Hi guys, finally we can show something about the upcoming Map Editor update.
At the moment we are stress testing all the system in private, public release date depends on how many bugs/issues will come out during the next few days.
Seems ok right now and probably it will not take long hopefully.
It took lots of time and huge amount of work but we know that will be a really important addition to the game.
First update will include the Map Editor version 1.0, that includes these features,

Pixel Painting
Using the map editor, you can paint custom 100x100 image in pixel art, by using the "Floor" tileset that include 65 different colors palette.

As i said above the first Map Editor update includes more than 250 unique object and will increase in number with the next updates,
in order to improve the map variety possibility.

Sandbox update
New items type "resource" We introduced a new type of items called "resources", this type of items will be used for crafting purpose and other stuff.
"Resource" items will be found both as a classic spawned item, or through harvesting certain objects with tools (pick axe for rocks, axe for wood, knife for herbs and others combo)
For now these items have no real use, they are available only for testing purpose like picknig them up, drop and bring them with you.

New items type "lightsource" As the previous one, testing purpose items, you can pick up and drop where do you want in order to create small camps or lit zone.

MAP EDITOR ?!
Over the last four months we have worked very hard on the Map Editor, that's why we were forced to slow down with the standard update schedule.
We finally reached a good point with the editor and i can announce that the map editor v1.0 update will be available soon.
The first map editor version (v1.0) will include the following features:

Multilayer items placement
Tileset and tiles system
Webserver for saving and sharing maps
online cooperative map editing
Limited gamemode compatibility

SANDBOX TDM - Gamemode description
In this mode, there are two teams (Red and Blue). The team with the highest score at the end of the match is the winner. Match duration is 30 minutes.
Preserve your health and your ammo, scavange for new items and manage your inventory in the best way to win the game.
Remember, every time you get killed, you are giving one point away to the opposite team and vice-versa!
The match lasts 30 minutes in which the two teams will face each other to survive and win the game.
Full Day&Night cycle takes 15 minutes.

Of Guards and Thieves 70.0 Update Preview
Hi guys,
time to announce the next update, that's a huge upgrade for the game, this is why we skipped the last monthly update.
The 70.0 update is just the first step that will bring a huge expansion inside the world of "Of Guards and Thieves".
We are talking about large maps, Sandbox gamemodes, better dedicated servers with up to 60 players, permanent world, inventory, crafting, resource harvesting, permadeath, survival stuff, roleplay gamemode, custom dedicated servers for gaming communities, vehicles, improved gadgets, weapons and characters abilities, clans, dynamic single player sandbox gamemode and lot of others stuff.
One step at a time
To do all this stuff we need to move one step at a time and the 70.0 update is the first move to accomplish these tasks.
Basically the 70.0 update will bring some starting features that represent the core for the next expansions.
70.0 Changelog preview
New Map (1km x 1km) - at least 1/3 playable area

NOTE: stuff like "item drop on death" "limited spawn gear" "random item/character spawn" and the other notes, are referred to the incoming Sandbox gamemodes (Massive TDM - Survival and others)
For obvious reasons these features will be not available in the standard gamemode (GaT, TDM, DE etc.) that will stay with the actual class system with dedicated equipment.
The next steps
After that we are going to improve and expand all the current features, and of course, adding also new content.
More information and detail will be given after the update release.
We are working hard to release it a soon as possible, at the moment we are testing and fixing bugs, stay tuned to know the official release date and thanks to all for your great support!

As the name says, this is an alternative version of the classic CTF.
In this mode, there are two teams (Blue and Red), both have guards classes.
At the start of this game, there will be 4 special "bases" that will be spawned
onto the map. Your home flag location, your capture point, the enemy's flag location and finally the enemy's capture point.
The objective in this mode is to bring the enemy's flag to your capture point while being able to defend your own flag from getting into the enemy's capture point. Learn the four "bases" locations for every map before playing! In this mode, knowledge of the map is essential. Knowing where the enemy is located and being able to quickly move past him via shortcuts can be the difference between winning and losing. It is a good idea to organize your teams into groups such as an attacking group and a defending group.
The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.
Dedicated Server support: in testing
Initial support for dedicated server, not officially released yet cause there is some bug to fix and stuff to improve.
You can still start to test them, at the moment there are four testing Eu-server and three testing US-server (unofficial).

Netcode has been improved, less lag, more fun.
New gamemode gTDM (Guards vs Guards TDM)
As the name says, this is an alternative version of the classic TDM.
In this mode, there are two teams (Red and Blue), both team have the guards classes (Scout/Assault/Medic/Guardian/Carrier).
The first team to get to 20 kills is the winner.
There is a time limit of 5 minutes which means that if neither teams reached a kill count of 20, the higher scorer will win.
Preserve your health and your ammo to be able to maximize your kill count while minimizing the kill count of the opposite team.
Remember, every time you get killed, you are giving one point away to the opposite team and vice-versa!
The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.
*At the moment the gTDM is available only on VR Maps but will be available soon in normal maps too.

New Gamemode: Faceless (SL)
In this new gamemode Humans have to find 4 notes around the map within 5 minutes, without being killed by the Faceless.
Faceless is a very dangerous enemy, can become invisible and suddenly appear behind you.
If you look them in the face too long, you will be wounded to death, be careful and run to survive!
Faceless have to kill the humans before they can pick up the 4 notes.
If time runs out humans lose.
Objectives and rules
Human team:
Collect 4 notes before time runs out.
Faceless team:
Kill all the humans before time runs out.
HINT:
* To collect Notes press the E key when you are close enough.
* Notes are placed randomly in each game, so you should check carefully for them in order to win the game.
* Every Player have different sheets position, everyone has to play for themselves.
* Some times sheets are not easy to spot, make sure to check carefully.
* Check all libraries and shelves!
* Humans do not have weapons to defend themselves, they have only one flashlight, so Faceless can not 'be killed in any way.
* When you meet a Faceless, RUN AWAY!!!
* Faceless can turn invisibility on/off with the Right Mouse Button.
* Faceless can use invisibility only when it is illuminated.
* Faceless can not cause damage or fear when it is invisible.
Balance suggestion: use 4:1 team ratio (4 Humans : 1 Faceless)
