Today we wanted to add a few things to last week’s update, so let’s dig in:
Ragnarok and Nightmare mode
You will now be able to play ERROR realm in all Ragnarok levels and on Nightmare mode to experience new levels of craziness.
Fixes
DLC skins were not supposed to be attached to achievements, and though there were no Steam achievements to complete, there was a bug where achievements appeared on the main game. This has been already fixed.
Winter festival- December
We are currently working on the Winter Event update, which will be similar to the Halloween one, with winter decorations in one of the realms, winter themed relics and a new skin for one of the characters. It will be ready in a couple of weeks!

New ERROR Realm + Dark Knights Support Pack now available!

ERROR – HAZARD
New content now available! Because we’ve been thinking about releasing this hidden boss for a very long time and now it was perfect timing. Actually, we had this boss in mind since Niflheim release or so. So its been a while ago already hehe.
We’ve discovered a few issues in the Norse Realms. We suspect that a secret boss wishes to challenge all survivors. We’ll need your help to defeat him! After conquering all realms in Expert level, a secret new realm awaits you. We can’t grant much information about it, but rumors of an error realm have reached us. We hope you all survive this new challenge! Ragnarok and Nightmare mode will be ready next week!
Dark Knights Support Pack
Since the beginning of the development of this game, many of you have asked for new ways of supporting us. We finally decided to launch this support pack, which will include 5 brand new skins related to the Dark Knight skins we already have.
This pack is COSMETIC ONLY.
Even though we’ve released the 1.0 version of Nordic Ashes, we will still be working on new content like seasonal events, new challenges and more! We appreciate your support very much!

DLC News
As we posted on the roadmap, the DLC was supposed to be released this month. However, it’s going to take some time until we finish developing it, so we decided to postpone its release date around March 2025. In exchange, we will still be posting some cool stuff like the ERROR realm next week, a winter season with new character skin and winter decorations on December, etc. Thanks for your comprehension!

Hello vikings! Today’s post is about a few patches we’ve been releasing this week. We’ve been fixing the following:
Alruna will be less painless to unlock. You will need to reach Talkôr’s chamber before the final boss with at least 1 ice heart, not defeating the boss as it used to be.
Visual bug in the character selection panel, where the selected character could appear behind the others.
Secret characters and their skins were showcased in black. After unlocking them, their skins will now be shown in grey, not black.
After unlocking Lorcan and entering a run, the playable character would be the previous on you had selected.
Halloween weapon Fear Skullcap alpha now works properly.
The explanation on how to unlock the second ascension of Ancestral Relics has been improved.
Small translation fixes in various languages.

We were planning to update with the Halloween event in a couple weeks but then we thought… why wait? So let us introduce the Spooky Season to Nordic Ashes! This event will last from October 4th until November 3rd.
Haunted Realms
In addition to last year’s spooky Midgard, this year you will also be able to play Helheim (if it wasn’t eerie enough lol). Both realms will be decorated in a spooky way and enemies will have ghostly costumes. (You will be able to see what Hel looks like beneath her mask!).
Eerie Blud
This year’s skin will belong to Blud! Just win a run on Helheim using Blut to unlock it. And no worries, as after the event you will still be able to get it.
Themed relics
Spooky themed relics will make an appearance again, we’ve added a new one so there will be a total of 5 relics.
Please notice that themed relics will appear more often than regular ones. On that note, you may disable the Halloween event on the Settings panel if you prefer to play regular runs.

