After about two weeks of testing, we have finally updated the 'Ocean' area today!
Over the next week, we will be stabilizing the update build, finishing up some incomplete areas, and then diving right into the development of the next update area, the 'Snowfield' content.

How to go to the Ocean
The Ocean is located in the southwest of the world. You can go to Seashell Village through the apple forest by using the newly opened entrance in the northwest of the Frog Meadow.
Ocean
Baby Ogu learns the new ability 'Swimming' which allows him to travel through water areas that were previously inaccessible. Help the ocean residents and the divine creature to save the endangered ocean and collect new items!

Enjoy the beautiful BGM of the ocean area. The ocean area BGM was also produced by Gimgi, who is responsible for the entire soundtrack of 'Ogu and the Secret Forest'.

Hello! ːsteamhappyː We know you've been waiting, and we're excited to announce that the next area, 'Ocean', will be in mid-October.
Most of the new area contents are developed and currently undergoing internal tests and adjustments. Here are some of the contents that will be added in this Ocean update:
New Area: Ocean
The Ocean is located to the southwest of the world and can be accessed through the Apple Forest, northwest of the Frog Prairie. Baby Ogu needs to assist the Water Deity, Enki, to resolve the strange occurrences in the Ocean.
Additionally, you'll get a more direct glimpse of the evil deity that's putting the world at risk.
The Ocean area consists of various themed maps, from blue seas and sandy beaches to the expansive underwater realm with buried temples. Additionally, with the new 'Swimming' feature, you'll be able to traverse water areas in places you've already visited.
Threats Looming Over the Ocean
The power of the evil god is reaching into the ocean, where the ritual to separate the gods has taken place. Eliminate the holes created throughout the ocean and fend off enemies imbued with the evil god's power.
Swimming
Now, you can traverse through most of the aquatic areas. Including the oceanic region where you learn to swim, you will now be able to access previously unreachable water zones. (Additional content related to swimming areas will continue to be added up until the official launch.)
Totems
You can now use totems, relics imbued with the divine power of the deities. Priests, starting with Kokou, unlock these totem slots, and you can ultimately open up to 4 totem slots.
When you equip a totem, its effects, such as increased critical hit rate or enhanced healing, are automatically activated under various conditions.
Given the divine power within the totems, they are planned to be rewards found deep within each temple or in challenging dungeons.
Clam Digging
In the ocean area, you can dig for clams on the sandy shores. Receive a hoe from a resident of Soragae Village and try collecting clams scattered throughout the sandy beaches.
We'll introduce more about the upcoming ocean area update through Steam announcements step by step until its release.

Tokyo Game Show 2023 Snapshots
Hello! ːsteamhappyː As mentioned in our recent patch notes, we are currently participating in 'Tokyo Game Show 2023'. True to its title as one of the top three game shows in the world, there are a tons of games on display, and a large number of visitors are enjoying the exhibits.
We are taking part in the 'Selected Indie 80' section, a space where 80 games, selected out of roughly 800 entries, are showcased.
From those who haven't yet played 'Ogu and the Secret Forest' to users who have already played more than 20 hours into the game, we had the chance to hear from a diverse range of local visitors.
We'd like to express our gratitude to all our supporters, both online and offline. After returning home, we'll take some time to regroup and then work hard to prepare for the next update.

[Update] Restaurant & Totem

We've been quite busy over the past couple of months for preparing two game shows. Furthermore, we're in the thick of developing for our next game update. The upcoming Water Sector update is set to launch in mid-October, after we attend the Tokyo Game Show and undergo about two weeks of testing.
Also, just today, we rolled out a small update introducing the 'Restaurant' management and parts of the totem system.
Please check out the details below!
Restaurant
You can run the restaurant for a day by selecting four dishes for which you know the recipes. Serving more expensive dishes can earn you more money, but they also take longer to prepare. Customers will get impatient and leave the restaurant if made to wait for too long, so it's crucial to balance your menu appropriately.
Additionally, each restaurant has its regular customers. If you serve dishes that contain ingredients these customers favor, you can receive tips!
In the restaurant, we sell items that can skip the cooking process, and they are also awarded as bonuses at the end of the operation. These will be particularly helpful when making a large number of dishes or when cooking with expensive ingredients.
To operate a restaurant, you'll need a recommendation from the chefs of each restaurant, Olive and Gordon. * If you've previously met Olive and Gordon and completed their quests, you will automatically receive their recommendation upon starting the game. Please take note!
Totem
You can now use the totems imbued with the power of the deities! Equip totems in the four available slots to gain passive effects.
By equipping totems, you can gain additional effects when eating fruits, reduce the cooldown of rolling, and benefit from various other situational bonuses. Totems are intended to be rewards for meeting deities or clearing challenging dungeons.
The totem system will be fully integrated after the Water Region update scheduled for mid-October. With today's update, we've introduced the totem system, allowing players to explore up to two available slots.
Drawing
The process of Baby Ogu drawing a picture diary has been added. By pressing a button, you can see the drawing being completed step by step.
Unlock Maps
A new animation has been added when a region is unlocked by drawing a picture diary.
Update Notice
We've added a notification system to ensure that if previously played content is updated, players won't miss out on the updated content or need to start over from the beginning.
Bug Fixes & Changes
Fixed an issue where maps were not properly displayed in some countries.
The save slot system has been revised. Instead of accessing all save slots while playing, it has been changed to save in each slot individually.
Fixed an issue where players could access the main menu during the Mecha Rat battle.
Resolved an issue where some users were unable to exit the navigation mission after the previous update.

