Pako 2

Week 31 Update

Hola! This week more content! We are adding new level "Sunny Coast" (working title). It is a fairly big map with two sections, beach town and the old town and the small mountain. Mountain section of the map is still bit work in progress, but we wanted to give you a spin already. Next week we will improve some sections of this map.

Other big addition is that visual section has gone under some changes to give the game more the trashy 70s-80s action movie vibe, we hope you dig it! Biggest changes can be turned on/off from the settings (bloom and motion blur).

Let us know how you like the new stage in the comments section, keep making youtube vids and spread the word!

What's changed:
* Added new level "Sunny Coast"
* Changed level unlocking: Levels are no longer unlocked by task list, but money. (Same way as cars)
* GFX improvements, including options for Motion blur and Bloom
* Optimization
* Bug fixes

All the best,
-TMG

Small teaser of the next level (and update on other things)

Due to some holidays, there is not going to be an update this week. But here are some teasers on the next map:

This map will be the most "urban" this far (we do have other REALLY urban on production but that one will still be under the wraps for a while). Town consists of two parts, mostly level new part of the town, and old town up in the hills which is more twisty-turny roads and steep hills. Who knows, maybe there will be also a small section of nature to explore:!

Also, we have been toying with bit updating the graphics otherwise too, to give it more unified look. Maybe even Motion blur when you use the boost? This is not for sure yet but we will keep you posted.

Week 29 update

Quick notes about latest changes:

* Added weapon: Laser gun (short range but quick fire)
* Added vehicle mod: Front fire (use it as a second gun to shoot forwards)
* Breaking stuff now gives small bonus money
* Every 5th robbery now grants a generally more powerful perk item (Like-a-Tank, Extra life, Full repair, Death touch)
* Added option to adjust ambient volume
* Perk item group is adjusted for Survival levels (unusable perks are removed in Survival)
* Optimization
* Bug fixes

PAKO 2 Trading Cards available now!

Hello! The Trading Cards are now removed from our todo-list and should be online now. Keep on grinding to get those card drops!

Week 28 update

This week we bring you new Perks, guns and one more car, heavy hitter UNIMASI!

In addition there's more weapons, Heavy Pistol and Assault Rifle:

Gameplay-wise, now explosions deal damage to both you and the enemies, so avoid chain reaction type of situtiations, but make them happen from distance!

We are now testing our new map which will be pretty big, sunny, green, oceanic and... more news about that later.

* New vehicle: Unimasi
* New weapons: Heavy pistol and Assault rifle
* New perk items: No fall damage, Fast fire, Bulletproof, Pusher, Mechanic buddies, Death touch
* Explosions changed to deal damage
* Added screen shake effect on player damage
* Added option to reset progress (Settings: Reset)
* Menu navigation with mouse: now you can browse the lists back and forth with left and right mouse buttons
* Bug fixes

Keep us updated with feedback and how you feel about the changes and additions!

BR,
-TMG

Week 27 update

This week we did some more fine tuning but still big things! Biggest difference is that passive perks have been moved in-game. This way you can chain more than one with successful robberies. Perks you have collected are then shown on the UI top left corner. Also, we added bunch of new perk items to the rotation, list of them can be found HERE. If you have ideas for passive perks, we are glad to hear em!

Other bigger additions are police stations scattered to maps (as seen in the pic above). They spawn cop cars while being close by, so better try to avoid them bit!

Oh, and to guarantee more destruction, we added flamethrower!

Here is the full list of changes:

* Passive perk items are moved from the Garage to in-game spawnables
* Performing robberies now randomly reward a perk item
* Added weapon: Flamethrower
* Added police stations
* Modified the level "Test Drive"
* Perk loading indicator added
* Minor changes in the weapon: Bazooka
* Minor bug fixes
* GFX improvements on Devils Plains
* Garage menu GFX redone
* Added several perk items

As you know the drill, keep feedback coming and have fun playing the game! We are hard at work to bring you more content (as in levels, cars, etc), next level has been chosen and is taking its final touches quite fast.

