Spooktober is here, and Halloween spirit has taken over Gielinor! This year's Halloween event screams "Pumpkin spice and all things SUS"! South Falador is brimming with pumpkins and Jack O'Lanterns, where both new and familiar faces await... but this year, you'll need to make the spooky even spookier. You may also notice some stinking cute details long the way...
Getting Started Here’s what awaits you when starting the Halloween event:
This year, you’ll meet Marika, a lady who loves farming, and hear her story. After losing a loved one who loved cats, she put her Farming skills to good use and created a cat portrait by planting pumpkins as a tribute. But doesn't it look a bit off?
Visit the farm south of Falador to see Marika’s pumpkin portrait for yourself, and help her make it purrfect!
Rewards
As always there are some wicked rewards for you to keep!
First up, you can earn the Scarecrow Shirt to celebrate Halloween in freakin' good style!
This year you’ll also receive a customisable Pumpkin Head, which lets you pick the colour and expression of your choice! Are you an o.O or more of a *w*?
You’ll also unlock a Scarecrow to display at your Player Owned House – and again, you can customise it with the colour and expression of your choice! You can place the Scarecrow anywhere in your POH, just like the Wintumber Tree. The perfect way to welcome your guests to a Halloween shindig!
Lastly, you can also unlock all the rewards from previous Halloween events. Speak to Diango in Draynor to claim them!

Fixed a bug where Huasca Potions (unf) couldn't be stored within Potion Storage or be made via Zahur.
All new items from Varlamore: The Rising Darkness are now useable in Death's Coffer, provided they are tradeable and meet the 10,000 GP minimum value.
Wintertodt & Other Changes
Thousands of you have been huddling around the Wintertodt following its big update last week! We appreciate all the kind words you've shared with us, as well as your valuable feedback.
'Scapers who go for solo Wintertodt have voiced that restoring a Pyromancer is less lucrative after the update, since you only use one potion now. To compensate, we’ve increased the points per Pyromancer healed from 30 up to 75.
Some of you also reported having a hard time telling the difference between your cold hitsplats and those of your Woodcutting comrades. We’ve adjusted some settings so that other people’s cold hitsplats now appear a bit darker than yours, so it should be easy to tell when you’re being hit.
We hope these changes make your Wintertodt journey even better! As always, we'll be keeping an eye on your feedback - so let us know how you find these changes!
We'll begin with a change we know you've been eagerly awaiting: a fix for PvP Arena matchmaking! We’ve adjusted the PvP Arena matchmaking system to ensure that matches occur more frequently, by grouping players into two groups:
Lower ranks consist of Bronze, Iron and Steel, and they'll be matched with each other.
Higher ranks consist of Mithril, Adamant, Rune and Dragon, and they'll also be matched with each other.
We’ve also fixed a bug where your assigned opponent would simply fail to show up to the match. No excuses now!
For context, this was not an easy fix to make. Working with such a complex system took some time. We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologise for the delay. As always, we'll continue monitoring your feedback and can make further improvements if necessary, so let us know how you get on!
Some other notable fixes:
The warning message about placing all your finds in the Varrock Museum crate can now be disabled permanently.
A pop-up chatbox message for house-breaking in Civitas illa Fortis has been replaced with a less intrusive game message that can be spam-filtered.
Superior Slayer Creatures will now consider spawning elsewhere if they cannot spawn in tight spaces due to their size. It should now be drastically more likely to succeed.
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period A:
539 - (US) - PvP World
318 - (UK) - Bounty Hunter World
548 - (Germany) - High-Risk PvP World
577 - (US) - Free-to-Play PvP World
559 - (UK) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using 'Maxed Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Wintertodt Updates & Varlamore: The Rising Darkness Drop Rates | October 9th
PSA: You may have noticed that we've been doing a lot of maintenance recently. While we still have more work to do, thanks to our continued efforts in improving our infrastructure, starting this week and going forward, there will be NO downtime during game updates except for major content launches!
The game will reboot at 11:30am BST as usual, following a 45 minute timer. There will be no downtime, but please allow a minute or two for the servers to reboot and allow you to re-enter the game. The wait is over - the highly anticipated Wintertodt updates are LIVE NOW! We've also got drop rate reveals for Hueycoatl and Amoxliatl along with further Varlamore: The Rising Darkness improvements.
Changelog - October 9th
[expand type=show more]
Wintertodt Updates are Here!
Warmth Meter has replaced Hitpoints as the resource you need to keep topped up. This means that the Wintertodt's basic and special attacks do damage to your Warmth instead of HP.
Two new sets of Sprouting Roots (one on each side) are added to the lobby, which can be used to gather Bruma herbs.
Picking Bruma Herbs in Wintertodt no longer grants Farming XP. The reason for this change is to avoid introducing extremely low-effort, on-demand Farming XP methods.
Added a 'Drink' option to the Rejuvenation potion which will restore 30% of your Warmth per dose, totaling 120% for the full potion, meaning you'll be able to keep yourself topped up indefinitely if you'd like.
To prevent accidental potion-consumption, we've added a left-click 'Help' option to the Pyromancers.
Incorporated various additional sources of regeneration into the Warmth system, such as Heal Other, Redemption, the Regen Bracelet and the Hitpoints cape.
The following items now all count as Warm Clothing:
Wolf Mask
Earmuffs
Cap and Goggles
Woolly Hat
Bobble Hat
Jester Hat
Tri-Jester Hat
Added a slightly longer cooldown on being interrupted by the Wintertodt's basic attacks while fletching your Bruma roots into kindling, so that you'll be guaranteed to fit a few fletches in before being interrupted and not have to deal with a string of interruptions that do little beyond frustrate you.
Converted Supply Crates to the Reward Pile: For every crate you would have earned or every roll you would have gotten (in cases where you might obtain a significant number of points and therefore have a crate with multiple loot rolls), you'll get another search added to the Reward Pile.
You can now track how many rewards you’ve claimed from Wintertodt directly in the Collection Log under the Wintertodt tab.
When you enter Wintertodt, a Warm Clothing indicator message will appear in chat, notifying you if you're below the four-piece Warm Clothing cap.
Futher Varlamore: The Rising Darkness Improvements
Hueycoatl Drop Rates Over the last two weeks, we had the chance to monitor your feedback closely, and now that we have more information, we've tweaked the drop rates for Soiled Pages and Hueycoatl Hide:

Hueycoatl Changes
Aside from the improvements to Hueycoatl drop rates, we've also managed to do some fixes for Varlamore's ancient serpent:
Empty and Charged Tome of Earth versions now share a placeholder in the bank interface, like other tomes do.
Fixed an issue where the personal best time broadcast for killing Hueycoatl wasn't showing in the clan channel.
Players can no longer prevent being kicked down the mountain when the Hueycoatl fight restarts.
Mastering Mixology Changes
We're rebalancing Mastering Mixology to better reflect the time and effort involved. You'll now get bonus points for submitting multiple potions at the same time. Here's how it works:
An extra 20% bonus for submitting 2 potion orders at one go
An extra 40% bonus for submitting 3 potion orders at one go
A new toggle button, 'Always deposit to potion store,' has been added to the bank options view. This toggle has two settings:
Enabled - Potions will always get deposited to the Potion Storage regardless of which tab is open.
Disabled - Potions will be deposited into whichever tab the player has open.
Other changes:
Fixed an issue where the scroll down of the Chugging Barrel wasn't working as intended to view the loadouts at the bottom of the configuration page.
Updated the loadouts interface to show the availability of doses in the Potion Storage. This can be seen by a red circle near the potion, indicating that it is not found neither in Potion Storage nor in the bank.
Goading Potions are now correctly mentioned under the Harralander section of the Gielinor's flora - herbs book.
Fixed an issue where closing the bank with the Potion Storage tab open prevented item deposit elsewhere.
Potion Storage now expands in height correctly when tabs are hidden.
Updated tab style selection to a dropdown input in the options menu.
Reorganized toggle buttons in the options menu for better clarity.
Vials are no longer consumed when withdrawing potions directly to the Chugging Barrel.
Increased the clickbox of the Aga lever to make it easier to interact with.
Colossal Wyrm Agility Course Changes
Based on your feedback , we’ve made the following changes to the Advanced Colossal Wyrm Agility Course to better align with other courses at a similar level:
Increased obstacle XP from 62 to 70.
Increased XP on completion from 325 to 358.
This should increase XP/hr from the Advanced Course from ~40k XP/hr to ~44k XP/hr.
Increased the Termites gained on Advanced Course obstacles, from '8 to 10' to '12 to 15'. For further clarification, please see below.
Miscellaneous Varlamore Changes
Brutal Blue Dragon, Baby Blue Dragon and Blue Dragon in the Ruins of Tapoyauik, are now all consistently weak to fire as intended.
In the Heart of Darkness, we've added a different dialogue to make it clearer when the trial is being reset upon failing to pick the traitor.
Fixed a bug where players were able to teleport to Cam Torum before meeting the requirement.
Fixed a bug where players could finish the Witch's Potion quest with the cauldron on Aldarin.
Fixed a bug where clicking the CKQ code on the Fairy Ring Travel Log wasn't automatically inputting the code.
Other Changes
Mort Myre fungi will now go into an open Reagent Pouch automatically as you pick them from a log in Mort Myre.
Ancient Brews and Menaphite Remedies are now correctly mentioned under the Harralander section of the Gielinor's flora - herbs book.