Dev Progress & Game Show

We are currently preparing content for the next area, Ocean, while also getting ready for the 'Restaurant' tycoon update in the harbor town and our participation in a game show.

Restaurant
In the harbor town, you can run both Gordon and Olive restaurants.
The restaurant operation content involves selecting 4 dishes from the cookbook to serve to the customers. Due to varying prices of the menu items, the cooking time differs, so you need to strategize your menu choices. Also, based on the restaurant, customers with different ingredient preferences will show up, so you have to take that into consideration as well. (Some customers will give tips if they get a dish containing their preferred ingredients.)
New Sector: Ocean
The next update will feature the ocean, located to the southwest of the world.
As briefly mentioned by some NPCs in the Harbor Town, the southwest sea used to be bustling with fishing activities. However, since the mysterious holes began appearing, many residents have left the area.
We will provide more detailed information about the ocean region in subsequent development logs.
Game Show
BIC 2023

We are participating in BIC 2023, where we won awards in the casual and jury prize last year! This year, we're exhibiting in a non-competitive category. If you visit our booth, you can get a hands-on demo of three types of content from the upcoming ocean region.

Fixed an issue where it was impossible to escape from certain areas in Harbor Town.
Resolved an issue where you could get stuck in some terrains during the Thunder Island boss battle.
Fixed a problem where you could get stuck in walls in the dungeon maps.

Fixed an issue where the Sun Village Exploding Fruit quest was not proceeding correctly.
Resolved an issue where you could get stuck in the Giant Desert Rhino during the Arena fight.
Fixed an issue where the totem still works even after the Arena battle ends.
Corrected a problem where you could proceed without meeting Kennin after acquiring the paddle.
Fixed an issue where museum visitors appear in Harbor Town even if the museum quest is not completed.
Fixed an issue occurring when using fish attractant at the Thunder Island fishing spot.

New Content
Main Questline
- Embark on an adventure with the sailor 'Kenin' in the largest village, Harbor Town, in "Ogu and the Secret Forest!" - The main quest in Harbor Town consists of various mini-games and content such as infiltration, sailing, dungeons, and bosses.
Drill Hat & Treasure Hunt
- Dig the ground with a drill hat and discover clay of different colors and items in each area. - Acquire a treasure map from the antique shop and restore artifacts in the museum.
Artifact Recovery & Opening the Museum
- Open the museum and welcome visitors! The more exhibits you have, the more visitors you will attract. - Use artifact fragments obtained from treasure hunting to restore artifacts. When you restore artifacts, visitors who give gifts will come to the museum.
Making Pottery
- Learn pottery-making techniques at the pottery workshop in Harbor Town. - Change pottery designs from around the world and deliver them to the residents of Harbor Town.
Underground Arena
- Challenge powerful enemies that embody the characteristics of various regions such as the jungle, desert, and moon forest. - Be especially cautious as your health is limited! - If you fill up the honor score in the arena, you can receive special rewards.
Interior Items
- Use the designer robot, newly added to the hero's house, to change the interior design such as wallpaper, flooring, and lighting. - You can purchase interior items from the merchants in each village.

Jigsaw Puzzle System
- The puzzle-solving method, such as pushing puzzle pieces one by one, like puzzles in the Moon Forest has been changed.
Interior List
- With the increase in interior items, the construction of interior now allows you to view the item list as a menu when selecting items.
Important Keyword Coloring
- Important keywords in the text are highlighted in yellow. The keyword highlighting will gradually expand as updates progress.
Multiple Selection
- When selecting multiple items in cooking, museum exhibitions, and various quests, you can make multiple selections at once.
The restoration of museum artifacts and opponents in the arena will continue to be added to the Harbor Town content in the future.

