cannot re-bind the controller mapping; I'm sorry to say. However, there is a way to provide input mapping within steam and when playing on the steam deck.

Within the Options menu under Controls, I've added a new selection: Control Type. Gamepad will put your control into mouselook mode which also works with the gamepad.
You can press the Period key to return to regular keyboard and mouse control.
Free Mouselook (keyboard and mouse control only) - Period key
in game menu which represents most of the menu options from the window selector bar. I need to add Time and Camp options.

  • Accept - Keyboard: Enter, Gamepad: A (NOTE: I had to go into Steam settings for the game and set the input by changing the name of the input key to Accept from Jump for the Enter key and A button on my gamepad)

  • Jump - Keyboard: Space, Gamepad: Y
  • Examine - Keybaord: Hold F, Gamepad: Hold the Left Shoulder Button
  • Pause - Keyboard: F4, Gamepad: Select
  • Previous Character - Keybaord: Left Bracket, Gamepad: Left Shoulder Button
  • Next Character - Keyboard: Right Bracket, Gamepad: Right Shoulder Button
  • Move Forward/Backword - Keyboard: W/S, Gamepad: Left Joystick - forward/backward
  • Strafe Left/Right - Keyboard: A/D, Gamepad: Left Joystick - left/right
  • Camera - Mouse, Gamepad: Right Joystick

Navigate menus with Left Joystick. Some menus, like the inventory and equipment "menus", do not work with the gamepad just yet. You will need to exit freelook mode and use the mouse.

Steam Deck controls: With this update, the Left joystick should move and strafe; the Right joystick should control the camera. You can use the right track pad to control the camera as well.
I'll post my setup once I get everything running. I am going to try the Gamepad control option to see how it operates with this update.

Please keep in mind, this is initial attempts at providing controller support. There are still some wonkiness to the interface. But, please, let me know of any weirdness you experience if you use the controller or on the steam deck.

Developer Notes
Another small updated. The Dungeon Master system is being introduced in this update. You can speak with the Dungeon Master by pressing F11 on your keyboard or the whirlwind icon in the menu selection window (next to the gear icon).
Dungeon Master is there to give you some hints on the main quest, describe where you are in the world, answer some questions. Think of him as in-game help. I have added a few options as a test. If you like the idea, I'll continue to
flesh it out. If not, I'll remove it and forget about it. I will keep the main quest hints, though.
For the main quest help option, this will work with saved games if you have NOT turned in the bloody note to start the main quest.

Arcane tomes have been added to the new dialog system for tomes.