580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using '1 Def Pure' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Wintertodt Updates are Here!
We're excited to bring the chilling Wintertodt updates into the live game! Lots of you jumped in and helped us test out the new additions through our beta last week, and following your feedback, we're now able to take full advantage of the changes with your live game accounts.
Before diving into the specifics, we'd like draw your attention to a change on logging out inside Wintertodt: Once the update goes live, if you had logged out in the Wintertodt arena, you'll be moved outside to the Doors of Dinh - that is the case if you were on a normal world. For those in a Deadman world, they will be relocated to the nearby bank to ensure their safety. Just a quick heads up!
So wrap up in some Warm clothing and let's take a look at what to expect!
Warmth Meter
As a warm up, let's kick things off with the Warmth Meter. When you hop into the lobby, you’ll spot the new and eagerly-awaited Warmth Meter at the top left, displayed in orange matching your Pyromancer garb. Warmth effectively replaces Hitpoints as the resource you need to keep topped up if you'd like to avoid being frozen into an early grave. This means that the Wintertodt's basic and special attacks do damage to your Warmth instead of HP, but wearing Warm clothing or lighting more braziers will reduce the damage - essentially the same mechanics you’re used to, but with a fresh twist.
You’ll also find two new sets of Sprouting Roots (one on each side), which can be used to gather Bruma herbs and speaking of said herbs, picking these exclusive herbs in Wintertodt no longer grants Farming XP. The previous XP was minimal and the overwhelming majority of players weren't engaging with Rejuvenation Potions in the first place. The reason for this change is to avoid introducing extremely low-effort, on-demand Farming XP methods, helping to maintain consistency with current game mechanics.
Back to Warmth Meter! The key thing to remember is that decreases to Warmth are universal and apply to everybody in the same way. So whether you’ve got 10 Hitpoints or 99, you’ll take the same amount of damage to your Warmth and use the same resources to replenish it. In essence, 100% Warmth is equivalent to 10 Hitpoints before the change but with a little more granularity.
Regeneration
Over Time Just like Hitpoints, Warmth naturally regenerates over time. You'll regenerate 8% Warmth every minute, plus an additional 1% for every piece of Warm clothing you wear. If you notice it randomly jumping up then don't report it as a bug - it's a feature!
Food When it comes to replenishing your Warmth, it is simple and doesn't require a change in behaviour - you can just use food! So long as a piece of food provides at least 4 Hitpoints per bite, such as a Cake, you'll replenish 35% of your Warmth upon eating it. To stick with Cake as an example, each bite restores 35%, totaling 105% Warmth recovered for the entire sweet treat.
Rejuvenation Potion Perhaps you don't want to use conventional food and you're all about self-sufficiency and sustainability. Luckily for you, we've added a 'Drink' option to the Rejuvenation potion (shown above) which will restore 30% of your Warmth per dose, totaling 120% for the full potion, meaning you'll be able to keep yourself topped up indefinitely if you'd like.
We know that swapping the left-click on these Rejuvenation potions could make healing the Pyromancers a bit trickier, and you might accidentally use supplies that could maximise your points. But don’t worry, we've got that covered! To prevent accidental potion-consumption, we've added a left-click 'Help' option to the Pyromancers. If you're not familiar with this, you can actually use Rejuvenation potions to heal the Pyromancers when they've taken damage or have fallen to the floor! With these changes to the potions we might see less players running from the South-East braizer to the South-West one after a Pyromancer goes down and calls for their mummy - especially since you earn points for helping them out!
Also in the screenshot above, you can see the new hitsplats for Warmth damage. This clearly separates them from direct damage to your Hitpoints and should make it crystal clear when you're taking a hit from the bitter cold. We've also popped a Warmth meter just below your usual Hitpoints bar so that you can keep your eyes on the action rather than UI elements at the top left.
Feedback Additions Based on your feedback, we've incorporated various additional sources of regeneration into the Warmth system, such as Heal Other, Redemption, the Regen Bracelet and the Hitpoints cape. This should reduce any disruption to established metas for more experienced players who often make use of these. It's worth noting for Redemption in particular that it might be a little trickier than before to reliably dip below 10% of your Warmth if you're used to using Redemption on an account with high Hitpoints, but it's useable and we have no doubt that you'll figure it out!
Fatal Cold Keep in mind that while the Wintertodt won't be attacking your lifeforce directly, running completely out of Warmth will kill you. Wintertodt remains a dangerous activity, HCIM are not safe here - keep yourself warm or somebody will bury your bones for Prayer XP while the masses laugh at you.
Ring of Life, Defence Cape and Phoenix Necklace can save you though! If your Warmth Meter gets under 10%, then the Ring of Life automatically will activate and save you. Same goes with Defence Cape, if you have activated the Ring of Life effect on it. Likewise, your Warmth dropping below 20% will also trigger Phoenix Necklace's effect to restore Warmth.
Other Wintertodt Changes
Next up, we've got further additions to the CosyScape list! The following items now all count as Warm clothing:
Wolf Mask
Earmuffs
Cap and Goggles
Woolly Hat
Bobble Hat
Jester Hat
Tri-Jester Hat
One extra bit of QoL we've added is a slightly longer cooldown on being interrupted by the Wintertodt's basic attacks while fletching your Bruma roots into kindling, so that you'll be guaranteed to fit a few fletches in before being interrupted, and not have to deal with a string of interruptions that do little beyond frustrate you.
Another change we're making here ties into that point around 'keeping yourself topped up indefinitely'. If you're already familiar with the Wintertodt then this may sound a little counter-intuitive because your Inventory is likely to fill up with Supply crates and hamper your points-earning potential in the next round. Introducing: the Reward Pile!
Gone are the days of Supply Crates bloating out your bank. Instead, for every crate you would have earned or every roll you would have gotten (in cases where you might obtain a significant number of points and therefore have a crate with multiple loot rolls), you'll get another search added to the Reward Pile. It's right next to the bank so that things are kept convenient, and you can even use the 'Big-search' option to loot 5 times at once! This should alleviate bank space issues and make Wintertodt a little more appealing for any Ultimate Irons out there.
Continuing on the topic of rewards; you can now track how many rewards you’ve claimed from Wintertodt directly in the Collection Log under the Wintertodt tab.
Last but not least, when you enter Wintertodt, a Warm Clothing indicator message will appear in chat, notifying you if you're below the four-piece Warm Clothing cap. This should clarify how many pieces of Warm Clothing you're wearing, as what counts as Warm Clothing may not be immediately obvious.
And that's a wrap for Wintertodt changes! Now hop on to Wintertodt and chill!
Further Varlamore: The Rising Darkness Improvements
Drop Rates
It's been two weeks since you began exploring what Varlamore: The Rising Darkness has to offer, which means it's now time to shed some light on the highly-anticipated drop rates! We've got a lot to share with you, so without further ado, let's get into it...
Hueycoatl Drop Rates
Before we start sharing any numbers, we'd like to mention the improvements we made to some of the drop rates from Hueycoatl. Ever since the launch of Varlamore: The Rising Darkness, we had the chance to monitor your feedback closely, and now that we have more information, we've tweaked the drop rates for Soiled Pages and Hueycoatl Hide:
Soiled Page drop rate has been increased slightly and the quantity has been increased from 30 to 80.
Hueycoatl Hide drop rate has been significantly increased and now also drops 2 - 3 instead of 1.
The following drop rates apply after increasing the drop rates for these. For your information, the Base Chance to roll on the uniques table is 1/23, and this is scaled by your contribution and is individual to each player. Items with increased drop rates or quantities as mentioned above will be marked with a * in the table below.
For those of you who want a bit more information, the chance to roll on the unique table is modified by your contribution percentage, i.e. percentage of total damage dealt. For example:
In a solo encounter you'd do 100% of the damage, so your base rate is 1/23.
In a 5 man where all players did equal damage, your drop rate would be 1/5th = 1/115. This caps out at 1/20th of the base drop rate.
Next up, we have the drop rates for the powerful Frost Nagua of The Heart of Darkness, the Amoxliatl:
Glacial Temotli: 1/100
Pendant of Ates: 1/25
Moxi: 1/3000
Wyrm Agility Course
Finally, the Wyrm Agility Course can give you the wonderful Squirrel Pet and here's what you can expect at a base rate:
Basic Course: 1/28,503
Advanced Course: 1/25,406
An extra 20% bonus for submitting 2 potion orders at one go
An extra 40% bonus for submitting 3 potion orders at one go
For example, if you deposit LLL, AAA and MMA at one go, instead of 20/30/20, you'll receive 28/42/28 with the added 40% bonus:
40%x20 = +8M so 28M
40%x30 = +12A so 42A
40%x20 = +8L so 28L
Previously, we announced plans to add a toggle to the Potion Storage interface allowing players to set their potions to deposit into storage by default, even when the interface isn't open. This particular feature is launching today, and thanks for your patience! To clarify, a new toggle button, 'Always deposit to potion store,' has been added to the bank options view. This toggle has two settings:
Enabled - Potions will always get deposited to the Potion Storage regardless of which tab is open.
Disabled - Potions will be deposited into whichever tab the player has open.
We hope you'll enjoy these changes, but as always, let us know your thoughts. Now, for some smaller fixes and changes:
We really appreciate all 'Scapers who have shared their feedback around Mastering Mixology so far. We hope these changes better align with your expectations and we'll continue to keep an eye on your thoughts.
Colossal Wyrm Agility Course Changes
Over the last two weeks, we’ve been closely monitoring your feedback on the XP rates for the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course and have adjusted them to better align with other courses at a similar level. Based on your input, we’ve made the following changes to the Advanced Colossal Wyrm Agility Course:
Increased obstacle XP from 62 to 70.
Increased XP on completion from 325 to 358.
This should increase XP/hr from the Advanced Course from ~40k XP/hr to ~44k XP/hr.
Another concern you've raised with us was that Amylase rates were still too low compared to Ardougne, and this was especially notable for the Advanced Course. To amend this, we've increased the Termites gained on Advanced Course obstacles, from '8 to 10' to '12 to 15'.
To clarify, Basic Course obstacles and obstacles shared between both courses retain a Termite quantity between 8 to 10, so if you receive Termites on those obstacles you will receive that amount. However, any Termites received on an Advanced Course obstacle will be between the new 12 to 15 value, meaning you should see a noticeable increase to Termites gained when repeatedly doing the Advanced Course.
We hope these two buffs bring the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course more in line with your feedback. We'll pay close attention to your thoughts, so let us know what you think!
Ancient Brews and Menaphite Remedies are now correctly mentioned under the Dwarf Weed section of the Gielinor's flora - herbs book.
PvP World Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period B:
560 - (UK) - PvP World
319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World
579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World
561 - (UK) - Free-to-Play PvP World
580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using '1 Def Pure' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week. You can also discuss this update on the 2007Scape subreddit, the Steam forums, or the community-led OSRS Discord in the #gameupdate channel. Varlamore: The Rising Darkness Changes | October 2nd
The Week One adjustments for Varlamore: The Rising Darkness are here!
Changelog - October 2nd
[expand type=show more]
Varlamore: The Rising Darkness
Mastering Mixology Changes
In case you missed it: We released an additional hotfix to the potion hand-ins here so that you're able to hand in multiple potions, but any potion hand-in will refresh all three offers.
Renamed the Pre-pot Device to Chugging Barrel.
Rebalanced the level requirements, points, XP given and order rarities for potions, as well as the Points costs for various rewards, as detailed later in the blog.
Adjusted Digweed spawn rates so they scale with your Herblore level.
Raised the cap of 300 for Mox, Aga and Lye paste up to 3,000.
Reduced the wander range of Supervisor Lalo so that he stops getting in the way of the bank chest.
Ensured that the Chugging Barrel functions at the Theatre of Blood, Nex and Mastering Mixology banks.
Following Secondaries can now be used with the Reagent Pouch:
Jangerberries
Lilies of the sand
Ashes
Silver dust
Kebbit teeth dust
Nail beast nails
Poison ivy berries
Gorak claw powder
Prevented UIMs from buying Potion Storage.
Alchemist's Outfit can now be stored in the POH Costume Room.
Made an improvement and some fixes for Alchemist's Amulet:
Increased the max amount of charges Alchemist's Amulet holds from 250 to 5000.
Fix a bug where the number of charges doesn't always match the number of amulets.
Fixed a bug where Blighted Super Restores, Extended Anti-venom+ and unfinished 'blood' potions weren't working correctly with Potion Storage.
Fixed a bug where Extended Anti-venom+ potions weren't working correctly with the Chugging Barrel.
Hueycoatl Changes
In case you missed it - last Friday, we've improved Hueycoatl's loot table:
Roughly doubled the quantity of all non-unique loot.
Soiled pages were removed from the unique table and added to regular rolls. The chances of receiving pages are drastically increased, while the chance of a unique has also slightly increased.
Removed some of the low-tier loot: Guam seeds, irit seeds, feathers, watermelon seeds, pineapple seeds and lobsters.
Swapped Unfinished Runite Bolts for Adamant since they are more useful.
Added some new drops such as Limpwurt roots and a variety of some but not all herb seeds.
Many of you pointed out that tailing your enemy was a bit too literal during the Hueycoatl fight, due to a bug allowing players to attack its tail from the arena entrance. Oops! To remedy this, we’ve adjusted blocking to prevent ranged attacks on Hueycoatl’s tail from the East side.
The penalty for players who skip Phase 1 during the Hueycoatl fight, resulting in a significant reduction to their contribution value, has been increased further.
Colossal Wyrm Agility Course Changes
Halved the cost of Amylase packs, reducing it from 200 Termites to 100 Termites. This significantly increases the Amylase per hour obtained and puts it above similar courses in the level range.
Increased the 'value' of Termites so they’re less likely to be accidentally dropped.
Colossal Wyrm Agility section now turns green upon completion in the Collection Log.
Varlamorean Graceful Outfit can now be stored in the POH Costume Room.
Using the Varlamorean Graceful Cape on Osten now allows the player to revert it to standard Graceful.
Other Varlamore Changes
Added S.T.A.S.H. units that were missing from three new Treasure Trail steps at the Twilight Temple, and where the River Ortus meets the Proudspire.
Costume Needle now correctly works with Xerician Fabric and also provides thread for crafting with Bark as expected.
Adjusted the Frost Crabs loot table to make it a little more thematically fitting.
Butler's Tray is now two-handed.
Fixed a bug where Dizana's Quiver could be used to smuggle items in or out of the restricted areas that use the item holding system.
Other Changes
The following items can now be sacrificed at the Death's Coffer since their prices have settled:
Noxious halberd
Amulet of rancour
Aranea boots
Araxyte venom sack
Spider Cave Teleport Scroll
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period A:
539 - (US) - PvP World
318 - (UK) - Bounty Hunter World
548 - (Germany) - High-Risk PvP World

