Community Update- Measurement Tool and Quality of Life Improvements
Greetings Lords of Rigel! This week has some minor bug fixes and two requested quality of life adjustments.
Measurement Tool
First is a measurement tool for the galaxy menu. By pressing F9 by default, this toggles on or off a measurement tool to determine distances between stars in parsecs.

If you are having issues with the measurement tool, check the common issues thread and how to reset keybindings. Some players returning to LoR may have issues with older keybinding .inis and save files.
Planets Menu Improvements
Second is a requested pan to system in planets menu button, to go with the event ticker and empire menu pan options. If you're in system view this will load that location in the galaxy.

Community Update- Release 1.02
Greetings Lords of Rigel! These past two weeks have included a new leader in the game and some community quality of life improvements and bug fixes.
This Update This last update includes a new technology, breaching pods.
Breaching pods fall as a type of strikecraft and deploy raiding crews that deal damage that penetrates shield and armor with breaching charges that do damage equivalent to your best available bomb with ground combat bonuses applied. They are slow and able to be intercepted by point defense. But they provide a new tool for ground combat focused species.

Other adjustments include gravity penalties applying to High-G species on Low-G planets, including in ground combat.
What's Next? In the immediate future you'll see more leaders and fixes to community reported issues. Over the winter council decrees and a measuring tool when a fleet is not selected are planned features and quality of life improvements.

November Community Update
Greetings Lords of Rigel! The past weeks had a few bug fixes and quality of life improvements based on community feedback:
Critical- Case of planet specials not applying to empire
QOL- Transporters disable all blockading
Spatial compression field fix
Content- New leader
New Leader: Asag the Arcturan Warmaster
Asag led the forces of the Arcturan Confederation during the last great war. Now they offer their services to your Empire. Will they repeat the mistakes of the past?
What to expect next:
A new technology and an additional leader are the planned immediate content.
Based on some feedback from more advanced players, ideas are being tossed around for a Council decree system in galactic council games, which could add voted upon bonuses and and penalties based on species ranking. Decrees would potentially also reduce the doomsday clock in games with elder species. This mechanic would be a major update for later in the winter.

Warp Out Timer in Tactical- Warp out times reduce with better drive technologies.

Renaming player fleets in the Fleet Movement menu (click on fleet name to rename)

There's also been some performance tweaks to blockades and changing colony focus to better optimize empire data changes, While this may not help systems struggling to play the mid to late game, others should be a visible improvement.
