I want to start this post by thanking every single one of you for helping us during this Early Access period, your help , bugs reports, feedback and suggestions is really giving us a boost and we are not only lucky to have you guys to support us but we feel really encouraged to make this game better each day.
Today, we fixed a lot of bugs, mostly the last things that were blocking game progress such as broken bridges.
There will be no patch today as we just finished our testing and even though there is a LOT of improvement in the game, we still found 3 major blockers to fix before we can update the steam version, which is expected tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience and your understanding, we will of course keep you updated as soon as we release a patch tomorrow during the day.
Have a great day, night, or even morning, wherever you are in this beautiful world.
The Nanotale team

Hello Fox Riders,
We have been working hard on a series of patches to improve the game experience. Find below the changelog:

Added several keyboard layouts (option menu) (ESDF, ZQSD, WASD)
Added a better looking loading screen
Added missing section which allowed players to fall out of the level
Improved collision detection which should prevent Rosalind from falling from bridges
Fixed all known bridge collisions issues (please report if you find new ones). We know there is one left in the South West.
Improved collisions, bounding boxes and physics detection which made Rosalind being soft locked in places
Improved bull/sheep behavior which made Rosalind go out of bound and soft locked
Fixed shielded FX
Fixed lower, low, middle and high quality startup scene (lights not properly loaded)
Fixed several corrupted save points which made Rosalind fall through the level upon respawn
Fixed several invisible walls on small props (some are remaining)
Fixed some broken camera behaviors in dialogs
Improved fire FX so player can better understand explosion + burning status
Fixed camera which take a high view on the Tree of Life and get stuck there
Improved the stealth notification (WIP)
Improved 2D map (only the central part, rest will follow)
Fix issue on mana / health upgrade (+0%)
Fixed some font issues
Temptative fix on 2nd battle where Rosalind was disappearing (bug was not reproducible)
Fixed Fishing Cactus logo upon startup
Fixed Nanotale banner in startup tool
Added French, Spanish, German, Brazillian Portuguese, Italian. Polish and Russian have been added but not tested. Chinese is currently not supported (displayed as debug in the options menu, don’t use it) Restart the game to play in your language.
Many other small things!
Important notes
If you are experiencing issues and get abnormal behaviors (enemies playing weird animations, effects not being reset), you’ll have to delete your save file and restart. To delete your save file, go to Windows: C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Fishing Cactus\Nanotale and delete the folder.
Queen last battle is still buggy and doesn’t give you the required power to access the last part of the content of Early Access.
Thank you very much for the support!
Cheers, -VirginRedemption

Nanotale is now available!
Hi Fox Riders,
We are honored to welcome you to the Order. You are now ready to be an Archivist from Nanotale and to venture alone in the Ancestral Forest to unveil its secrets.
We hope that you will enjoy your time during early access. Don't hesitate to help us improve the game by giving us feedback end reporting bugs in the following steam discussions.
Leaving us a review will also help us a lot during the rest of the development and increase visibility on the game.
What can you expect from the current version ?
The game features around 2-4 hours of gameplay depending on your skills and willingness to explore its content.
We consider art direction as final and core game mechanics are in place.
As an Early Access version, we are aware there are both major and minor bugs in the build.
Our priority in the following days and weeks will be to make sure those bugs are ironed out and you can experience the game up to its end. As of today, the build is solid but in edge cases, blockers can be found. Also expect quite a few updates on Steam.
What we plan to improve from here?
As an Early Access version, we know things are not perfect and we already have a lot planned on our side until final release. Here is an overview of what we plan to do.
Improve character animations and transitions (NPCs, main character)
Refine the Fox FX
Work on transitions
Work on cameras
Add new FXs
UI/UX
Many improvements to be made on menus
COMBAT
Integrate adaptive difficulty
Tweak speed, damage and behaviors of enemies
MAP
Make the gameplay elements on the 2D map more visible
Work on the level design to make paths and understanding of levels clearer
CONTENT
2 more biomes each featuring their own unique environment
Complementary powers
More NPCs and villages
MUSIC/SFX
Add new and more variety to current SFXs
Add new and more music themes
STORY

Tweaks texts and dialogues
Thank you very much for the love and support guys!

Weekly Update #42: Two days before release
Hi Fox Riders,
Last week we were at IndieCade Europe with Nanotale. We saw a lot of returning Fox Riders from Epistory and it was really nice to make them try Nanotale.
We also implemented a lot of things that we need to be ready for release. Such as the map below.
But also this enemy. It's called the heavy enemy. It's not really fast but when it's hit you it's a one shot kill.
Thank you very much for reading!
Can't wait to press the release button.
Cheers, -VirginRedemption

Weekly Update #41: One week before Launch
Hi Fox Riders,
At one week from the release in early access, we are actively working on polishing and implementing the content that will be available.
Sometimes it can be just making the grass moving so the decor looks more lively.
And other times it's implementing things such as the bridge animation.
That it for today! See you next week for the release!!!
Have a great week.

Save the Date! Game Release
Hi Fox Riders,
We are happy to announce the release of Nanotale in early access on the 23rd of October 2019.
[previewyoutube="5IohCH2aCx8;full"]
Why in Early Access?
The initial plan was to release the full game in September 2019 but then, we noticed that if we really wanted to release the game we dreamed of along with our community, it would take a little bit more time. So, we decided to polish the first 35% of the game and put it in your hands to make sure that we are on the right track while finishing Nanotale.
We give more info about the early access and its content in the following video.
[previewyoutube="Z2kd_ams2fo;full"]
The more feedback we get, the better our game will be at release. So, thank you in advance for your support!
Have a wonderful week. -VirginRedemption
Weekly Recap #40: New Fast Enemy
Hi Fox Riders,
Last week we finished more enemies. The Cheetah-like was one of them.
The Cheetah-like enemy is the fastest enemy from Nanotale. It moves faster than Rosalind and can spot you from far away.
I hope you are scared because with this one you'll have to type fast or run for your life!
Have a great week!
Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Psssss: this week we'll reveal the release date of Nanotale :)
Weekly Recap #39: Polishing Animations and Fixing Bugs
Hi Fox Riders,
Last week we were busy on fixing bugs found during the closed BETA. We also polished a lot of content to make sure that the game will be an enjoyable experience for players at release.
Polishing Animations
This is the animation played when Rosalind get a fragment of magic.
That's what happens when you hit an enemy because they are not made of fleash and blood.
And this is the basic shader that will be on all the enemies in Nanotale.
BONUS
Here a video of our artist Lopskull when he created the snake from the Sunken Caves.

You can see more of his work here: https://www.artstation.com/LopSkull
Thank you for reading! Be tuned, next weel we'll announce the exact release date of the game.