Varlamore: The Rising Darkness Changes
Since last week's release, we've been thrilled to see so many of you eagerly exploring all that Varlamore: The Rising Darkness has to offer. During this time, you've journeyed through the lush landscapes of Aldarin, indulged in the mesmerising tunes of a new realm, mastered lost arts of potion-making, confronted foes born of darkness and more!
Now that the first week of the release is behind us, it's time to finetune the content and make improvements. Before we get into what we're changing this week, we want to thank all of you for your enthusiasm and for sharing your valuable feedback! Following the points you've raised, this week we want to make a handful of feedback changes and fixes to enhance your gameplay experience across the vast lands of Varlamore. Without further ado, let's see what's changed!
Mastering Mixology Changes
We'll start with an 'in case you missed it', because it's an important one! On Friday afternoon, we released an additional hotfix to the potion hand-ins here so that you're able to hand in multiple potions, but any potion hand-in will refresh all three offers. We think this captures the best of both worlds for improving the overall flow and feel of the activity, while still allowing you to single out orders offering Lye points if you'd like. We'll be chatting more long-term about the Reward Points system, but we think this is the best option available in the short-term.
Now, on to this week's changes!
First off, those of you who requested a more immersive name for the Pre-pot Device will be pleased to hear that we've renamed it to Chugging Barrel!
Secondly, we've seen many of you requesting a rebalance regarding the level requirements and XP given for potions, as well as points and costs for rewards. Some of you feel that the highest level potion requirement being 86 is a bit steep, and the balance of each reagent is also weighted in favour of higher levels. To address this, we've adjusted level requirements and rescaled potion unlocks every 3 levels instead of 4, with a better mix of the three reagents across the levels. With this in mind, we've also adjusted the points, XP and order rarities to ensure smooth progression. The overall result of these changes shouldn't impact XP/hr. Points/hr will be impacted, but we've adjusted reward costs to counter this. Full details for all the changes for potions can be found below:
Here's a breakdown of the Points cost rebalance for Mastering Mixology rewards:
Furthermore, for those of you who intend to do the activity for an extended period of time, we've also raised the cap of 300 for Mox, Aga and Lye paste up to 3,000.
Here's a list of all the other improvements we've made to Mastering Mixology with this week's game update:
Adjusted Digweed spawn rates so they scale with your Herblore level.
Reduced the wander range of Supervisor Lalo so that he stops getting in the way of the bank chest.
Ensured that the Chugging Barrel functions at the Theatre of Blood, Nex and Mastering Mixology banks.
Following Secondaries can now be used with the Reagent Pouch:
Jangerberries
Lilies of the sand
Ashes
Silver dust
Kebbit teeth dust
Nail beast nails
Poison ivy berries
Gorak claw powder
Prevented UIMs from buying Potion Storage, since they can't use it.
In case you missed it or just want a recap, here are the rest of the highlights from the Mastering Mixology fixes we carried out late last week:
Players now only receive orders that they have the Herblore requirement for, meaning you won't need to force a refresh.
Doubled the frequency of Digweed spawns and fixed a bug where Digweed isn't spawning in the North-West corner.
Increased the duration for Digweed once it's spawned from 6 seconds to 20 seconds.
Added an extra tick of leniency to the Agitator's 'reaction' click when homogenising potions.
Adjusted Reagent Pouch so that players can only withdraw from it in banks. We'll look to whitelist other locations for this in the future, since it has neat applications for multi-skilling, but it shouldn't be the case that players can significantly increase their supply of potions in certain PvM scenarios.
Fixed a bug where the focused version of the Prescription Goggles weren't working.
Depositing worn items while the Potion Storage interface is open no longer drops your gear to the floor.
Fixed a bug where depositing Grimy Huascas into the bank via a herb bag were changing them to Torstols.
Hueycoatl Changes
Again, we'll start with a 'to keep you updated' for a standout hotfix we implemented last Friday. One of the key pieces of feedback regarding Hueycoatl was that its drop table felt a bit underwhelming. Based on your feedback, we improved Hueycoatl's loot, and here's a breakdown of the changes:
Roughly doubled the quantity of all non-unique loot.
Soiled pages were removed from the unique table and added to regular rolls. The chances of receiving pages are drastically increased, while the chance of a unique has also slightly increased.
Removed some of the low-tier loot: Guam seeds, irit seeds, feathers, watermelon seeds, pineapple seeds and lobsters.
Swapped Unfinished Runite Bolts for Adamant since they are more useful.
Added some new drops such as Limpwurt roots and a variety of some but not all herb seeds.
Ok, back to this week!
Here are some other feedback changes and fixes we've done for Hueycoatl last week:
We tweaked Prayer Pillar mechanic to remain active during the tail phase, giving you a little more to interact with and also not overly punishing you if this phase starts before you've triggered the pillars' damage buff.
Group Iron Men won't lose their prestige for kills with players outside of their group.
We've added messaging to let you know when your contribution is too low to obtain loot.
We hope all these adjustments improve your gameplay experience with Hueycoatl. We'll be monitoring your feedback closely and are open to making further changes in the coming weeks, including tweaks to uniques. So make sure to let us know what you think!
Colossal Wyrm Agility Course Changes
It was great to see so many of you eager to take part in the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course, as well as enjoying the Varlamorean Graceful Transmog and Bone Squirrel Transmog! However, we heard some of you expected a more generous Amylase gain from the course, and we totally get that. In response to your input, we've halved the cost of Amylase packs, reducing it from 200 Termites to 100 Termites. This significantly increases the Amylase per hour obtained and puts it above similar courses in the level range. Plus, we've increased the 'value' of Termites so they’re less likely to be accidentally dropped.
The rest of this week's fixes for the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course are as follows:
Colossal Wyrm Agility section now turns green upon completion in the Collection Log.
Varlamorean Graceful Outfit can now be stored in the POH Costume Room.
Using the Varlamorean Graceful Cape on Osten now allows the player to revert it to standard Graceful.
Aside from these, here's a refresher for last week's changes:
Varlamorean Graceful Cape no longer reverts to default colours after unequipping.
The Colossal Wyrm Teleport now gets unlocked again in the Collection Log after being bought.
The Colossal Wyrm Teleport Scrolls requirement works as expected again: They can only be used if the player had visited Varlamore before.
Here are some other fixes we rolled out last week:
Items with a value of 100,000 or more are no longer allowed in the Aldarin nest unless they are one of the whitelisted items.
Fixed a bug where the River Ortus medium Emote Clue and Twilight Temple Hard Emote Clue were not being completed.
Frost Nagua that spawn during the door puzzle will no longer respawn after being killed.
Aldarin Fairy Ring requirement works as expected again: It can only be used if the player had visited Varlamore before.
Fixed a bug where you could be kicked out of Villa Lucens when stood in some areas.
Using watering cans on the Farming Guild fountains now works again as expected.
We'll keep on keep an eye on your feedback and make further improvements if need be, especially paying close attention to the Hueycoatl fight itself. Please continue to share your thoughts with us so that we can keep shaping the experience together!

