We've lowered the price to $15 dollars instead of $20. For the players who just want to play the game and not create content I think the $15 price point makes sense for now
New Featured Creations

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=909478569 Monster Hunters - Online game mode where one team are hunters trying to kill a single person on the other team, the Monster, with 10x the health and 3x the size
Large Changes
- New 'Melee Fighter' AI System - can fight with any sword/shield toy. Right now this is used by the 'SwordFighter' NPC in the Basics mod, and the Skeletons in Dungeon mod. This was the first use of attaching toys to NPCs, we will expand on this to add gun support. Also new NPC options like Team.
- Class Manager Entity - Adds class options for multiplayer. Player Classes can set the player's model, starting weapons in Holsters, locomotion speed, scale. We will be expanding on this system for the next update also
- Horror Enviroment mod, and Horror Props mod. With over 300 new entities for creating Horror style enviroments
- Fast Mod Loading - it now only loads the parts of mods used in the creation. Which really speeds up loading creations using large mods like the Horror Environment mod
- Undo System - We finally added a Undo button in the build menu.
- Network optimizations and a lot of bug fixes. Fixed a lot of issues people were having with Holsters. And decreased bandwidth usage. We also fixed a lot of possible bugs when joining a game mid game
Other fixes/small changes
- Only shows level bounds when using locomotion
- New holster options: set max respawns, respawn time
- New option to have the comfort cube always off
- Upgraded Morph3d avatars to version 1.6, which comes with some speed boosts

- Fixed issues with Entity category icons not updating
- Option for Timer to beep every second and buzz when over
As always let us know if you have any issues / ideas / comments - Thanks!

ModboxSDK now released! Intro video + tutorial
Video + Quick Tutorial on making a Shotgun mod:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS9M1fsQO5E
The ModboxSDK is finally out! It took a long time since making a Unity game fully moddable is insanely hard.
Modders can use it to make any content to upload to Steam Workshop - new entities, environments, avatars, game modes, anything. Along that with you can run the full Modbox game in the SDK, and see all gameplay source code. Later on we will be launching a public Github repo to submit code changes for Modbox updates.
Online Mod Wiki/Guide: http://www.modboxgame.com/node/46
From the start of Modbox development the goal has been to make a fully moddable game from the start - so this SDK has always been a main focus.
If you don't have Modbox and you are a Unity dev wanting to try the SDK - Fill out this sign up form here and we will send a free key: http://www.modboxgame.com/node/766
If you have any questions on using it we have a SDK discussion forum on our Steam forums:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/414120/discussions/5/
Also a Slack group with a #sdk channel, which you can sign up for here:

Modbox Update 10 - NPC System, Avatars, Modern Weapons, Zombies and chatbots
I finally got this update out. On sale for 40% off this week!
Zombie Saloon: (A COD Zombies inspired zombie wave game)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=857728985
Modern Weapons Firing Range: (test all of the new modern weapons)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=857794291
Compound: (Deathmatch map using Modern Weapons pack)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=868185806
ChatBot Test: Talk to creepy NPC chatbots in VR
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=868195010
Major Additions:
- NPC System: You can add the 'blank NPC' entity, then customize it's AI and model. Or just use a already setup one like the Zombies. We will be expanding this system with more AI options later on.
- Avatar System: The previous robot avatars are now used for edit mode and when in the lobby. In play mode you now have a human avatar - using the same player models used by the NPC system.
- Edit mode Physics: Objects now have their physics turned on in edit mode (most objects, not primitives). This allows easier placement, and replaces the surface snap (which never worked really well).
- 'Modern Weapons' mod with 25 realistically modeled weapons - all with reloading with their own clips entities.
- New edit 'Help Menu' - You can not watch our Youtube tutorials while playing! Just uses a ingame browser + Youtube, so you can skip to any part. We will be updating the tutorials for our next release.
Other changes:
- Fixed online issue with Holsters - where some players wouldn't have their Holsters get setup. Also fixed World Holsters
- Moved a number of entities from the 'basics' mod to core, so they are always available (all joints, and some control entities)
- 'Locomotion Blocker' entity to block where player can teleport/move to
- Networked voice audio now 50% positional (I wanted some positional audio but also wanted to always be able to hear people in game. I might make this changeable later)
- Grip locomotion now the default in edit mode (since it's all we use normally)
Thanks!

