April 15 Update - Sailing Dynamics, Delivery Missions, and Fixes

Captains,

Following changes will be deployed today, April 15:

Increased inertia momentum for all vessels by 10%. If you are sailing in the 100%-75% speed zone - you will lose speed 10% slower both when losing wind and when actively turning. Additional inertia changes are also coming.

Slight changes in rudder efficiency (the loss of rudder effectiveness from losing speed will be slightly smoother - not so drastic).

Increased Conquest Flag Weight to 800 so only heavier vessels can deliver it to the destination.

Increased Air Balloon hold size to 50 tons.

Added missing resources to the following areas:

  • Baracoa area: Added iron and saltpeter source
  • Trinidad area: Added molasses

Delivery Mission rewards now properly scale with the distance between ports.

Cerberus Note from the Final Exam can now be activated even without free dock space — the ship will be added directly to your fleet.

Fixed a bug that allowed escaping to shallow ports while sailing deep-water ships.

Fixed an issue with incorrect hull repair cooldown on the Brig.

April 13 Update – Wapen von Hamburg Fix and Economy Adjustments

Issue with Joining Port Battles on Wapen von Hamburg

Captains,

There is currently a bug that prevents you from joining port battles with 1450 and 3000 BR on the Wapen von Hamburg.

The issue will most likely be addressed tomorrow or on Monday.

April 12 Hotfix and Gameplay Improvements

Captains,

Following changes were deployed today, April 12:

Fixed bug that stopped showing delivery missions to players - added additional missions. Delivery missions are now available everywhere.

Fixed a bug that caused Sails Repair to not work in the Pursuit and Capture Tutorial.

Unarmed ships with no guns now have trouble fighting in boarding combat. The crew seeing that the Captain chose to start boarding with no gun loses desire to fight in boarding melee.
Please - Do not board enemy ships of you have no guns equipped.

Elite NPC ships fight more fiercely during boarding.

Slightly increased Doubloon rewards for sinking NPCs in the Open World.

Slightly increased profits from deep water trading.

Redistributed consumables in NPC Port Shops in the Bahamas.

Added supply of gunpowder, ammunition and repairs to several ports in the center of the map

Galeon DLC Now Available on Steam

Peace Server is now Open

Captains,

The Peace server is now open.

All players who purchased Naval Action when it was available for purchase on Steam may continue to play on the Peace server.

Players who downloaded Naval Action for free - can support and access the Peace Server by purchasing the Galeon DLC.

Plans for the Next Month

Captains, here’s what we’re working on over the next month:

  1. Improve turning speed and wind curve balance (specifically some ships have very slow speed at 180 wind)
  2. Improve ship inertia (allowing to keep more speed for longer for very heavy vessels if they don't turn actively)
  3. Improve PVP Boarding (keep NPC boarding the same - simpler) but greatly increase efficiency of counters for PvP
  4. Final balance on money
  5. Add HDFs
  6. Finalize leak and fire balance

DLC Delay on Steam – Clarifications

Due to a large number of login requests, the Steam authorization system may take some time to process DLC entitlements. This process is handled by Valve, and we have no control over it.

If you don’t see your DLCs listed, please wait a bit and check again in an hour or later — they will show up.
