Perpetuum

Robot goes to Hollywood

About a year ago we were approached by a production assistant representing MGM Studios, asking for permission to use some footage from Perpetuum in an upcoming movie. According to them it was supposed to be the favorite game of the main character, used in two different scenes. Some extra visibility is always good, even if it's just some obscure indie movie - we thought back then. So we provided some high quality gameplay videos and didn't hear back since.

Well, imagine our surprise today.

The movie is called "Max", and it seems to be a full-fledged Hollywood movie, a good one even. The trailer has been released today - look for a stompy Gropho at the 29 second mark. Obviously the movie is not about our game and it probably only gets a few seconds of screen time, but needless to say we're very proud! :)

Winter sale, new blog

Perpetuum and all credit items are currently 33% off, including the re-introduced ICE!

A new, smaller credit pack of 200 PC is now also available for purchase. This should be useful for those who just need a few credits for extension downgrades, and don't want to purchase a larger pack.

Also check out the newest devblog for the first details on the upcoming random assignment system:

Early Access ends, incoming updates

Perpetuum will end its Early Access phase and "launch" officially this Friday, the 17th of October.

The quotation marks are not incidental as you probably all know that we've had our official launch a few years ago and this EA phase was only to warn new players about possible issues while we were making the transition to Steam and our new servers. Now that this is done and everything is stable, it's time to leave that tag behind.

Of course this won’t really change much from a development perspective, we’re continuing on the road we have laid out and keep improving the game.

We'll be deploying a few updates in the coming weeks, including a larger balance package for robots, and some small but significant changes to gamma island and intrusion mechanics. Meanwhile we're preparing a larger PvE update with the revamp of our mission system, this will be discussed in detail in one of our upcoming blog posts.

This and more in our October status report:

Gamma islands are back!

After a few days of doublechecking that everything is right, the areas where you can terraform and build your own bases (commonly known as Gammas) have been reopened!

We are already after the obligatory hotfixes that are inevitable after such an extensive update, the patch notes for that can be found here.

See you on Nia!