Elimination Wild West deathmatch - no respawns
Besides these 3 new creations this update is mostly fixing a few things. I hope to have another update out in about a week to a week in a half with some major additions.
Changes:
- When saving, can now select which workshop creation to override with a dropdown. This should entirely fix the issue with having to save a new workshop item instead of just updating it.
- Fixed error with spawn menu in play mode
- Fixed issues with pink floors in Dungeon mod
- Fixed error with timer entity (the invisible version)
- Fixed occasional crash when switching creations when inside a environment that was included in a mod
Thanks!

Modbox Update 8 - Suburbia mod, Holsters, Camera waypoints and Oculus Touch
NOTE! The Modbox demo is free and lets players play online in the featured creations - just doesn't allow editing creations - so if you do have a friend you want to play Saloon deathmatch with, have them download the demo. We will continue to update the demo as we update the game.
Besides the Suburbia mod, with a giant amount of new build options, the Holster system is the main thing I was working on the last week.
The Holster system is important because it will tie nicely into all the online game modes we have planned. For the Deathmatch maps like Saloon Showdown it means we can start the player with a pistol and dynamite. And for future game modes we can add more customization to say Holsters with certain items will only start on players on a certain team, or a certain class.
So after this update, and my holiday, my focuses will be:
- ModboxSDK - this is done, and releasing VERY soon. Will let you make your own Modbox mods. I finally got this working this week - Unity does not make modding easy
- More Online game mode options: It should be the case that you can set up most possible online game modes by just adding and customizing entities. Including class based games and team matches. So there should be more experiments with this in the next update
- NPC System: For Human like NPC characters. With hopefully a LOT of AI options to customize
- Play mode Building: A want to move over a lot of the editor functionality into play mode. So you should be able to build anything you can in edit mode in play mode - which should open up a lot of online game mode possibilities (building tanks to fight each other, building stuff to do puzzles, etc). This might also be a step towards full edit mode multiplayer - though I think this might just be a better alternative
New Features:
- Sububia Mod
- Holster System: Place in Edit mode, where you can also optionally place something to start inside of it. It will spawn on all players. Can set the inside entity to continiously respawn after grabbing it.
- Camera Waypoint Mod: A good tool for making a VR runner type creation where you have to dodge walls. Also can be triggered by the wiring system - will be eventually used for moving the players camera around for shooter game modes.
- Oculus Touch support: With a 'Rotate' button on both hands. Shown at end of dev log video
- 'World Control' Entity. Can wire things to it to set world properties ingame - right now just gravity and time
Changes:
- Added FPS option to Camera Entity, to help with performance if a large amount of cameras are used. Options are 1, 15, 30, 60.
- Play Area Restrictor, and other large entities like lights, can now just be grabbed at their center, and their center doesn't scale with the entity. This just makes it so they don't have a giant box to accidentally grab.
Fixes:
- Fixed server list screen not working right if player was disconnected from master server
- Fixed comfort cube being always-on in Play Mode
- Optimizations to browsing Entity list, and Workshop creations
- Now preventing closing of certain big UI screens: game over, select team
- fixed some issues with signs and if signs were placed by themself
- Fixed font selection for signs when not using Basics mod
Thanks!

Modbox Demo Released
Players can now download the Modbox demo to try all of our featured creations and play online:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/563980/
Which includes the latest Dungeon and Wild West mods/creations:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=805541737
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=810661900
I was planning on this demo giving full access to all player creations - but unfortunately Steam Workshop doesn't allow that right now. A Steam demo can't access a full game's workshop yet, apparently. I am contacting Valve hoping there is a way we can still do that.
So for this demo we took all of the Featured creations off of the workshop and included them in the demo. All of them can be played online. As we update the game with more Featured Creations we will add them to the demo also.
Since our last update we've also updated a few things and changed a few creations:
- Added scoreboards to Battle Bubble, Dune Temple, Reactor Core, Dojo Duel
- Added Stairs in/out of Dungeon Arena, so one team can't get into another teams spawn spot
- Fixed issues with 'On Collision' modifer, and added 'No Breaking' option to physics modifier
- Added Filter By Tag options to goals
thanks,
- Lee
Modbox Update 7 - Wild West mod, Locomotion options, Gamemodes
It has been a while since our last update - We have decided to switch to a biweekly update schedule (with hopefully a dev log with each update) so updates will be smaller and more frequent
The Modbox Demo will be released early next week - it'll be the full game just without editing creations. Demo players can play online and try any mod/creation
New Featured Creations:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=810661900
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=805541737
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=805538707
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=805535941
Largest additions:
- Wild West Mod
- Destructible Objects Mod
- Playmode Locomotion Options - Directional and Touchpad added. What locomotion the creation uses will be displayed on load creation screen.
- New Entity Category: Gamemodes. Adds a 'Team Controller' so creations can be team based gamemodes. Add different kinds of scoreboards that are shown on death and game over (and with the 'scoreboard' menu option). Scoreboards right now are Steam Leaderboards, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Custom Team scoreboard (can wire scores into it).
- When server changes creation that a player doesn't have, it no longer disconnects that player. Player stays on the server and a screen pops up to download the creation.
- Added Avatar Torso options
- New floating HUD with health bar
- 'Respawn' modifier to respawn entities
- Mesh Editing: Can now select faces, and use the Gizmo option for easier placement
New Dungeon Entities:
- Pressure Plate, Spinning Blade, Spike Plate
- Two bows
Other Changes:
- Actions can now set text variables on entities
- Scaling the edit mode labels with the player
- Added 'time string' to timer output, to output the time display. Added no millseconds option
- Slingshot now starts in off-hand (similar to longbow)
- Replaced 'restart' function entity with 'game over'
- Can now set a doors 'locked' bool through wiring
- New sounds: sci fi door open/close, grenades
- Fixed bug with teleport ray colliding with collision entity
- A 'Play Online' option when opening creations
There is a lot of content we've been working on that we've held back for this update - so we still have a lot of new stuff to release in the next few weeks
As for long term plans - multiplayer building and getting the ModboxSDK out is now the focus
thanks!

