Today I've released Mutagenic EA Patch 0.4.6, containing the following changes:
10 new Unique Genes
Simplification of Gene Crafting System
New pointer to the portal
Achievement fixes
New stats: Evasion, Extra Damage, Skill Radius
New Keystones for weapon skills
Changes to difficulty modes (and a new Endless Mode)
Fixed a bug with Arc damage scaling
Changes to ailment calculations
... many other balance changes. Importantly, fixed a double-dipping bug with monster damage scaling -- defensive stats now work properly and are more effective!

Small update:
Phantom Shield can no longer proc multiple times per game tick.

Many, many, bugfixes and QoL improvements.
Most importantly, this patch lays the groundwork for the future. With the core systems now in place, future patches will be focusing on content expansion.
Expanded Combat & Enemies
Genes are craftable items which you equip in a Gene Loadout. Gene Loadouts are usable by any of your characters, providing them with powerful stat boosts and mechanical changes!
There are 4 types of Genes: Offensive, Defensive, Utility, and Lesser. Unique variants of these are coming in an upcoming patch. Each one has different possible mods, and different mod strength. Check the in-game reference specific details.
Gene Loadouts
Upcoming patches will introduce more Unique Gene varieties, introducing even more build diversity on top of the massive amount already introduced in this iniital launch!
The Gene Editor
The new Gene Editor lets you craft your own unique, powerful Genes for use with your characters. Many powerful combinations can be crafted through skill and a bit of luck!
All crafting is powered by the various orb drops from enemies -- check it out in game to experiment!
New Mutation Tree
An expanded, rebalance Mutation Tree, with adding Quality of Life features such as smart pathing, full controller support, renaming, and more.
Revamped Codex & Reference
Look up all item stats for every tier, and every possible crafting outcome. Plan your crafts, execute, and become a Mutagenic hero!

Good morning!
Today I'm releasing update 0.4.3
This update reintroduces macOS support!
Among two 2 skills, and a few new items, this update brings many improvements to the user interface, as well as some big balance changes and bugfixes.
Here are some of the changes:

Steam Achievements!
I've added in support for Steam Achievements in this update, and will continue to add more with further updates.
====== 2 New Active Skills: Static Charge and Pompeii
Static Charge creates orbs of lightning damage which move around the character damaging enemies.
Pompeii summons a small volcano which periodically shoots Fire projectiles, dealing area damage.

5 New Essence Items which give your character more penetration stats.
======
A few new status effects: Charred, Conductive, Exposed
Fire damage has a 10% chance on hit to inflict Charred, reducing enemy attack and cast speed by 20% for 4 seconds
Lightning damage has a 10% chance on hit to inflict Conductive, increasing damage taken by 10% for 4 seconds.
Exposed is a new status effect that lowers resistances by 10% for 4 seconds. Currently available on the Mutation Tree

XP is gained on kill now -- no more annoying orb pickups!
The absorb drop is also gone as a result.

Fixed map rotation
Map rotation is now fixed, and cycles through the levels.

Poison and Bleed damage types are gone -- these are now considered Physical and Toxic damage.

Improved visual clarity of Mutation Tree
Better colors, highlights, and indicators of what is clickable.

Patch Notes - Windows Only
Good day!
I apologize for the time between the latest update and now.
This patch contains a ton of new features, quality of life improvements, and game system changes. Although this patch doesn't introduce too many new assets, it does introduce very big changes to the underlying mechanics -- the goal is this will allow for much more impactful changes in the future, and I'm excited to start working on them!
High level feature changes:
1. Mutation Tree:
The new Mutation Tree replaces the old Mutation system, which allows for much greater character customization and more functionality improvements. If you've every played a popular ARPG with one of these, you'll understand :)
Mutation Points are unlocked by leveling up your Mutation Tier, which is accomplished by completing stages. The further you get in a run, the more bonus experience you'll receive.
2. The game now features stages, instead of a singular level with infinite monsters. As you progress through each stage, you'll gain a portal to the next one, featuring tougher enemies. Leaderboards are now computed on the highest stage completed in the shortest time. Good luck!
3. Damage Types
I've completely overhauled the gameplay mechanics, and there are now multiple different damage types. You can access various stats via the Mutation Tree or via items which allow you to customize your characters!
4. Character Keystones
Each character starts with a unique keystone, giving them each unique gameplay opportunities.
5. Fixed layout generation
Still a work in progress, but level layout generation is much more predictable now.
6. Physics & Knockback
Characters and monsters are now physically simulated, so they can be knocked back, slowed, etc via mechanics in game.
7. Projectiles have a maximum travel distance
8. Many UI improvements, full controller support.
... and much more.
Please note that due to the many many changes in game, this patch will use a new save file. 0.3.x saves are not being deleted, but they will be unused going forward.

Patch Notes 0.3.13
This patch contains a number of new keystones, including 2 new active abilities.
The 2 new skills available are Battle Axe, and Frost Orb.
Lumi now starts with Frost Orb instead of Blizzard.
Various other balance changes, too much to write here. I'm resetting the leaderboards for this as the balance is likely quite different now.

Lumi now grants 60% increased effect of curses.
Damage Capacitor damage reduced from 100% of stored damage -> 15% of stored damage.
New, less obnoxious XP pickup sound!
Added clarity around locked item chests.
Fixed issue where curse proliferation wouldn’t apply spread curses properly.
Fixed issue with projectile collisions against terrain.
