LK v4.08: Enemy AI; lots of art, sound effects; GUI, gameplay fixes

Gameplay:

  • Enemy AI added
  • Enemy Burst melee equipment returned to only facing current direction, made wider and shorter, fixed collision box being too big
  • Argent's wall ability fixed not being recoverable, UI now changes transparency, fixed showing itself undeployed when deployed
  • Hackable objects now have a cooldown if there are multiple player units
  • Missiles fixed creating explosions on every missile when one is destroyed
  • Expansion Ability 1 sounds finished

GUI:

  • Turn Log added
  • GUI top right menu buttons rearranged
  • GUI buttons for ExpAb fixed using wrong frames
  • Player ability default shade set to teal
  • Enemy equipment fixed only showing missiles
  • Hacking GUI fixed drawing once per player unit, accidentally made hacking change colour but it seems good
  • GUI enemy box abilities added background, weapons sprites improved, added background, moved weapon and ability boxes to line up

Art:

  • Ruins stage added destroyed and background buildings
  • Enemy equipment now have sprites, but only while they have ammo
  • Mines now show their models before exploding
  • Wraith fixed not using active stealth attack animations
  • Saviour Burst Shield added animation

Story:

  • Enemy abilities added to each campaign
  • Player abilities fixed applying twice
  • Reaper Infiltration mission removed shaft object, added airlock runways, fixed transports not having correct image indexes

LK v4.06: Expansion Content Available for Limited Time

Temporarily removed DLC requirements for players to try out new abilities and story.
This version seems to be pretty stable, so it's a good time to try out the game and offer feedback.

Gameplay:

  • Enemy "equipment" abilities added
  • Expansion abilities fixed, sounds added
  • Kunai fixed crashing the game
  • White One expansion abilities now applies a speed debuff
  • Explosions fixed dealing damage after they had ended
  • Difficulty levels' positives and negative effects spread out more evenly


Story:

  • Reaper campaign added, incomplete


GUI:

  • Burner's grenades now have an outline when turn is ready


Menus:

  • Player now sent back to the story menu after chapter has finished
  • Repairs mode now shows button toggled on when it's on, rather than the opposite

LK v4.04 GUI/Art updates

Gameplay:

  • Expansion Ability 2s added


GUI:

  • Lower bar abilities now have vertical cooldown bars
  • Jammer defects, Burner Jettison defect, Spearman Vernier defect now have heat-type cooldown
  • Ability heat cooldown now has bars for each 10%


Stages:

LKv4.03: Expansion Abilities, Reaper double attack

Gameplay:

Hoping to release the main game and expansion by the end of the year. Story chapters 3 and 4, expansion abilities, and Team Mode will be restricted to the expansion. Both games will share any other changes to gameplay, menus, and story chapters 1-2.

Lk v4.01: Backstab critical hits, GUI and art improvements, new defect

GUI:

  • Move scanners GUI are now windows, have tooltips
  • GUI abilities now distinguish between ammo, cooldown, and heat
  • Targeting reticles are now animated
  • Movement and Ability input modes renamed to be clearer


Gameplay:

  • Enemy weakpoints added. Attack from behind to deal extra damage
  • Team play fixed starting with both units selected
  • Argent added Rotational Disorientation defect. Limitations from Spin Slash and Lander removed until the defect triggers
  • Wraith stealth defect now doesn't apply to images, decreased rate at which range increases


Art:

  • Wraith added sprites transitioning from normal to stealth mode

  • Explosions fixed not damaging enemies


Last things to do are finishing the Saviour's end cinematic, and polishing the campaign