Modbox Wiring Update, Multiplayer changes - 3.2.2
Even though we just released our multiplayer update a few days ago we decided to update again with Wiring system updates and a new 'Entity Modifiers' system. Both are for advanced creation building.
If you haven't tried multiplayer yet - Harley made a highlights video of the first day of the multiplayer beta:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNVJ1wEN8EI
New Wiring Entities:
- Boolean Gate: Works as a logic gate - connect multiple boolean inputs and get a boolean output. Can set gate by editing to AND / OR / NAND / NOR / XOR / XNOR. Replaces 'Bool Box'
- Number Compare: Edit it to set the number to compare to, then set how to compare (equal / greater / less than) - then it will compare input number to that, and output true/false. An example of this would be to stop a wave spawner on wave 10, or open a door once 10 objects are broken.
- Call Functions Entity - Outputs an Action to any number of functions. Can be set to output all at once, in order, or randomly. Replaces 'Function Box'
- Action Loop: Outputs a action every X seconds.
- Number Variable: Starts with a number and can input/output that number
- Number Operation: Has a Function that does a math operation (add/subtract/multiply) on all of it's input numbers and outputs the result
We removed the old 'Bool Box' and 'Function Box'. We put a lot of effort into back compatibility with our changes - but if you have old creations with advanced wiring using those entities things might have been broken and could use updating.
Entity Modifiers:
When editing any entity you can now add a 'Modifer'. This adds additional editing options to the entity, along with wiring options. Current modifiers are:
- Physics Options: Set gravity, physics material
- Grab Settings: Turn off grabbing of the entity, run action on grab
- On Collision Options: Do damage on collision, run actions on collision
- Custom Tag: Set a custom tag text onto the entity. You can then use this tag in other entity settings. Like you could add a custom 'Ball' tag to a object, then create a goal by adding a Collision Detector that only detects entities with a 'Ball' tag.
Other 3.2.2 Changes:
- Added messages when you kill another player, and who killed you when you die.
- Fixed error with not being able to rejoin a server if there was a error that caused disconnect
- Fixed Muting individual players not working
Grab Based Locomotion / Panning / Rotation Makes editing while sitting down easier - along with quickly getting around large creations
Surface Snap This is useful for placing objects when they should snap right to the surface of another one / the ground.
thanks!

