Project Maze: Big Maze Mode

Hello and hi!

In next update with earlier announcement UI update and gamepad support will be added Extra Modes with.. ahem, BIG MAZE.



It's in 3x larger than usual maze. And looks pretty simple. Yeah, it's because that large maze showed 3 FPS at old machine [read laptop] and unstabel FPS [60-110] at modern. Even if i made several levels of LOD's. But hey now it's look kind of "retro" [i hope]. So right now it show near 30 fps at old machines and stable FPS at modern.

P.S. I'll add achievement as reward to all who completed this maze.

Right now i'm working on full controller implementation, so for setting up custom Maze ID will be added numpad (temporary design).



Plus for future gameplay changes added new "setup screens" [mostly cosmetics thing]

Like i said, all DLC will be free. So i made ditribution page for them with first announcement and several screenshots.

Project Maze Hotfix

Hai-hai! Shortly:


  • Added Mouse Sensitivity
  • Removed FPS Settings in options menu. Right now it has open parameter and could be locked only by V-Sync->On. But i think, i'm gonna lock up parameter near 120 or 160 in next update.
  • Multiplayer map now locked at 60 FPS. [I hope this could help to fix lags]
  • Fixed some text lines.

Project Maze Global Update

Hello and hi, maze runners!
This time has come. Please welcome new global update!

Changelog:

1. Global changes:

  • Added MULTIPLAYER [up to 4 players, include host]. It based on your friendlist and contain one co-op mode. Round will be ended when one of the runners has reach end. Maze ID every time random.
  • Cut out experimental modes. Survival and All In (hard mode). Sandbox has been replaced.
  • Only two game modes has been left in game: Free Run and Time Mode. However for both added custom mode [replace of Sandbox] where you can apply own ID for maze.
  • New UI. Nice and simple [i hope:blissful_creep:]
  • Perfomance boost.


2. All another changes:

  • Helper and stamina system has been disabled. I know someone need in this small arrows, but please wait a bit more.
  • Loading screens. [Yes-yes, for me it's a big achievement]



3. Known bugs:

  • Mouse losing focus when friendlist opened [just wait a bit 3-10 sec until UI will be fully loaded]
  • Button 'Start multiplayer game' available immediately when you start to host lobby [Just don't push the button until all invited friends will be connected].
  • Steam status of HOST must be online.
  • Music won't unmutes in multiplayer mode.
  • Big mouse sensitivity for some players.


Right now this is all runners :happy_creep:

P.S. Next update will contain gamepad support [include hotkeys in widgets]. And mouse sensitivity settings. And ofc bugfixes :squirtyay:.

Project Maze News

Good news! After some investigations i fixed performance issue.
(boost was from 80-120 fps with critical drops to >200-320 fps without critical drops at my PC). So now wich calm heart i'm gonna finish multiplayer maze (make cute starter points with auto doors :squirtyay: ) and fix all interface issues.

I'll try to push update before lunar sale (yes, i put discount -50% again).


Oh yes, i'm planning to take buld at my old laptop (spec=min on store page) and look at performance.

Project Maze Next Update Announcement

Hello dear maze runners!
I'm happy to announce about next update almost ready and on stage of inner testing. So, let me tell what inside :squirtheh:


1. Updated UI.
[I'm back to early simple version of UI form first build, but modified somewhere]
2. MULTIPLAYER
[In current state it based on lobby-friend invite system and include one co-op map]
3. Enemies mode removed
[I'm really want players could complete maze with first try, but if player met dead end with enemy on his tail - this kind of impossible. But, anyway, it's not permanently and will be added as experimental mode soon or later]
4. Build
[Game was re-created from zero on last version of Unreal Engine. Right now it's
4.21, instead of 4.18. So i hope it could fix some performance problems]


More changes will be posted in patch note before release.

Project Maze Update

Hello. I'm terribly sorry for long delay between updates main irl work makes me dadly tired last few months, ahem! so, anyway, i'm glad to inform you about new patch:

  • Helper is back
  • Custom Maze mode is back
  • Options menu temporarily disabled in pause menu, due bug with disable of mouse controller.

A.I.-based modes still disabled cause problems with drones animation.