The time has come to venture even further into Varlamore, as The Rising Darkness is here!
If you haven’t yet set foot in the Shining Kingdom, don’t forget you’ll need to complete Children of the Sun before you can travel there.
We gave you the full rundown in our Summer Summit blog, so make sure to check that out for the full details. Or, take a peek at this video by creator Josh Isn't.
https://youtu.be/4LadjV6G9T4 If you can’t view the video above, click here to watch it!
New Areas
An updated map of Varlamore! Note the greyed-out portions, which are part of GentleTractor’s original map and are not included in The Rising Darkness. If you can’t view the image above, click here.
Today’s update opens up two new areas of Varlamore – the snowy mountains, and the island paradise of Aldarin.
On Darkfrost Mountain, you’ll encounter the Hueycoatl, an ancient monster which has started causing chaos for unwary travellers in the region. A little further east you’ll spot the Proudspire, the mysterious Tower of Ascension and the sprawling Twilight Temple – all sites of great importance to the Varlamorians, but especially for the shadowy Twilight Emissaries...
Meanwhile, on the island of Aldarin, you’ll be able to sample their famous vineyards and have a go at some mixology of your own. Grapes produced here are destined for the Moonrise Brewery and Winery, which produces fine wines for Varlamore’s fanciest drinkers. Nearby, you’ll find the Alchemical Society, who could use your help brewing up potions. Oh, and while you’re here, don’t forget to kick back and enjoy a bit of drama – we hear there’s to be a very exciting play at the Amphitheatre on the eastern coast...
In both areas you’ll find plenty of things to do. People to talk to, Mining, Fishing, Hunter and Smithing nodes to train at, shops and vendors to trade with, and even a brand-new portal location for your Player-Owned House.
The Heart of Darkness
In this thrilling follow-up to Twilight’s Promise, you’ll be investigating the mysterious cult behind the attempt on Teokan Servius’ life. It begins right where we left off, at the Teomat.
While investigating, you’ll be able to explore the new areas and enjoy a new Slayer cave and mini boss.
Quest Requirements:
55 Mining
48 Thieving
48 Slayer
46 Agility
Completed Twilight's Promise
We recommend a Combat level of at least 65. Don’t forget your gear!
Rewards:
2 Quest Points
8,000 Mining XP
8,000 Thieving XP
8,000 Slayer XP
8,000 Agility XP
Access to a new Slayer Dungeon
New Slayer Dungeon
Completing The Heart of Darkness unlocks a new Slayer dungeon containing a range of creatures. Most of these are existing foes, but the dungeon also introduces frost nagua. Frost nagua can be fought as part of the existing Lesser Nagua Slayer Task. Killing them gives you a chance to obtain the new Glacial Temotli weapons along with a useful item to help you get around Varlamore. In addition, the dungeon also includes a demi-boss variant of the frost nagua with an improved loot table!
Tales of the Sun
Alongside The Heart of Darkness, we also have some new Tales of the Sun for you to enjoy. These standalone quests are found all across Varlamore. We’re only going to talk about one today – the rest you’ll have to find for yourselves!
Death on the Isle
Everything you could want from a murder mystery - disguises, deception, and deductions galore! We're a spoiler-free zone so don't expect us to give any more away, but we will help you get prepped by breaking down what's needed to get started.
The quest begins in Aldarin, where you’ll find a stressed-looking gentleman outside one of the fancier villas.
Quest Requirements:
34 Thieving
32 Agility
Completed Children of the Sun
We recommend a Combat level of at least 40
Rewards:
2 Quest Points
10,000 Thieving XP
7,500 Agility XP
5,000 Crafting XP
Ability to use a Costume Needle - A new needle that doesn't require thread to use.
The Darkfrost Mountain trembles as legend becomes truth: the great and terrible Hueycoatl has awoken!
Team up with your fellow adventurers and take on this ancient serpent. We broke down the gameplay and rewards in-depth in the Summer Summit blog, but here's a really quick overview:
Gameplay
Join the Dwarven Party and make your way up the Darkfrost mountain.
Attack the parts of the Hueycoatl sticking out from the rock, while avoiding hazards. Don’t forget your protection Prayers!
When the Hueycoatl moves, climb to the top of the mountain and attack the head.
If the Hueycoatl uses its tail to defend itself, shatter it so you can resume the fight!
Deal damage to the head until the Hueycoatl is defeated.
Rewards
For your efforts, you'll be rewarded with a number of powerful items. All of these are tradeable, so feel free to use them for yourself or sell them on for a quick bit of extra GP. Remember, further details can be found in the Summer Summit blog!
Tome of Earth
Dragon Hunter Wand
Hueycoatl Hide Armour
Huasca Seed, which you can use to grow the herb and make a Prayer Regeneration Potion.
Discover a fresh approach to potion-making with this brand new Herblore activity. The Varlamorian Alchemists need a helping hand keeping up with demand, and there are plenty of rewards for your assistance.
Once again, the full details can be found in our Summer Summit Blog, but here's a quick rundown:
Gameplay
There's no need for secondary ingredients here, so you'll only need to stock up on herbs.
Take unnoted herbs from the convenient Bank Chest and use them on the nearby refiner.
Refining herbs will give you Mox, Aga or Lye Paste depending on the herb type. You'll need all three pastes to consistently satisfy potion orders.
You can store up to 300 Mox, Aga and Lye reagents in the hopper, with any excess Paste able to be stored in the Bank until you need it.
You'll see three Potion Orders to choose from and an indicator for whether the end result needs to be Concentrated, Crystallised or Homogenous. Don't worry, there are convenient Lab notes nearby to tell you exactly what goes into each potion.
To mix your potion, use the levers on the mixing table to fill up the mixing vessel.
Grab the unfinished potion from the mixing vessel and either concentrate, crystallise or homogenise it at the corresponding machine to finish it off.
Place your final potion on the conveyor belt to finish off your order and receive points depending on how much Mox, Aga or Lye was used to make it. These points can be used to purchase rewards, so you can always target orders that use more of the reagents you need more points for.
Rewards
For varying quantities of Mox, Aga and Lye points, you'll be able to snag a whole host of Herblore rewards!
Potion Packs (untradeable, rewards tradeable potions), three varieties to choose from:
Apprentice - requires Level 60 Herblore
Adept - requires Level 70 Herblore
Expert - requires Level 85 Herblore
Aldarium (Tradeable), which can be used to make Goading Potions
Worm Tongue, an anteater (stick with us, it's relevant), has been appointed by the Museum to lead a preservation effort and save the remains of this majestic Colossal Wyrm from a rampant termite infestation. While Worm Tongue used to be pretty adept at catching termites (on account of being an anteater), his age is catching up to him. He needs your help to preserve this ancient landmark... and supply him with snacks!
Gameplay
There are two routes to choose from:
Basic route for players with 50 Agility
Advanced route for players above 62 Agility
You'll receive slightly lower Agility XP than other training options due to its low intensity, however you'll have the chance to earn some unique rewards.
To earn rewards, bring Worm Tongue every termite you can find. As you run your laps of the course, there's a chance for termites to appear on some obstacles. These are automatically picked up and stack in your Inventory.
Rewards
The simplest rewards are Amylase Packs and the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course teleport – both of which do exactly what they say on the tin.
Gather up enough termites and you can turn them in for a Graceful recolour that adds some Varlamorian flair to its base appearance. If you look closely, you'll notice some regal hints of deep blues and yellows, and also that your midriff is entirely exposed! You know what they say, if you've got it, flaunt it, but perhaps don't try wearing this in the Colosseum.
Bone Squirrel. Need we say more? This creepy critter is the perfect companion for your boney adventures.
That’s all you need to know to get stuck into Varlamore: The Rising Darkness. If you want to know more, you’ll just have to do some exploring yourself...
Araxxor Changes
Last week, we rolled out Combat Achievements for Araxxor. It was great to see that so many of you enjoyed the new approach to speedrun tasks, where RNG smooths out over several kills. Your feedback is crucial in helping us shape the game together, so thanks for sharing your thoughts! You also had a few more suggestions, and we’re putting those into action this week.
Our creative community never fails to impress with their brilliant ideas. One such gem was the suggestion to rename the 'Relaxed Gamer' task to 'Relaxxor', which we just couldn’t resist. Check the Combat Achievements menu to see the new name in all its glory!
Other Changes
Adjusted the Inquisitor Armour's Damage and Accuracy bonus to Crush. Now, each Inquisitor Armour piece (Plateskirt, Helmet, Hauberk) gives +2.5% Crush Accuracy and Damage when used alongside the Inquisitor's Mace, regardless of set effects. We know you've been waiting a long time for this one and we're sorry for the delay. The initial implementation and delay in fixing are both the result of internal miscommunications that we're working to improve. Now get out there and crush to your heart's content!
Ever wished that run mode would automatically be enabled as soon as you regain some Run Energy? We hope so, because that’s what we’ve implemented with ‘Always On’ run mode! In the settings menu, you can now set a threshold at which run mode is automatically re-enabled. For example, if you set it to 20, when your character's energy runs out and starts walking, your character will automatically start running again once their energy restores to 20.
The Quest Journal will now remain open when moving around and will also resize on larger screen sizes.
You will now get a warning when dropping items in the Giants' Foundry during the Sleeping Giants quest.
The flames on the Leagues IV: Trailblazer Reloaded trophies are now animated.
Bridge Guard no longer spots the player at the safe spot near the north-western bridge during the Stealing Artifacts minigame.
Farmers at Farming Patches throughout Gielinor now have a standard trade interface, instead of a cumbersome dialogue menu.
Reduced the aggression radius of ancient wyverns.
Making Ultracompost now gives token Farming XP.
The S.T.A.S.H. unit at the top of the Watchtower can once again be used for storage before the quest is complete. This does not affect the quest requirement for the clue.

