LK v3.10: Missile and EMP improvements

Missiles:

  • Fixed going through terrain
  • Now explode when hitting terrain
  • Fixed creating death explosion on detonation

  • Reaper's jamming now prevents missiles from turning and proximity detonating

The paid version will allow you to control multiple units at the same time. It's now functional, and just needs a few improvements. That's not really enough to justify a whole expansion pack/DLC, so I'll think about adding two story chapters there.

LK v3.09: Missiles, New Sounds, Fixes, GUI/Art Improved

Gameplay:

  • Enemy Images ability fixed crashing the game
  • Wraith EMP bombs now can't be picked up after activating
  • Explosions now have their own sound
  • Hackable objects fixed showing invisible units
  • Enemy heavy gunner now launches missiles when reloading


Menus:

  • New Story hangar now moves slower and has sounds
  • Story mission previews now show a few unique locations
  • Library player defects fixed having offset images


GUI:

  • Window animation fade changed to black to avoid excessive brightness
  • Wraith's EMP bombs now show ammo count, show when depleted, fixed showing range when off, fixed not updating tooltip, moved damage to tooltip resource, tooltip sprite now shows over terrain


Other:

  • Game icon's 16x16 size now more visible

LK v3.08 Fixes and Cleanup. Preparing game for expansion content.

The gameplay engine was reworked to prepare for expansion pack content. This broke a lot of things; I fixed everything I could find, but there may be more issues.

Gameplay:

  • Burner and Argent's kunai fixed crashing the game


GUI:

  • "Selected unit sprite" is now animated
  • Selected Unit UI sprites now only show when turn state is ready
  • EMP bombs fixed showing wrong ammo amount
  • Enemy ability UI images now have a background
  • Belt bomb timer fixed showing when turn was not ready
  • Several abilities fixed showing wrong triggers or on at wrong times
  • Burner's targeting defect fixed showing as on after using blaster


Sounds:

  • Explosions now use blast enemy's weapon sound instead of gunfire


Menu:

  • Player menu fixed crashing if mouse was not over a player button (earlier in this patch)


Story:

  • Mission two fixed saying "only two maniples responding"
  • Gleaming Darkness mission fixed not having servers on sides, removed No Access Area


Stages:

  • Moon railway improved

Lone King v3.07: Almost Finished

All major known issues addressed, just a few things left for the next patch- which won't be tomorrow.

Menus:

  • New Story menu added a large mech preview
  • Battle menu player selection now shows systems, improved model, added a box, changes model and systems when mousing over player
  • Defects added to Library
  • Load Mission menu now shows a mission preview


Gameplay:

  • White One now has its own sound and animation for overheating
  • Testing mode fixed getting stuck when closing the window while a unit was ready to be placed


GUI:

  • Reaper bomb fixed drawing sprite for tooltip when turn wasn't in the ready state
  • Story missions and Battles now ping their objectives when you press the Objectives Help button
  • Enemy weapon lockon angles now show degrees


Story:

  • Wraith "Total Darkness" mission fixed not having its own dialogue


Art:

  • Fix drawn objects going over game-depth UI, like the Earth in missions 1 and 2

LK v3.06: Meny, GUI Improvements; Shield Bug Fixed

GUI:

  • Mission logs button moved into menu, fixed showing text early
  • Story missions' objective help button now displays the mission's description, and make the victory conditions clear


Enemy GUI Box:

  • Boss weapons are now shown
  • Weapon tooltips improved, show damage, range, and lockon speed as stats
  • Enemy target now shows a clearer name, moved to a better position
  • Portrait now changes when the enemy is offline, and shows an image with the offline timer as tooltip


Gameplay:

  • Arma fixed shields taking damage twice
  • Reaper's Wire Pivot fixed retracting when placing units in testing mode


Menus:

  • New story button now opens a new menu to select operation
  • Load story mission buttons have better descriptions
  • Story mode now has the animated battle mode button to start mission

Lone King v3.05 is looking pretty good

Highlights for v3.04 and v3.05:

GUI:

  • Story missions added message log
  • Weapon and thruster GUI now use tooltip stats
  • In-game top buttons are now hidden until you press the menu button, added “Exit” button below it
  • RGB sliders improved
  • Enemy unit GUI box improved
  • Ability tooltips improved
  • Hax window improved
  • Windows fixed always drawing hax sprite, spawning at top left
  • GUI defects fixed showing colour and text as disabled


Menus:

  • Space stage now removed from random rotation by default


Story:

  • White One missions' dialogue improved
  • White One and Wraith missions moved enemies inside bounds
  • Fixed not setting view to player instance
  • Gleaming Darkness mission increased room size
  • Into The Void mission fixed not showing damaged White One


Other:

  • Cheat codes no longer need the control button to activate



Two patches today, but I think Lone King version 3 is in a great state. If you've been waiting for improvements, I recommend you try it out now.

Lots of GUI Improvements- LK v3.03

GUI

  • Tooltips now show stats separately to text
  • Testing mode GUI Player, Enemies, Abilities buttons now have sprites
  • GUI defects fixed showing when disabled
  • GUI enemy unit, enemy abilities boxes is now a window
  • Invisiblity status image now uses the "on" shade


Gameplay

  • Enemy Images ability- number of images reduced from 10 to 8, replaces destroyed images
  • Gameplay room size increased from 2000 to 2200
  • Argent kunai activation range increased to avoid accidental use, fixed it sometimes missing


Story:

  • White One campaign's first four missions now have 4 enemies in the first 4 missions


Menus:

  • Difficulty mode menu reorganised
  • Sliders now look a lot better
  • Help menu- hacking and damage images made shorter


Art:

  • Enemy death added a third explosion animation

Lone King v3.02

GUI

  • Second Defect button added
  • Fixed overlapping
  • Added darker backgrounds and lighter foregrounds
  • Added messages, tooltip updates, and cooldowns for defects and other abilities
  • Ability, Status, Damage boxes improved
  • Testing mode player, enemy, and ability buttons moved to windows to save space


Gameplay

  • Jammer defect 2 fixed always being available, fixed not being reset by attacking
  • Burner defect 2 now disables when getting hit

Lone King Version 3.00

Lone King version 3 has released with

  • Improved GUI
  • Better default art and graphics settings
  • New defects for all characters, adding tactical depth
  • Larger playable area


The GUI will continue to improve, and gameplay will focus on increasing the need for careful use of abilities to avoid being able to win missions without a plan. Menus will also be improved to be clearer to first time users.

There are no current plans to add more story missions, but the story will be improved, and possibly added to with a new way to delivery story outside of missions and cutscenes.