Modbox Update 6 - Multiplayer beta
Multiplayer! Along with a large amount of other new changes. This is our first multiplayer release, so multiplayer is still very much in development. If you try it now let us know your thoughts!
Multiplayer - Use the Online option in the menu to join/start a online game. You'll start in the Lobby - and anyone can join your game at any time. You can then select which creation to play.
- You can play any creation in multiplayer - including drone waves
- As the Server you have complete control over reseting the game, loading another creation, or kicking any players. You can also set a password if you want a private game.
- Voice chat with avatar lip sync already added. You can change the voice volume, or mute specific players
- Player limit right now is 5, mainly since most of the creations would not be fun with more than that
Our plan for multiplayer is to keep developing it over the next month, then when it's ready we are planning to launch a free Modbox demo version. The demo version will let players play online but not edit their own creations. Hopefully this will keep the active player count higher.
Workshop Browsing Another large focus of this update is trying to get more players checking out Workshop content. There are already a lot of awesome workshop creations but in our last update it wasn't easy to find/subscribe. You can now browse the entire workshop ingame - searching by popularity, featured, release date, or creation tags - and then download and play them.
You can also rate them ingame using the main menu button.
Major Changes / Additions:
- 'Grab Locomotion' for editor: Similar to UnrealVR or the new Tiltbrush update - you can hold the grip buttons to pull yourself around, and to rotate and scale. This is turned on in the Editor settings of the UI cube.
- 'Restart on Death' - Now with the addition of multiplayer the default thing to do on death is to respawn the player. So for wave defense levels (where the amount of guys keep increasing), you probably dont want players to keep respawning. So use this option to not respawn but restart on death. For multiplayer that means once all players are dead it will let the host restart (so it's basically elimination mode)
- New Surface Snap editing option: turn this on to have the entity snap to the surface of the other entity it's colliding with. Makes placing entities ontop of one another (or directly on the ground) a lot easier.
- New Sci fi weapons: 4 grenades (each with a different way to activate), 4 turrets that can be mounted in levels, and a bolt action railgun with scope
- New bow and arrow aiming - now more like The Lab's Longbow
- Large optimizations for loading large mods (like the Dungeon assets)
- Large optimizations for levels with a large amount of dynamic rigidbodies
- More new Entities: Sci fi door and two force fields in sci fi mod, fireworks, katana sword
- Physics improvements: Better football throwing, higher friction all around.
- Race track entities added to RC car mod (we are working on a multiplayer RC race track creation, still coming though)
- New 'Gizmo' editing option: turns on gizmo axis that you easily grab to move a entity in a single direction
- 'Lock' option on the radial menu. Lock a entity in place, so you can more easily edit it's mesh or scale it (and also move it with the new gizmo options)
Some of the best new workshop creations for online play:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770157852&searchtext=
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770267633&searchtext=
Voice Command System - This is still in development! And is currently Windows 10 only. Off by default but can be turned on in Options menu
- You can see a test of this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-ZhotqLcZ4
- We are working on making the voice commands more obvious - like putting a list of them in the menu to the side.
Commands are:
- Open *Tool name*
- Go To *Menu Option*
- Spawn *Enity Name*
- Then for a variety of actions it's: Modbox *Action*. Such as toggling play mode on/off, open the load creation menu, selecting mods, etc
Custom Audio files - Creations can now have their own custom audio - that is uploaded to the Steam workshop along with the creation
- Place files (.wav or .mp3) in the CustomAudio folder where their .exe is, then it'll show up in the sound effects list for the Sound Effect / Sound Loop entities
Other changes / fixes - New options for wave controller: can set it to start a new wave in X seconds, rather than have to wait for the last one to finish
- Snap settings now saved in player preferences, rather than with creation
- Group tool now always selects the spawner rather than the thing inside spawner
- HighScore and CurrentScore both display on death screen. Highscore displays on creation confirm screen if there is one
- Fixed entities getting caught in floor in the Void level
- More Wire controls for Doors: locking, opening
- RC Car Color can now be selected, along with controller, so different RC cars can be controlled by rc controllers
- Increased level area of moon level
- Fixed problem with Restart button and restarting in wrong location
- Collision Detector entity can now detect players, and cause damage to players or entities on entering
- Fixed Timers countdown / count up not working when above 1 minute
Whats Next - I updated the Roadmap post here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/414120/discussions/0/355043117521260717/ - Main focus now is on expanding the wiring system
Multiplayer additions we are still working on - Team options
- More locomotion options for creations.
Known Issues - Effects volume currently also sets voice volume
Part of the reason for the giant amount of new additions is since our last update we have expanded our team. We were a team of 2 (Harley and myself), and now have 3 more developers helping us
- Regan Russell
- Joe Chatfield
- Roby Atadero
If your a Unity developer interested in joining the team - email me at jobs(at)alientrap.org . We are still looking for more Unity developers to help us remotely part time.
thanks!
- Lee
Voice commands and some new mods
Coming next update - voice commands!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-ZhotqLcZ4
Commands are:
- Open *Tool name*
- Go To *Menu Option*
- Spawn *Enity Name*
- Then for a variety of actions it's: Modbox *Action*. Such as toggling play mode on/off, open the load creation menu, selecting mods, etc
We've also added 6 material mods for more material options:
http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=414120&searchtext=&childpublishedfileid=0&browsesort=mostrecent§ion=readytouseitems&admin_view=1&requiredtags%5B%5D=Materials
In the next update we will be revamping the workshop browse screen - at the moment it just highlights the 'featured' creations/mods. In our next update it should be the full workshop browser like you have online