All the best,

TMG

Week 26 update

This week we add a new level based on your wishes! It is smaller size arena type of level named...drumroll..Arena! It harkens back to first Pako's small survival based levels. Your goal is to survive as long as possible in level with no escape, and compete in leaderboards. This level and Test Drive can now be accessed from Main Menu -> Survival. We continue to tweak this level in the future and if feedback is good, we consider maybe making more of these to the side.

In other additions there are tweaks to Devil's Plains, mainly to the rock quarry area that has been shrunk bit for easier access. Also to middle area of map we have added some more landmarks to make it easier to figure out what part of the map you are at.

Another navigation helper is that we added the target name to the guide arrow, this hopefully makes it easier to remember different places in the map.

Also, we balanced the game to have more enemies but they are lot weaker than before, this making shooting more enjoyable. Also, now if your round ends to Busted, there is no penalty (BUT for escape you get a bonus) so keep those long runs going!

Full set of changes:

* Added a survival level "Arena"
* Moved the "Test drive" level to survival levels
* Changed the order of main levels to Tutorial > Devil's Plains > Martin's Valley
* Busted penalty changed to Escape bonus
* Amount of enemies is increased
* Enemy hitpoints are decreased
* Added active target name into the guide arrow
* Minor GFX improvements
* Minor bug fixes

We are happy to hear what you think of the new content so drop us a line here or Twitter!

Week 25 update

Update is out!

This week minor things since Finland parties midsummer. We added new weapon, sawed-off shotgun:

Other things include one new song plus first draft of visual helper when car is behind obstacles. On things down the pipeline, we have continued developing the existing stages + the next full stage. In addition we have also toyed around bit with idea of an arena stage, let's see how that goes. Also, been thinking of balancing the game bit differently with weaker enemies but more of them to bring more organized chaos to the levels.

List of what's changed:

* Added visual helper when player vehicle is obscured from the view
* Added weapon: Sawed-off shotgun
* Added a new music track
* Menu VHS effects can now be disabled in Settings
* Minor GFX improvements
* Minor bug fixes, such as gun selection saving in Garage

Again, we appreciate all the feedback!

All the best,
TMG!

Week 24 update

Time for the weekly update! This week we mostly fixed bugs and kept tweaking Devils Plains. For example Quarry area of the map has been reworked for easier sense of navigation (and lots of things to destroy!). Also other additional improvements have been made all around the map and lighting has been slightly fixed.

On new features, we added new ride, Wagon:

Also, we now have online leaderboards included in in-game menus so you can keep track on your world rankings!

Last but not least we added bit experimental feature of 2 player support! This works that way that player 1 steers the car normally (and can also shoot), but second player can shoot also if two gamepads have been included. If this is a feature you would like us to expand, we are happy to hear possible ideas.

What's changed:
* Added partial 2-player support (Player2 can shoot while Player1 drives)
* Added online leaderboards to in-game menus
* Added new song 'Gamble'
* Added car "Wagon"
* Minor weapon tweaks
* GFX improvements
* Bug fixes

Give us a shout at the comment box!
Best regards, TMG

Week 23 update

This weeks update is the biggest one this far! Biggest addition is new map ‘Devils Plains’, which is a dusty canyon area with lot of space to move (avoid deadly drops)! To Unlock Devils Plains, you have to complete at least 8 of bonus tasks in the other levels.

In addition to this, we bring you 4 more cars to spend your hard earned cash, including THE BEAST:

On top of that, we have listened your feedback and added tilt shift effect! However if you don’t like it, you can turn it off from settings. Also color schemes have been slightly tweaked. On minor updates there is new song from DKSTR, Bandit camps you can rob (watch out tho, they will be angry!), bug fixes and some tweaks on UI.

Let us know how the new stage feels, it is still bit WIP and will get tweaked more in coming weeks!

All the best,
TMG
