The Black Market?
It is now possible to spend those hard earned Challenge Coins at the Black Market! More Black Market exclusives are on the way. Only those with the right connections are allowed to visit the Black Market (Or you can hold down left-click on the Market button in the Main Menu.)
Badges?
Badges apply a variety of effects in-game. You'll have to collect them to discover what each can do.
How do I get Badges?
Currently, the only way to obtain Badges is at the Black Market by spending Challenge Coins (earned by completing Challenges).
How do I equip a Badge?
The Badge Menu can be accessed via Main Menu > Extras > Badges.
Each badge has an associated cost in order to equip it. The number of badges at that can equipped is limited by the number of points available. Equipping a badge does not permanently consume points. Points can be refunded by unequipping a badge.

Developer Insight - A More Roguelike Experience
Mobmania follows two core design pillars:
A challenging experience.
"No catchup required" multiplayer.
In order to provide a challenging experience, Mobmania forgoes "full-fledged" meta-progression. Many similar games already offer a meta-progression experience, which is a design choice that tailors the game's difficulty to all skill levels. In those games, the game gets much easier the longer you play as you earn/unlock upgrades. In direct contrast, Mobmania aims to test creativity, reflexes, and teamwork, not how many hours you spend playing.
Often times, games with "full-fledged" meta-progression fall-short in allowing newcomers to share in the experience with veteran players. A crude example would be a new player of an MMO attempting to play with a friend who is a long-time player. A newcomer would not meet the minimum criteria in terms of stats/gear to engage in the same content that would benefit a veteran player. Similarly, the veteran player has little incentive to engage in newcomer-friendly content as those rewards have already been out-scaled. Mobmania tries to accommodate players both new and old in playing together - since the minor upgrades/enhancements present are not absolutely necessary to complete content.

Challenge Mode - Co-op
It's time to take on the challenge with friends. Completing the Co-op challenge yields more rewards with more players! When attempting this challenge, each player must be a different character. Go all-out with damage or mix it up with some support and utility! The Black Market is right around the corner.
Misc:
Various visual updates, bug fixes, and balancing - Special thanks to our discord community (the best place to report bugs/feedback)!
Challenges are randomly generated scenarios. They are similar to regular runs; however, there are a few differences. The stage is randomly selected. Additionally, three random Jinxes are selected. Jinxes are modifiers that apply varying effects (such as making mobs stronger, faster, etc.) Hover over each Jinx in the Challenge Menu to see what they do!
What do I get out of it?
Completing a challenge will only reward a Challenge Coin once a day (resetting daily at 00:00 UTC).
While not much use at the moment, Challenge Coins will eventually be used to obtain more exclusive content/upgrades via the Black Market (Coming Soon!)
How do I access Challenges?
The Challenge Menu can be accessed via the Main Menu by clicking on the Challenges button. Note: An active network connection is required to pull the latest seed.
The Daily Pig?
Discord Members know the Daily Pig! The Daily Pig was posted daily (who would've guessed) for around 2 months. They didn't know it, but we've set up the Daily Pig to reward Mobmania Coins in-game (one for each Mobmania Coin reaction!) as a special thanks for supporting the server. While no longer in the server, the Daily Pig lives on in-game.

What's NEW in Version a.1.8.7
Lucy Rework:
Lucy previously struggled with handling large amounts of mobs since her kit revolves around maintaining a specific distance from mobs. Missing a tipper would cause the number of mobs to snowball as she lacked the room to properly space her attacks. We're updating her kit to provide more mobility and wave clearing potential. Her new kit still has a focus on spacing and timing, but we've given her extra tools to catch up even if she misses a tipper here and there.
Beginner Lucy Tips:
By design, Lucy is character that relies on dealing high amounts of critical damage and has a high skill ceiling. Typically, landing a critical hit is determined by the player's critical chance percentage. Unique to Lucy, her weapon Tipper will be a guaranteed critical hit if enemies are only within the tip of the strike.
If there are any enemies that are too close, the guaranteed critical hit will not be granted. Positioning and timing is key to mastering Lucy.
If Tipper's guaranteed critical hit was granted, additional strikes granted by her skills will be guaranteed to critically hit anywhere within the swing. The swing's color will change when this is active. Take this opportunity to clear large amounts of mobs!
Build Tips
Lucy likes sweet drinks and hates going to the gym!

Dense Matter now spawns in front of the player instead of on top to prevent accidental damage.