PSA: There will be no game update next week as the team is preparing for the launch of Varlamore: The Rising Darkness. Araxxor Combat Achievements are here, bringing with them more Araxxor tweaks, Poll 82 updates, and the long-awaited Crystal Shard rates buff!
Changelog - September 11th
[expand type=show more]
Araxxor
Araxxor Combat Achievements have arrived!
As we launch Araxxor's Combat Achievements and following the self-damage reduction we put in last week, we are resetting the global times for Araxxor.
During the enrage phase, Araxxor can now hit himself if the player is standing on any of the underneath tiles, rather than only SW.
Nid and Rax pets no longer share the same Bank placeholder.
Some players were still finding themselves stuck underneath Araxxor’s body after killing him, so a new safety measure will automatically push players out of his hitbox.
The Ring of Recoil can now be used to kill Araxyte inside the Easter Egg cave, so accounts unable to equip the Noxious Halberd are now able to get the Rancour recolour. However, you can only progress past this point if you have a Noxious Halberd in your Inventory. Not having the halberd will result in being teleported back to the start of the cave.
On DMM worlds, skulled players can no longer enter the Araxxor arena.
Poll 82 Updates
The Zerker bracket’s Defence level has been adjusted to 50 in Last Man Standing.
Perilous Moons sets have been added to the Zerker bracket in Last Man Standing and will drop as a full set, weapons and armours together.
Blighted Supplies can now be used in Clan Wars, Soul Wars and Castle Wars.
Bounty Hunter rewards also can now be used in Clan Wars, Soul Wars and Castle Wars.
Crystal Shard Rates Buff
We’ve reviewed all the Crystal Shard resources and implemented some notable buffs!
Other Changes
Wyrms are once again visible in the Slayer Log.
Replanted some missing tree trunks in the Kharazi jungle.
Restored Alina's missing jaw.
Fixed a bug where live Implings could be indirectly traded via Imp Defenders releasing them.
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period B:
560 - (UK) - PvP World
319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World
579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World
561 - (UK) - Free-to-Play PvP World
580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using 'Zerker' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Araxxor Combat Achievements
Now that you’ve settled in with your arachnid pal, it’s time to take on some Combat Achievements!
We know there’s been some concern about last week’s debuff to Araxxor’s self-damage, and how this would affect Combat Achievements. Before we get started, we want to assure you that the Achievements were balanced around not using the step-under method, so this change shouldn’t affect them. We’ll be monitoring your feedback closely over time just in case there are changes to be made.
We’ve also heard your frustrations regarding RNG resets in speedrun tasks, so this time we’re trying something new. Our new approach encourages steady, repeated quick kills within a set time frame, rather than relying on a single lucky attempt. For example, instead of "Kill Araxxor in X minutes" which was the previous approach, we're now going with "Kill Araxxor 4 times in 10:00". This way, RNG balances out over multiple kills. Let us know how you get on!

Other Araxxor Fixes
Last week, you let us know that you really liked Araxxor's self-damage mechanic, but requested that it work on any tile underneath the boss and not just the South West corner. We’ve now made this change, so Araxxor had better watch where those eight limbs of his are flying from now on.
Following the changes to self-damage and the addition of Combat Achievements, we’re resetting the global times for Araxxor.
Here are a few smaller changes we've made:
Fixed a bug where players could kill Araxxor without a Slayer task.
We’d also like to address a couple of points of feedback from last week:
Level 96 araxytes not spawning superiors: We aren't looking to change this as we think there's a good trade-off between killing the two types of araxytes, one for quick XP and points/hr, and the other for better XP/task and a chance for Slayer superior uniques.
Araxxor overhangs his hitbox in some areas, while other areas of the hitbox feel too big: We can’t prevent certain parts of an NPC model from being clicked on, so our only option would be to shrink Araxxor by 30% to make him never come outside of his bounding box during animations. This would make Araxxor really small, and so unfortunately, it can’t be changed.
Why are the araxyte Tasks counted as spider Tasks?: When we first pitched araxyte Tasks, players were clear that they wanted them to count as spider Tasks, so we made that change before launch.
Issues with Coagulated Venom: Some players weren't able to obtain the Coagulated Venom as the timer included the time taken to loot Araxxor. This issue is now resolved but some players would like to have the venom retroactively given to them. Due to various complications in doing this, players will have to reachieve the 1:15 time to get the reward. We'd like to highlight that this task wasn't balanced around the recently discovered (and subsequently changed) step-under method.
Poll 82 Updates
We're continuing to roll out more updates from Poll 82: Minigame Makeover, with a particular focus on PvP this week.
Let's start with Last Man Standing! During the Poll 82 proposal, many of you requested that the Zerker bracket be adjusted to 50 Defence up from 45. While we were making this change, we took the opportunity to add Perilous Moons armour to the bracket, which will drop as a set including the weapons to ensure players can make full use of it.
Meanwhile, Blighted Supplies and Bounty Hunter Rewards can now be used in Clan Wars, Soul Wars, and Castle Wars, just as they were polled.
Crystal Shard Rates Buff
Some of you may remember our blog about Shooting Star changes, where we mentioned our plans to boost Crystal Shard gains from existing sources. Since then we’ve had a whirlwind of launches and updates which has delayed our progress on this front. Today, we’re happy to announce that Crystal Shards are now much easier to farm. Thank you for your patience – here’s what’s changed:
Crystal Acorn: Quantity is now 28-32 shards, up from 14-16. Rate is unchanged.
Superior Slayer Creatures: Quantity is now 6-10 shards, up from 1. Rate is unchanged.
Regular Gauntlet: Quantity is now 5-9 shards, up from 3-7. Rate is unchanged.
Corrupted Gauntlet: Quantity is now 7-12 shards, up from 5-9. Rate is unchanged.
Zalcano: Both the quantity and rate are unchanged.
Agility Course Portals: Quantity is unchanged. Rate is improved from 1 in 3 to 1 in 1, meaning you'll always receive a Shard.
Crystal Chest: Buffed the quantity of Acorns to 4-6 and quantity of Shards by ~50%. This means you'll obtain more Shards on average and obtain more Acorns overall, which will lead to significantly more Shards if you plant them - especially with Acorns also giving more Shards than they used to.
Slayer Dungeon: Quantity is now 3-5 Shards, up from 1. Rate is unchanged.
Pickpocketing: Both the quantity and rate are unchanged.
Mining: Quantity is unchanged. Rate is improved to 1/65 from 1/127.
Crystal Impling: Quantity is now 30-40 Shards, up from 5-10. You’ll get ~2 Shards on average per impling. Rate is unchanged.
Woodcutting: Quantity is unchanged. Rate is improved to 1/40 from 1/80.
Other Changes
Wyrms are once again visible in the Slayer Log.
Replanted some missing tree trunks in the Kharazi jungle.
Restored Alina's missing jaw.
Fixed a bug where live Implings could be indirectly traded via Imp Defenders releasing them.