The new sector, 'Harbor Town' will be updated next Wednesday.
We are currently conducting final testing and wrapping up trailer and banner images, and content will continue to be gradually added even after the update.
The updated contents will include:
Harbor Town & Thunder Island
Harbor Town is located in the southern part of the world, and Early Access users can enter through the southwestern entrance at adventurer's camp.
While Harbor Town doesn't have any sigil, it does have a main questline that is related with other areas. This questline consists of infiltration, mini-games, dungeons, and various other content. Uncover the secrets intertwined with Harbor Town alongside the small sailor, Kenin!
Making Pottery
In the pottery workshop of Harbor Town, you can create pottery. The pottery you make can be customized to your desired shape, and it can also be used to solve quests within the town or change the appearance of pottery placed throughout the world.
Drill Hat & Treasure Map
You can use the newly added "Drill Hat" to excavate items from the ground. Not only can you find clay for pottery making, but you can also purchase a treasure map from the antique shop to discover artifact fragments for restoring museum artifacts.
Restoring Artifact & Opening the Museum
The artifact fragments obtained through treasure hunting are used to restore newly added artifacts in the museum. When an artifact is restored, you will receive immediate rewards or NPC visitors who bring gifts will come to the museum.
In addition, by completing certain quests in the Harbor Town, you can open the museum and welcome visitors. Different visitors will come depending on the items exhibited, and more will be added in the future!
Arena
In the underground of the Harbor Town, there exists an underground arena that values honor and duels. The underground arena is a combat content where the honor score changes based on the player's performance, and it is characterized by playing with limited health depending on the difficulty of each opponent.
Currently, there are a total of 9 challenge opponents themed around the jungle, moon forest, and desert, and they will be updated together with the addition of new sectors
Improvement of Jigsaw Puzzle Mechanics
We have made a change to the gameplay mechanics of the jigsaw puzzle. Instead of pushing individual pieces, we have improved it by implementing a method where players can move the puzzle pieces as if they were placing objects in a home decoration activity.
Interior Change
Players now can change the interior of the hero's house. By replacing interior items, such as flooring, wallpaper, lighting, and particles are changed according to item's themes. These interior items can be purchased from the shops in each village, and additional items will be added as quest rewards in the future.

[Harbor Town] Dev Log 3 & Roadmap Change

We are continuously preparing the content for the Harbor Town update, which is scheduled for late June to early July. The major structure of the update, including the map and main questline, has been fully planned, and we are now adding detailed elements such as side quests and immersive features.

Frog Field
This is a large map that can be explored before entering the Harbor Town. It features several puzzles and side quests to engage with.
Northern Harbor Town
You will encounter a map with a bridge that leads to Harbor Town. You can also spot the headquarters of Soong Soong Express.
Harbor Town
Main Stage of this update, it is the largest and most densely packed map among the ones developed so far, being 1.5 times the size of Sun Village.
As it will encompass various contents such as a pottery workshop, a restaurant, an antique shop, and an arena, we are putting a lot of effort into its creation, aiming to unveil it in the most splendid form possible.
Cargo Ship
This is the place where a covert infiltration mission takes place, requiring you to stealthily steal items.
Arena
This is a challenging location where you have to face tough enemies with limited health. There are three stages prepared for each area, featuring enhanced versions of previously encountered enemies and introducing new enemies with unfamiliar patterns.
Updated Early Access Roadmap
The Early Access roadmap has been updated as follows
The previous development roadmap, which was divided into quarterly milestones, has been revised to be categorized by seasons.
The development order of the Snow region and the Water region has been changed.

[Patch Note] 0.16 - System Improvements and Adding Effects

As we develop the upcoming region of Harbor Town, we have also worked on improving various systems and addressing many of the requests that we have received from our players.
Please see below for more details!
System
The quest tracking method has been changed. Instead of creating arrow signboards at the exits, the target location of the quest being tracked is displayed on the map. (Some quests and hidden quests are not displayed.)
Regardless of whether the quest is being tracked or not, you can check the target location of the quest in the quest window.
When selecting two or more items such as cooking or exhibiting, you can now select multiple items.
The key configuration layout has been modified, and you can assign mouse buttons on PC.
NPCs that give important quests such as becoming friends display a special icon.
Contents
When encountering trash monsters in the field, they are now spawned after a warning effect appears.
The range of the explosion of spore monster is now displayed before it explodes.
The customization area of the hero's house has been expanded to a more circular shape. In a future update for the Harbor Town, there will be an added feature to change the floor texture.
The images of objects blocking the way to areas still under development have been separated from regular rocks.
Additional dialogue has been added for the monkey at the construction site.
The width of the bridge in the ruins has been widened.
The camera glitch in certain parts of the Moon Forest map has been fixed.
The description of the 'Welding Hat' has been corrected.
Bugs
The issue where the quest related to 'Watermelon Chafer' was not properly counting has been resolved.
The recipe for 'Healthy Roasted Prickly Pear' in the adventure diary has been corrected.
Additional dialogue has been added for NPCs who did not have any dialogue after completing their quests.
