No Plan B "Mod Support" Update (Beta 14)

Big News! The game just received an update with new modding capabilities.
Custom missions were a great start, but now you can also change the visuals AND the gameplay!
Details below.

Visual Modding

The game now supports modding of the 3D models used by:

  • your characters (add more selectable skins)
  • the enemies (override the skins used by the game)
  • the weapons (change their look)

Here's a guide that will help you do just that:
https://mod.io/g/noplanb/r/modding-3d-models

And I've published a quick and dirty visual mod example that adds a new skin for your characters, changes the look of the enemies and the BDD7 SMG:
https://mod.io/g/noplanb/m/model-mod-example

Gameplay Modding

You can also change the way the game works by modding these elements:

  • your character stats (move speed, accuracy, etc)
  • the enemy stats (same)
  • the enemy AIs (their prirorities and reaction ranges)
  • the faction modifiers (how they affect your team)
  • the weapon stats (best range, aiming time, etc)
  • the grenade stats (are of effect, damages, etc)
  • the shield stats (protection angle, impact on your movements, etc)

This guide on how to achieve this:
https://mod.io/g/noplanb/r/gameplay-modding-guide

And here's another mod example that makes anyone die on the first hit (quite interesting to play actually, tell me what you think):
https://mod.io/g/noplanb/m/one-tap-mod-config-mod-example

Custom Missions

Let's not forget the custom missions which have been possible for quite a while.
There are already 67 missions currently available! Discover them here:
https://mod.io/g/noplanb?tags-in=Custom+Mission

I've merged and simplified the guides for the map editor and the publishing of your custom missions here:
https://mod.io/g/noplanb/r/map-editor-help

I can't wait to see what you'll do with it.
Feel free to join us on Discord if you need help with these tools.

Fixes

  • Fixed roof not blocking vision in exterior maps with buildings of different heights

No Plan B "Special Operations" Update (Beta 13)

Crouching

You can now crouch, greatly reducing your move and rotation speeds, but making your movement silent, improving your accuracy and making you much harder to hit.

But the real benefits are numerous.
You can line up 2 characters in the same direction and double your firepower.
Protect your crouching teammate while they interact with doors or use grenades.

You can also hide while crouching to sneak around enemies, reducing your engagement range and surprising them.

Last but not least, you will increase your coverage when behind objects.

Perks Accessibility

The feedback on the perks was pretty clear on Discord: perks are too expensive to be used in the early game.
Activating perks will no longer cost credits but will instead reduce your mission score.

Each Map Scan (still limited to 3) will remove 10% of your final score, Deafening Strike 15%, Tear Gas 20% and Night Raid 25%.
These penalties are cumulative.
For instance, if you use 1 Map Scan and Night Raid, your score will be reduced by 35% (10 + 25).

New Scoring System

The scoring formulas have been changed once again to accommodate different map sizes.
Instead of having a fixed number of points for each objective completed, the score will take into account the ratio of objectives completed.
For instance, instead of having 1000 points for each objective, you will receive 3000 points x ration of completed objectives (objective completed / total objectives).

Overall scores should be higher (as well as the credit reward on your first try!).
Therefore, all rankings have been reset.

Squad Management

Now, a highly anticipated quality of life improvement: managing your squad from the main menu without having to launch a mission.

Another cool feature is that the game now saves the last equipment used by your characters and automatically loads it the next time they are deployed in a mission.

Saving Replays

Tacticool replays take time to craft.
The good news is you can now save them locally and improve them later, share them with your friends and other players on Discord or simply cherish them :D