This week we have more Poll 82 updates plus some Araxxor bug fixes.
Changelog September 4th
[expand type=show more] Araxxor
Reduced the 'self-damage' from stepping under Araxxor during his enrage phase from 30 to 10.
Extended Anti-Venom+ is now prioritised when using the cure option for poison and venom.
The kill time required to drop the Coagulated Venom no longer takes the time between the kill and looting into account.
Araxxor's body will now push you away if you're standing on him during the death animation.
Extended Anti-Venom+ has been recoloured to set it apart from other Anti-Venom potions.
Players with Rax stored in their Player Owned House will no longer be able to reclaim another Nid from Probita.
Added an additional audio cue for Araxxor's charged venom spit attack to help differentiate it from his basic attack.
Death Charge now correctly restores Special Attack Energy when killing Araxxor himself.
Rune Platelegs and Rune Kiteshield drops have been made noted to alleviate Inventory pressure on longer trips.
Prayer Potion supply drops now always drop as a single 4-dose potion instead of a couple of 2-dose potions.
Added Spiders back to the Gauntlet after a temporary time-out for phasing in and out of visibility.
Putting the Soulreaper Axe into the Bank with stacks on the weapon and logging out now causes the stack to start decrementing.
Further Poll 82 Updates
When taking up a new Mahogany Homes Contract, you can now select "Last-tier contract", for a Contract of the same tier as your previous selection, skipping the tier-selection dialogue. You can use the "Contract" option to choose another tier.
You'll now automatically drink your Cup of Tea at the end of a Mahogany Homes Contract.
In Trouble Brewing, Bottles of Rum now award 10 Pieces of Eight.
You will no longer have to find your way through a bog using a stick in Temple Trekking.
Other Changes
Expeditious bracelet now ensures players will receive the correct Slayer Points when used in Partner Slayer.
You're no longer able to gain XP by using magic spells on the pillars in the Path of Scarabas. Cheeky!
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period A:
539 - (US) - PvP World
318 - (UK) - Bounty Hunter World
548 - (Germany) - High-Risk PvP World
577 - (US) - Free-to-Play PvP World
559 - (UK) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using 'Max/Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Araxxor
You've already been racking up your kill counts with the latest Slayer boss to creepy-crawl his way into Old School, and some players have gone as far as to create some unreasonably cute fanart for our favourite arachnid!
Cherrycake's Catraxxor is honestly too cute to handle, while OceanBytes has given the creepy crawly a truly retro feel.
Some less welcome bugs made themselves known last week, and last week we put out a handful of hotfixes to remedy them.
This week, we have some more improvements:
Top of the list, Araxxor will now helpfully push players away during his agonised death throes instead of letting them stand awkwardly on his corpse. In another bug fix, the kill time required to drop the Coagulated Venom will no longer take the time between the kill and looting into account.
It's going to be easier to grab your bottle of Extended Anti-Venom+ in a hurry as we've given it a more distinctive recolour. Plus, the Extended Anti-Venom+ will now be prioritised when using the cure option for poison or venom by clicking on your Hitpoints orb.
It didn't take long for you talented folks to discover some seriously cool tech to speed up your kills! Players discovered that you could get Araxxor to do significant damage to himself during his enrage phase with some well-timed 'step-unders'. We're all for ingenuity, however we do think the damage output was perhaps a little on the extreme side. Consequently, we’re reducing it down to 10 as opposed to 30. An extra 10 damage every 4 ticks is still a significant boost, so we hope it still feels worth doing without being so significant that it feels mandatory.
Here are a handful of extra changes we've made:
Death Charge now correctly restores Special Attack Energy when killing Araxxor himself.
Rune Platelegs and Rune Kiteshield drops have been made noted to alleviate some inventory pressure on longer trips.
Prayer Potion supply drops now always drop as a single 4-dose potion instead of 1-2 2-dose potions.
Spiders have been welcomed back to the Gauntlet, after a temporary time-out as punishment for phasing in and out of visibility.
Players with Rax in their Player Owned House will no longer be able to reclaim another Nid from Probita.
Putting the Soulreaper Axe into the Bank with stacks on the weapon and logging out now causes the stack to start decrementing.
We've added an additional audio cue for Araxxor's charged venom spit attack to help differentiate it from his basic attack.
Before we move on, we'd like to confirm that the drop rates for Araxxor's uniques on the OSRS Wiki are accurate! The Araxyte Fang has a drop rate of 1 in 600, while Noxious Halberd pieces drop at a rate of 1 in 200. They use a similar system to the Abyssal Bludgeon to prevent you from obtaining any duplicate pieces until you've completed a full weapon. Plus, don't think we forgot... Pet drop rate! Nid, the little cutie, has a 1 in 3,000 chance, increased to 1 in 1,500 if you use the 'Destroy' option.
Plus, here's the Aranea Boots drop rates, too!
1/4000 from the small araxytes, meaning 1/1600 on task
1/2000 from the larger araxytes, 1/800 on task
1/400 from superior araxytes
There may well be more Araxxor changes to come, but that's all for this week!
Poll 82 Updates
This week we're continuing to rollout Poll 82 changes!
First up, the much-requested Trouble Brewing update - Bottles of Rum will now award 10 Pieces of Eight! Or should that be Pieces of Ten?
We're also removing the swamp segment in Temple Trekking, meaning you'll no longer have to find your way through a bog with just a stick to guide you.
Finally, Mahogany Homes sees a couple of updates this week, too. When taking up a new Mahogany Homes Contract, you can now select "Last-tier contract", and this will assign a Contract of the same tier as your previous selection, skipping the tier-selection dialogue. You can use the "Contract" option to choose another tier. Plus, you'll now automatically drink your Cup of Tea at the end of a Mahogany Homes Contract - good to the last drop!
Wintertodt Beta
Our Wintertodt Beta is coming soon! This is your chance to test out the new Warmth Metre, replacing Hitpoints as the resource to keep topped up. The Wintertodt's damage, from both basic and special attacks, will now reduce your Warmth Metre, and you'll want to keep that topped up by chomping on some food. Remember to wrap up against that harsh climate with some Warm clothing, as this will help mitigate Wintertodt's damage, along with keeping as many braziers burning as you can. We've also made some adjustments to the Rejuvenation potions, plus how to collect your loot at the end.
We'll be sharing the full breakdown of the changes, plus how to join the beta in an upcoming blog.
Summer Summit 2024
Of course, we're not going to miss a chance to remind you of the upcoming Summer Summit - it's happening this weekend!
Join us live on Twitch on Saturday, September 7th, 8pm BST / 3pm ET / 12pm PT for your first look at our roadmap and some very exciting reveals... You won't want to miss it!
Other Changes
Okay so it's not a change, but plenty of you have been asking for some insight into the Rocky drop rate for the Varlamore house thieving activity, so we wanted to confirm it with you: it's drop rate is 1/206777.
Changes made this week:
Expeditious bracelet now ensures players will receive the correct slayer points during partner slayer when it is used.
You're no longer able to gain XP through magic spells on the pillars within the Path of Scarabas, cheeky!

Inventory icon adjustment to the Standard Osmumten's Fang
Inventory icon adjustment to the Ornamental Osmumten's Fang
A few weeks ago, we tweaked Osmumten's Fang's model and special attack as part of the animation spring clean. This slight model adjustment ended up causing the Fang’s Inventory icon to appear smaller than before, and you weren't keen on it. We heard you loud and clear, and the art team has been working on adjusting its Inventory icon based on your feedback. You'll be pleased to hear that both the Standard and Ornamental Fang's Inventory icons now look bigger and clearer, as per your request!