Hello vikings! At last, the day has come… new character is joining ranks!
New character: Lorcan
Let’s welcome Lorcan, master of Luck! Lorcan the Conqueror, Lorcan founder of Lorcanism, Lorcan master of Dice… well, he may be a BIT narcissist. Just a tiny bit. However, he won't show up until you reach Vanaheim.
*** SPOILER ALERT *** If you didn't guess how to unlock Lorcan here is the answer: He's quite fond of himself and loves it when people look up to him. Select Lorcan in the character selection panel and wait for 25 seconds to unlock him.
Luck
Lorcan’s will be introducing Luck to Nordic Ashes.
Luck will determine if abilities based on % can have an extra roll. For example, if an effect would occur with 15% chance and it doesn't, with 1 Luck point you will gain an extra roll of 15% chance and therefore that effect will be more likely to occur.
Obviously, Lorcan will be Luck boosted so probabilities happen more often. Relics affected by luck will have a clover icon next to them.
And of course, don't forget to check Lorcan's skins too!
New Relic: Lucky Clover
This Lucky Clover will be your best friend when related to luck. You may unlock this relic thanks to Lorcan.
New Artifact: Lucky Coin
When used, you will get 1 extra Luck Point temporarily.
New Daily Challenges
10 new kinds of challenges have been added. You will find new Blessings that will boost your runs. We've also imporoved some of the existing challenges so they are more fun.
Yggdrasil
We know many of you had some leaves left that wouldn't fit anywhere. With the addition of Lorcan, more leaves will be generated. To solve this issue, we've added a few new levels to existing perks such as crit. damage, movement speed, etc. A total of 120 new leaves to add to Yggdrasil!
Fixes and improvements
Some curses would make you inflict negative damage and this could break the game. Minimum damage you will now inflict is 1.
The Burden of Greed Curse will now reduce damage by 2.5% for each relic you own instead of 5%
Some shrines could appear on top of you.
Stats appearing on the left side of the screen have been reordered so they fit better on screen.
Odin’s ravens could, in some cases, appear on Odin’s second phase.
Dutch translations updated.
Czech translations updated.
Next steps
On October we will be releasing a new Halloween update. This time Helheim will join Midgard with spooky decorations, both on the realm and on monsters. Halloween weapons will return and a one of the characters will get a new skin. Can you guess who?
We couldn't resist posting Malurt the Moth Queen on her Halloween costume. She looks much nicer this way.

First of all, the definitive edition of the digital artbook has been updated!
You will find KAOS and Unn as an addition to the already existing characters, so all 1.0 release content is included. Further characters, relics or maps won't make an appereance. This means the artbook is now complete and you will be able to enjoy it to its maximum potential. If you already got it, you may re download once again it so have the full version.
Second announcement, new character coming next week!

Hello vikings! After this summer break we’re filled with energy and ready to work on Nordic Ashes once again! As always, we’d like to share our roadmap with you, so everyone knows what to expect and when.
Nordic Ashes new Roadmap
August: Today’s update will be related to fixes and bugs you reported during last month.
September: New character! Because that’s the best way to begin a new development, right?
October: Halloween Festival, which will include a new spooky character skin, decorations for one of the realms (in addition to Midgard) and seasonal relics.
November: Nordic Ashes DLC! More info in the future, but we’re sure you’re gonna love the new ideas we have planned!
December: Winter Festival, which will include a new winter character skin, decorations for one of the realms (in addition to Jotunheim) and seasonal relics.
2025: Console release + more stuff to be revealed :D

Fixes and improvements
In some cases, KAOS wouldn’t show new options if you had banned all the remaining relics.
Skull Staff stopped throwing projectiles in some cases.
Revna’s sprite was appearing flipped when flying to the left.
You could step out of Gnöki’s realm boundaries when dashing in some places.
Sounds were not playing in some Linux versions. This new update should fix that issue.
When M.I.S.S.I.N.G. had Talkôr’s passive, coins were not stacking properly. Now they work just as Talkôr’s do.
Translation improvements: German, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.
Performance improvements.
On Daily Challenges, on Gnöki’s realm, the unexpected visitor (random character) would not be the same for everyone or would provide different relics. All players should now have the same display.

To celebrate Steam’s Summer Fest we decided to brighten up (even more) Vanaheim and turn it into a beach party!
From today until July 15th you’ll be able to play Summer in Vanaheim. This will not change playability, as it will be summer cosmetic skin.
Summer themed relics
Winter event was so much fun and this time of the year is perfect to add some new seasonal relics!
Please notice that themed relics will appear more often than regular ones. On that note, you may disable the Summer event on the Settings panel if you prefer to play regular runs.
Unn’s Fire skin and Golden attire
First of all, let us introduce Unn’s Summer Fest skin: the Fire skin. Win one run in Vanaheim while this event lasts to unlock her forever. If you don’t get the chance during this time frame, don’t worry, as a new requirement will be set so you can get it.
Second, you will now be able to grab Unn’s Golden attire in the Daily challenge shop. We hope you enjoy this one too!

Fixes and improvements
After completing a cycle on Nigthmare mode, projectiles or summons from some relics could be lost.
Some relics would generate a wrong amount of projectiles or summons.
You could spend mastery points on the character’s Innate ability in their Mastery tree, which should be for free.
Translations updated.
