Part Two in Bite Size Chunks - Starting Today!

Hi,
Yes, finally here!,
It's been way too long between updates for the game, thank you everyone for your patience.

This update includes the first 4 levels of Part Two.

Originally, Part Two of the story was planned to be released all as one giant update. However the size of the update has become so complex that, releasing a hand full of levels on a weekly-ish basis will be the best way to go.

So in the spirit of "Early Access" everything is very much work in progress, the first 4 levels will change dramatically as the weeks progress. The plan is to have at least one new level or more per week added to the game. Including all of the upcoming Part Three. Until the whole thing is complete.! That will be a cool moment:).
So please forgive any issues or temporary problems. I want to assure everyone that all requests for items like teleport, control options etc etc are also all on the way and will work their way in to the game slowly through these weekly updates.
all your thoughts and ideas are very valuable to the game, so looking forward to hear them all on the forum if you have time.

Going forward, once all Parts of the game Story are complete, the next phases will be to go over the entire game again to include missing cinematics, do all game play polish. Complete every feature request and then..add some of the secret wish list modes, hopefully something online with swords and whips.

Thank you again and hope you enjoy this first chunk of Part Two. More to come on a regular basis now very soon.
J

Quick Tip - Crack it like a real life whip!

Here is a small video showing only sections of this first chunk of Part Two.

Part Two Status

Part Two Progress is going well, however it is taking a little longer than planned, as there are many strange new weapons, enemies and features. Looking forward to have this out to everyone as soon as it's ready. Even though it's taking some time to complete, it will be worth it to have so much variety added rather than rushing and leaving out some of the unique elements that take that extra time to create. Thank you everyone and updates will keep coming as it's getting closer to complete.
J
Here are a few more screenshots of some of the new things coming soon.

Another Small Stability Update

Hi, another small update before Part Two is ready, to address some if not all of the issues that have been seen with the game crashing in places. It''s taken some time to find them all and so a big thank you to everyone for understanding through early access as issues are found and also to all who helped with sending reports etc! If you do continue to see any crash of the game, please let me know and those issues will be hunted down and destroyed, If you never had a crash issue with the game once, just disregard this whole update here, nothing ever happened it was all fine.:)
On other news there will be another small update soon with some menu and option additions and then Part Two will be ready soon after that. So lots of good things on the way:trapball:

Big Combat Update - Phase One

Hi,
Here is a new Update focused on Combat, adding new enemies and enemy types, new music, environment traps, a new Boss and changes to original levels among many, many other things listed below. Here is a short video showing all of this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rxk1ZidsdU&feature=youtu.be

This is the first of what will be group of updates focused around combat.
Optimization to enemy spawning and continued game optimizations were also a large focus with this update, allowing for more enemies in battle than previously.
Tip - Storing health pickups and consuming head trophy’s is now essential to progressing.

We are calling this Phase One, with more phases coming over the next few weeks.
This phase focuses on the first hour or so only, although changes to the enemy AI will be noticed through the entire game. It covers the levels, “Ancient Blade to Ijhee the endless” It is recommended to start a new game from the beginning if you want to see everything that has changed.
We think this direction feels good and are hard at work applying this polish to the remainder of Part One over the next few weeks! We are aiming for an update each week until all of Part One has been covered, while also continuing to work on Part Two of the story.
Lots of details below, thank you everyone for the great feedback and thoughts on the game and we look forward to hear more.

LONG NOTES

Added Boss and Level - Arcledon - This is a whole new level with a Boss character Arcledon. Arcledon is the keeper of the Gambaou weapon. There is also a smaller new level at the end of this scene called “Double Gambaou”, if you make it!
Added New Enemy “Chungaah’s” - The halfling outcast tribe of the Morg, tree dwelling angry little beasts.
Added Morg Grenadier - He will slow time and throw traps in your direction, be very careful with how to take him out as he will splode in a colourful shower of acid if you hit the wrong location. Tip, go for the helmet then head and back away very quickly.
Added Morg Helmet Grunt - A stronger version of the base Morg warrior.
Added Environment Traps - The first two of a variety of traps to be added, Tip they can all be deactivated, you just need to figure out how.
Added Start for Combo’s - Savage Mode - This is the base for what will become a combo system for combat that will multiply and reward you based on the speed that you can take out enemies.
Polished Levels 0 to 7 - While levels 0 to 7 all received polish, the level dawn cave has undergone some large changes in the second half of the level. Mainly visual, but much improved.
Added new Music to many scenes - Some awesome new Vince music tracks carefully created for the new scenes.
Added Short Cinematic scene - Short action scene at end of Arcledon level.
Improved almost all Audio FX - Many of the weapon and combat sounds needed some refinement, balancing and touches.

Improved Combat - Morg Charger - Charges from range, more aggressive.
Improved Combat - Morg Mage - Summons cave bats
Improved Combat - Morg Heavy - Much more aggressive, uses active vision to switch attacks mid action based on your moves. Will Tag team with a second Heavy. Can be chopped in half if Chest armor is removed.
Gamewide Optimizations - Hundreds
Optimized Enemy Spawning - for Levels 0 to 7 spawning of enemies in handled in a new way and so you should not see any FPS drop or slow down when an enemy enters the battle.
Added small health pickup item - Mini health is now collected from Pots that contain a random drop of the “Tongo Berry”
Improved Pickup Items “Pickup items are now more appropriate for weapon and level. Work on this will be ongoing.

Story Part Two Progress

An update to show progress on Part Two of the Story.
In these images you can see some of the areas included in Part Two of the story as you progress through the world.

Lagoon

Grygor and his Dogs

Part Two will be as long if not longer than Part One currently, so will add another 2 to 3 hours of game play. It will include many new weapons, enemies, creatures and environments as well as shedding much more light on the story itself.
Part One will also be regularly updated in the meantime with many changes to combat, 4 to 5 new enemy types, complete cinematic scenes and some new boss areas.

We are looking forward to have all of these updates out as soon as they are complete! Thank you everyone for playing, enjoying so far and know that Part One currently is just a very small section of what the full complete version will be:)

We really value the support you have show by playing the game in early access and want to honor that support by listening and improving constantly. So anything no matter how small, we'll get on it!

A special thank you to Sebastian from Frame Tale Studios
http://www.frametalestudios.com/
Sebastian makes amazing tools for game developers among other things, as well as his own VR games. We are very fortunate that he answered the call to help out with getting the infrastructure and movement systems into a better state so that going forward we are building on a solid base. I wanted to introduce Sebastian and thank him for his awesome help with this update. He has also been working on a good solution for Teleporting that will come very soon.

Another special thank you to community member and long time testing helper Aerowyn for feedback on the menu and tutorial as it progressed!

Vince has created a new music track for the starting area that no matter how many times I hear it, it still gets me, it's beautiful! Vince has also been creating a huge amount of amazing new music for Part Two. He is also responsible for the ideas behind a new game play mode that will be coming soon called cloud breaker! As well as testing very early versions of Part Two areas.

Additional Notes -
.There are also many more items not listed that were worked on and included over the last month.
.It is possible that this update will delete any save games you have, apologies for this, unavoidable with some changes we needed to make and it should be a one time thing. For this reason you can go to the location in the starting area "Your Path" and choose the point of the game you were last at and the game will re save your progress from there.

Coming Next -
Teleport
Blade Master Enemy (Part One)
Korrila Enemy (Part One)
Big Boss (Part One End)
Secret Pets
Secret Levels
New Gameplay modes
New Arcade mode map
Endless Jungle

Thank you again everyone and hope you enjoy:)
J

PS, try out using the pause mode mid battle or in other places in the game it's pretty fun.