Slayer Partners are back along with the second batch of Poll 82 updates and some exciting Makeover changes!
Changelog August 14th
[expand type=show more] Slayer Partners
Slayer Partners are back!
First, find a friend to duo with for Slayer Partners.
Then, to start the partnership:
Use the ‘Partner’ option on an Enchanted Gem or Slayer Helmet.
Select ‘New Partner’.
Type their name in to send an invite!
Once the Slayer partnership is activated, Slayer Masters will assign Tasks you can complete together.
Further Poll 82 Updates
You can now swap the Bruma Torch, Amy's Saw and the Imcando Hammer between main-hand and off-hand by right-clicking and choosing ‘Swap’, whether it’s in your Inventory or equipped.
When Amy's Saw is in the off-hand, it no longer has combat stats.
We've added a Big-Search option to the Tempoross rewards pool. This means you can now use five Permits at once to roll five rewards.
Makeover Updates
In the updated Makeover interface, players may now choose between Body Type A and Body Type B, offering the freedom to pick either body type without the restriction of gender labels.
To give you even more room for self-expression, you can now choose a preferred pronoun for your player character from the following options: He/Him, She/Her, or They/Them. You can also continue without selecting a pronoun, if that's what you prefer. The game will use the default based on body type, similar to how it has always been.
All facial hair styles can now be used with both body types.
The new Makeover interface previously used for hairstyles has replaced Thessalia and Yrsa's makeover interfaces, and you can freely swap between all customisation options no matter which shopkeeper you talk to using the button in the top-left corner.
You can now change your wristwear in the Makeover interface.
Fixed a bug where some hair and beard combinations would sometimes display incorrectly on the Makeover interface.
Other Changes
You can now sell your Deadman: Armageddon rewards back to recoup the Points spend.
The Humidify spell can now fill cups with water, to help make Guthix Rest Tea.
Sacks can now be filled with straw for scarecrows using the hay bales at the Varlamore farm.
After completing the 'Between a Rock...' quest, the 'Fire' option on Dondakan's cannon will now fire you back into his rock, allowing you skip his dialogue. You'll still need your Gold Helmet for safety reasons.
Added a 'Deathmatching' button to the in-game Report menu in preparation for the upcoming Deathmatching prohibition. Note that there is still amnesty on this rule until August 15th.
Restored previous Red-X methods when fighting Cerberus.
The Blade of Saeldor now has its original sound, again.
Fixed rendering issues with textures in some areas on the Java client.
Hotfixed earlier this week:
Fixed a bug where the Inquisitor set bonus was retained after death.
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period B:
560 - (UK) - PvP World
319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World
579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World
561 - (UK) - Free-to-Play PvP World
580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using 'Max/Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week. [TAG-103]
Once you’ve decided on a Slayer Partner, it’s time to seal the deal! Simply:
Use the ‘Partner’ option on an Enchanted Gem or Slayer Helmet.
Select ‘New Partner’.
Type their name in to send an invite!
Once the Slayer partnership is activated, Slayer Masters will assign Tasks you can complete together.
Receiving a Task
We've addressed the exploitation and boost abuse issues from the previous version, and ensured that you'll get tasks that both you and your partner can enjoy. Here's what's changed:
If you're the player obtaining a Task, only your block list will be taken into account.
You’ll also only receive Tasks that both you and your partner can actually complete.
We’ve removed the requirement for one player to have a higher Slayer level than their partner.
We've heard your concerns about some difficult tasks being blocked. To avoid this, we've changed the minimum limit of 'total combined' tasks by Slayer Partners to 15 instead of 10 based on your feedback.
If you already have a Task, you can’t partner up until you’ve finished it. This is to ensure that any Task you do together is suitable for both of you. Likewise, Irons won’t be able to partner up, but Group Irons can partner with other Group members.
The game will remember who your partner is if you log out, so you can always put the Task on hold or wrap it up by yourself. Careful though; if either partner claims a new Task while the other is offline, their partnership will be nullified.
You can cancel your current Task at any time, but both you and your partner must cancel to receive another one.
Completing a Task
As long as they are within 30 tiles of one another and on the same world, both players in a Slayer partnership can get the Slayer Kill Count credit. This should make completing your tasks super speedy!
To prevent abuse, a task completed this way will only count as completed for both players if each of them has killed at least 20% of the required monsters. The exception, of course, is instanced boss Slayer Tasks, where only one player’s kills will count towards the Task.
Points are also distributed based on the percentage of the task each player completed by themselves. If you kill 60 gargoyles and your partner kills 40, the 15 Points will be split – 9 for you, 6 for your partner. If you killed 50 gargoyles each, you’d both get 8 Points - we round up half of 15 points to 8 as opposed to rounding down to 7; a whopping single point up from what a solo slayer could earn!
To avoid any messiness, Task Streak bonuses apply separately.
When you've successfully finished your Task and snagged the Points, you can continue Slaying together with a new Task – or go your separate ways. It’s your call!
Decided to get into Slayer Partners? Then, only one more decision remains: You and who?
Further Poll 82 Updates
We’re picking up where we left off with the Poll 82 QoL changes! As a reminder, this poll focused on minigame improvements, although there were a couple of wildcards in the mix. Let’s see what changes we’re making today!
Off-hand Slot Changes
Our first change is the ability to swap certain items to the off-hand slot, based on your request! We’ve added a ‘Swap’ button to Amy’s Saw, the Bruma Torch and the Imcando Hammer that lets you swap them from the main hand to the off-hand slot. This option is available from both the Inventory and the Equipment tab.
You can change hands from the Inventory or the Equipment tab.
This means that while training Construction you can now save two Inventory slots by equipping both Amy’s Saw and the Imcando Hammer at the same time. Do note, however, that Amy’s Saw loses its combat stats when equipped in the off-hand.
Big-Search for Tempoross
When we pitched a Big-Search option for Guardians of the Rift in the Poll 82 proposal, many of you wanted to see it implemented for Tempoross as well. We think this makes perfect sense, so we’ve gone ahead and added a Big-Search option to the Tempoross rewards pool. This means you can now use five Permits at once to roll five rewards.
Makeover Updates
This week also brings a series of much-requested changes and improvements to the Makeover interfaces, which should make customising your character a far more streamlined process.
Your Player Character, Your Way
A big part of Old School is having the freedom to play the game your way, and that should extend to character creation, too. We want our players to have the freedom to express themselves in Gielinor, just as they would IRL.
With this in mind, we've updated the Makeover Mage interface:
Players may now choose between Body Type A and Body Type B, offering the freedom to pick either body type without the restriction of gender labels.
To give you even more room for self-expression, you can now choose a preferred pronoun for your player character from the following options: He/Him, She/Her, or They/Them. You can also continue without selecting a pronoun, if that's what you prefer. The game will use the default based on body type, similar to how it has always been.
We’ve updated these options on both the Makeover Mage interface and the Character Creation menu. Pronouns can also be changed in the Settings menu, for convenience.
The new Makeover Mage interface with the pronoun and body type options.
The new Character Creation interface with the pronoun and body type options.
In other news, all facial hair styles can now be used on either body type, so you can rock a beard or moustache whenever you like!
Additionally, the new makeover interface, previously used for hairstyles only, has replaced Thessalia and Yrsa’s interfaces! You can freely swap between all of them no matter which shopkeeper you talk to, using the button in the top-left corner.
Other Changes
Now that Deadman: Armageddon is over, we know some of you want to be able to sell your rewards for a full refund. Good news; you can now do just that, and refund your Deadman: Armageddon rewards for Points. These rewards include:
Armageddon Rug
Armageddon Teleport Scroll
Armageddon Weapon Scroll
Armageddon Cape Fabric
Here are some more improvements for you QoL pleasure:
The Humidify spell can now fill cups with water, to help make Guthix Rest Tea.
Sacks can now be filled with straw for scarecrows using the hay bales at the Varlamore farm.
After completing the 'Between a Rock...' quest, the 'Fire' option on Dondakan's cannon will now fire you back into his rock, allowing you skip his dialogue. You'll still need your Gold Helmet for safety reasons.
Some fixes we've rolled out with the game update:
Restored previous Red-X methods when fighting Cerberus.
Fixed rendering issues with textures in some areas on the Java client.
The Blade of Saeldor now has its original sound, again.
Fixed a bug where some hair and beard combinations would sometimes display incorrectly on the Makeover interface.
You might be wondering, "What about reverting the changes to Osmumten's Fang graphics?" Don't worry, we've heard your feedback loud and clear! The art team is working on Fang's model and Inventory icon, and they need a bit more time to get everything just right. While it didn't make it into this week's update, you can expect the changes to Fang's graphics to arrive soon!
Also, hotfixed earlier this week:
Fixed a bug where the Inquisitor set bonus was retained after death.
Last but not least, a 'Deathmatching' button is added to the in-game Report menu, in preparation of the upcoming Deathmatching prohibition. Note that only players who break this rule from August 15th onwards will face sanctions. You can find out more about Deathmatching and why we’ve prohibited it in this informative blog . If you think you've been targeted incorrectly by this or any other rule, you can appeal to the Player Support team here.

Poll 82
We didn't want to wait too long to start dropping you updates from the previous QoL Poll 82, so we're starting today with some of the smaller but fantastic improvements.
First up, while the Nail Beasts will remain loud and proud, they will drop a few more claws upon defeat which should help those savvy Sanfew brewers out there.
Next, grab your Saw, Hammer and Plank Sack as we head over to Mahogany Homes. From now on, you will no longer be shown the Furniture creation menu to build a particular hotspot if you have the materials already on you. Also, as an additional change we've removed the delay when drinking your much-deserved tea after completing a contract - so you can keep going fast! We have even more QoL tweaks based on your requests on their way in the coming weeks, like not being prompted to accept the tea to drink it, and contractors will have a right-click option to be given the same tier contract you just completed. So, while you won't see them today, know there's still more on the way!
Skull up and get ready as we head to LMS - but you might want to brace yourself as you'll now see the deadly fog much sooner than before when playing. Previously it was around ~10 minutes until the fog rolled in but now it will be around ~6 minutes. Alongside making the fog more scary, we've added all the beloved Perilous Moons sets as potential loot from the 75 Defence LMS Bracket.
Finally, for those of you helping the Spirit Anglers keep Tempoross at bay, you'll now have a lovely Quick-Start option to get you back into the action sooner.
Animation Spring Clean
During our previous Game Jam V, Mod Hend took some time to look over some animations and make them feel more lively and unique. With DMM over it's time to spruce up a few animations from several weapons found within the wide world of Gielinor.
Before we dive into the more hyped-up changes, we know that animation stalling of the Hunter's Crossbow and Sunlight Crossbow has been an issue for some time, so we've fixed that bug from happening - no more surprise attacks from those weapons!
The core of this update however gives some of the more iconic special attacks a nice update to make them more unique and hopefully more identifiable! This includes the special attacks of the Voidwaker, Morrigan's Throwing Axe, Morrigan's Javelin and Osmumten's Fang which has also had its special attack's audio improved, while the model has been updated by Mod West!
New Fang Special Attack Animation
New Voidwaker Special Attack Animation
Click here for the sound effect of the new Voidwaker Special Attack animation.
While we were at it, the running animation when you're carrying Dharok's Greataxe and the Soulreaper Axe has been refreshed.
Updated running animation when carrying Dharok's Greataxe and the Soulreaper Axe
As for a few miscellaneous changes, no longer will the Trick Emote be dragged down by that lone green pixel and the alignments of special attack animations of the Ancient Mace, Dragon Hasta and Soulreaper Axe have been corrected. We've also removed the 1-tick delay on the returning animation of the Tonalztics of Ralos special attack when charged and the weapon's special attack now plays correct animation when used against another player.
So there you have it, we hope you enjoy this small polish to some animations across the game, and who knows, maybe there'll be more in the future!

