During the Beta, we held a small mapping challenge to see who could rock out the editor. We had a bunch of awesome entries and it was a tough race!

Quick Update: 11 / 13 / 2020

General Game Updates:



Fix: triggered projectile damage owner now properly set so player self damage will be correct for triggered rockets and sticky grenades.

Fix: bug when finishing an editor map it would show the name of last cloud map you looked at.

Tweak: changed footstep interval to 4 meters from 3 meters

Fix: toggling something in a map will now detach entities (monsters, etc), entity damagers (sticky grenades get detached and triggered everything else gets destroyed), and destroy anything else (blood drips from ceilings, etc)

Possible fix: bug where an exception is thrown when checking the last time a file was edited on computers with incorrect timezone settings. (another black screen bug)

Levels:


Bug fixes, enemy spawn tweaks, and checkpoint tweaks to multiple maps.

Full Screen fixes and Updates in the Options menu



Default launch Full Screen Mode changed to Full Screen Window instead of Exclusive Full Screen for maximum compatibility.

Full Screen Mode settings can still be changed in the options menu.

If anyone still has crashes on startup add this to the launch options in Steam or custom launch parameters in Galaxy.

How to enter -



1. Be in the Beta
2. Use the level editor to make a cool map
3. Name your level "MC-MYMAPNAMEHERE" (the MC- stands for Mapping Challenge)
4. TAG your level with "Mapping Challenge 2"
5. Upload your level to the Workshop and set it to Public so everyone can start playing
6. Once you've had some testing and feedback on our Discord channel, PUBLISH your map so people can start collecting leaderboards
7. wait for the contest to finish.




Your map must be playable from start to finish and published on the workshop with the name and tag listed above, constitutes your entry into this contest.

Submission Deadline -


Your map must be submitted by November 10th, 2020 at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). All maps are dated and time stamped when published to the workshop.

Judging -


Devs and a few guest judges will play through the maps and rank them based on
Fun / Originality / Visual Presentation / Polish

Rules -


- Map must be PUBLISHED to the Community Workshop by November 10th, 2020 at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). All maps are dated and timestamped when published to the workshop.
- Users should be able to "finish" your level and hit the leaderboards screen.
- Remakes : don't remake a level or part of a level from a different game. Keep things unique and show us your own individual sparkle.
- Maps that were under creation prior to the announcement of this Contest can be entered, as long as a complete map version (layout and any non-greybox art) was not released for public download.
- Multiple map entries are permitted, however each entry will be judged for its own particular quality.
- this is not a campaign competition, but a single map competition.
- this is a solo person comp, we will not be splitting the prizes.
- you are allowed to use prefabs from the editor
- you are not allowed to use other users' prefabs for this particular contest. In future competitions we will change that rule.


Beta Quick Fix: 9/25/2020

Game:

- Fixed some menu back buttons not working
- Updated SSR shader for better performance, maybe, I can't tell a difference
- Updated graphics options menu to say (non native) next to the screen overlay effect
- Fixed logout bug when local session timer expires
- Added an input delay when focusing on the application to stop alt tab button pressed
- Set inputs to ignore non gamepad joysticks, will maybe fix the whole HOTAS issue, also allows hot-swapping of controllers now