QoL Improvements & Further Deadman: Armageddon Tweaks | July 31st
This week brings a plethora of general QoL improvements, plus tweaks to Deadman: Armageddon and While Guthix Sleeps!
Changelog July 31st
[expand type=show more]
Deadman: Armageddon
Adjusted the prices of certain Deadman items for Bank Keys.
If the player getting special attacked by the Morrigan's Javelin is praying ranged, the bleed damage should now correctly respect this and be reduced by 40%.
Taking the cages up and down in Chasm of Fire deals damage to the player, as intended. These changes only apply to Deadman mode.
Fixed a bug where losing one minute of Deadman protection when you log out wasn't working, leaving it vulnerable to infinite protection abuse. The protection timer now correctly goes down when you log out, like it did with the previous Deadmans.
If you chose the Path of Mahjarrat from the Tier 4 Quest Lamp, you can now correctly claim 10 Museum Kudos for the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest.
The new Deadman versions of the imbued Mage Arena Capes can now be stored in the Player Owned House Cape Rack.
While Guthix Sleeps
Graphically updated the tormented demons’ fire shield effect:
Shifted the hue from yellow to orange and toned it down.
Added more transparency.
Reduced the turning speed of the shield by 50%.
The shield animation now plays for two ticks instead of three.
Removed the floor symbol and fire circle elements during the shield animation.
Miscellaneous QoL Changes
Added XP lamps to the rewards from the Beekeeper random event.
Shades of Mort'ton has received some usability adjustments:
Added a left-click option to the sacred fire to let players sanctify Olive Oil and Serum 207 more conveniently.
Sanctifying an item with the sacred fire will automatically continue sanctifying the vials in your Inventory until you run out of sanctity or items or cancel the action.
Sanctifying Serum 207 now uses 5% sanctity per dose, down from 20% - although you will still need at least 20% sanctity to perform the action.
A Make-All menu will now appear when using Sacred Oil to make Pyre Logs.
Adjusted the Firemaking XP of making Pyre Logs to be a flat 5 XP per dose of Sacred Oil consumed, instead of a variable rate based on how many doses are in the vial.
The pyres now have left-click options for adding Pyre Logs and Shade Remains automatically, prioritising the best Pyre Logs available; players may still select them manually if desired.
Players will be warned if trying to burn Pyre Logs without the appropriate Shade Remains.
Created five Clan ranks above and below the Administrator for greater flexibility.
Created a new toggle which lets UIMs opt out of death protection from cosmetics, affecting ornamented items. This applies only to PvM deaths; item loss on PvP death is not affected by the toggle.
Fixed issues with certain bolts and arrows acting sus with Dizana’s Quiver:
Karil's Bolt Racks no longer hinders using the bolts.
The Sunlight Crossbow and its Bolts should now work with the Dizana's Quiver, counting as a bolt and giving the correct bonuses.
Having the Mithril Grapple inside Dizana's or a regular Quiver no longer causes issues, and lets the player shoot Crossbow Bolts as intended.
You can now cast Vengeance Other from a Blighted Vengeance Sack.
Added 'Make-X' option when fletching Bolts, similar to how it is when fletching Darts.
Drakan's Medallion can now be reclaimed from Perdu's shop for 30,000 GP.
The Plank Make spell will now convert the first log in your Inventory, depositing the resulting Plank in the first available slot.
Other Changes
100% weapon accuracy during Eclipse Moon's Clone Phase is now present for all attack styles.
Laps removed are adjusted to 10 from 25 when logging out at the Wilderness Agility Course. The laps still get reset upon leaving the course.
Gabooty has put a sale on for the Tai Bwo Wannai denizens and some of them took up the offer to refresh their wardrobe, bringing a bit more colour to the village.

The PvP rota has moved to Period B:
560 - (UK) - PvP World
319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World
579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World
561 - (UK) - Free-to-Play PvP World
580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.

Deadman: Armageddon
Deadman: Armageddon is firing on all cylinders, and it’s been great to see so many of you joining the battle! You have until August 3rd to experience the PvP action and snag yourself some killer cosmetics.
Before we jump into this week's changes, we've received a handful of questions around the World 345 transfer process and wanted to clear some things up!
At the end of Deadman: Armageddon, your character and all of their stats will transfer over to World 345. You'll also transfer any untradeables that you've got so long as they don't convert into a tradeable item on death, this means that things like Barrows armour or a recoloured Bow of Faerdhinen should not transfer over. We'd like to remind you that items in your DMM Deposit Box will not transfer. You'll also keep any pets that you've got because it wouldn't be right to separate you from your adoring little followers! Additionally, any items in any 'storage' containers (check out this page for a full list) should also be wiped, so you won't find anything you've got sitting in the Chambers of Xeric making its way into the permanent Deadman worlds either.
Hopefully that clears things up, now back to our regularly scheduled game update content!
While you've been busy surviving the chaos, we’ve been busy making improvements behind the scenes:
Deadman 2024 Finale
If you haven't already, mark your calendars for the Deadman 2024 Grand Finale, which will be livestreamed on our Twitch channel, this Saturday, August 3rd at 18:00 BST. Tune in to watch five finales across five combat brackets battle through PvP mayhem! It’s a show you won’t want to miss.
While Guthix Sleeps
Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen that some players have been having a hard time with the tormented demons' fire shield effect, causing them eye strain and motion sickness. To avoid this, we've made some tweaks:
Shifted the hue from yellow to orange and toned it down.
Added more transparency.
Reduced the turning speed of the shield by 50%.
The shield animation now plays for two ticks instead of three.
Removed the floor symbol and fire circle elements during the shield animation.

Miscellaneous QoL Changes
We’ve also managed to bring you a handful of much-requested Quality of Life changes this week!
First up, we’re heading to the Clan Hall, where we’ve added five more rank slots above and below Administrator, which should cover all your ranking needs. For context, the game has restrictions specifically based on the Administrator rank, which is why it’s not so easy for us to move it about. One such restriction involves the data space where a player’s ‘last seen’ date is stored. We’re aware that Clan Leaders want this information to be stored for lower-rank Clan members, rather than only those above Administrator Rank, and we hope to be able to offer this in future. For now, though, we hope the extra Rank slots give players more flexibility in roles above Administrator in rank. For existing Clans, the new Rank slots have been assigned placeholder Titles. You can use the Titles menu to assign more thematic ones if you so desire.
Next up, a quality-of-life improvement for UIMs! On a PvM death, many items that have Ornament Kits applied to them will be protected on death, staying in your Inventory rather than falling to a grave. This protection was introduced years ago as a little extra perk for cosmetic kits, affecting the ornamented versions of items like the Mystic Lava Staff, Fighter Torso and the Elidinis' Ward (f). UIM may find this protection unhelpful, since they'll sometimes actually prefer their items to drop into their grave piles on death. We’ve created a new toggle in the Settings menu which will let them opt out of this protection. Note that this applies only to PvM deaths; item loss on a PvP death is not affected.
Additionally, we’ve fixed some interactions between Dizana’s Quiver and ammunition:
Karil's Bolt Racks no longer hinders using the bolts.
The Sunlight Crossbow and its Bolts should now work with the Dizana's Quiver, counting as a bolt and giving the correct bonuses.
Having the Mithril Grapple inside Dizana's or a regular Quiver no longer causes issues, and lets the player shoot Crossbow Bolts as intended.
We’ve also made changes to Shades of Mort’ton:
Last but not least, some further miscellaneous improvements:
Added XP lamps to the rewards from the Beekeeper random event.
Membership Code Vouchers Change
On Monday we released a blog informing players that it is no longer possible to convert Bonds to Membership Passcodes.
We made this difficult decision because some rulebreakers were using this system to violate our TOS.
Don’t worry – if you already have a passcode from an existing Bond redemption, it will still be valid, and you're still able to redeem a Bond directly for 14 days of Membership, as normal.
We’re making our comic book series debut with Titan Comics! RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars is a four-part mini-series which launches with a special oversized 48-page bumper Issue #1 (complete with five different cover variants) on October 9th!
The series, which was teased last year in Titan’s Free Comic Book Day edition, is penned by Void Trip writer Ryan O’Sullivan, with artists Sid Kotian (Gambit, The Adventures of Apocalypse Al) and Daniel Bayliss (RuneScape FCBD edition). Expanding on the epic lore behind the iconic God Wars Dungeon, this new comic book series will delve into the Temple of Lost Ancients during the catastrophic God Wars – where the armies of Saradomin, Armadyl, Bandos and Zamorak are fighting for control of the Godsword, the only weapon capable of killing a deity. RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars features the forgotten histories of fan-favourite characters, as well as telling stories you’ve never heard before - including that of Maro, trapped in the centre of this world-shaking conflict, who dreams of breaking free from his master’s clutches...
Check out this newspost for full details, or visit Titan Comics website to pre-order your copy and get hold of your favourite variant cover.
